It's a shame about the English-speaking staff. The indicated allergy was not handled separately, and I also noticed something on the last order that didn't belong on mine.

Plates were already being cleared away while we were eating and there was still food on them. You could clearly see that the staff wanted something to do. The food was very disappointing, lacking flavor and very greasy. The sushi was also tasteless. Too expensive for what you get.

I had an Inari crab corn, but unfortunately, you had to search for the crab. Also, there was very little salmon added to the Temaki Sake. Not like I am used to at your place. A pity. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Atmosphere and service good, nothing to complain about. Food is disappointing; salmon very dry, squid rings in sauce tough, tuna is supposed to be red but these were grey, the same applies to sushi. Certain sushi pieces were drenched in too much sauce, so you couldn't taste anything anymore. Only the sushi cones tasted good.

Banzai used to be here. You could get fantastic Japanese food here. Now that it's Hyh, I still go there occasionally. But it's a bit less so. The great thing about Japanese dishes, whether it's sushi or teppan yaki, is that everything is neatly sliced. That's an art that (the chef at) Banzai mastered like no other. This chef is more of a "thick wood, one saws planks." Update January 2025: it's still a Japanese restaurant, now called Muzumi. These chefs are more into refinement. So I'm going to raise my star rating a bit. There's also something new on the menu regularly. It also taps into Korean culture, which is quite hot and happening these days. The restaurant has become a real recommendation again. Be sure to bring your reading glasses. The lighting is a bit dim.

I won't be coming back anytime soon. Little variety in sushi types, and the side dishes were definitely not warm. It is very odd that you have to pay extra for some things. I had 4 pieces of fried rice with a tasteless topping, but it cost an extra €8. Very peculiar. I read in many other reviews that the owner takes the comments into account, but I don't see any sign of it. Unfortunately, the price-quality ratio is very poor because of this; it is a shame that it is so expensive.

I ate at Mizumi for the first time and it was delicious. The restaurant is nicely laid out and decorated. Additionally, it is situated in a super beautiful location by the water. The food was also great and arrived quickly after ordering via the QR code. Highly recommended.

We were well assisted by friendly people. Once we were seated and had ordered, the food arrived super fast (this was repeated throughout the evening). Normally, we have different experiences with all-you-can-eat. The food itself was also very good; tender fish, everything tasted freshly prepared, and all the hot dishes were actually hot. And the cocktail did not disappoint either.

The sushi was okay, the meat dishes were good. We did not receive all the ordered dishes, and upon inquiry, we were told we were not given them either.

We were there on a Tuesday evening and we enjoyed ourselves. Being able to look out over the pond was also very nice, but it looks cozy anyway. Ordering was very easy via QR code; every mobile phone at the table can add items live, so you can also see when the maximum capacity for that round has been reached. Everything was delicious; the fish tasted good and was well cut, the deep-fry was really crispy, and everything was beautifully presented. The service was quick and friendly, bringing whatever was ready in the kitchen to the table each time, so not everything at once, which I appreciate. Empty plates were cleared away promptly. The two hours was more than enough time to go home feeling satisfied. I will definitely go back again because I am curious about everything I haven't been able to taste yet. The miso soup is highly recommended, by the way.

Normally very satisfied, however, I had a negative experience on May 24. The next day, I sent a polite email to the info email address. Unfortunately, I have not received a response to date. Very disappointing!

Had a very bad experience with the restaurant. Visited the restaurant twice in total and once again the service is poor. We had to wait 30 minutes per round, and on top of that, the food arrived cold! Old plates were barely cleared from the table, and there were ants on our table all around our plates. We indicated that we were not satisfied with the service and the cold food; every time we were told it was busy, even though it wasn't even busy during our first visit. As compensation, the owner said she would deduct one dinner and four drinks from the total amount; however, they only deducted one dinner, and we still had to pay for the drinks. I will not visit this restaurant again and would not recommend it to anyone.

We had a lovely meal outside on the terrace. Just one minor point, and that is that we like to dine for longer than 2 hours.

In the two hours we sat for the All you can eat, we were only able to do two rounds. We waited more than half an hour per round and didn't even get one round. Because of this, I didn't think the €42.50 pp excluding drinks was worth it, and it was a waste. Otherwise, the dishes were tasty.

The sushi was anything but fresh… not tasty and tasteless. The udon noodles didn't even have a sauce and were tasteless too. Some people almost slammed the plates on the table; as soon as the dishes needed clearing, they just stuck their arms over your food (nice and hygienic)…. Definitely don't believe those TikTok reviews. We ordered something and 30 minutes later still hadn't received anything, so we just said we didn't want it anymore.. The atmosphere was uncomfortable. Paid 130.- for absolutely nothing. Highly not recommended!

I was invited by my girlfriend to eat sushi. The food was really delicious. Beautiful location in Barendrecht. Lovely view of the water and wonderfully relaxing music. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Worth repeating. Postscript: went with the same girlfriend. It was once again a wonderful experience.

