We have been coming to Groningen on Good Friday for years. A visit to Kalle Joncker is mandatory. Super nice person Very good service. Delicious brandy beer. And tasty treats for when you're hungry Very nice shop. We'll be back Until then, keep it up

Maybe this is not the nicest pub in Groningen. But maybe so.

The rain is not a problem, there are umbrellas and warm light. I liked the coffee and beer

They were helped very well and the drinks were also good, but the other guests were quite noisy (in the reviews you should read food as drinks)

Heeeel erg jammer dat we 3 euro moesten betalen voor een glas water uit de kraan!

Fantastic traditional Dutch pub (NL: bruine kroeg) with lots of different craft beers. A lot of local people come here frequently. Staff: Feel free to have a seat at the bar and enjoy a chat with both the really friendly regular visitors and the competent bartenders. Or sit down at one of the tables and play a game or have a chat with your company. The bartenders are very attentive to your drinks and will offer you something when your glass is empty, but won't be offended if you skip a round (or 3). Drinks: Mostly come here for a good beer, staff can advise you. There is an ever changing menu of about 10 craft beers from both domestic and international established brands on draft. Next to that they also have a set menu of 60+ bottled/canned beers. Also, the basic options for hot drinks (coffee, tea etc.). Wines in different modes. There is a wide variety of distilled: both domestic and foreign, which the staff is also well-informed on, so a good gin-tonic is also an option. Food: Got plenty of typical Dutch "borrelhappen". Panini's and tostis are also an option for the quick lunch appetite. Don't order coffee and tostis after dinner time: they're just like Italians with cappuccino after breakfast: after dinner, just order beer and borrelhappen. Prices: Really good for Groningen (NL: schappelijk!) Concluding: Great place to have a drink and enjoy a good night. You can enjoy the company of the bartenders and the regulars here at the bar, but having privacy during an intimate conversation at the table is also an option. Anyhow, you'll be served with a smile and have a great night!

Mooi café op een rustige plek even uit het centrum. Vriendelijk personeel, zeker een aanrader als je in de buurt bent.

Leuke plek om verjaagd te worden door de eigenaar.

Mooie ouderwetse bruine kroeg. Deze zaken moeten als monument behandeld worden. Prima kopje koffie op het terras gedronken, bediening, eigenaar kwam sympathiek over.

Super leuke klassiek kroeg met prachtig terras

We kwamen hier op een vrijdagmiddag. De oude vriendelijke bejaarde eigenaar had net het frituurvet verschoond en ontving ons allerhartelijkst. Hij( ervan uitgaande dat hij zo aangesproken wil worden) voorzag ons van de heerlijkste bieren met bijpassend garnituur. Het enige waar we minder tevreden over waren, waren de bitterballen. Die van de Hanos zijn een stuk beter. De loempia's daarintegen waren wel heel lekker. We komen graag weer.

We went there with like 30 people (we had a reservation). The service was quick and the bartender was really nice to talk to. I am not a fan of high tables, but they also have low ones so it's a good mix.

Ik kwam met wat bedenkingen de kroeg binnen, maar na een biertje of twee was mijn twijfel compleet weg. Een fijne sfeer met een barman die weet hoe hij zijn publiek moet bedienen. Voornamelijk zijn uitstekende muzieksmaak bracht de sfeer er goed in. Kun je ooit genoeg Gerard Joling horen?

Heerlijk ongedwongen een prachtig afscheidsfeest gehad van een collega die afscheid genomen heeft , wat perfect georganiseerd was !!!

Stay open quite late which is nice sometimes when you feel that the night is young but all other bars are closed.

Leuke tent. Barman had iets geduldiger mogen zijn bij het opnemen van de bestelling.

Prachtig terras. Binnen een mooie bruine kroeg. Het was wel wat aan de stille kant voor een zaterdagavond.

Had a lovely small table in the sun. Next time I'll sit further from the road, though. Cars fly around that corner, and the exhaust from the scooter and motorbike traffic does not pair well with beer.

Quiet café in the city centre of Groningen. Great location if you want to drink something without all the noise and crowds of the Vismarkt while still staying in the binnenstad. But my cappuccino wasn't the best, the foam was not firm enough and the coffee was watered down.
