If I could, I would give 10 stars!! 🍻👍🍻👍

We were denied for entry in utterly disrespectful way just because we belong to a South Asian ethnicity. I heard Amsterdam is a very friendly and welcoming city but the level of disrespect we got from this cafe specifically by the security guy at the entrance is huge concern. This kind of people spoil the credibility of a well known wonderful city- Amsterdam.

Our group was denied entry by security while other groups were allowed in. As Indian customers, we felt we were treated differently, and the experience was upsetting.

A really cool party location! (Small bar with music) A great atmosphere develops between tourists and especially many locals. Music: Popular sing-along hits and especially Dutch hits. The bartenders and guests who want to join in often sing along to karaoke. If you've had a few drinks or aren't very steady on your feet, be very careful on the very steep, narrow steps leading down. The restroom attendant is unfortunately quite demanding. Reliable bouncers/security ensure your safety.

Cozy Adams pub. Friendly bartender. Pricey, but of course, you're downtown.

Absolutely not worth the stop. It’s January 1st my girlfriend and I are bar hopping and arrive at this place since everywhere else was full. We both ordered a gin and tonic and the guy behind the bar tried to charge me almost €40!! This was after he dropped my first drink in front of me! I refused to pay that much for practically two 7up bottles and get this, the guy literally grabbed both drinks and threw them at the wall behind him getting drink all over me and my girl and he started screaming at us to get the f out “f you f you get the f out!” And the woman behind the bar made no attempt to calm him for whatever his knickers were in a twist for but she stood smiling! I wouldn’t blame you for thinking I’m making this up but to you random reader I say from the bottom of my heart this is 100% full factual truth, absolutely atrocious. Don’t give this place your business. And to the guy, I would have whacked you one if it wasn’t the first day of the year, So if you read this consider yourself lucky;)

Cozy but incredibly expensive cafe. Paying 10 euros for a half-liter of beer seems a bit steep, and then they only get a 0.4-liter glass. We won't be back.

Fantastic atmosphere. We were drawn to it as we walked by, like moths to a flame. Delicious beer, friendly, fast, and cheerful staff. Nice international guests. Pure holiday bliss. Central location and highly recommended; we'll definitely be back.

I wanted to visit this bar for a pop-up party, but because I was carrying a backpack, I was refused entry. When I explained that I was in Amsterdam for the current event, they wanted to let me in. Then I was asked what country I was from. When I said I was from Germany, I was insulted and told to go home. That's completely disrespectful, and no one should be treated that way. There are many great bars in Amsterdam where you'll be treated with respect. Unfortunately, this bar isn't one of them.

Bad music When asked for a menu, they said there wasn't one. The waitress preferred chatting with friends to serving at the bar. 1 Jacky Coke 0.33 + 1 Gin 30 euros 😂

No idea about food, just had a drink. I had a day in Amsterdam. I absolutely had to go to Deugniet after watching the TV show. The bartender was nice. We had a nice chat because it was still early. I definitely want to go back for the evening. A truly great old-fashioned pub.

A laid-back bar with the best owner. The bartenders are super cool and create a great atmosphere. You don't have to speak Dutch to enjoy the vibe. The drink prices are reasonable. We'll be happy to come back.

Wat gezellig begon eindigde opmerkelijk. In cafe de Deugniet kan je krukken aan de bar reserveren. Als je dat niet weet en je bent gezellig aan het genieten met je vrienden wordt er gevraagd of je plaats wilt maken. Erg opmerkelijk en nog nooit meegemaakt in een kroeg. Voor ons een moment om te vertrekken!

Be the Lord Jaysus Mary and Joseph, we spilled out of the Italian restaurant next door after a great meal and this place was only bloomin’ hoppin’ ! The craic was mighty! Crazy place with a karaoke mc and loads of people hootin’ and hollerin’ dancing on the bar, swinging bar stools the lot! The place is an absolute blast we loved every minute. The service was great, the vibe super friendly with all nationalities, even Americans that came in saying “no Trump”! We consumed loads of beer, tequila, vodka, everything they could throw at us. You go a long way to top a night like this, highly recommend this place go there and have an absolute blast. You won’t be disappointed. Amsterdam and the Dutch are the best hosts in Europe, except of course Ireland and the Irish 🤣.

