Staff is caring and friendly. We really enjoyed all the different cocktails we tried, “Puerto Escondido” was our favorite. Food was nice (7/10), but we definitely had higher expectations on their tacos and we would not recommend the chimichurri meat. On the other hand, all of their sauces were on point 1000/10 🌶️

Promised a lot ... My beef taco was inedible. Waste of money. Complained, to the waitress she offered 50percent off my meal. She was appropriately apologetic.

This place has a nice vibe, a good selection of tequila and mezcal and tasty margaritas. I gotta say though, €32 for five (5) small tacos, which are arguably not enough to feed one person, is a bit too much.

These tacos were not normal. Was completely full but had to order new ones. Aram and Enzo really set this up great! Definitely come back here, recommended to everyone.

Mains took 30-35 mins to come after we had our starters, and we had to ask where it was, and then it arrived cold. Also took 20 mins for our drinks to come at one point, and we had to ask the waitress 3 times for tap water. It was busy but service was generally pretty poor - one waitress gave us lemon infused tequila as an apology which was a nice touch, but overall wouldn’t return. Also overpriced for what it is

First time here and I was very impressed. The food, drinks and atmosphere was spectacular! The owner was especially welcoming. We ordered the jerk chicken and it was delicious. The tequila espresso martini was amazing. The service was a tad slow, but they made up for it with kindness and generosity. Drinks were flavorful and innovative. I RECOMMEND.

The shop was Popetorn, and I was lucky enough to find a spot at the bar, but I didn't regret it. The bartender really put on an entertaining show and I wasn't disappointed with the food either. I had Topos with the Jamaica Jerk Chicken and churros for dessert, it was all very tasty. I would love to come back

The vibe was nice, but the service was a mess. Hoping it’s because they just rolled out their new menu? We waited over an hour for our tacos, followed up three times, and then found out our server forgot to put the order in — no real apology or anything (the other server was super kind and helpful though!). Drinks took forever too. I get that service in Amsterdam can be slow, but this was next-level frustrating. Even though the food was decent, I wouldn’t visit again. Chicken and pork tacos were good and the El Diablo salsa was fantastic, but skip the steak and black beans.

A friend and I did the WOGO cocktail tour together. This was our second stop. When we entered the bar, it was crowded, luckily there was 1 table left. The staff indicated that we would have an hour time for our drinks, but could not stay longer. This was no problem for us. We waited 50+ minutes for our Magarita cocktails… 3 waiters came to us in the meantime to ask if we had ordered yet. When we had our drinks we left after 20 minutes. The staff was kind, but the experience itself a bit disappointing.

This is a great Mexican restaurant with great food and a selection of tequila and mezcal—a separate shout-out to Fabio and Martijn for a great job.

I really have a hard time understanding the rave reviews about this ‘restaurant’. The staff is friendly and the margaritas are decent, that’s it. Food ready in 3 minutes when we have barely started the aperitifs, the reason it goes so quickly is that it cooks very little per minute and is reheated in record time. The result is tasteless dishes and some are cold by the time you swallow the first tapas. The establishment's outfit is really poor, the mini outdoor terrace is loose and the interior is neglected. In short, either there is a change of ownership or there is a major neglect. Thanks to the bartender for his sympathy and the good margaritas!

We where here Yesterday! What an expiernce. The staff is so friendly and good price kwality balans. Food was authentic mexican and The Cocktails was the best i had in whole Amsterdam and i live here for 11 year now.

We had to wait 30 minutes despite having a reservation, which was disappointing. The service wasn’t great, the team seemed a bit overwhelmed. The food was decent but nothing special. Fortunately, bartender Tascher really stood out and kept the vibe going. A real highlight in an otherwise average experience...

We went for my birthday, a surprise from my wife she told then when she booked it was for my birthday. We arrived and got put on a table which was cramped and you could barely fit on. They didn’t have the drink we both wanted. The food was ok but not great and probably one of the worst Mexican tasting places I’ve been to. The couple next to us kept moaning as their food wasn’t coming out and had been waiting a long time. Then a bartender came over seemed to maybe know them and started giving them free shots and another drink, talking with them and then said they don’t have to pay for any food. The service was poor nothing was said or done for my birthday. I wouldn’t recommend going here. Much better places to go in the city.

