One of the last cafes in Amsterdam with proper service in Dutch(!) No noise; a good conversation is more important.

Good beer options. Their food is nothing special, but good for the price. Lovely atmosphere

Perfect brown pub in the heart of Amsterdam

We stopped by for drinks late in the evening and were extremely impressed. Although not the largest, the beer selection is great and tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were still served late into the night. The café is decorated beautifully, with incredible stained glass.

We went here for an evening. The beers were very good and more affordable than those in the adjacent square. It also felt like we were back in the early 1900s. I recommend it!

Super cozy! The vibe of cafe was awesome! It was like you're sitting in the middle of 19th centry! Also the bar tenders were cool and nice. Definitely recommend here for a drink and an hour relaxation!

you can sit outstide and still stay warm thanks to the heater lamp. Good beers and fried food accompanied by spicy mustard 🤤 (I recommend the bitterballen)

Want to have a drink with 8 people. 1st drink was well absorbed including ordered snack. We were ignored on the second round. Another customer shouted from a distance what he wanted while I had already indicated at the bar that I wanted to order something. Answered that we would be helped later, because the screaming customer was earlier. Immediately asked for the bill, which was given right away before he had helped the other rude customer.

I enjoyed the traditional drinks and food. It was really a 4.5/4.6 experience. Paul, our server, was a unique fellow who kind of warmed up to my wife and I as we settled in and spent quite some time chatting with him and a group of young Spaniards sitting at an adjacent table. We stumbled across this establishment as we strolled past from a truly disappointing experience at Le Pub Leidseplein on the same street. Highly recommend. Don't be misled by appearances. Cafe Eijlders is the frog who is really a prince.

Fantastic bar just off Leidseplein…if you fancy a break from the touristy bats in the square and want a proper Dutch beer in a proper Dutch bar, served by lovely people, you can do no worse that head to Eijlders…fresh ‘snacky’ food also available to soak up those beers. Perfect.

Came here because all the other bars near by were full. It's a great spot for a couple drinks and to hang out.

Came here for pre-game drinks before we hit the clubs. It was super chill. €24 for a bottle of red wine and we loved it. The old guy serving us was super nice. He gave us a few recommendations where to go, what to do, etc.

misschien wel de beste bediening van Amsterdam! Fijne bieren op de tap en Hollandse hapjes, een fijn terras om de wereld aan je voorbij te zien flaneren en de rijen van Jimmy Woo vol opgedofte jonge mensen te observeren. Binnen is er de bar of ruime plekken als je met een groepje bent. Aanrader als je in de buurt bent, ook om rustig een krant te lezen. en ze hebben poëzie avonden en kunst aan de muur van lokale kunstenaars

Such a beautiful and cosy place in Amsterdam. Highly recommended to pop in for a couple of beers, the staff is very friendly and the beer selection is great. You can even nibble on some bar snacks which were great.

Fijne en mooie aithentieke kroeg, waar een illustere literaire geschiedenis in huist. Eylders zelf heeft er een leuk boek over geschreven, dat voor een geluksvogel nog wel in een antiquariaat te vinden is. En je kunt er een gesprek voeren zonder door luide muziek of rumoerige gasten gehinderd te worden.

Great Cafe. Patrick and the bar staff are brilliant. Anouk, I hope that the spelling is correct, Patrick's wife, gets more beautiful with age. Not too many women have that gift. Their black cat who I called Sphinx but whose real name was Swing was one of the most beautiful cats I have ever seen.Proost.
