Café Gambrinus in Nieuwe Pijp

A top-notch café with an excellent menu. And the service has become legendary.

Tried to eat here for dinner but it was too late and the kitchen was closed. I think it was around 8 PM. We still had some appetizers and they were good. We ate outside and it was a nice atmosphere. Wish we could have eaten some more food and made it before the kitchen was closed.

We had a delicious lunch here before visiting the Albert Cuyp Market. It's a great place!

What a place! I might be biased because this was the first spot I had lunch at when I arrived in the Netherlands three years ago. The people are genuinely friendly, the food is excellent (I highly recommend the fries), and the terrace is lovely—from the first warm days of spring all the way through to the end of summer. Love you guys—keep it up!

Delicious meatball sandwich and tuna salad. Friendly service. A bit slow, but very tasty!

Na een eerdere goede ervaring viel het deze keer echt tegen. We kozen de vis van de dag, net als vorige keer. De vis was 'ok', maar deze lag op een koude saus, met als groente enkele kleine toefjes ijskastkoude selderijknolpuree. Een vreemde en onaangename ervaring in je mond. We kregen de salade en de frites geserveerd zonder opscheplepels. Ons verzoek hierom werd enigszins verbaasd ontvangen met de vraag wat we nodig hadden. Al met al geeft dit ongeïnteresseerde indruk en het was jammer voor onze gasten.

Cozy cafe where we had dinner with a large group. Service was great with friendly staff. Portions were a bit on the small side.

A wonderful friendly bar which we loved to go to when living in Amsterdam.We have been back a couple of times since when visiting the city and have enjoyed a warm welcome. On this occasion we found there was still a warm, lively atmosphere, good beers, and tempting Jenevers to drink . Looking forward to our next visit already.

Great local bar and cafe. I have been passing by for years and decided today to go. Very authentic place with great people and atmosphere. Service is awesome (which is not easy to find in Amsterdam) and owner is really nice.

A real Amsterdam café with delicious, unadorned sandwiches. As they should be. Without fuss and with pickles and pickles. Delicious!

i wouldn’t recommend this place unless you want beer - i asked for cava or similar and they served me moscato (gross) - just beware!

Very good place for a quiet afternoon lunch. I just popped in, on a whim. I had white wine, pumpkin soup and a tuna melt. None of it was the greatest I've ever consumed but it was all very good, and served competently and with relative warmth. Perfectly adequate. I'd go again.

Legit cafe/restaurant/bar. It’s a little bit of everything but for the locals in my neighborhood it’s a nice get away. The food is very tasty compared to alternatives in the area. The service is legit. I recommend having lunch/dinner and a beer at this place especially when the weather is nice as it has a nice sunny terrace.

Delicious food, able to order lunch before 12 noon. Finally the Amsterdam ox sausage how it should be! Gambrinus sandwich also really delicious!!! Will definitely come here much more often

The beer selection is nice, great service , great atmosphere. The Gambrinus Sandwich is a spicy delight!

Enjoy the lovely meal. You can see everything is well cooked and the service from two servers are fabulous.

A delightful little restaurant with good service

I've been here a few times now with my son (10) and we really enjoy it every time. He feels completely at ease there. We keep coming, so see you soon!

The meat was relatively good but the dish was cold I didn't particularly appreciate that my friend and I were served fries and a salad in the same dish, to share, just because we chose the same dish. The waiter was cool The setting was nice

I can't rater the food since we only had drinks and nibbles. Overall, we had a good time enjoying a drink on the terrace.

Have you eaten anything there yet? I would do it quickly 😏, the menu of the day or if you are not that hungry, a whole Vega board board drink... is top of the top.

Cozy place, although whoever attends is not. They charged me €0.50 for adding oat milk to the latte. I've never seen anything like it. Very expensive coffee for what it is.

Hiphop, r&b, rap? Zet alsjeblieft die herrie af (en meer in het algemeen: zachter). Ik ken dit als een prettig café, waar je ook fijn een boek of de krant kunt lezen, het zou zonde zijn als dat veranderde. (Overigens is ook voor een goed, geanimeerd gesprek hiphop nooit de goede keuze). Verder uiteraard een uitstekende tent.

Het is echt zaak om die achterlijke hiphop en r&b uit te zetten, als de jongelui werken staat die aan en veel luider dan gewoonlijk. Het is gewoon geestdodend… Muziek moet bevorderend zijn voor de sfeer en niet die remmen.

Raramente metto 5 stelle, ma il cibo, il posto, la gestione e le persone le meritano. Siamo venuti qui appena arrivati ad Amsterdam ed abbiamo pranzato molto bene. Tornati qualche giorno dopo, il cameriere riccio biondo, nonostante la grande affluenza, si è ricordato di noi e dell'allergia della mia ragazza. Lo consiglio.

If you're in south Amsterdam and you're gagging for a good drink. There's no place better than Gambrinus. Now in the summer you must sit outside and experience how de Pijp drives by you. It's amazing

Studenten lopen ermee weg, wordt opgehemeld maar de bediening is niet geweldig en verder is het misschien super gezellig als je drinkt. Ikzelf ga liever naar de overkant, gelukkig gaat dat restaurant snel weer open. De prijzen zijn alleen te doen. Maar hee: dit is mijn mening he.8

Tijdloos bruin (eet)café in de Pijp. Eten is redelijk, sfeer is top. Een Amsterdams pareltje.

Amazing dinner. We had a table upstairs (ladder actually) in the loft section, which is has a great vibe with lots of natural light. The service was impeccable, the food excellent and the beers were spot on. It’s sort of a gastro pub, with a great food menu as well as a great list of craft and local beers. We had a great meal, and will return.

Despite poor service, the amazing view at this cafe made up for it. However, I was disappointed with the unwelcoming staff. Overall, a mixed experience.

Very nice place to chill, have a drink and eat light bites. The place is not fully crowded which makes it perfect to have a conversation. Food is good and well presented. I didn’t see new flavors but overall experience was very good. The staff were helpful ang friendly.

Gambrinus is altijd leuk! Goede sfeer, vriendelijke bediening.

Na een harinkje op de Cuyp te hebben gegeten ga ik steevast bij Gambrinus koffie drinken en blader de kranten door. Voor mij een fijne plek.

This place is fantastic l. We stumbled across it having visited the Troost brewery and were so glad we did! The beer is top notch and the food just sublime. I had the special of cod with pesto and mozzarella which was excellent and my wife had spare ribs which melted in the mouth. If you’re in the Pijp area of Amsterdam pay a call - you won’t be disappointed. Alan Grainger

Terrasse sur la route, pas très convivial. Personnel pas top, les prix est un peu surfait. Café de quartier.
