They constantly invent new cocktails (and I really mean new—they pride themselves on constant experimentation and not borrowing from anywhere else). Wow! Hidden away in the basement of a hotel, this 1920s style cocktail bar is sensational, the cocktails were delicious, the service was exceptional and the presentation of each drink explaining the origin elevated the experience. If you’re Amsterdam, run do not walk to Fitz bar!

Absolutely impressive hidden gem in Amsterdam. Great atmosphere, they change the theme from time to time, I was there with my friends and we had a wonderful time. Cocktails are really great. The staff really know what they are doing and are very friendly. They are having fun while prepare your drinks. Would definitely go again!

Absolutely incredible. I had one night in Amsterdam and I came here and I’ll never regret it. Service was by far the best I’ve ever received. The drinks were worth every penny. Give this place a few years and I just know it will be up there as one of the best cocktail restaurants in the world. I’ve been to sips and can say with confidence this place is much better. Giovanni was the person who initially served me and he was personable and professional. Luca and Jan were great at making cocktails and the relationship between all of them made it feel like a genuinely great place to be. The manager Nick was present and professional throughout everything. Never been to a bar so greatly organized while supplying premium cocktails and having top tier customer service. Will without a doubt come back and will recommend this place to everyone I know.

As a cocktail bar, it’s really impressive I definitely recommend it. They have a wide variety of cocktails, and apparently they make all their own syrups and infusions in-house. We really enjoyed the drinks. The truffle chips and olives were a great pairing with the cocktails. It’s located on the lower ground floor of the Pillows Hotel. Overall, we had a great experience. The atmosphere is a bit dark and moody, but that might be exactly what some people are looking for.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere at the Fitz Bar. Jan Lukas stood out with his creative cocktails and genuine passion for what he does — it definitely added something special to the evening. Great spot for a relaxed but refined night out. Would happily come back.

Nos alojamos en el Pillows Hotel durante 4 días y celebramos nuestra última noche en el bar del hotel. Fue lo más destacado de nuestra estancia en el hotel. El ambiente es animado 1920 's jazz decoración. Los camareros eran muy amables y me ayudaron a seleccionar las bebidas que me gustaron del extenso menú. ¡Grita a Giovanni que era tan dulce! Nos dejó probar sus recetas especiales de temporada como el tulipán martini (sorprendentemente brillante y refrescante) y su limoncello casero. Sentados en el bar vimos el arte y la ciencia de la mixología. Los sabores, aromas y presentación se hicieron con arte. Nos aseguraremos de visitar de nuevo!

What a hidden gem!!!! This is a wonderful place The staff is so welcoming and friendly and Luca made extra especial for us! The cocktail menu has a really nice variety of drinks and I was impressed with the one I selected. This is a must go.

Mega original cocktail bar in 1920s style. Completely finished.

Very stylish cocktail bar. The service is great and very individual. Ambiance is relaxed and very pleasant for long conversations. There are really high quality drinks and lots of choice.

The bar is so classy, elegant and beautiful! The bartenders are very attentive and knowledgable, they gracefully explain the menu with a nice storytelling. The combinations are endless. Great place for a date or for meeting your partner or cozy small group reunions.

I could not recommend Fitz’s Bar enough. If you are looking for superb service, along with inventive cocktails whose beautiful presentation matches their taste, Fitz’s is the place to be. Outside of the high level of attention they provided, Luca and Eric were the friendliest bartenders I’ve encountered in Amsterdam. They take pride in what they do, and I had an amazing evening. What I intended as a one and done drink stop turned into an hours long visit. The moody, sleek atmosphere is perfect for a date or special occasion. And the drinks are definitely worth a stop for anyone serious in cocktails.

10/10 (or in Google's case, 5/5). We were staying at Pillows, and were so glad to discover this bar just a walk away from our room. The bartenders were wonderful, and the drinks both beautiful and well-made. The low-lit vibe and old-school music creates a nice atmosphere, and each drink is explained and curated perfectly upon serving.

This was my last bar on a 6 country tour and it was one of my favorites. Bartenders for great, drinks were delicious and the ambulance was perfect.

