Café Mokum in De Weteringschans

On King's Night I took a moment of rest on the terrace, then I hear that I had to pay a contribution of 50 cents for my needs. At first this sounded ridiculous to me. Once arrived at the toilet area, I was kindly helped by Wendy (the toilet supervisor) who knows how to tackle things. It was fresh and clean, ultimately definitely worth the money. I will come back for the hospitality. also for the peeing.

Cafe Mokum is a cozy cafe and bar located in the lively Leidseplein area in Amsterdam. It offers a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after exploring the city. I tried non-alcoholic beer for the first time. The environment is not bad.

They charged us an extra €2 per dessert, initially claiming it was for the ice cream. Later, they changed their explanation, saying the menu was outdated and needed to be updated for the new prices. Also, the tea with fresh mint costs €7. In total, we paid €52 for two mint teas, two desserts, and one cocktail.

Food was good we had bitterballen was lovely but when I prefer a Chenin blanc they brought me an measure of wine with what only tasted like apple cider, they then changed it and apologised it must have been the glass

What incredible rip-offs, Ordered fries, they were completely cold. Very grumpy girl with brown hair serving, eventually sent away because I had my feet on a table for a while, in short, don't go. 1 advantage, nice sunshine

Very nice to sit outside, we had coffee and bitterballen. Be careful, these are very hot! The staff is very friendly and attentive.

We visited Café Mokum in Amsterdam on our summer vacation last year to have a drink there on a hot day when we visited the Dutch capital for a day trip. We were able to make ourselves comfortable in a nice spot right at the front and were served directly by one of the employees there. I chose apple cider. I really enjoyed drinking this on vacation, including here. After a short time we got our drinks. There wasn't a long wait here. The waiter was also very nice and we even chatted with him briefly. There are plenty of seats here and the café was well attended given the good weather. There were parasols set up everywhere, so you could sit in the shade and it wasn't too hot. If you would like to have a drink in a good atmosphere, this is definitely the right place for you!

If you just want to sit in a cafe and have coffee, it's okay for this place. but if you want good people to make money, never come here. long story, but I just said, "Can I use your phone, I'm a tourist, and I forgot my headphones at the hostel”. I ask them to call the hostel via phone and so they can take care it for me. He said to me, "I'm sorry my friend, I don't have a phone," then he shamelessly came to my desk, you have a phone too, why did you ask me, he said sarcastic-smiling attitude. When i said i can’t call abroad numbers in my homecountry’s data, he says “yes you can” in that same sarcastism. After 45 minutes, they give our receipt saying like “get outta here”. Brother what achievements did you get in life and what achievements you can’t get idk and idfc but iam a software engineer with high knowledge and for now I will NOT give 0 points to this place as an automation with 150-200 bot accounts just to give you another chance. don’t ever be bad to your customers. I will come to exact same place again in 3 months with my friends, and if you act like this again prepare your place for 1 star..

Unfortunately had a disappointing experience here. I came for a drink on the terrace with my girlfriend on a quiet working evening. It was around 6:00 PM, and there were literally only one or two other tables occupied. We had just finished our drinks when a blonde waitress immediately asked us if we wanted to order anything else. Since we didn't need anything at that time, we indicated that. She then asked us to pay inside, which felt very strange considering we had only been sitting for 20 minutes and it was obviously quiet. We indicated that we were coming, but a few minutes later she came back again to ask if we could pay. This felt very uncomfortable, and to avoid further discussion, we decided to order something. Unfortunately, the waitress' attitude did not improve. She looked at us irritated and did not make us feel welcome at all. This was a really strange experience, something I have never experienced before. Fortunately, the lady I finally settled with was friendly, but unfortunately this does not make up for the rest of the experience. I won't be coming back here anytime soon and won't recommend the place.

The burger was very sad for this price. It was an empty plate with a small burger for 17 euros.

One latte, one cappuccino, the price shall be euro 9.6 per menu, however, we were charged euro 13.4 with no reason. We only found the overcharge after we were home. Won’t be back again and don’t recommend. Please check your receipt before you pay. Shame on this cafe.

One of the worst service experiences I’ve had at a café in town. I waved at the waiter for a napkin and was told to wait until he finished handling an order, which I understood. After a few minutes, another waiter came by, told me to wait again, and then walked away. Once the first waiter completed the initial order, he went on to serve a customer who arrived after me, which was extremely frustrating. I won’t be coming back.

