We had a nice time watching football. There was a great atmosphere.

We spent our last evening in Amsterdam sipping a beer on the canals, among the houseboats and a decidedly "Dutch" atmosphere.

Wicked canal side spot for beers and snacks on a sunny day. Had the bitterballen and spring rolls platter thing, and a saurkrautz hot dog, all great. Great staff as well.

I was at the cafe the prins tonight with lovely staff and great food. The gentleman called Ronny and Miche. They really understand service and they are a prime example of how to make the guest comfortable. The one is more handsome then the other, you can be the judge of that;) me and my gals had a blast. If you are looking for a place for the ultimate Amsterdam expierence. Don't hesitate and drink a pint here!

Found this place while walking around the canals and so glad we did! The staff are so friendly, especially the bartender. Great service and the food was delicious & great value for the price! We ordered steak frites (came with separate servings of caesar salad & fries) and Bitterballen. 10/10 we’ll be back!

Came as a tourist after the Anne Frank museum. Atmosphere is calm and pleasant from 21:00-22:00 on a Saturday night. Enjoyed drinks and snack platter and service. Would come again. Although the bathroom ran out of soap and could be cleaner so that’s why I’m giving 4 stars only.

We were with 14 people. The service and food was excellent. The atmosphere was also good, cosy and friendly. Take time to compliment the chef and kitchen staff. They're awesome!

We came here looking for a little drink break in the sun, but what greeted us were the lovely and welcoming Jan and Thomas at this place. With warm smiles and great service, they made our little drink break a really great experience! The place is truly beautiful, located in a splendid spot on the Amsterdam canals, and the food is also worth it: we ordered two burgers and they were truly good. Unfortunately, however, the overall experience was ruined by the service, and it's not even the first time this has happened. During a previous visit, a blonde waitress came over three times to ask us to repeat our order because she was taking it from memory, without writing anything down. We noticed the same thing at the next table, where they even got a dish wrong, so it wasn't an isolated incident. Today we returned, and the situation hadn't improved. We sat on the terrace along the canal, and for about 15 minutes, no one came to take our order. The waitresses came out of the bar but focused only on the terrace closest to the entrance, completely ignoring the one overlooking the canals. Finally, I had to go inside to ask if anyone could serve us. Once again, we witnessed some unprofessional behavior: at the next table, the same blonde waitress took an order by heart and then brought only two drinks instead of three, asking for a repeat order. Meanwhile, she sat down to eat with a customer; only after they'd finished did she return to bring the missing drink (about 10 minutes). Overall, the service was slow and inattentive. The only positive note among the staff was a young man who was helpful, attentive, and genuinely interested in doing his job well. It's a shame, because the location is truly beautiful and the food is good, but the service, especially that of the two young women managing the terrace, leaves much to be desired and ruins the experience.

LOVED THIS PLACE~ We went because my maiden name is Prins, so we thought that was neat. The welcoming staff were bright and cheery. The tables were comfortable, and the food was EXCELLENT. We enjoyed a few of the snacks available. The coffee was good, and staff was knowledgeable about beers for my husband. The bathroom is in the basement, but they are clean. The location has available wifi.

We stopped for a beer before lunch, but then ordered Bitterballen, two Tosti, and Poffertjes. The staff were young and friendly, the place was very nice, and the atmosphere was great (especially on sunny days). The price was more than reasonable.

Lovely bar, had a wonderful conversation with the Icelandic bartender Geira! Will be back, i’m sure.

A very short break in the evening after a day of travel, for a beer and a glass of wine, both excellent. The welcome was as warm and friendly as the atmosphere. We could have easily spent the whole trip there. Thanks to the owner, see you soon!

For Italians: best coffee in Amsterdam, the location leaves something to be desired but the staff is friendly.

Excellent place to take a break and soak up the Amsterdam atmosphere. The café is cozy, with a lovely terrace by the canal and incredible views. The candlelit ambiance creates an intimate feel. The food is decent, and the menu features typical Dutch snacks and finger foods like chicken and cheese fingers. The staff was friendly and efficient, even though it was quite busy. Definitely an ideal spot to relax after exploring the Jordaan.

