What a place! It doesn't get any better than this. The people that hang out there, the food, drinks, atmosphere, the staff (also very modest 🤣 - inside joke). Had a great night.

Last Saturday, two of us had dinner at Café Parlotte. We had a table in the back section and opted for the three-course dinner with wine pairing. The food was good, the wines were delicious, but the service was really not good. That is why I 'have' to write this review. We had to ask for the menu three or four times, and each time the response was: "I'll be with you shortly." This ended up taking more than half an hour! Furthermore, the lady in question was incredibly haughty and completely unapproachable. Which is exactly what you want when you come to taste wines, among other things. In short, it is absolutely a lovely place with good food and tasty wines, but please do something about the service! :-)

Busy Saturday evening, we had made a reservation. Upon arrival, we were ignored by several waitresses, and after 5 minutes we just had to walk over to someone ourselves. It was the same with ordering; you have to take the initiative yourself. The wines are amazing and the food is delicious too! Service improved later, but it didn't feel very welcoming at the start.

What a place with delicious food and an amazing, varied, and passionate team.

Something special in the west of Amsterdam. We were looking for a free table in one of the crowded restaurants in this area. By chance, we found a spot in the air-conditioned section of the restaurant. First off, the mussels are sensational. Definitely order them with bread so you can enjoy the delicious sauce. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

This really remains highly recommended. I have been here several times over the past few years, and it is “simply” always top-notch! The service is fantastic, the food delicious (shout-out to the chocolate mousse), and the extensive wine list has something for everyone. Personally, I appreciate that they offer so many rotating wines by the glass, so there is always something new to discover.

I've been here 4 times now and enjoyed it every time. I had the set menu once, but I usually go for the à la carte dishes. You can order amazing wines, but it's also very tasty without wine. The service is super friendly, nice atmosphere, etc.

Not the best experience to be honest. I‘ve heard a lot about this place and was very excited to try it out. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. We arrived (with reservation) and were placed at a table for 2, while we were 3. Choices were limited. You either opt in for the set 3 course menu where the main dish is Lamb (no alternative) or you pick bar snacks. If I would have known I would not have come but it seems to have been a novelty, as I found old menus with more options online. We went for the bar snacks - half of them were out of stock and the selection was also not huge in all honesty. The food itself was not bad but did not fit onto the tiny table which made it hard to enjoy the dinner. We had the octopus two times. The first portion was great if not very small and the second one was burnt. The clamps were nice and the bread was good too. We ordered a wine which was not cooled (to be fair, they did let us know) there was not stand for the wine cooler so the waiter placed it onto a table on the other side of the room and forgot to refill us. At some point I stood up and asked to have the bottle including cooler to be placed next to us on the floor. We left hungry and frustrated and paid around 130€ for a bottle of wine and a few bites. Definitely won’t come back

Had a delicious 3-course menu accompanied by top Burgundy wines. Absolutely perfect! Not too much fuss, but above all, high quality. And the atmosphere was amazing. Lots of locals, young and old. The real French bistro atmosphere in the heart of the Jordaan.

UPDATE. 2026 recently dined at Parlotte with the group of four. We had an outstanding evening and dining experience that lasted for several hours. This is my third time, but first inside (and the best) with a group and I’m happy to say I enjoyed every dish and bottle of wine. The service was excellent, the sommelier was attentive, knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. I look forward to my return. That’s all for now. 2024. Stopped in for late glass of wine and a few appetizers. Very busy but there was space at the bar. Nice atmosphere all around and especially friendly at the bar. The prices were reasonable and I look forward to going back to dine but reservations required, I would suggest. That’s all for now.

We had an excellent lunch at Parlotte with great friends, celebrating life and some important personal milestones. The atmosphere felt warm and special, and the whole experience was memorable. What really stood out was the wine selection — easily among the best in town. It is exceptionally well curated, surprising, and a real joy throughout the meal. We started with an excellent crémant, followed by several beautifully chosen pairing wines. The Marcel 2022 paired with main course in particular was outstanding. The lovely schelpjes were a real treate, and the cheese course paired with a Macvin du Jura was both unexpected and delicious. The three-course menu offers very good value, especially given the quality and care. The main dishes — white fish (harder) and two kinds of lamb — were good and well prepared. But the dessert was the true high point: an unrivalled chocolate mousse, elevated even further by a wonderful Rivesaltes dessert wine. All in all, Parlotte is a place for people who love good food, excellent wine, and sharing meaningful moments together. Highly recommended.

Despite having a reservation, we waited around 30 minutes before we could be seated.