Visité el Fitz desde que me alojé en el hotel Pillows, pero noté allí muchos visitantes de otros lugares. Me gustó mucho el equipo trabajando allí y tuve el placer de charlar con Eric y Nick. Ya que Nick es manager no está disponible el 100% del tiempo, pero tuve la suerte de probar su cóctel característico "Essence N* 5" (hecho esta vez por Eric) y algunos otros grandes cócteles, algunos de los cuales Nick improvisó para mí en el acto. Me gustó que los cócteles se fueran desarrollando con el tiempo, no solo entregaban sabores interesantes, sino texturas también y se sentían ligeros en una lengua por la noche y en una cabeza a la mañana siguiente. También grandes conversaciones, ya que hay un montón de similitudes en los trabajos de camarero y sacerdote. Sentí que estaba entre amigos que eran geniales en el bar. My expectations were high and they still managed to surpass them. One of the best places I've been to and I don't believe I'll visit a better bar than this. I'm just lucky I don't live closer because I'd visit each and every day otherwise.

We visited Fitz’ Bar in Amsterdam in a sunny April before dinner Unfortunately terrace was closed hence we sat in the garden. We had Essence no: 5; Natural Sanat; Noam Craft Lager, Brouwerij ‘t IJ IPA staff brought olives and truffle chips Overall we had a nice time. The bill was c. EUR 53, highly recommended it

A luxurious cocktail bar in an old posh hotel. Atmosphere is relaxing, staff is caring, ingredients have good quality. They offer a lot of interesting cocktails with unexpected combinations of tastes. I recommend to try at least one special cocktail! And of course they can make classical ones. But it’s expensive, be prepared to pay ~20 euro per cocktail. But it worth it, especially if your goal is to enjoy and not to simply get drunk. Because for the second a regular bar will work.

Fitz's is truly a world class bar. All the staff made us feel right at home, walking us through their incredibly thoughtful, masterful cocktails. Tried many cocktail bars in Amsterdam. Many good ones. But these guys are exceptional. If you want to taste something different, you should come here.

It was finally a crazy amazing experience in Amsterdam again. The cocktail scene needed this place! Nick and his team are bringing their best to the east! Tried almost all the menu and our minds were blown! The stories behind the drinks are so cool, our taste buds were having a ball! Big bravo guys!

New cocktail bar in the east. I had to give it a try. Went here on Saturday evening after a movie. They were supposed to close at 1am. When you enter this oasis you immediately receive a glass of water and something to snack with your menu (olives in this case). You must come from a good background if you decide not to drink anything here. But I was shocked when I read that cocktails cost around €20. (But I'm also shocked by the prices when I go shopping in the supermarket.) The atmosphere is a bit between a hotel lounge and a speakeasy. As far as I'm concerned, it should have looked more like a speakeasy. And it was nowhere near full on the Saturday evening I was there. I would consider a billiard table to create more atmosphere. Until it turns out that there is enough demand and it is fully booked every evening. The cocktails were good. I indicated that I like to drink a whiskey-gingerbeer and wanted their variation on this. And that was quite successful with some campari (which I normally don't like to drink). But as is often the case with cocktails, I think there was too much ice in it. Then you are inclined to drink faster so as not to let it become too watery. I have given a tip for this.

This place for me is by far the best cocktail bar in Amsterdam for many angles / reasons! A) the service: top notch! Each time i’m there, the service excellence, the gentle, kind and human centric approach of every single mixologist and team members there deserve a big applause! Every single one there are ready to listen & make you feel comfortable! B) the ambiance: if you like roaring 20s mixed with a modern touch, here’s the place. ‘Gezellig’ for winter, sparkling for summer (ps: there might be a little surprising rooftop!) ;) C) team: oh my! Mixologists, you do an awesome job not only creating the most pleasing potions but also the way you interact with people, truly listen, get to know what they like and do suggest cocktails that hit the nail in the head, all fully deserve a big big credit! Luca, you are the bringer of light as your name suggests and the sweetest: a bright example that shows how to do something with heart and soul combined! 🫶🏼 D) last but not least, cocktails of course! By far the best i had in all Amsterdam!! My fav is “In the dream of someone else.”-for many reasons but mostly it was a spot-on proposal after giving only few clues to Luca, but every other cocktail is served with a story behind which is also a big plus. Giovanni, you are a mastermind!

