Very clean place, perfect coffee. I've tried many places around Utrecht Central, but this place is truly the best! The service is perfect, and everything is fresh! I've been coming here for two years during work breaks, and I'll always keep coming back.

It's easy to reach. You can walk straight out of the parking garage to Chique Latte. From there, you can continue on to the city center.

the place is nice and coffe not bad but definitely the smell was unbearable there is this super strong minty smell that it really hurts the nose and the eyes after some time plus the lady that was working seem to not know anything about the menu i ordered a croissant chocolate and it wasn't looking that nice and there wasnt any fruits with it when it says it clearly in the menu

For a €70 high tea (for two people), you simply expect more. When we discussed this with the owner, there was unfortunately no room for a constructive conversation. We were told that "the website clearly shows photos," but even after looking at it together, our core question remained unanswered: if the food is so bad, is that our problem or the company's? In the end, it turned out to be mainly our problem. We left feeling disappointed. It's a shame, because with a little understanding and customer focus, this could have been very different.

A croissant and coffee are already €9. If that's not enough, read the rest of this review. I came here on a quiet day, but we still had to wait over 30 minutes for two coffees and two croissants. The coffee tasted okay, but the croissants were dry. Very disappointing.

On Valentine's Day, my boyfriend and I had a chocolate high tea here. We were seated in adorable little houses. We had a choice: either a house coffee or unlimited tea. We chose the coffee. One was with Nutella, which unfortunately didn't have much of a Nutella flavor. The snacks we got, however, were truly amazing! I thought there was plenty of chocolate fondue, lots of fruit, and other sweets. We couldn't finish it all, it was so filling! Because we were in a house, it was nice and quiet. Our table was cutely decorated, Valentine's Day style. I recommend every couple and their partner go here!

I've been twice, and both times it wasn't good. Long waits for food and drinks, orders were wrong. And the food isn't that good either. Not recommended, especially when you're in the city with so many other good places.

Looooooooong waiting time. Ordered one Americano and one ore-made desert. Paid immediately. Waited for 15 min only to realize they are not making anything😳🫤 Asked where is our order, they said it's coming, but .... Again long waiting time.

I come here quite often, but since the ban on using laptops upstairs, I've had enough. I don't quite understand the owner's thinking; your target audience is largely students and visitors who like to work on laptops. By banning laptop use on the top floor, you're already cutting off a large group, while downstairs you only have one power outlet available. I've forgiven many of the mistakes the Chiqueolatte has made over the years, but this is the last thread for me. I won't be coming here again from now on. Edit: I hope you understand that people can still bring their own food and such upstairs, even with the laptop ban. Again, I don't quite understand the thinking here.

What a huge disappointment. We were looking forward to a pleasant high tea at Chiqueolatte, but it was absolutely not worth the money. For €70 (for two people!), we got a few simple slices of baguette with some standard toppings. I wouldn't call that a high tea, but a meager lunch. For this price, you expect variety, quality, and something special, but that was nowhere to be found here. Unfortunately, the staff didn't improve the experience. Even though the restaurant was quiet, we had to wait far too long for anything to be served. We were seated upstairs, where you seem to be quickly forgotten. We were barely attended to, and it didn't feel friendly or welcoming at all. On top of that, the hygiene was truly substandard. Cobwebs everywhere, a restroom that clearly wasn't cleaned properly, and the restaurant itself felt unkempt. This is simply not what you expect from a restaurant that calls itself "chic." All in all: poor value for money, poor service, and poor hygiene. We definitely won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone considering high tea. Your money would be much better spent elsewhere.

Enjoyed the luxury chocolate fondue for the second time. The food and drinks were good. I enjoyed the delicious chocolate with fruit, cookies, and other treats twice. Upstairs, you'll find cozy cabins. Friendly staff. The building is a bit dated and quite dusty in some places. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

We went to Utrecht for high tea. We had to wait 45 minutes for our food, even though we'd made a reservation in advance. The sandwiches were delicious, but far too few for the price of €35 per person. The staff was friendly, but we had to ask for plates and cutlery ourselves. For €70, we only got this tray and two pots of tea. We waited, assuming there would be more sweet treats, but they didn't arrive. Not something we'll be returning for, which is a shame!

We had a deluxe chocolate fondue, and it was delicious! Drinks were included. We had a seat upstairs and found it rather unsanitary. There were cobwebs everywhere, the restroom wasn't exactly clean, and the paint was peeling off the walls. There was also no music, which also adds to the ambiance.