Welcoming and cozy terrace, good welcome and fast service. Excellent drinks to enjoy the place and the atmosphere, comfortably seated in the armchairs. Place that I recommend, a little away from the hyper center, less crowded but just as pleasant. +1 for the place I recommend ;)

terrible experience they charged us €45 for mojitos they are disrespectful. I don't recommend anyone to go to a place with all the good places in this country, totally disappointed

Cafe Mokum is very cozy for a coffee and/or drink. Super nice and pleasant host for whom nothing was too much and a good dose of humor and even a song that I still have in my head... thank you, that made our day complete... Jamming!!

Great location but I got the feeling that I should have chosen ANY one of the other cafés. Had a burger - 17€ for a bun and a re-thawed piece of ground beef. Pretty bland. Drinks were pricey as well.

Bad! Food is terrible and the service is even worse. The staff is very unkind and a bit rude if you complain about the food. We waited for 20 minutes and the terras was empty.. for a reason maybe. Never coming back again.

This place is the best bar we have been to in this area, the staff are super friendly and so kind. Can’t fault this place at all, lovely atmosphere and positive vibes all round. Would definitely recommend.

The food was okay, but right before paying, the waiter says a lot bigger price than what was supposed to be. I ask about it, and it turns out the brownie is almost twice as much as it says in the menu. The guy didn't even apologize and left.

Sour waiter. I ask to put the flames on the table (heating), he spends 5-6 times looking at me and ignoring me instead of just responding to me. Go next door and avoid this bar.

We visited in the early afternoon and the bar was quiet. We sat outside and were kept warm by the heaters. Service was good.

Delicious coffee, tasty apple pie. But when we received the voucher (39 euros) we were shocked. 39 euros for a Pepsi light, 2 apple pie and 2 latte machiatto? The curmudgeon in me was lyrical. We're screwed, but we can laugh about it. We asked the best man if we could have apple pie. He asked if we wanted cream with it (I assumed: whipped cream), but we got 2 scoops of ice cream, a waffle-like medium-sized cookie in it, chocolates and whipped cream. What a spectacle. While we first thought that 7.50 was on the expensive side, I now understood 7.50 a lot better. In fact: how cheap for such a luxury! Not so, haha. Plus points (that's right): that apple pie was really divine. The consumption. And that ice cream!!! And hey, if we hadn't been screwed we would never have had this experience. I think the English-speaking boy with long hair in a bun knew very well what he was doing, but to be fair I would have done the same LOL. To top it all off: I left my public transport there, called and the best man behind the bar had saved it for me.

we only got 2 glasses of rose and a brownie and they were both tasty! the atmosphere is very nice, the heaters are super cozy and you dont get cold in the terrace, the seats are comfy too!

My partner, a friend and I went for dinner. Our friend had a conflict with a waiter that we completely ignored, since he was not right (the waiter did not behave well either). They wanted to kick the three of us out of the cafe, but not before charging us 60 euros for 3 beers and some nachos that they had not brought out. We refused to leave, since we had nothing to do with it. (Our friend had already left). They brought out our food and played the music at a volume that made it impossible to be there. As we were leaving, the security stopped us and told us that because of the conflict our friend had created, we had to leave a good tip. Very bad treatment.

Good place to have a few beers, it's not very cheap but they have good air conditioning so you can be on the terrace even if it rains

Day in Amsterdam, lunch at café mokum. Good service, nice people and the food was nothing to complain about either. I don't think about money when I go out, but afterwards I was a bit shocked by the price of, for example, 1 brown organic bun with a small tub of herb butter for €7.50. This is really out of proportion even though I am on Leidseplein. I didn't even pay in New York last year.

Ik heb gekozen voor het broodje holtkamp kroket met frietjes on the side. Hoe simpel kan het zijn, 2 niet al te dikke snedes zuurdesem met 2 authentiek lekkere kroketten. Geen irritante groente tuin ernaast waarvan je je bezwaard voelt als je hem niet op eet. +punten. Ik kom zeker nog een keer terug

So genial, dass wir am nächsten Tag nochmal hingegangen sind. Paradiesisches Ambiente, abgeschirmt von der Außenwelt. Die Drinks waren sehr gut und der Kellner ein Ehrenmann.

Great location, this cafe which is located in the middle of the bustling Leidscheplein. We ordered some drinks which came quickly after ordering. In the evening, they have heaters to make sure everybody is comfortable on their terrace. Nice and cosy place, but rather pricy

Da haben wir in Amsterdam schon günstiger und wesentlich besser gegessen. Portionen sind verglichen zu anderen Lokalen überteuert. In der Nachbarschaft gibt es bessere Lokale.

