Visited a very nice pub on market day. Located right on the market square and with a lovely outdoor seating area.

Delicious food, friendly and fast service.

Went for lunch there from Centre Parcs and great food with great outdoor sitting area.

It was fun and the food was tasty and affordable.

De Bel is the nicest cafe on the Market Square in Valkenswaard. The terrace is always full when the weather is nice, and for good reason. Inside, it is cozily furnished with seating, tables, and a pool table. The floor is paved with cobblestones and the decor is creative. The ambiance is typically Brabant-friendly with excellent service. JUST DO IT.

Went here 2nd of April, was amazing, I can not express to you how great the service was, they had live darts on and a dart table and a pool table, food was amazing, double bacon cheeseburger was the best burger I’ve ever had, would definitely recommend to everyone!!

The honest story (wouldn't eat here) The staff is super and gets an 8/10 from me; they serve quickly and are very friendly. The drinks selection is also good; they have plenty of alcohol for drinkers and also lots of 0.0 or 0.5% beer for a drink, so everything is available. Food: downright bad. I am quite an easy eater and like everything. It did go down okay, though. That says it all. The flavors are downright bad. The spareribs (specialty) were very dry and quite tough; otherwise, they had little flavor. My girlfriend didn't dare mention this, but she left a lot behind. I tasted it and it was indeed bad. (I don't often have such bad spareribs myself) I had the double burger myself. Huge burger, but bad meat, dry and no good sauce; bacon was also tasteless. (Worst burger I have eaten in recent years) Chicken satay: this one was pretty decent; slightly tender chicken breast with satay sauce, nothing special but not bad. For the type of place and the prices they charge versus the quality, I think everything is bad. Fortunately, the staff were very nice and made the evening a bit enjoyable. Very cheerful and hard-working guys/men.

Yes, after vacationing in the area for 30 years, we only discovered this fantastic eatery two months ago. We've been twice now and were very enthusiastic. We sat inside. It was very cozy, the prices were reasonable, the food was delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Today, Monday, December 29, 2025, we had a delicious meal at De Bel and thoroughly enjoyed the friendly, warm, and relaxed atmosphere. A special compliment goes to the two ladies who served our table. For me, they make all the difference. Thank you, ladies.

It can be quite lively here in the evenings, but during the week, like during the market, it's terrible. I've experienced it taking more than fifteen minutes for an order to be taken several times. Last time, we hit rock bottom when, after waiting half an hour, we finally went inside and paid. According to one of the staff, this was "because she hadn't noticed our drinks were empty." She could have just checked. It used to be fantastic, but now it's a shadow of its former self.

Nice atmosphere, a bit like a traditional Dutch café, with pleasant and very friendly staff. The prices are reasonable. The food was delicious, and we'll definitely be back.

We had a lovely meal here on Friday, Oct 31, before heading to De Hofnar. A fine, uncomplicated kitchen with well-prepared and flavorful menus. We went for the Carpaccio, Schnitzel, and Fish and Chips. Great staff who constantly check if everything is to our satisfaction. Delicious Nillis 0.0 and alcoholic Weizen. A fine eatery if you want a quick bite to eat or if you stay for drinks. For a cozy dinner, I find the atmosphere a bit less appealing... But it was fine at De Bel, and we would love to come back when we are in Valkenswaard again.

The nachos were pretty good. The stew was downright awful. We had to wait about an hour for the main course...

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the stew; it tasted like I was eating pure cloves. When I paid, I only received an apology and, "Oh yeah, round on the house," but no, I'm paying, and that's the full price. The nachos were okay, but the service took too long to get our main course. In short, I won't be returning.

We opted for the "Burgundian beer menu," which features delicious dishes paired with beers. The beers are carefully selected, and you receive a detailed explanation of each one. The service was friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

We were all adults sitting there having a drink, then we were asked for our IDs, we all politely handed them over and had them checked, everything was in order, they looked surprised when they saw that many of us were born in February, but we did get our drinks, we wanted to order our 2nd drink and the same waiter asked for our IDs so we did that politely again, while drinking our drinks we were interrupted by one of the waiters who asked if everything was okay and for our IDs AGAIN we asked why again we had already shown them twice to which he said angrily: I CAN BE DIFFICULT TOO, YOU. We were also constantly being stared at by the staff, so I finally went to the toilet and saw that waiter who reacted so angrily and asked for an ID to go to the toilet. I did it politely, but you don't do it 4 times within an hour and a half, do you? In short, here you can sit comfortably and relaxed on the terrace without looking older than 20

I ordered a double cheeseburger, but it was hard, compact, and absolutely disgusting. The worst cheeseburger I had in the world. We complained about it to another waiter, and he told us I must have been served a vegan cheeseburger; we still paid the full price for the shitty food.

