Café Kanaalzicht is a place where you'll instantly feel at home. The regulars are a vibrant mix of colorful characters who make you feel welcome from the very first moment. You're not stared at, you're embraced. The service is simply phenomenal: before you're thirsty, a glass is already on the table. And then there's the live music… Fantastic! No background drone, but performances that transform the café into a living room concert where everyone joins in. Kanaalzicht is no ordinary café, but an experience. You come for a drink, but you leave with a smile, a story to tell, and probably a few new friends.

The cafe is fine, very nicely decorated, tasty snacks. View is not too bad. But you can drink delicious beers here, friendly staff, it is clean and you have the space.

I have been coming here for about 23 years now and thought it was time for a review. I regularly come here for a Friday night or a beer evening. Sometimes alone, usually with a few friends. The service is always top notch. There is always Steffan and the other servers and waitresses stay for years and are really service-oriented. The tap beers are fine. The price is OK. I continue to think it's great and unique that you can order exactly the number of bitterballen you want. So not the standard answer: 'no, that is not possible. You have to order 9 or 18'. But if you want 12, that's fine, or 10, so to speak. This seems small, but I have never experienced it before. It's nice that you can have the drinks written down and even if people sometimes arrive or leave, this goes well. I would love to come back soon!

Enjoy a beer or something fresh in the sun on the terrace. Service is good and you won't be dry for long. There is always a staff member walking by to check. Very friendly staff and the appetizers also taste great. In the sun you can relax on the open terrace if there is still room, and if it rains you can sit inside.

The atmosphere is cozy, tasty snacks, good service, but the alcohol quality, at least the wine, is very poor. I had drunk 3 wines and they tasted fine at the time, but I was very sick all night and the next day. I often have hangovers 😉 but what I felt was no ordinary hangover. It was a sick headache as if I had drunk poison. Very unfortunate, because otherwise it was a really great place.

This is the ultimate brown café: a great ambiance, personal and attentive service, and an attractive interior with a mezzanine where the heaters are on! Moreover, the service is fast and the prices are fair.

Cafe Kanaalzicht, a household name at the lock since 1905. On sunny days you have sun all day on the terrace. Also a nice place to view all the liveliness on the water.

Café Kanaalzicht is a great, classic pub where you can enjoy a good atmosphere, excellent service and a delicious lunch. The location, so close to the water, is also very nice and it is a nice dynamic and “busy” environment (in a positive sense). I recommend it to everyone!

Super nice staff, the cocktails were good (even if not on the menu😉) and the ambience was very nice. You can also play billiards. Highly recommended, especially in the evening for a cozy nightcap.

Finally a pub as a pub should be. Very professional staff, top location and sunshine on the terrace. And a delicious bacon!

Glamrocks!! De bediening bracht gewoon de drankjes buiten, terwijl je aan de bar bestelt. Toppers allemaal.

Wij houden hier elke maand onze vrijmibo. Snelle service en veel gezelligheid. Personeel is vriendelijk en makkelijk.

Een geweldige tent met een humoristische no-nonsens gastheer. Een heerlijk broodje Surinaamse kip 🥵 gegeten. Top.

Zeer snelle bediening. Goede koffie met een ministroopwafel erbij. We bestelden een broodje old amsterdam en een broodje carpaccio. Eten was van zeer goede kwaliteit.Mooi uitzicht over het Merwedekanaal. Wel jammer dat je aan de buitenkant amper de naam van het etablissement ziet. Op ramen staat KZ. Ik moest binnen nog vragen of dit Kanaalzicht was.

Fijn café. Vriendelijke en snelle service, zelfs uitzonderlijk goede service te noemen in deze tijd waarin de bediening in horeca vaak onder de maat is! En ook niet onbelangrijk: Heerlijke bitterballen en garnituur, zoals door henzelf ook wel bruin fruit genoemd. Helemaal top!

Fuimos con amigos a este café para ver una banda acústica de dos músicos llamada The Carlings del Reino Unido. De hecho, somos muy amigos de la banda Ed y Chris y volamos para encontrarnos con ellos en su gira de fin de semana por la locura musical en Utrecht. Este café bar es increíble y la cerveza tiene un precio realmente razonable, lo que siempre es una ventaja, también tenemos algunos bocadillos en el menú del bar de los que nunca se cansará un bittenballen. Hubo una agradable multitud disfrutando de una copa por la tarde y disfrutando de la música de 2 muchachos muy talentosos. Mi esposo y yo lo pasamos de maravilla y todos nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y, con suerte, algún día regresaremos a esta hermosa ciudad.

Fijne kroeg in de buurt met een biljart en regelmatig live optredens. Je kan er lekker buiten zitten, ook 's avonds dankzij de warmtelampen. Het terras is overdekt. Binnen is de sfeer relaxt. Bier op tap en fles en prima wijn ook. En er zijn bitterballen!

Bij Café Kanaalzicht kun je leuk buiten zitten, maar er is niet al te veel plek omdat de gemeente niet toestaat om extra stoelen op de stoep erbij te zetten. Jammer, maar het is niet anders.1