A warm and relaxed atmosphere, simple yet very successful decor, a tempting little menu, and friendly, efficient service. Perfect for this winter evening, but I have no doubt that you can have just as good a time there all year round.

An old-fashioned bar where locals and tourists mingle because it's opposite the Anne Frank House. It's quieter at night. The food is good, and the beers are too. Unbeatable location. Order the fondues!

Rude, had to pay more because we weren't allowed to sit with more people “busy evening” (us plus 4 people in the snack bar) sharing fries.

I liked Café de Prins a lot – but don't let the name fool you. It's less of a traditional café and more of a quaint bar. The atmosphere is cozy and down-to-earth, no-nonsense. Particularly positive: The Dutch bar specialty, bitterballen, was very tasty. The beer selection is extensive, including many craft beers. Excellent value for money, especially considering the location directly across from the Anne Frank House. Service & Atmosphere: The staff is friendly and uncomplicated, but more of a "shirtsleeve" style – not high-class service, but relaxed and casual. If you know that and are looking for a relaxed bar, you'll be in good hands here. Conclusion: A lovely place to enjoy a beer in a central location and try typical Dutch snacks. Not particularly elegant, but authentic and with fair prices.

The gentleman came up to us, started speaking to us in a language we did not understand, then started shouting at us in English to get out of his bar, that he was the owner. We were really surprised and disgusted, we did not understand at all what was happening. At arrival we were served by a nice lady, and even after our order came a gentleman inside who looked like a homeless person, smelled of alcohol and did not know if he was an employee of this branch. The gentleman came up to us, started talking to us in a language we did not understand and started shouting in English to tell us that we had to leave his bar, while he said that he was the owner. We were really surprised and disgusted, we did not understand at all what was happening.

Service was initially slow, likely due to numbers of people arriving at same time. Food and beer was very good. Had the steak & frites with glass of the Jopen IPA.

Vibes abound in this quintessential brown pub. The no frills approach to imbibing adequately enhanced by the approachable staff and friendly locals that frequent this sultry haunt. Definitely stop in for a pint and stay for a few. EDIT: We have since had our post-wedding brunch here and it was amazing. Wouter and the staff were all incredibly accommodating and the event went perfectly. Another plus in the column for CDP.

Excellent location in the heart of the city. Opposite the Anne Frank House Museum. Friendly and fast service. Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a beer. Good value. I was there years ago and liked it. I returned with my family and they loved it.

The name of the store "Café De Prins" may be taken from the fact that it is located next to the Prinsengracht. The store has a small front, and the environment inside is friendly and pleasant. There is also a small bar, which seems to be suitable for a drink during the day (the store is open in the afternoon). The signature Prinsburger ordered this time looks like a typical burger at first glance, but every part of the burger is simply good. The fries are cooked to perfection, the ingredients are fresh and refreshing, the burger meat is not over-seasoned and has a special aroma, and the bread is crispy and soft. It is a really satisfying and satisfying burger. The store is diagonally opposite the Anne Frank House, and the two are separated by the Prinsengracht and a small bridge. Perhaps this is why I saw many (American) tourists in the store during this visit. They say that Café De Prins is delicious and conveniently located, and it is indeed a very suitable dining choice before or after visiting Anne Frank Huis. Recommended.

Ran into this place out of the rain, atmosphere looked really nice, which it was! We enjoyed the liveliness and vibe. We stuck to starters because we wanted to try some Dutch snacks. The bitterballen (in photo) were delish! We were confused by the spring rolls but maybe that’s a thing? We also had kaastengels (cheese filled sticks) that were tasty but would’ve liked more of those. Had some local Dutch beers that were tasty. We did have to specifically ask for silverware and napkins after being served which we thought was interesting. The service wasn’t great, but everyone was kind. Solid spot to pop into for a quick bite

Super tasty BLTC sandwich. (bacon, lettuce, tomato, chicken) with mustard mayonnaise. My daughter had a goat cheese sandwich, roasted vegetables, balsamic syrup and pine nuts, also super tasty. Recommended Inside is simple, flowers in beer bottle, candle in iron ring, wooden cafe chairs and long sofa, just cozy