Dinner was not special and relatively expensive. Schnitzel was small and prawns expensive. Salad that is included in the menu is super small. Too bad. Service and service is good.

Café De Bel... A household name in Valkenswaard. With a large selection of beers and delicious food, it is the perfect place to enjoy yourself. The Bel Burger is definitely recommended — juicy and tasty. A must-visit for lovers of good beer and good food!

De Bel scores high. There is always that same table free for me. Coincidence? Doesn't matter, drank a flute quite anonymously. Hertog Jan, asked for a Grand Prestige, they have a drinks menu. Heineken taboo, probably an excellent review. Thursday always busy, cozy, market day and then six stars.

Great atmosphere, great drinks. Great appetizers (bruschetta with tomatosla was exceptional)...but the mains were a major let down. Burger was a cheap frozen hockey puck without flavor and that weird gummy texture you only get from pressed meat. Pasta with cream sauce was...a soup. Never seen sauce so copious, flavorless and...odd.

Delicious food on the covered terrace. Friendly service. It was busy on the terrace, but luckily there was still a spot available without a reservation. Highly recommended.

We went to this place on a relatively quiet Sunday night. There were two adults, two teenagers and a child. We sat down, a good number of people in, but lots left while we were there. We ordered our food, and asked for bitterballen while we waited for the mains. Bitterballen took 35 minutes to arrive and the food then took a further 35 minutes. This was really unacceptable, and after chasing the waiter we were told food would be out shortly. 25 minutes later it came. Food was nice enough, but ruined by the excessive wait with no communication!

Kitchen quality mark, with beautiful dishes, excellent service, no lack of atmosphere. Suitable for couples or several people. The place to feel rich, entertainment venue, often busy, but cozy. Recommended, leave the kids at home, adult advice because... better for peace and quiet 🦉

Enjoy a mega beer menu every week with something new on tap, super friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. The Bel plank is highly recommended, it serves perfect snacks with homemade herb butter. Definitely a favorite, recommended for anyone who likes good beer and good food!

Meer dan een uur op onze drie broodjes moeten wachten. Er werd absoluut niks gecommuniceerd. Ook toen onze totaal niet moeilijke bestelling gebracht werd geen enkele communicatie of excuses. Broodjes vielen ook zwaar tegen. Twee kleine kroketten op twee dunne sneetjes, die praktisch van de supermarkt hadden kunnen komen. Toen we gingen afrekenen kregen we pas excuses nadat we klaagden. We kregen nieuwe drankjes aangeboden, maar we wilden absoluut weg. Vervolgens gewoon de volledige rekening moeten betalen. Bediening had ook kunnen aanbieden om onze al bestelde drankjes van de rekening te halen. Overigens was er meer dan genoeg personeel om het bijna volle terras te bedienen. Geen enkele reden dus dat we slecht bediend zijn. Absoluut geen aanrader.

As a resident of Valkenswaarde, I have been coming to De Bel for years. At De Bel you notice that hospitality and service still exist in the catering industry. Reception is always warm. Service-oriented and professional staff. Show a lot of enthusiasm in their work. You feel very welcome and you also get the feeling that attention is being paid to you. Unfortunately, this is disappearing in many other catering establishments these days. Keep it up!

Super Resturant!, I have never been to Café De Bel as a Randstad resident from Amstelveen 😏 and coincidentally we had an outing and had just come from the Christmas market in Belgium. We got hungry and thought we would have dinner near Eindhoven! And that's when we found cafe de bel in Valkenswaard! We were received very nicely by an employee and eventually ordered a Carpaccio starter. I have had many carpaccios but this one was honestly one of the tastiest ever made! Also with garlic sauce! Afterwards I ordered a super delicious hamburger with FRIET, yes, FRIET on the side because it's not fries 🙃, and that was also divinely delicious, thank you very much! Had fun with my father and a friend. I certainly have no complaints to report, it was simply delicious! Greetings from Donny! 😃.

Hamburgers, tarte flambée and American pancakes were good. But it took a very long time for the food to arrive. Espresso was all the quicker. The tarte flambée was very small, about half the size as usual.