I always hesitate to put negative reviews because this is someone’s life and employment you judge based on (1) interaction, but reading the other reviews, it seems like this is a habit. i. too, paid with a 50€ bill that was inspected with nothing but “feelings” and then asked to pay differently. (it always feels offensive being accused of something with absolutely no proof, but okay) On top of receiving the wrong change back, the place is advertised as a study spot yet there is no outlets, apparently there is a reservation needed for the upper floor (not communicated before hand). Yet it was empty for most of the time and there was 0 service on maybe offering to stay there temporary (as other costumers did by just walking up), The drinks are nice, the food is overpriced. Fruit flies constantly flying around. For a study spot there are no outlets, except for two tables and for a very high one on the wall surrounded by cobwebs. I understand that staff tries their best, but in the end i’m a customer that came for a service and left with a bittersweet taste of feeling tolerated at best while spending my money here. I recommend if you don’t care about feeling welcomed or well served. Got side eyed while leaving as well lol… will not be back :)

My girlfriend and I entered the restaurant and wanted to order something. She had a 50 euro note with her that she wanted to pay with. The lady behind the counter quickly felt the note and claimed based on her feeling, without any evidence or aid that it was counterfeit. We indicated that it was indeed real, especially if you looked at the standard authenticity features. Still, she stuck to her position. What was even stranger: she herself admitted that she did not have a scanner or detection pen to check it, but still refused the note. According to her, “she did not know for sure” and therefore did not want to accept it. Fine, we tried to keep it light and decided to just eat there anyway. I paid with another 50 euro note and strangely enough that note could suddenly be accepted. Apparently the lady was not finished yet. A little later, to our surprise, two officers appeared and told us that they had been called because we had allegedly tried to pay with counterfeit money. We calmly explained what had happened. The officers looked at both notes, saw nothing unusual and indicated that they themselves found it strange that they had been called at all. Especially since the situation had already been resolved and there was no evidence. What bothers us is the following: why do you call the police if you yourself admit that you are “not sure”? Why criminalize people without someone checking it properly first or having it checked by someone who knows what they are doing? And why call the police anyway, when the note was not even used and we just paid with another note? For us, this was the first and immediately the last time that we visited this business. We felt wrongly accused, ambushed and treated completely disrespectfully. An “sorry” is not enough here because what if this had had consequences for us? A little intuition is no reason to treat people as suspicious in advance.

We were not sure after reading some really bad reviews about the staff and food. But today we enjoyed a really nice chocolade fondue.Upon entering greeted by a nice lady (who spoke Dutch for the "They do not speak Dutch" reviews)at the entrance. It was really full downstairs. But we had a nice little booth upstairs on the corner. The fondue was really nice and enjoyable and we loved the simple presentation. The English speaking staff who brought it did not say much, but was really polite. As we left they wished us a lovely day and said goodbye. The experience we had was really positive and we do recommend for people to give it a try.

Coffee is great but there is unfortunately always something wrong. The people are so nice but the vibe is so chaotic. The reservation we made didn't get through and we had to wait a very long time for the drinks and the food. The seats are very close to eachtoher as well causing a lot of stimuli. But after requesting to sit upstairs we got lucky and recieved an nice romantic booth. Some real constructive critisism: The Cafe has too many flat walls, which causes the sound to ricochet throughout the entire café. There is too few staff causing the wait to be long. Organization is too chaotic. Get a better system so it's less chaotic. Improve the atmosphere with more sound proofing decoration. I really want to see this place succeed because the people are very kind and the coffee is delicious and better than most places in this city.

Staff hardly communicate with you and speak no Dutch and very poor English. Simply put the high tea on the table, without any explanation. If you ask, they don't know all the snacks. You also have to select 1 tea bag of pickwick tea downstairs and take it to your table. This is not high tea. Furthermore, you suddenly receive a sign on your table with an end time that you have to leave, without providing any explanation. They don't say anything. No good food or hello either. The apple had brown spots and the core was still there. You have to pay in advance.

Once you get there it is fantastic, fun, hardworking and friendly staff, delicious chocolate fondue that is really worth the price. The only downside is the reservation system: you have to email (calling doesn't work) to ask if there is room to book afterwards, but the response to emails is slow and even booking a day in advance is not possible. I think this should be possible differently, create a closed system where you can immediately see on the internet whether there is availability, every restaurant can do that, shouldn't they be able to do that here too? Anyway, we will definitely come back for the atmosphere, the dishes and the fun

Went to Chiqueolatte today for a chocolate fondue. You sat in a cozy house and the food was tasty, but because of the staff we thought it would not be worth repeating. Unfortunately, the (younger) staff was not very friendly. They responded curtly and we didn't see any smiles either. This was a shame and ultimately made our experience less positive.

We came in and it already smelled strangely like potting soil and it was very clammy inside (probably due to poor ventilation). Then after 10 minutes I walked to the counter to order a drink but was sent back to my table ("drinks later please"). We then waited an hour without drinking or eating. Then finally the luxurious (and very lukewarm) chocolate fondue arrived….. The cookies were old (despite the waitress claiming she had opened the pack today). The pear was also served with peel and core. When we said something, the first option was not to pay. Then we got up and walked away. Not even an offer was made to resolve the issue. Fantastic concept, but terribly executed.
