Café Jan De Winter in Wijk 06 Binnenstad

Very soulful “bruine” bar with its very own atmosphere. It feels like going back in time, back to a time with wooden walls and more talks.

We came here for a drink to have a break while exploring the city. We sat outside and watched the world go past. The staff were extrememly friendly and i qould have reservations about suggesting this place.

Very cozy place to have a beerje. Inside its a bit super congested but still cozy especially during the winter !

Walked by on Wednesday afternoon. We were lured in by the staff who were standing outside smoking and calling. Then ordered 3 beers which were served quickly. It soon turned out that there was no carbon dioxide in it so the beer was not tasty. This was reported to the barman and he said that the beer was indeed not good. They tried to make it with 2 men for 20 minutes, but without success. Finally walked in to pay after 20 minutes without a drink (nothing was offered) and returned 3 almost full beers. Had to pay the full price and as a reason "yes otherwise I will get a scolding". As far as the success of Jan de Winter is concerned, a café to absolutely avoid.

Still beer does not come with a solution and the full amount must be paid.

With a view of a Utrecht canal, in the sun, while enjoying a beer, and of course Vokkingworst, a wonderful stay! Very friendly barmaid!

One of my favorite places in Utrecht! A real brown café with nice beers and nice prices. There are also tasty snacks for drinks, including vegetarian ones. There is an outdoor terrace where you can sit on the street in the evening. Good service and nice music. Definitely recommended, whether you live in Utrecht or not!

In the middle of the city with a wonderful view. Very nice service. What a relief; normal prices instead of ridiculously high.

A really great cafe in the center of Utrecht! Good selection of beers that match the time of year and lots of tasty snacks. The music is not overpowering and there is no arguing about taste, but the choice of music is excellent! I am also pleased with the staff! All in all a nice pub 👍🏻

Top spot! Perfect for a cigar smoking Pink Floyd listener like me! The perfect brown pub! The bar staff are all fantastic! Except for a bartender named Anne... That woman literally has a bad drink all the time. Fortunately, she always has super nice, sexy colleagues who keep her in check! Otherwise it would have really become one big fat one for this place! Furthermore, the urinal is broken but I heard they are working on it! A great top spot!

Mocht Jan de Winter ooit zijn deuren sluiten, dan moet er een dag van Nationale Rouw worden ingesteld. Deze Kroeg (met hoofdletters) moet immer blijven bestaan

Ouderwetse kroeg met lekker bier en waar nog eerlijk gedronken mag worden en je eigen eten mee mag nemen.

Hier heel de middag gezeten met de parade! Super gezellie lekkhár bier met snacks.. leuke mensen ontmoet!

Very nice small pub with friendly bartenders.

Behoorlijke lompe vent in da tent, verwacht geen "klant is koning". Verder wel heel sfeervol en gezellig.

Duur en alleen contant... Gaan we terug in de tijd?

Heel leuk cafe waar een vriendelijke bediening is. Alleen €2,50 voor een bakje pinda's? Een zoute snack bevordert de consumptie van drank. Dus gewoon aanbieden en dan 5 sterren

Lekker geborreld met familie. Gezellige oude kroeg en de dame in de bediening was zeer correct en vlot. Wij hadden het zeer naar ons zin.

Leuk klein authentiek cafeetje. Veel leuke shotjes. Vraag vooral naar de stapel met zelfgemaakte shotjes van het personeel. Wij hadden Jesses piemel geprobeerd, aanrader!

Heerlijk op het terras wat gedronken met geliefden en familie in één van de laatste bruine kroegen die Utrecht rijk is. De rest is inmiddels verdrongen naar elders door de veryupping van de stad en vervangen door quasi-hippe barretjes met TL-licht en 'Berlijnse' fritz-kola. Hier niet! Bij Jan de Winter blijft de tijd stil staan, waardoor een biertje nog te betalen is. Jawel, het kan nog.

Nos encantan los bares de buceo. Este bar es un pequeño y encantador bar local frecuentado por lugareños de Utrecht. El personal es muy amable y los costos son bajos. Genial para pasar un par de horas afuera mirando el mundo pasar o en invierno junto a la ventana al lado del calentador. Tienen un subterráneo que puedes alquilar para fiestas Ah, sí, y se han amargado. ¡No los olvides!

Nos detuvimos aquí para tomar una copa, pub muy lindo, muy amable y popular entre los lugareños. Precios extremadamente bajos, cómodos.

Heerlijke plek tussen alle hippe kroegen en restaurants aan de Oude Gracht. Gewoon een kroeg zoals een kroeg hoort te zijn. Jan zelf zou wel wat vrolijker mogen zijn, maar dat wordt gelukkig prima gecompenseerd door de collega’s achter de bar.
