Great place to watch Ajax. They served free rookworst with mustard during half time. The classic ossenworst is a treat. Game comments by other visitors makes the game lively.

The manager (the older man) was very unprofessional and the food was really bad. I absolutely do not recommend this cafe-restaurant.

Came in here yesterday to escape the sun and grab a beer. Café De Poort has a very nice interior and friendly staff - an Amstel vaasje is priced at just €3.80 which is great on the Harlemmerstraat. Nice little outdoor seating and dining area on the street so you can watch the world go by. Thanks to the team and I will be back!

Spent round two of my brother's bachelor party, also enjoyed a roasting workshop with the group. Very cozy shop, for us Tukkers a nice experience of the real Amsterdam atmosphere.

We sat in the outside seating area. All the tables had planted flowers on the tables. The service was quick and friendly. The food was enjoyable too. I had the Farmer's yoghurt and partner had a goats cheese, walnuts and honey sandwich.

Great little place to stop! Enjoyed a couple beers here in the sun sitting outside very nice peaceful watch the traffic go past. I also ordered a ham & cheese toasty with chips they were really nice. Mayo & ketchup supplied so didn’t have the ask ! Overall really good experience

I had to wait 20 minutes for my cocoa. By the time my friend got his coffee, I had already finished my cocoa. He got his food pretty quickly. Until I got my food. My friend had already drunk it and eaten it. So service is rather semi-good. And the cook is very unpleasant :( The place is very cute.

Nice old dutch brown bar. Owner/bartender is very unkind - slyly racist towards people who aren’t dutch despite spending lots of money for a birthday party there.

Been here for a party. Was very pleasant. Nice atmosphere and lots of space.

I have drinks with friends at 11pm Friday. The bar is nice, but the waitress is extremely bad. I don't know if she is racist or just rude, she is very impatient when we order and when the drinks arrive she just slams the drink on the table instead of serving it to everyone. And she delivered the wrong drink.

Had a great pub quiz! First a nice meal and then brainteasers and that was not easy 😉!

We had the best time at this wonderful cafe! A huge group of people gathered here to start of Kings Day and we could not have been helped out in a better way. Amazing location, food, service, atmosphere... it was all really super fun.

Lovely, friendly, locals bar. Somewhere for a quiet drink during the day if you need a break from the Amsterdam coffee shop culture. Looks like it's well set up for some interesting evening entertainment, but we didn't sample this.

Perfect authentic Amsterdam coffee. The space is very careful and elegant. You feel in a movie space. It has photos of the port of Amsterdam at different times. The triple poorter beer, the house beer was delicious, and for Amsterdam the price is good. We ate Shashuka and the typical Dutch bitterballen, it was a success. I don't remember the Dutch waiter's name but he was very friendly and smiling. Special congratulations to Yusuf the cook, he treated us with love, luckily he knew Spanish and gave us very good recommendations for tourists. I will definitely return to Amsterdam and of course I will stop by Café de Poort Amsterdam.

Have lunch in a cozy cafe among some regulars. A delicious Amsterdam sandwich and a glass of red wine. All delicious!!

I really love meatball from this cafe but sometimes please serve quickly (don’t forget the order from customers), make sure your foods warm, and the price is the same for everyone.

J'y suis allée juste pour goûter une bière locale, je suis repartie pleins de souvenirs. L'ambiance était vraiment top, j'étais seul mais j'y ai fait des rencontres très agréables. Les barmans sont vraiment super! Une soirée mémorable, foncez! :)

Lovely relaxed bar with a great atmosphere. Great beer selection, hot drinks are good. I enjoyed a few drinks and a few games of pool in the afternoon. Would highly recommend.

A friend of mine and I had just performed at a music festival in Appingedam. We gave ourselves a day to enjoy Amsterdam on our way home to Chicago. Café De Port was a simple solution to a dinner need, but it was a charming and filling representation of our trip through this venerable and interesting city. The food selections were very cosmopolitan and came to us very quickly. The beer selections were interesting for two non-beer drinkers. The bartender was willing to learn a new drink which he was unfamiliar with, which went a long way for street cred from me.

If you are looking for a local pub when visiting Amsterdam, this is the place. Local music local folks, local beers and food. Everything about this place is great. We went here many times during our stay.

Good prices and nice people. Not the usual toury behaviour. Feels like a Bar locals would visit. Had some tasty food, drinks and played pool.

Ja heel gezellig, wij zijn er altijd als Andre vrolijk optreed, dan hebben we een leuke middag en avond.

We hebben hier een met liefde klaargemaakte warme chocolademelk met slagroom gedronken.

Wil je naar een echt Amsterdams café? Dan moet je naar de Poort. Daar lijkt de tijd te hebben stil gestaan. Publiek: Amsterdamse senioren. Van die echte barhangers. Leuk!

Authentic traditional pub, with very friendly service and yummy kroketten and vege bitterballen (veg croquette balls). Our table by the window was directly across from gorgeous old buildings, and a great spot to sit and watch people walking and cycling past. The street didn’t feel very touristy here and we were the only tourists in the pub.