Normally, I am not quick to post a negative review, but in this case, I do want to say something about the service. Upon arrival, we were informed that our table still needed to be prepared. That in itself is no problem; we are happy to wait outside for a bit. Unfortunately, this ultimately took about half an hour, even though we had a reservation. It would have been nice if there had been a little more attention paid to this or a small concession. The explanation we received—that it was difficult to get guests to leave their tables—came across as a bit curt. Fortunately, the food and wine were good, but all in all, in my opinion, there are other, cozier places where the service matches the experience better.

Was turned away as they had no space for walk ins. Repeatedly told WE ARE FULL. Not very welcoming. A shame as we were looking forward to popping in, if the staff had been more friendly all would have been forgiven as we didn’t have a reservation but we were virtually kicked out!

10/10! This place was super cool - there was absolutely no more space available, but we were able to get a small spot by the bar and had perfect service - the food was really good and the team was super attentive - make sure you reserve early enough!

Stopped in a week ago while my nephew was at the dentist next door. I wanted a hot chocolate, but they didn’t have. However, the adorable server had a personal stash and she shared it with me! Dessert was yummy. Place looks great and told my sister, who lives in Amsterdam, we need to come next time I’m in town.

I found the appetizers a bit meh, but the main courses were superb. A lovely place to sit and chat. Delicious wines too.

Yesterday we enjoyed a delicious meal at the bar and sampled the entire menu. The food was incredibly delicious, and thanks to the expert advice of the lady who served us so kindly, we enjoyed some wonderful wine. The atmosphere is relaxed, and everyone is very welcoming. A truly wonderful place to be. We'll be back.

Perhaps my favorite restaurant. It feels incredibly luxurious to dine here with the ever-changing menu and delicious wines. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the staff is friendly. It's just a shame you have to book well in advance!

What an incredible disappointment. Especially after reading all the positive reviews. We received a super unfriendly welcome from a very grumpy woman, who then spoke to us in a bitchy way when we asked, after half an hour, if we could please order something to drink. The woman who finally served the wines was great, by the way! The food was okay—nothing special. The unfriendly service has definitely put me off coming back.

I usually never take the time to share a review. But this has been the worst service we ever experienced. When we arrived, we learned that only two main dishes were available, and unfortunately neither was something we wanted. We politely explained that we were sorry, we would pay for the drinks we had already ordered, and that we preferred to go somewhere else. At that point, the lady became upset and raised her voice at us, saying it was “absolutely not okay” to leave and that we should have checked the website beforehand, even though the website does not list available dishes. She also told us that if the two options didn’t suit us, we wouldn’t find anything better elsewhere. I found the interaction unprofessional and unnecessarily aggressive. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had

So nice place to meet your friends. The wine selection was excellent — really well curated and enjoyable. However, to be honest, the food menu didn’t impress me that much. The duck in the salad was quite cold, almost as if it had just come out of the fridge, and the portion of the main course was very small.

Worst service I ve ever had ! I asked for the menu and the waiter didn’t want to give it to me and Said he ll just tell us what they have. We didn’t fancy the « dishes of the day » and the waiters said « well good luck to find a restaurant that you like in Amsterdam » It is not how you treat customers … We stayed polite but the service was horrible and the waiters very rude. I don’t recommend at all!!!!

The highlight of our Amsterdam trip! A nice lazy lunch on Sunday. A fab long wine list, excellent menu. The oysters, clams and mojama were the highlights.

We celebrated our one-year anniversary at Café Parlotte and received an immediate warm welcome. It was a bit cramped and warm inside, so we moved outside to a lovely spot with a glass of champagne on the house 😍 and the heater on. Perfect for chatting and people-watching. We went for the multi-course menu, from oysters to cheeses, and everything was delicious. A big shout-out to our waitress, who made the afternoon extra special.

A cozy, bustling place in a lovely location. The hostess was friendly, but the other staff sometimes seemed a bit inexperienced. The dessert, in particular, was delicious, but we were disappointed with the main course. The wine was excellent!

Rudest servers ever, especially the young man with blond hair on a Friday night. They only served friends and acquaintances and were especially rude to expats. Will never go back.

We had a wonderful evening with delicious food and wonderfully paired wines. Our hostess was incredibly attentive and arrived at our table at just the right time, allowing us to choose the perfect wine for our meal together. Excellent service! It's true that the prices are a bit high, but you get incredibly delicious food and excellent service. Well worth it!

The kitchen is professional. The starter was pleasantly simple, the buttery-tender veal tenderloin cooked to perfection. It's a shame the somewhat corporate male waitstaff was more attentive to friends on the terrace than to us. Fortunately, a warm-hearted woman who knows her stuff (and whiskey) works behind the bar. The atmosphere is casually hip, without being blase.

We had a truly wonderful time here! The food was delicious—not overly overwhelming, but just right—and with generous portions. The wine was an absolute highlight, and the waiter was wonderfully helpful in choosing and very pleasant. We'll definitely be back!

