Extremely rude staff. I greeted them politely and was treated as if I couldn't even see the light of day. Such a shame!

If you like whisky and want to sample different ones from around the world this is the place to go! Only two nights in Amsterdam and both night I had to come here to try whisky I never had! The staff is super friendly and will give you great recommendations!

Rude staff, let me explain. On Wednesday evening, a friend and I were waiting for a pop-up at the record store next door. My friend and I waited outside for three hours, and after a while, I needed to use the restroom. So, I thought your beautiful cafe would be the best place to go. When I walked in, I said hello to the bartender, and he greeted me back. I'd already spotted the restroom and headed for it. At that moment, the bartender approached me and spoke to me in a very condescending manner. I wasn't allowed to use the restroom because I wasn't a customer; there's no such thing as a rule. The bartender's tone was condescending and very arrogant. It's a shame, though; he spoke to me as if I were 14 and absolutely shouldn't be there, even though I'd simply been being friendly. I hope this is clear now, and perhaps something can be done to change it. Thanks in advance.

This is a sweet whiskey bar. I couldn't resist stopping by. They have a very wide selection of whiskeys. The bartender explains them all very well. I'm so glad I stopped by. Anyone interested in whiskey should definitely check it out.

Great place! My girlfriend and I came for a drink and received an excellent welcome! The servers are passionate, knowledgeable, and gave us great advice. There's a huge selection and the prices are attractive. I highly recommend it; we'll be back before the end of our trip. Thanks again for a great time!

A very well stocked Whiskey bar, knowledgeable staff and good atmosphere. The menu isn't sorted in to regions, it's organised in "taste profiles" which is unusual.

Amazing little place with a great selection of Whiskeys from around the world. Its great for people who love their whiskeys and also need a peaceful place to enjoy it especially in such a crowded city full of noisy bars. They even have amazing choice of beers to choose from. Its basically a heaven for Whiskey lovers.

Great bar sorry we found it late in our trip. Both myself and my wife like our whiskey and got fed up with the lack of selection in the hotel. So a quick google search brought us to this great bar. I was also able to try a Octomore in dram form which i have never seen before. Lots to choose from but stuck with varieties of the Islay Whiskies as we like the peaty ones. If you like whiskey this i sthe place in Amsterdam

Hands down the best whiskey bar this planet has to offer. Michael, the gentleman, saint, scholar, and proprietor, is a delightful wealth of knowledge on everything that is whiskey. Truly an exceptional experience! Made us a little cheese board and paired everything to match. Also showed us the, what I can only call, beer caramelized experience which was an incredible thing to say the least. Michael, thank you!

What a hidden gem of a bar to find in Amsterdam. It’s easy to miss, so make sure to keep your eyes open for this great whisky bar. Michael-our bartender (I think he is also the owner) was knowledgeable and ensured that we had a great tasting of 3 different whiskies. The dark chocolate was a great combination for us all. I had two colleagues with me who were whisky novices and they really enjoyed the education. I enjoyed the selection, even finishing the evening off with a wonderful fine and rare whisky. I am looking forward to my next trip to Amsterdam so that I can return!

Last Sunday we did a whiskey tasting at Cafe Zilt. Had a lovely seat and tasted 6 different whiskeys. Highly recommended!

This place is a hidden gem in plain sight. I don't come that often, but when I do, the owner always makes me feel very welcome.

Do yourself a favor Hands down the nicest pub I've ever been to. I haven't been there for 10 years, but when I was recently on the Zeedijk and we walked in, everything turned out to be exactly the same; everything is correct, apparently nonchalant but with a sharp eye for detail in hospitality, craftsmanship, service and perfection. Rocking whiskeys and even better advice. Tireless and just as charming as I remember, the staff (and especially host Michael) ensures that every tapped glass is a perfectly tapped glass, and every advice about whiskey and beer is a small therapeutic session where a mirror is held up to you: 'yes, you're absolutely right man, I like this!' Whether you bring a date, a good friend, your mother-in-law or a business associate... It's nice to score points anyway, isn't it nice?

The right pub in the right place with good staff. Extensive and varied beer list. A special highlight is the red-hot ball with which the foam in the beer is caramelized. There are various types of whiskey for enthusiasts.

Recommended! Expert and friendly explanation about the different whiskeys in the tasting. Cozy atmosphere. Seating space is a bit tight. Luckily no music. Had to move my reservation at the last minute due to illness; it was not difficult to do so.

Whiskey Bar Zilt is honestly fantastic. In the heart of Amsterdam, but as homely as at your friends' home. For large groups, small groups or just 1 on 1. I have been here every year for a tasting and I continue to be amazed by the pleasure, convenience and conviviality with the amazing discoveries of whisky!

Today I experienced a whiskey tasting at Café Zilt and what a wonderful experience it was! We went for "the unique" and it was indeed a wonderfully unique trip, with tasty, appropriate snacks. Michael took us through all the exclusive things Scotland has to offer and adapted the tasting to my personal taste. He did all this with a lot of background information and even more enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge, culminating in the Coal Ila of the SSMS. If you know, you know. ;) Michael, thank you for this great evening full of goodies and fun and your birthday present, we will visit you again soon!

This experience had everything you need in a whisky tasting set up. We tried real good whisky, had some yummy bites with it, and the highlight of the experience was the expert; Micheal, He definitely made the experience great, highly recommended.
