Café Corenmaet in Breda centrum

After waiting outside on the terrace for fifteen minutes, I called. I got an AI lady on the line who told me that the terrace was open. But my question was where the waitstaff was.....that's when she got confused. I just went inside to get the waitstaff myself. There, I was blithely told that someone had definitely been outside......I should have left immediately, but I was sitting with someone else and we were stretched.....when I asked for the lunch menu, I was told that the kitchen was still closed🫣. 11:45.. we were allowed to order, right, but the kitchen was still closed .. that really makes you feel welcome in the hospitality industry!

We were at eatery Corenmaet last Friday to celebrate our birthdays with dinner. However, this was very brief and we were back outside in no time. Things went completely wrong when we got our drinks, due to the rude waitress. She was completely unprofessional and wanted to lecture us, which is something you should never do, especially since it was her own fault. We paid for two drinks, which was also handled very unfriendly. We will never be coming back here. Apparently, they don't need customers who come for an elaborate meal. We went straight to Humphrey's afterwards and had a fantastic meal there. They made up for it completely, and we still had a very nice evening with the family!

It was a wonderful experience to come and eat here; the staff was very friendly.

Nice place for a cozy drink or meal. The cafe looks nice. Enjoyed a tasty beer and a delicious whiskey. I didn't hear my wife complain about her tea either. A portion of tasty bitterballen on the side. Small point of criticism... 7 bitterballen is a strange number.

Very nice terrace on the Havermarkt. Had a lovely lunch; the sandwiches were focaccia and they were really tasty. Generously filled, which isn't always the case. All in all, a nice meal and a pleasant time. Highly recommended if you're spending an afternoon in Breda!

Last week, we grabbed a drink on the terrace at the harbor market at the Corenmaet with my 11-year-old son, and that really isn't appreciated on every terrace. From the very first second, we felt extremely welcome thanks to the incredibly friendly (Asian) young lady who came to serve us. She genuinely enjoyed her work, and whenever she came by the table to bring something or take a note, she made a friendly/nice remark and even chatted with the little one. No deep conversations, just giving the feeling that you are welcome and that they are happy you are there......:) So, as a tip, please walk past the main market and sit at the harbor market if you really want to have a nice afternoon!

Tasty espresso martini. Buuut, there are visible mice present in the place. When we mentioned it to the waiter, they started rummaging through chairs and said: “What are we supposed to do about it? They’ve been living here for 100 years.”

The menu said 30.50, but we were charged 33 euros. When we mentioned it, they said “they couldn’t do anything about it” and we just had to pay it 😤 Never go there!!!

We ordered snacks after about 25 minutes, but it took ages to get served. The deep fryer was quite burnt and dried out... too long in the fryer? How hard is it? It's very expensive for a terrible snack menu and terrible service. The restrooms were filthy, smelly, and there was no toilet paper, which is a real pain for women. We won't be back.

The food was delicious. The service was great, very attentive and responsive. The atmosphere was good, but because the weather was so cold, it was quiet. We practically had the place to ourselves. But the staff and restaurant can't blame us for that. We went for the three-course dinner. The fish dish was delicious. The portions were generous, and we were absolutely stuffed. So, a lot of food for your money. And Tim, the waiter, is a real treat!

I was sitting here with two friends. One of my friends had sparkling water, and my other friend and I had sparkling water. That friend and I both had a bottle of wine together. We're all over 18. The friend with sparkling water was 19, but she didn't want to drink too much. Then she asked, "Can I have a little too?" So we poured some wine into her glass. Suddenly, the waiter came to us and told us to leave the terrace. They didn't ask anything, and they started being completely annoying. I didn't get it, so I just calmly asked her what was going on, but she didn't care at all. I'd never been treated so inhumanely as she was. If she had come to us normally, I would have understood and there wouldn't have been a problem. I just called her to pay, and she said, "I'm not stupid, to look at me challengingly." I was completely shocked. Then I asked, "Huh, what's this all about?" I'm completely lashing out at me. I've never had any experience with this before, but from now on, I'm definitely not coming here anymore!

We started with drinks outside, and because of the cold, we were given a platter inside. Inside, we had to wait a bit longer for our food, not that it was a big deal, but the staff brought it up and offered us a drink. We didn't want it, but it was taken off the bill anyway. Delicious food, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere.