Our group enjoyed a delicious dinner at Cafe Parlotte and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Lighting and ambience were also on point. Food was very good but perhaps not quite on par for what would be expected for a €100+ per person dinner. The Côte de Boeuf with garnish was good but was slightly overcooked, and had too much gristle and fat for €85. The accompanying potatoes were perfectly crusty on the outside and soft and velvety on the interior. Perfecto. The grilled octopus with chorizo and parsley was also slightly overcooked and as a result, was a little chewy. The terrine de campagne with cornichon (a rustic French country-style pâté made with ground pork and often pork or chicken liver, baked in a loaf pan, and served cold with tiny pickled cucumbers (cornichons), crusty bread, and Dijon mustard) was very good, but not a highlight of the dinner as the clams were. The wine list was the star of the evening and included so many great wines. The weekly special of veal was perfectly cooked. The selection of cheeses was also delicious with four cheeses from various European locales. The dried tuna with almonds was very good but would have paired better with slightly salted almonds instead of the bland saltless ones (or some other item entirely). Our "fish" (skate) was cooked as well as could have been, given that it's skate, and had a very nice flavor. The clams with coriander, garlic, and piment d'espelette was especially delicious with just the right amount of heat. Be sure and get extra bread for the leftover juice at the bottom. The chocolate mousse was heaven. Thank you to Café Parlotte for a wonderful evening with friends.

Do not go on a sunday. They dont have a real brunch or lunch menu. It’s basically a handful of small sharing dishes and the ony real mealnis either the €90+ cote de boef or the smallest rissoto for €18. We also had the okives, almonds, charcuterie and bread. All over-prices and small portions. Maybe during the week is better but on sundays avoid this place.

Steak was cooked to perfection . Loving the buzzing bistro vibes . Service was honestly pretty decent for amsterdam , alittle slow with the output of food but other than that everything was great !

Cafe Parlotte is a cozy bistro-style wine bar in the Jordaan area. It has a nice wine selection at fair prices, and the food’s really solid too — perfect for snacking or settling in for a proper meal. The vibe is lively but welcoming, with lots of regulars. We had a white Priorat and a white Saint Joseph — both are great wines you don’t often see in casual bars. Definitely one of the better places in Amsterdam if you’re looking to enjoy a good glass.

We arrived were seated. ordered our drinks then asked waitress about menu. She handed us a small printed piece of paper (menu) which was vague at best and when we enquired about it she then proceeded to tell us our choices with I gotta say what appeared to me and my wife to be an air of impatience both in her voice and face that we should somehow know about this vague menu. That was the 1 and only waitress the rest were pleasant however we had to wait what I thought was too long in between courses, and the food both quality/quanity did not match the price. We had lamb way to rare. undercooked. My wife wanted to send it back I told her forget it because I new this was our only time I would be here ever again. I went there to eat overpriced food then I went somewhere else to eat pizza. Very disappointed.

We had dinner for 2 on Wednesday evening. Or we were unlucky with the menu of the day and especially the vegetarian version: 2 eggs as a starter and a dry risotto porridge with a few pieces of asparagus as a main course. With every single glass of wine we still spent 130€. I don't think we will come back unfortunately!

Today I ate at your place for the first time, even though I have been living in the Jordaan around the corner from you for 28 years. There was a small table for 1 person outside. The service is absolutely good and the staff is very nice. The wine is also nice Nice big wine glasses too I was only shocked by the high price of the vegetarian meal that I chose. It is part of the menu, but you can also buy it separately. When I paid I was told that the risotto was € 29. (see photo) I thought it was incredibly expensive and proportionally too high for this price. Normally I would come back, but I would not do that again so quickly. The lady who sat next to me, who also ate a meal alone, was also shocked by the proportions and the amount. Warmly Lonneque

Amazing place to have a real Paris vibe. Service are amazing. Food was also good. However, my favourite was the dessert. Meat was good but I was expecting more. Just to add something (but just my opinion), we were celebrating my boyfriends birthday, a small detail or attention to that was missing. Maybe offering a small piece of cake, sweets or any small detail would have been crucial and cost no effort to them, but to us would have meant a world. Small advice. But thank you !

Today was our fourth visit to this amazing place, quite different for us, our first visit with our baby! Our babysitter cancelled on us late and when we called to check it was OK to bring her, they couldn't have been nicer. The staff were kind and made us feel really at ease, as we wondered whether it would still be OK. They create such a lovely atmosphere, the staff are always attentive and very knowledgeable and they have the most incredible wine list. Food is outstanding too. What a place. A place I hope to continue going as our daughter gets older and she can see what a lovely place it is too, a special treat for our family.

