Stopped by for breakfast, having ordered an apple pie and cream and a hot chocolate. The products were very good, and the space was quite comforting and cozy. However, the service was very slow, with a good quarter-hour wait before being able to place an order, even though the servers were very busy.

BEST APPLE PIE EVER!! Also good portions. I also ordered the granola with yoghurt and that was a generous portion. Chai massala was also very tasty.

There were no seats when I went there, and the traffic was weird. Fortunately, the apple pie was pretty good and the cream was a plus. Grab a cup of coffee and it was like a vacation.

Lovely apple pie but really poor customer service. Me and my friend who is pregnant have been told to wait outside in the cold in order to be seated. I asked them if it's okay to wait inside as my friend is pregnant and she was so cold and the response from the Waitress was really negative. I hope the management considers this behaviour and act in a better manner when it comes to vulnerable groups.

They are neglected, poorly cleaned and often in poor condition, which clashes with the quality of the place. In addition, there are usually long lines to get a table, especially on weekends. Despite these details, the food and service make it worth the visit. Recommendation: go early to avoid the crowd and enjoy the experience without so much waiting.

The apple pie was good, but that's it. I don't understand why it has such a bad reputation. I've had better ones elsewhere. But what bothered me was the filth in this place. The waiter didn't even wash the glasses. He kept the sink full of water, dunking each glass in here 1-2 times quickly, and that's it. He did the same with all the dirty glasses without ever changing the water. And the worst part was the restroom. You couldn't even get in because it was disgusting. The floor was covered in pee, the toilet was super dirty, as if someone had vomited. It was disgusting. I definitely won't be back, but I hope the health authorities come back very soon to investigate this place.

Very dirty. You can't even enter the bathroom because of the dirt there. People go there because of the reputation of the cake but it's not out of this world either. And if you go take a look, they don't even wash the glasses.

Shop 43 is simply the very best place for apple pie with whipped cream, incredibly delicious, you get a big slice, nice, busy large terrace with lots of tourists, you just have to try it once. On Saturday there is a market with all kinds of natural products, and then it is wonderfully busy.

I've been to Winkel 43 3 times in different years and the apple pie is still the same, simply wonderful. Over the years my taste buds have changed, I eat better and avoid excesses... but this pie is worth making an exception to my diet.

I don't think I've ever eaten such good apple pie in my life. We didn't like the guy who served us too much, he spent a lot of time outside chatting before considering us (we were sitting outside and didn't even realize he worked there) and then treated us in a rather rude and grumpy way. I didn't leave just because I wanted to taste the cake, but I felt very uncomfortable.

Trying the famous apple pie at Winkel 43, Amsterdam—a must-visit spot mentioned in every review! We arrived around 3:00 PM. It wasn’t too crowded, but there was still a queue. There were four of us, but the staff told us that finding a table for four would take a long time. So, we let our parents go inside first while we sat outside (it was freezing!). The pie was absolutely delicious! Honestly, this was the best apple pie I’ve ever had. The only downside was that the place was quite small and packed with people, so we felt like we had to eat quickly. LOL If you don’t like waiting in line, you can order takeaway instead! We were actually thinking of getting one to enjoy at the hotel—much more convenient. LOL

Sunday Morning at Winkel’s The sun creeps over the houses. The Noordermarkt is quiet. The first rays hit Winkel’s. That might just be the secret to their apple pie. A Michelin-starred chef once disappointed his French girlfriend here. It was raining, I guess. But I don’t think many people will be disappointed. I never am. As always, everyone gets five stars.

Yesterday, during my last visit to Amsterdam, my friend and I decided to have a salad here. The food was average, nothing special. While the smoothie was very tasty, it spilled all over my friend’s clothes, and the staff didn’t offer to clean it or replace it. We had to ask for tissues and wet towels ourselves. The waiter (a tall man) was neither respectful nor attentive to the situation. However, we have to admit—they serve one of the best apple pies in town, and we loved it.

This cafe is open from early in the morning until dawn, and also sells food and alcohol. It was a little after 8 o'clock, so it had a pub/bar atmosphere and there were many people drinking beer. I entered after waiting for about 20 minutes, and since I was alone, I took a seat at a long bar table. They let people in in the order they arrived, regardless of the number of people, and they didn't seem to care much about turnover. I passed on the food and only ordered apple pie. The rest consisted of crumble, so it was more like British apple crumble than the usual apple pie. I tried whipped cream, crumbles, and stewed apples in one bite. It was a bit greasy, but the taste wasn't bad. The crumble was crunchy and chewy, and the sweetness of cinnamon lingered in the stewed apple. However, when I ate it, it felt a bit dry and my throat was clogged, so I needed something to clear it. I drank Sidra because I thought it would be carbonated, and it went well with it because the ingredient was the same apple. Personally, I don't like heavy desserts like this, so it was hard to eat alone, but I finished everything except the whipped cream. I'm not sure about apple pie, but this cafe was impressive with its atmosphere and song selection.

Take takeaway to the hotel to eat. I was in the mood to try it casually, but once I ate it, I thought it was really delicious. The cream is refreshing and sweet, and it feels like it is freshly whipped with local milk. The apple pie crust was a bit tough but had a nice bite. The apples are chunky and have a nice texture, and the whole cake has a natural flavor, with nothing added or missing. I really think it tastes good.

I don't understand the fascination with this place. Long queues, waiting for at least half an hour even in the middle of the week in the rain. Nice service. Bitterballs tasteless. I wasn't impressed with the iconic apple pie either. Large pieces of sour apples. For people who prefer less sweet desserts, approx. The atmosphere, decor and space are nothing special. On warm days, you can have more fun sitting outside to admire the city's architecture.

The worst flat white of all amsterdam. My friend tried the apple pie and he sayid was really good but the quality of coffee and the stuff service was really missing. And I understand in a busy place you might have to work tons of hours but my flat white for 4.90€ was missing the foam.. really disappointed about it. This is an example on how mass turism destroy good places like this. Think of quality rather than quantity, would be better.
