Café MOJO Amsterdam in Frankendael

Very nice, friendly, and uncomplicated service! For example, I accidentally ordered the affogato for dessert at lunch, which is actually on the dinner menu. No problem, we'll do it! I asked for an apple spritzer without calling it that because: of course, no one here knows the term, and it's not common to drink half-and-half juice with sparkling water. But even that: "No problem, we'd be happy to do it." Recommendation for fans of Dutch snack culture: the bitterballen garnish, with either 12 or 24 bites. Bitterballen, cheese sticks, and small spring rolls (see also photo), served hot and delicious. In the kom terug!

A quiet and pleasant bar with a large terrace in a nice area of ​​Amsterdam. It has a good selection of beers and drinks in general. We ordered fries and nachos, and they were very good. As I said, the place is pleasant, the service is good, and the beer and food are good too. I recommend it.

We love to go there! It’s always busy & cosy

We were sitting on the terrace, but were sent away very unfriendly at 11. We had ordered a bottle of wine at 22:30. Instead of giving us a heads up that they were closing soon, they served us. A quarter of an hour later an employee came to us that they were closing soon. She could not smile. At 23:00 our drinks were almost taken away and we finally had to ask for a take-away cup. We will never come back.

Just got told to leave because they were closing earlier, quite rudely even though we ordered a bottle of wine 30 mins ago. The picture is the amount of wine we had left when they came to tell us they were closing at 11 (it was 11 on the dot)

Food was served very fast even it was very busy day. Quality of food was great. Recomend.

This is the best restaurant I have ever eaten in the Netherlands. The environment is comfortable, the sound system is moderate, and the staff is friendly.

I’ve tried the loaded Nachos, the Ribeye and the French fries, everything tastes great. Especially the fries, the perfect crunch😍 Also the staff is very friendly, and nice location to play board games with friends during the evening.

Very pushy staff. Standing next to you when your glass is still half full. Not a very relaxed cafe.

Yesterday we had dinner outside on the terrace with a group. Outside service did their best. However, the gentleman who was behind the counter inside was not pleased that I pointed out an error on the receipt. The gentleman was almost angry and pushed my money into my hand to scare me. Afterwards I still saw another error on the receipt. Left with a bad feeling.

We visited on a not so busy Sunday. There was only one waiter and he couldn’t keep up. For some reason, there were two different songs playing at the same time. Tried a burger but it was the blandest €15+ burger I ever ate. In short, everything was meh..

MOJO has been one of the best cafes in Watergraafsmeer for years. Lovely terrace, good selection of beers on tap, nice wines by the glass, food at better pub level, but above all, consistent, super attentive top service. There have been some changes in the line-up, but this has never been at the expense of the service level. So it's in the MOJO genes. Cheers! And that is why this remains our permanent location.

Cozy, not a fan of wooden benches, but it is part of the atmosphere. Staff very friendly, but a bit understaffed when we were there. they certainly did their best!

A really lovely group of young people working there over the summer. We stayed locally for a few months and my husband practiced his Dutch. Thank you for great service and patience!

We like the atmosphere at MOJO, it is chilled , relax, nice place to have a few drinks/beers. However, yesterday we went for dinner and we left so disappointed. We ordered 3 mussels with fries. The mussels had no taste at all, there were some vegetables in it that seemed that came out of a can or frozen bag (Peas, small carrots). We also ordered a beefsteak, it was OK. Some parts were a bit chewy and the sauce seemed to be made out of bouillon cubes. I would totally recommend this place for drinks, snacks but not for dinner.

Plenty of drinks selection with outdoor seating by the water, a decent option to enjoy sunny days!

I have been coming back here for 20 years to enjoy good food (I know it from when it was still a timber yard). We often ate here with my brothers and (when she was still alive) our parents. The sticky ribs are especially recommended. Nice interior and a very cozy terrace on the dike. Friendly service and a nice beer list.

We’ve been to Café MOJO a few times now for drinks, and we do like this place; it’s a really nice location and the drinks are good. However we recently went for some food and we didn’t have a good experience. We ordered a burger and a fish dish. The fish was rubbery and small and the vegetables were dry. Hardly any of the fish dish was eaten. The burger was good, no complaints about it. We didn’t get a “check in” during the dinner, which is fine, that is usually what happens during busy service in the city, so only when the plates were taken away did we give feedback about the fish. When the bill arrived, the full price was on the bill. When we provided feedback again, the Café offered to take 1 glass of wine off the bill. We weren’t happy with that, and after reiterating a few times that the dish was not good and not eaten, we just eventually accepted the bill. Really, the fish dish should have been taken off the bill completely. We’ll probably go back again when it’s a sunny day for drinks, but not for food.

We used to live nearby and go there all the time. We have already moved to another area, but we still come. Very cozy bar in the area, large selection of beer. And the nachos are the best here for us so far, we come especially for beer and nachos!

Surreal conversation with the waiter, he is Dutch so I spoke Dutch, he answered in English every time. This continued for 5 or more interactions......

Superb place next to the canal! I went with my 2 young kids for lunch. We always come to the area to shop and go-to another place - which is frustratingly always full or has a reason to turn you away. Thankfully we found this place. Not an extensive menu, but it has something for everyone. Good sized portions and everything tasted really nice! I'm so so happy we found this place. We're definitely going to make this our go-to lunch place.

In love with this low key enjoyable place. One of the best terrace there is in Amsterdam. Great owners and exceptional staff. A not to be missed spot.

This cafe is okay, the food and the service too, but the prices are ridiculously high, like more than 12 euro for nacho’s from the oven😱

A good bar by the ringdijk, so in a relatively quiet street. Opens every day, which is convenient. Good variety of beers, and the food is ok for the price— nothing terrible, but nothing amazing either. Surprisingly not a lot of veggie options— adding veggie bitterballen to the menu would be nice for starters. It can get crowded and noisy on evenings (especially if Ajax is playing), but usually there’s tables or space outside. Most often the staff is good and service is relatively fast.

Nice cafe with friendly personnel and friendly customers directly located on the dike in East. Enjoy some cold ice beer with the sunset. Amazing

Een van de leukste cafés in Amsterdam Oost/Watergraafsmeer. Altijd goede bediening, lekker eten en een heerlijk terras.

Ik vond dit altijd een heel leuk café met een fijn terras. Vandaag lekker in het zonnetje een cola gedronken. Bij het afrekenen bleek de prijs op de kaart niet meer te kloppen. Een cola kost nu 3,50 ipv van 3.25. Een behoorlijke prijsverhoging die nog niet op de kaart stond maar voor het gemak maar wel alvast in de kassa was ingevoerd. De bediening was vriendelijk maar ik vind dit echt niet kunnen. Deze zomer sla ik dit terras over.

Outdoor seating in pleasant, quiet street, IJwit beers and crispy nachos with plenty of cheese. Their bitterballen and focaccia is nice too.

Eetcafé/bistro style restaurant on the Ringdijk in Amsterdam with a nice selection of beers. We were with a group of 6, unfortunately set at a table all the way in the back with a bit less ambience but all the same service was attentive and fast. We had the burger, vegan burger, grilled half chicken and steak tartare. All the food tasted good and we didn't wait long. Price/quality was okay.

The hamburger was disappointing. It was salty and dry.

Had ik op een andere plek niks te klagen over het eten maar wel over de bediening, is het hier helaas andersom. Eten veel te duur voor een matige kwaliteit. Als mijn puberzoon zelfs de hamburger (€16,95) afkeurt, is er wel iets mis. Maar aan gastvrijheid ontbreekt het niet.

We had a nice time here, it's a very comfortable bar with a friendly atmosphere.