Place itself is cosy, we ordered 2 hot chocolate with whipped cream and 1 without. Got 1 with cream and mentioned we ordered 2 with cream. The lady looked very annoyed so I showed the receipt and she did not even look at it. The hot chocolates were lukewarm.

Op de kaart staat Coca Cola, krijg je Pesi.. 👀

In de "serre" is het smiddags goed te doen voor een kop koffie of een borrel. Gezellige hoekjes aan weerszijden van de entree gemaakt, voor wie niet binnen wil zitten omdat de muziek wat luid staat en niet buiten op het plein wil zitten, is dit een prima alternatief.

!!!! Dit is een top café !!!! ( Er hangt altijd een gezellige sfeer ) - Fijne klantvriendelijke bediening / aardige meedenkende security (als er buiten het café kleine problemen zijn probeert de security dat ook op te lossen ) ( Zelf heb ik in dit café nog nooit ruzies meegemaakt ) - Binnen hebben ze een goed geluidssysteem (incl een goede akoestiek) ( Rondom goed dik hout waardoor je een mooie warme bass hebt met uitgaan ook heb je er geen schelle tonen ) ( De muziek staat er nooit te hard ) Zoek je dit allemaal. ( ZOEK NIET VERDER EN GA HIERHEEN ) !!!!

“Mager” Restaurant verdient een voldoende op het gebied van vriendelijkheid en is mijn persoonlijke bevinding redelijk vlot👍🏻 Eten was op zich best oké voor een café. Echter is de prijs kwaliteit verhouding te laag voor een voldoende, 21,50 voor hamburger met wat frietjes is te duur om een concurrerend product neer te zetten vooral als er een mager product wordt voorgeschoteld. Kwaliteit/Prijs verhouding: 3,5 Concept: 6,0 Terras: 6,0 Personeel: 7,0 Smaak/Opdiening: 2,3 Uitkomst: 5.0 onvoldoende. Tips: Kwaliteit van het eten verbeteren en de prijs waarmaken.

Liep afgelopen zaterdag naar buiten en botste tegen een persoon aan die door me heen liep. Ik reageerde wat verhit, en de beveiliger was echt een held!! Hij keerde zijn rug naar de bedreigende persoon en verzocht mij op een respectvolle manier om door te lopen. Door dit zo aan te pakken (rug naar agressor en mij "aanspreken op gedrag" voorkwam hij een escalatie. Dank je wel, beveiliger d.d. 4 juni jl. Afzender: die naïeve vrouw die een lesje heeft geleerd dankzij jou en veilig thuis kon komen.

Locatie is leuk. Terras rommelig. Vieze tafels. Je moet erom vragen of ze de tafel schoon willen maken. Dat horen ze uit zichzelf te doen wanneer mensen vertrekken zodat nieuwe gasten aan een schone tafel kunnen zitten. Ondanks dat het vrij rustig was gebeurde dat niet. Daardoor ziet het we heel rommelig uit. Ik had een grote jus d'orange besteld a € 7,-. Toen werd er een klein glas gebracht. Ik vroeg of ze zich vergist hadden. Nee dit was hun grote jus d'orange. Als dat voor een groot glas door moet gaan....

Opzich een leuk rustig gelegen cafe. Bediening kan beter,wel vriendelijk. Zeer schone wc's. Hieroor ons pauze plekje😁 Jammer dat het niet duidelijk staat aangegeven, dat ze WEL OPEN ZIJN! Deur vanaf Kalverstraat zit dicht, wij dachten dus ( 16.04."22) dat ze dicht zaten. Helaas... Blijkbaar wordt het Museum verbouwd.

Kellner waren nicht freundlich und sehr unaufmerksam. Getränke ok.

Vies, smakeloos en duur bier, vergelijkbaar met een glaasje kraanwater voor 4 euro. Alles is er overigens te duur.

Bar petit. Molta terrassa exterior. Molt ambient un dissabte a la tarda. Demanen QR corona per seure. Està bé per fer un most i dinar o sopar senzill. Estufes a l'exterior

El personal no destaca por su amabilidad. Tiene un lugar muy bonito pero no merece la pena pagarlo, el precio de todo es carísimo y no tiene apenas variedad. El espacio entre mesa y mesa es agobiante, no tienes sitio para moverte. Personalmente, no repetiría, no me gustó en absoluto.

Mokum is one of the coolest and most entertaining club/pub in the city. It's a bit narrow but use the advantage of it ;) They know how to have fun and feel it to.the customers... I usually go there around 23.00 o'clock inside the bar and listen good music to have fun and meet new people from all around the world. After Mokum, you should finish the night "Chicago Social Club" beside Mokum. Cheers guys ;)