The food was amazing. The wait between courses was short. And the staff are quick and easy to reach. The location is super beautiful and makes a good impression. I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine. And if you happen to have kids who only want fries, that is an option too. I will certainly love coming back here. (A small extra point is that the website you use to order shows you which item you ordered, but without a picture. As a result, we sometimes had to look up on the menu to see who ordered what, since we apparently don't have a good memory 😜.)

As Canadians visiting Holland for the first time, Japans Restaurant Mizumi was such a memorable part of our trip. We went for a family dinner and were introduced to their all-you-can-eat sushi concept—which is such a fun experience on its own—but what truly impressed us was the quality. And coming from Canadians who know sushi, that says something. Every dish was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The fish was top quality, the rice perfectly balanced, and each plate felt thoughtfully prepared. You could really tell they take pride in what they serve. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service made us feel right at home—even while being so far from it. If you’re visiting Holland or lucky enough to live here, Japans Restaurant Mizumi is an absolute must-try. Come hungry—you won’t regret it.

Due to the cramped tables, there is little to no privacy. Otherwise, a fine restaurant.

We had another delicious meal here. Everything is really tasty! The service is super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is fantastic and relaxing. We always go to Muzumi; for us, there is no other sushi place!

This is the second time I've been here and I'm very impressed. The food and service are really good. Many all-you-can-eat restaurants often lack one of the two, but not here. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside in the sun, and even when it was busy, I was served well and quickly. Highly recommended!!

Food: everything was pre-made and tasted like it had been prepared a week earlier. Service was okay, everything was on the table quickly (easy with pre-made sushi), but the complaints were not addressed. Atmosphere was also okay. The music was way too loud and the American trap playlist was incredibly out of place. Price: incredibly overpriced. 130 euros for downright disgusting food is really not worth it.

The food is delicious, but sometimes you have to wait 40 minutes for the next round to finally arrive, and when you order a drink, you never get a glass with it... and I also asked for rubber bands for the chopsticks, but they were never brought.

Cozy restaurant with delicious food. The only downside, in my opinion, is the prices of the drinks. Over €4.00 for a small bottle of soft drink is too expensive for such a small bottle. A beer should also be a bit cheaper. But otherwise, it's great.

When it is busy (weekend), you have to wait quite a long time before you can be seated. The staff also does not have time to welcome you, drinks are placed on the table next to each other, and things do not run as smoothly.

What was supposed to be a pleasant, fun evening ended on a somewhat disappointing note. My party and I had made a reservation, but upon arrival, we encountered a very long line of at least 10 minutes before we could be seated. Once we were seated, a waitress came over and placed the receipt with the QR code on the table without any explanation. We found this disappointing, as it was our first time visiting Mizumi. It took a very long time for us to receive our order(s), and some dishes were also missing. The price-quality ratio was not as we had expected. The sushi was sticky or sometimes even sour, which we found very disappointing. For us, therefore, it is not worth a repeat visit.

Beautiful location, fine restaurant, but unfortunately the food and service were not what we had expected. Drinks were forgotten to be served, bottles were served without glasses, and after asking, these were forgotten as well. Several meat dishes were raw, and the color of the tuna raised questions even among the wait staff (after pointing this out). For us, the first and the last time.

Cozy restaurant, the food was delicious, although sometimes it takes a while for the dishes to arrive. A downside is that the drinks are very expensive: a small bottle of Pepsi-Cola and water are €3.75.

Beautiful place, nice seating, but the food was truly disappointing! It took ages for our order to arrive, so we missed the two hours we had to eat. The sushi was too dry, soggy, and fell apart. We sent the hot appetizers back three times because they were really cold. We ordered a large bottle of water, but we simply got a refilled bottle (no sealed cap) for €6.50. The service was friendly. We expected more, especially for the price. We'll definitely not be eating sushi here again!

The sushi was okay, but nothing special. Unfortunately, the rice wasn't fully cooked and wasn't warm. When you check for a sushi item, you only get one piece instead of two. There's also a 13- to 15-minute wait before you can reorder. This is a bit too long for the first few rounds. However, the staff was super friendly. The surroundings, especially by the water, were truly beautiful. Depending on the day you go, parking at the restaurant itself can be difficult, but you'll need some luck. This also applies to the surrounding streets.

The food is great and the service is okay. However, charging €32 for tap water is absolutely ridiculous. There were six of us and we mostly drank water, but seriously, it comes out of the tap for pennies. It should be (almost) free, like in so many countries.

We ate here on Boxing Day. The food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. The restaurant was full, but the atmosphere wasn't too crowded. That was very nice.

Sometimes it took a little too long for a dish to be served, and sometimes the hot dishes were cold. Not all orders were received or served correctly. The positive side of things is that the food was very tasty. The atmosphere was great, and the staff was friendly.

It's a shame they no longer serve cocktails and mocktails at Christmas dinner, and we didn't get all the dishes we ordered several times. The banana sushi menu was also missing, which we always enjoy. But all in all, it was a great evening, and we received a nice mini bottle of prosecco upon leaving the restaurant!
