Very friendly service; they immediately brought water for our dog. The apple pie and the club sandwich were delicious.

Very tasty restaurant, we only had drinks.

The food was decent enough, although serving chips with a meal left me a bit puzzled… On the other hand, I felt completely ripped off when the waitress explained that it was perfectly normal to pay €5 for a large sparkling water when we were served tap water in a carafe 🤨

I genuinely wonder what kind of problems people must be dealing with to treat guests so rudely. The service from the two hostesses today was unusually unpleasant. I hope whatever they are going through gets resolved soon, for their own well-being. Food was good.

I have been going to Orloff adk for years. Always a good atmosphere. Sometimes busier than others. Friendly service and the food is often delicious.

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with my visit. When I raised my hand to order something, I was told in an unfriendly tone: "We're just coming over, you don't have to ask." That came across as very unfriendly. Additionally, the staff was grumpy the whole time, and it seemed as if guests were more of a nuisance than welcome. As a result, a cozy atmosphere was nowhere to be found. It's a shame, because good service makes a big difference. For me, this is not a café I will be returning to anytime soon. The food was also undercooked.

A pleasant surprise: their burger is sensational! As are the fries and the mayonnaise. Spacious place, great service, and food at a price that's worth paying. The only difficulty was getting to the bathroom via a narrow staircase.

I visited Cafe Orloff with a group of friends, and we had an amazing time. Café Orloff in Utrecht is a bit of a tease. It hooks you with its great looks, but leaves you feeling entirely neutral by the time you get the bill. It is, in a single word: meh.

I really enjoyed settling down to have a nice beer and food. I had the steak, which was cooked to perfection. My friend had fish, which i felt had been a tad overcooked, but he left the batter and ate the fillet. The surrounding were nice and the service good.

It's a nice looking place. The experience was unfortunately a bad one. One hostess in particular was very rude. We got the menu in dutch, and we were directed to the QR code after 10 minutes and on after asking a menu in english. We chose the food, but were advised only after choosing that some food is not served in the afternoon- on the in lune menu was no mention of that. All in all a bad experience.

It's always busy and lively here. The atmosphere is great; it's a real old-fashioned café inside, with a terrace outside, and friendly staff. We stopped in for a drink.

Had dinner and drinks here yesterday. Good location, but I've rarely had such a small toasted sandwich for that price. It was the size of a rusk. Furthermore, the hot drinks were delivered without a biscuit, plate, spoon, or sugar, while our neighbors did get all of that. The service is very inconsistent, which is a bit of a shame.

A very nice café with a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, we arrived a bit too late to fully assess the place. We were offered a nightcap, which was much appreciated. Other than that, there wasn't much to notice, but we mean that in a positive way: nothing to complain about, and we left a good impression. We'd love to return at an earlier time to truly experience the café.

Certainly a distinctive and significant establishment in the heart of the medieval city of Utrecht. A terrace where many a couple, group of friends, tennis team, or date can meet in one of the most beautiful iconic streets of this eternally beautiful city.

I can't rate the food. (I didn't eat here) The atmosphere is standard at the beginning of working hours. (However, a very nice cafe with a touch of nostalgia) For me, but average for the Netherlands. Just a classic that one would expect from a cafe in the Netherlands. The equipment matches my taste, but I don't think there is anything here that you wouldn't find elsewhere. (Maybe, but I'm wrong). Someone might be enthusiastic and I don't want to offend anyone's taste. A little cold for me. (Probably because it just opened) WiFi very slow. The staff is very helpful, handsome and smiling. Very clean. Nice experience and good coffee. The biscuit with the coffee was not wrapped, so I would say that is exactly why it tastes so good. I missed water with it. However, in this country and in Belgium I rarely get it with my coffee, so I don't want to dig into anyone's customs and traditions. I'm used to getting water, but I certainly won't be offended if it's not there.

After a day of walking around Utrecht, we settled down comfortably at Café Orloff. The service was excellent; drinks arrived quickly after we ordered, and when we thought we were in the mood for another drink, they timed it perfectly! Very pleasant and friendly service!

Cozy café, but if you have limited mobility, you can't use the restroom here. It's upstairs, up a very narrow spiral staircase. Delicious apple pie and good coffee.

I don’t come to Utrecht often, but when I do, Café Orloff is a must. Honestly, I treat it like a religious experience. Forget the Dom Tower, this is where true devotion happens. The kroket? Simple, humble, golden… and yet somehow the best thing on the planet. I have no idea what dark magic is in that filling, but I would gladly kneel on the terrace (sun shining, cherry beer in hand) just to honor it. The café itself feels like stepping into an old-world postcard, wood panels, cozy corners, the kind of place where your phone politely stays in your pocket because it knows it’s outclassed. Bonus points for a sunny terrace, where I can sip cherry beer like a civilized human while watching Utrecht do its thing. In short, I may not live here, but every trip to Utrecht includes this pilgrimage. Kroket, cherry beer, sunny terrace, old-world charm… I’ll be back, and I’ll probably write a sonnet about it next time.

A sunny Wednesday afternoon a quick lunch. Very busy on the terrace so we looked for a spot inside. Fast and attentive service. Our choice for lunch was also delivered quickly. Repeatedly asked if everything was to our liking. Lunch as expected.

We came to this restaurant for lunch and had a few drinks. We waited for hours to order... We felt like losers. ... Even to pay it was hard to get the attention of a waiter... Skip this restaurant.

My all time favourite cafe in Utrecht. The vibe, the location. The friendly people working there. Menu is simple and good!. Been there for many years and has a lot of history to it. Used to be two separate bars. One called Orloff and one called Bartjes. If you want to get out of shopping and meet true Utrecht vibe.. go over here and just enjoy

Ok bar for a beer. Expect nothing fancy or special. Busy place on a street crossing, could be labelled "gezellig", but for staff it's just some students earning a few bucks on the side. Nothing wrong with that, but it does not warrant more than three stars.

We ordered drinks and asked for some tap water on the side - they charged 5€ for it. The waitress also threw a drink over my jacket. Quite a sad day but a cute location. Also they closed the marquise (?) whilst it wasn’t even sunny, it just got dark. Sad day.

A good place to hang out with some friends. We had not a reservation and got a table for two in a saturday night what it's rare in Utrecht.

Grabbed lunch here (Mackerel salad). It was very delicious. The staff were quick at getting the order, serving food and making sure that we had everything we needed. The restaurant was cosy and a bit busy but you could still manage to read a book by yourself if you wanted to. I recommend this place

My husband and I went for dinner on a weekday night. Dutch cafes are characterized by the fact that you can also order solid meals. After eating salmon salad, satay, and fish and chips, we were already full. I'm very satisfied! Dick Bruna's favorite seat is the one on the right side of the entrance, with a plate embedded in the table. When I asked the clerk when I was paying, there was a customer sitting next to me, so I couldn't take a photo.

Recently sat here. Very beautiful building, but unfortunately the service leaves something to be desired. Several times waiting with empty glasses and having to come to the bar while the staff was chatting with 3 people. Nachos were really mediocre, mainly chips for about 11 euros. We didn't feel completely comfortable in this cafe and we didn't click with the staff. Unfortunately not recommended.