My wife and I had made a dinner reservation some weeks ahead of time. A few days prior to our booking we received an email saying on our evening the concept had been changed to Jamaican. We had the opportunity to change our booking wo Tacos & Tequila next door. I responded to the email saying we would like to change our reservation to next door - we both love Mexican food and margaritas!! On arrival they had no record of our booking and said we could wait 45 minutes or dine next door which we decided to try. It was their opening night and despite having no menus, no Red Stripe (both of which had not arrived in time) and being the only ones in the restaurant decided to stay. The lady running the restaurant told us the options and we went with Jerk Chicken and plantain as a side dish. We went to Jamaica this summer for our holidays and can 100% say that their Jerk Chicken is AMAZING!!!!! Our only negative was that it could have done with more Jerk sauce - it was that good! We had a couple of drinks - one of which was Rum punch. The drinks were nice but nothing special. Overall we were happy we stayed to have dinner and I am sure when everything is 100% operational it will be a fantastic venue. If you want to experience true Jamaican cuisine then don't hesitate to go. Really lovely people and incredibly tasty food!

Never heard of De Margaritabar before. Get to know this cozy place in Amsterdam with WOGO, all the way from Rotterdam and Almere. It was something different again. The entrance already has a nice and inviting atmosphere, which continues inside. The interior is attractive, dark with lights and candles placed in strategic places. A little too little light to be able to read the menu properly at the bar, so a flashlight on my phone offered a solution. It is narrow, but that doesn't make it any less cozy. I liked it there, you still had some privacy. Since we had been served drinks beforehand, we were able to take a seat at the bar straight away. Perfect view of the bartender and how our mocktails and drinks from the other guests were mixed. There are plenty of staff around (NL and ENG speaking), friendly and helpful. The food is mainly based on Mexican cuisine, with a stray dish like Jerk chicken, which I thought did not look Mexican. The mocktails were tasty, with dried fruit, although we had not received the WOGO Matcha cocktail offer, my group and I only realized this afterwards. But that was not allowed to spoil the situation. The bar stools are quite high (for short people <1.55 m), a bit difficult, especially if you are also wearing a short skirt ;). Pants are more convenient. Later that evening my group had back problems and asked if we could sit at a table, which was not possible. The tables are reserved for when you come to eat there. As an alternative, she was offered a stool with a backrest. Very attentive from the blonde waitress/manager. We stayed longer, which was a good thing, because it was pouring rain outside. The music matched the atmosphere, pleasant to hear, but a bit on the loud side. My group and I could not always follow each other, especially when the bartender was mixing cocktails and tapping the mixing cups against the edge of the counter or dropping the ice cubes into a bucket or glass. Then we enjoyed our mocktail and nachos. Highly recommended if you want something small to eat or for a date or with a small group. Oh yes, and the prices of the mocktails and various dishes are also reasonable.

Very polite and friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. The food was presentation was great but unfortunately we didn't quite like the taste. The tacos (we tried 4 different types), the empanadas and the beef chimichurri were all very heavy and not fresh. I'd go go again for drinks only.

Shauna was an amazing server! From walking us through the menu, to providing her own recommendations, to even letting us know they have their own tequila line! Super helpful, even provided amazing recommendations of events in the area as tourists! Food was amazing, tacos were 10/10 & the wings were just as great! Would definitely come back again!

The food was really good and it’s not really expensive. It was crowded so I recommend that you book a table beforehand so that you can get a spot. The workers were really nice but the service was sometimes a little clumsy but no worries, it goes with the fun and chill ambience ! Great for a nice and fun night ! You can share dishes easily as well ! Enjoy !

Very beautiful place to enjoy some delicious margaritas and Mexican food! Tacos, nachos and whole dishes with delicious flavors! Price is relatively higher than at other places but the quality of the dishes and the super friendly service is in my opinion all worth it. The churros for dessert are outstanding! I was very pleased to see the different tequilas and even Mezcal in the menu! I recommend you trying some of these good quality drinks! Happy to be back here again soon!

A cute Mexican place tucked away. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and really enjoyed the tacos here. A good restaurant to visit before concerts or shows in the area. So I’m definitely saving this to visit again. The service was so great all the hosts were hospitable and friendly.

We went here yesterday on saturdaynight! Had a cozy table in the back! We enjoyed the taco’s and cocktails! Worth a visit!

We saw this place from the outside and it looked very nice but when we ordered arepas and patacones and none of them were good. We never had smaller arepas in our life and the patacones were sweet when patacones are supposed to be salty. Anyway we left hungry and for the price you don’t expect to feel that way we payed 55 euros for mini arepas (see the pictures)

Unfortunately the food here doesn’t match the service or the vibes of the place. The tacos were extremely dry, we asked for queso and got nachos which were super expensive, and considering all the great Mexican restaurants in Amsterdam this place isnt worth the hype.

Came in here drenched and wet. Lovely welcome from a fab American waitress who was very attentive and kind. Made sure we got dry! Food was nice but hospitality was second to none!
