Café "De Nieuwe Stek" in Dapperbuurt

If you want to escape the “rat race” vibes of AMS to a little old and relaxed time capsule, that’s the perfect place.

We had some beers, the coldest beer in all of Amsterdam, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The waitress offered us some really nice snacks. Congratulations and Happy New Year!

Popped in for breakfast. Although they don't really do breakfast, the friendly woman offered to do scrambled eggs on the bread they make toasties from. That was fine but €28 for 2 half-full cups of coffee and eggs on toast? Really? Probably much cheaper if you're a local.

I don't know what others think, but I'm very happy with it. Applies to both guests and staff.

This is still a cozy, traditional Dutch pub. I've been coming here ever since I worked in the Dapperbuurt and Indische Buurt neighborhoods in the early 1980s. It was my second local pub back then, next to my first one on the corner of Wagenaarstraat and Dapperstraat at Jimmy's. (The latter no longer exists.) The interior, and therefore the atmosphere, has largely remained the same. The cat has been replaced a few times over the years, but the current owners and other staff are still incredibly friendly. Coffee, snacks, beer, wine—everything is reasonably priced. Hats off! I hope you'll be around for many years to come. What would the market be without you!

Een fijne stek om neer te strijken voor een lekkere bak koffie met een heerlijke punt appelgebak voor een fijne 'normale' prijs: daar loop je voor om. Vriendelijk, vrolijk personeel en dat wat zorgt voor een gezellige sfeer.

Een geweldig fijn en warm cafe, je wordt er spontaan opgenomen door de bezoekers en het bar personeel, echt een super gezellig cafe, ik ga daar zeker vaker naar toe. Ik ben geboren in Amsterdam ben vetrokken uit Amsterdam in 1983 en woon in Arnhem maar cafe de nieuwe stek in amsterdam Dapperstraat,, (dappermarkt) is echt gezellige.
