Café Minnaert in Wijk 05 Oost

SCAM They automatically charged me for a deposit cup when I ordered a coffee to go, without even asking. When I brought the cup back, they refused to return my deposit and insisted on giving me a plastic token instead. I’d expect this kind of behavior from a tourist trap, but I can’t believe it happened on university grounds.

A café where you normally never see anyone sitting, so I had my doubts when we had a drink there. It was surprisingly pleasant, though I wonder if I'll ever go back; that's a step too far.

AVOID THIS CAFE - DISHONEST STAFF! I usually don't write any review but I have to this time. They charge for takeaway cups and promise you can return them. When I brought back two cups, the staff woman only wanted to give me tokens instead of direct credit. After checking with her colleague, she took one cup back. When I returned later for coffee, the SAME woman refused to take my remaining cup, suddenly claiming "you can redeem one if you have two." Complete contradiction! They promised I could return the cups when I bought them, then changed the rules on the spot. This is straight-up cheating! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They really treat customers like garbage. Don't waste your money here. NEVER GOING BACK!

The new coffee is one of the best in campus (close second to the Village Coffee)! They have a selection of food as well as unique tea options.

The worst restaurant in the university. I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes for the Salm bread but it’s just in the cabinet. The waiter seems totally forgot it. I don’t even know how the restaurant survives in the university if they disrespect customers.

The coffee is awesome and the people are very friendly (always nice to have a little chat). It is a bit of a puzzle to me how often opening times change plus sometimes they do not open on time either. Therefore 4 out of 5 (for the coffee it would be 5 out of 5). This place is my daily happy place :D

The service is always lovely. I usually come for a nice comfy hot drink, and it never fails to pamper me. I also come for breaks during busy days at the office. The place is spacious and comfortable.

Nice business and top products, good music.

Atmosphere is nice, good music and funny that it is located in the university building. Unfortunately the coffee was a bit sour, but the carrot cake was very tasty and so were the cookies. Staff was friendly and music was nice.

Fine, better than all the other coffee options in this building, but still not good. Close early and open late.

Refined environment for a university cafeteria. Excellent coffee served in characteristic cups. Tasty desserts and snacks and great service. The service improves by 100% when the Neapolitan bartender works

The cappuccinos are always too hot. I dont think they know how to heat/foam the milk properly as it always leaves that burnt milk taste in my mouth.

Personable staff, nice food, good to splash a bit of cash as a rich student.