Gezelligheid, leuke muziek, lekkere pilsjes, prima getapt,echt een heel leuke vrijdagnamiddag. Barman is kundig en houd alles in de gaten. We waren er afgelopen vrijdagmiddag en hebben echt een leuke middag gehad😊!

Bij ons op de Wallen was de serie die mij in contact bracht met dit café. Nav Holland zingt Hazes was ik 15 maart in Amsterdam en café De Deugniet stond dus met stip op de planning om daar een pint te gaan pakken en tegelijk te gaan genieten van de losse, leuke sfeer zoals ik het gezien had op tv. Jawadde wat een leuke beleving die alles overtrof. Hier kom ik zeker terug de volgende keer ik in Amsterdam ben. Al moet ik er een ommetoer voor maken. Thx Syar

A great real Amsterdam café, with very nice service and a singing owner. It was already a party in the afternoon and then Saturday still had to start!

Nice tent, unfortunately early in the evening the floor was so dirty that it was really impossible to dance normally. Too full, toilet too dirty and you also have to pay. Staff very friendly. Duration! Very very expensive! Drunken student guests throwing beer glasses and knocking over tables.

Had a super cool evening, what an atmosphere there is, you don't often encounter that while going out, highly recommended if you like fun!

Went here with the family on the Second day of Christmas. My sister and I saw this bar on a television program and wanted to see if the vibe is real as shown. And indeed it was really nice. Drank a couple of beers and sang some songs. The atmosphere was nice and friendly.

Unfortunately the music was so loud, a little less is allowed so that you can hear people.

LEER ANTES DE VENIR El "dueño" o camarero, Syar Hashemi, es un misógino VIOLENTO que me agredió varias veces sin provocación y lanzó mi teléfono. Mi padre y yo estábamos caminando y vimos este lugar que estaba lleno debido al partido de fútbol. Me paré junto a la puerta para mirar porque estaba llena de gente, y de la nada este hombre, Syar, me empuja con su espalda, casi tirándome de los escalones. Lo empujo hacia atrás para hacerle saber que no se meta en mi espacio de esa manera, y sigue haciéndolo. Finalmente lo empujo más fuerte y luego él me empuja fuerte y se enoja, cerrando la puerta y profundizando en la multitud. Le digo a mi padre que estaba parado un poco lejos que este hombre me empuja para que mi padre se enfrente no violentamente a él después de que la puerta se abre de nuevo. Syar dice: "Sí, empujé a tu hija, no voy a disculparme", luego MIENTE diciendo que lo empujé primero. Él empieza a gritarle a mi padre, así que saco mi teléfono para grabar y me agarra violentamente del teléfono y la mano (primer video). Empiezo a grabar de nuevo y porque me agredió, mi padre lo empuja. En lugar de golpear a mi padre (porque sabía que mi padre lo mecería), golpea mi teléfono de mi mano, y nos sigue fuera del bar. Él seguía diciendo que este no es nuestro hogar / no estamos en nuestro país, lo que es irónico considerando que es de Irán. Este es un hombre que golpea a las mujeres, y si yo hubiera estado en mi propio país, ya no tendría manos para hacer tal cosa.

Would give 0 stars if I could. This place is discriminatory and rude. Tried to go here with 2 male friends. The security or employee at the door was rude and said it was only for ‘gay people’ and wouldn’t let us in. Unsure of the reason why. Not nice when you try to enter somewhere.

Was in Amsterdam on Thursday to watch Aston Villa play Ajax. Whilst collecting my ticket on Thursday my pals pop in for a beer. This turned out to be the best choice we made during our trip. The manager had obviously done his homework and was expecting a lot of fans to come in. We welcomed each and everyone of us with open arms, the beer flowed and the Juke Box was banging out the classic footy tunes. I even got to do a stint as DJ. Thank you for tour hospitality, really made the trip worth whlie.

What can I say!! We called in for 1 quiet drink, Firstly we were made felt so welcome for PIP, she was so helpful so friendly and 3 hours later we were still there. She was extremely friendly, made us feel welcome and we enjoyed every minute of being there. This was our 3rd time to visit Amsterdam and unfortunately only our first time to visit this bar so we will definitely be back the next time we visit.