We had an amazing evening with this bar and its crew! The bar clearly states his speakeasy style, providing awesome cocktails (most of them are signatures) with exotic set of snacks including oysters, caviar and some croquettes. Cocktails were amazing, tasty and well garnished, the service was amazing too, as waiters were asking if we liked everything and so on. By the end friends and me were served with the bartender’s liquors, as a compliment! The atmosphere is great, the music is not loud, there is no crowd, beautiful style, amazing cocktails and perfect service. I liked all about this place, definitely will come back

This place knows exactly what it’s doing. Dark wood, low light, and cozy velvet furniture. The kind of place you feel like smoking a cigar and closing a high-stakes business deal in — and they have a cigar menu, so get to it! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, creative and well executed cocktails, and a great whiskey selection. Order a martini, if only to experience the theatrical, table side service.

I wish I had taken better photos because these truly don't do the drinks justice. I came to Fitz's Bar across two separate nights and neither evening disappointed. They were sure to provide the same white-glove service regardless of how busy the night was. For anyone that is feeling adventurous, I highly recommend the "In the dream of someone else" cocktail (short glass drink pictured) which was crafted by the talented Giovanni and Luca. It was smooth, light, and full of flavour. After listening to their journey, both have studied cocktails across different cities around the globe and top restaurants. In addition to that, they were both getting ready to compete in national cocktail competitions. I truly was inspired by their passion to take cocktail craftsmanship to the next level. As someone who's always up for the bartender's choice, they did not disappoint. Next time you want craft cocktails, stop in without a second thought.

Wat een mooie verstopte cocktailbar nabij het Oosterpark. Goede sfeer, attente service en de mooiste en best smakende cocktails met verhalen die geïnspireerd zijn op de roaring 20’s. Hier word een cocktail met of zonder alcohol een beleving. De keuze is enorm, vraag om hun advies kwa smaak wat je voorkeur heeft, en wilt nooit meer ergens anders naartoe.

Hidden gem in Amsterdam East. Fitz’s bar is part of the pillow hotel. We found this bar by coincidence and decided to get a cocktail. First of all the atmosphere of the bar is warm and comfortable, with nice chairs and lounge seats. Since they play pop jazz music, you get a feeling to step back in time. Also the service is very proactive and friendly. The bartenders were dressed very formal and were welcoming in a formal, correct but very friendly way. One of the showed us our seat and served water with some chips. Another bartender was explaining the menu. He was asking all kinds of questions about our taste so he could make a personalised cocktail. The cocktails we received were just lovely and one of a kind. Overall this bar maybe not an obvious choice to visit but really worth it!

Very lovely place, a feeling fo a speakeasy. The inspiration is the roaring 20's in America, kinda gentlemen cigar private club. Pitty they do not have a wardrobe but only discrete cloth hangers (but also limit, way too little for the amount of occupation amount). Seats are lovely comfy. Lighting is nice and good but pitty the innovative wireless table lamps are a too bright. Love the paintings. The staff is very lovely, the garment of the staff is from the 20's American bar style. The service is really nowadays 5 star hotel level but still chill not too tight. The food and drink service is a bit slow but they do take their time but still healthy level of service. Also nice service with water and olives (no seeds) and chips(think home made). 3.5/10 not thst high but good level due to it is not surprising enough for me to give that high points. The prices are good for the environment in a 5 star hotel in Amsterdam. Finger food prices are also good. The menu of the cocktails are good selection but would more innovativeness. Signatures are maybe a bit too simple and not surprising enough. The drinks are good proper done, with good preparation show. Drinks I can just give a 2/10 due to innovativeness. 2/10 as I could get those drinks anywhere else for a slightly better price, maybe not the show but still need some work to do in the bar. Overall, will I come back... Well yeah but maybe not directly for a cocktail. I wil come back for the service, the steak tartar (good handcut ones good seasoning) and the environment. Last but not least there is only one occupation of bathroom for each sex. Love it inside but the toiletpaper is very low quality what you get on economy airplane or 2 star hotels, pity when you have all things thought out so well and it is a 5 star hotel. Overall score 3/10