Unexpectedly amazing food. We ended up here purely by chance. To be honest: we generally don't expect much from a cafe/restaurant. But the food was exceptionally good, especially for the price. Recommended: caprese cake with Serrano ham. The service was OK. We chatted a lot, but it wasn't too busy. The atmosphere was also great. The sound was a bit too loud for my taste, but the interior looked nice. A lovely terrace too. All in all, 5 stars because with the starter, main course, and a few drinks, we managed to stay under 90 euros. We don't often manage that anymore.

Such a lovely and wonderful occasion. We received a warm welcome, and because we had a birthday boy in our party, we immediately received a fun party cake with an ice cream fountain, courtesy of our own initiative.

Good selection of drinks and food, good and fast service, friendly staff, and they make the steak perfectly medium rare. I overheard another customer talking about his steak not being medium rare, but they overlooked the fact that daylight, the cut, and the thickness of the meat can affect the color. So it was just medium rare.

Had a lovely afternoon with friends on the sunny terrace. Great selection of beers, and the snacks were delicious. The steak was also excellent. I ordered it medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. In short, highly recommended for drinks and a bite to eat.

Very friendly and fast service, and a delicious lunch. Never had such a tasty foundation! One star less for the atmosphere because smoking is allowed on the entire terrace. Too bad because non-smokers also like to sit outside. Fortunately it was quiet and we were not bothered by the smokers.

We only sat on the terrace. It was terribly cold and we left early. The infrared lamps hang too far to the middle of the parasol, so if you sit on the outside, you don't notice it. Several guests wanted to sit closer to the lamp and moved from the table.

Delicious food, had to wait a while but it was quickly made up for by the sweet and helpful waiter.

Sorry dat ik dit moet zeggen maar in alle opzichten wil ik dit niemand aandoen. Eten was gewoon slecht, de malse buikspek zoals vermeld is een smaakloos speklapje, daarna ruim 1 1/2 wachten op het hoofdgerecht. Rib-eye met groenten. Groenten???? Een uit pot afkomstige punt paprika, krokante groentes uit de chipszak, onherkenbare chimichurri. De rib-eye van € 32,00 was taai, alhoewel er toch nog een vleugje smaak aan zat. Mijn tafelgenoten hadden vooraf een pannetje gamba's, dit was echt lachwekkend. Gamba's?, waar? Dit waren kleine garnalen uit het vriesvak van de supermarkt. Dessert uit angst maar overgeslagen. Bediening is zo zo. Meer een zaak voor studenten met een ruime beurs, niet voor liefhebbers van lekker eten.

Nice staff. Friendly and quick to serve, also nice to see. We started with a cup of coffee and it was really excellent. Then we went for a 12 hour break. I went for wild mushroom soup, highly recommended! The rest of lunch was good too. Details: the toilets are upstairs, simple but clean. The table where we sat, a round table at the back left, was very unstable, they should actually replace it or adjust it so that it stands firmly on the surface.

Op het terras een heerlijke salade burrata gegeten. Personeel zeer vriendelijk en correct (het viel mij gewoon op, het bestaat dus nog!) . En ondanks het drukke terras kwam de lunch vlot door. We gingen hier weg met het gevoel 'klant is koning'.

Had a delicious meal at Café Coremaet on April 13. This time we chose vegetarian. The vegetarian flammekuchen with roasted tomatoes arrived nice and warm and crispy. The main course consisted of the vegetable risotto, with goat cheese. Perfectly served and despite the large portion, completely finished! Delicious food!

Reserved at 7:00 PM. Our food isn't until 8:45 PM. We understand that it may take a little longer when it is busy, but we think waiting longer than an hour and a half is crazy. The atmosphere is pleasant.

Lentil soup was between clear and thick. No meal soup for €7.00. We waited a long time after ordering. Then the soup was not warm. It was taken back...in the microwave...whoops...done...I think it could be a bit more 'nice'.

Outside on the terrace, view of the large church. First a tasting and then 2 croquettes with bread and a spicy harissa sandwich. You really have to love that last one. Good coffee, but small cup. Good glass of pinot grigio. Good service. Correct and fast, she also took a nice photo of us.

Cozy café with friendly service, large and tasty portions of food, a wide choice of tasty drinks and an excellent price-quality ratio, especially in these times. The only downside we could think of: from about 9:30 PM the music is turned up very loud, so you can hardly hear each other anymore. I don't think the loud music is really necessary, because the café is mainly suitable for chatting and having drinks with each other and possibly playing a (card) game, for example.

Yesterday we ate and drank here with 6 people until the night. The service is very friendly and likes a joke, I ordered a steak myself and it was really delicious. The voucher at the end wasn't too bad, definitely a recommendation. I will definitely go here more often!