Inquired about getting reservation and what was on menu today, was told in a rude way "what do you want" that they don't open for 15 minutes and the menu is on outside wall. Another more friendly young lady kindly brought an English menu but it was vague on what the 3 course meal was as the boss lady stared daggers at us. Totally unprofessional and forgets or doesn't care about customer courtesy. Staff take their cue from manager, so in long run they will suffer from lower rating in slow times. Never tried their food as result. ... Shame.

What a nice terrace in the Westerstraat. You can watch people here. Had a nice glass of wine, ate oysters (I had to take them apart myself and I find that annoying) and another snack with burrata. Sat in the sun with my daughter for a few hours. Nice (Greek) lady serving.

One of the nicest restaurants in town if you ask me! It always reminds me of a typical Parisian brasserie! Good food, even better wines and hospitality is of paramount importance! Would love to come there

Ridiculously good. What’s better than a sunny Saturday in Amsterdam? A sunny Saturday in Amsterdam in a sexy terrace, with attentive and warm staff, great wine selection and food. Fingers crossed for 25 degrees next Saturday and repeating the experience.

It took a while for the staff to see/register us while we were waiting in the middle of the restaurant to be allocated a place, my girlfriend eventually had to ask a bar employee if she could ask if we could be allocated a place (had reserved), quite unprofessional. Furthermore, the service was good. In addition: good wine list and excellent food. Reasonably priced for what you get. Ambience was noisy/noisy (you have to like/can handle it). P.S. Oysters were not separated from the shell. We have never experienced this in all dozens of restaurants. Mistake? 3.6/5

The place is very nice and cosy. Makes you feel like your part of something. Unfortunately it probably wasn’t their best night. Our waiter forgot my wine, which she compensated later but also forgot to pass on our diner to the kitchen which then took longer. My girlfriend was running on fumes by that time. We had the brandade/octopus as extra entree which was great. So was the menu when it came. The desserts unfortunately were one of the worst I’ve ever had in a restaurant. It was all sugar and no flavor. Not even the chocolate mouse was very good. And it was spoilt by the terrible caramel sauce that cane with it. The cheese platter compensated at the end. Now I hope they find a way to shun the coke sniffers that were outside on the terrace but kept coming in to ‘use’ the toilet. I’ll be back again as all in all the place is a gem in that neighbourhood.

Very nice place to eat with good wines. Service was excellent! I have celiac disease and despite the small kitchen, they were able to make every dish safe for me. Entire staff was aware of my diet and they took it all seriously.

Such exquisite food and amazing atmosphere. Staff was incredibly nice and attentive when recommending the wines. Every wine we tried came with an explanation which made this experience so interesting. Loved every second of it! Would recommend for sure.

A lovely restaurant with lovely workers- we had a sweet waitress named Duru who was just the best. We had some glasses of wine and some small bites - especially loved the cheese and the blondie that comes with coffee. Amazing experience overall!

Parlotte has a cozy atmosphere, but the experience was disappointing. It took a very long time before we were helped, there were errors in the bill, and it was very noisy. Despite the nice concept, I wouldn't go back anytime soon.

Nice, informal place where the focus is on 'beautiful wines', which are brought to your attention in a pleasant, service-oriented manner. This time I was alone and I really liked it: if you want, you can easily talk to others and drink another glass and another together...

Cozy atmosphere and beautiful dishes with delicious wines. Our third time was also a blast. Here you can enjoy yourself and stay with good company. Hip restaurant with a lot of fun. Highly recommended, especially on the terrace!

Very good time spent here. We took several plates to share, very good. Service a little slower at the end of the evening, but very happy to have been able to find a table late! We really fell in love with the very well cooked shellfish.

A French bistro well located in Jordaan. We eat really well there. We had the 3 course meal for 49 Euros. Everything was excellent. The wine list is interesting. The venison was tender and cooked to perfection. The walnut tart was a real favorite.

Amazing place, that showed true hospitality. We arrived at 8pm on Sunday evening for our reservation. I quickly found out that when we changed our reservation time online, we accidentally changed the day as well. It was a mistake, but completely our fault. The restaurant was full and they had already finished their final seating, but instead of turning us away the lady at the door, who I believe was the owner was completely understanding and found us a table. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. They made us feel welcome and not rushed at all. Thank you!

It's always a party with you with a great atmosphere and delicious dishes. A critical note. For the price you charge for the food, you can brag a bit more. I always go home hungry if I don't indulge in baskets of bread. For an adult man the portion is far too small. And that at 14.50 for a starter and 27.50 for a main course…. After a warm welcome we opted for the three-course menu. Delicious fish ceviche in advance. Nice portion and wonderfully fresh due to the combination with watermelon and fresh herbs. Main course: choice between monkfish or veal loin. Both dishes on the table and nicely garnished with small vegetables and a delicious sauce. Monkfish was really delicious! Pavlova with fresh red fruit, chocolate mousse or cheese for dessert. Delicious! Wine list: wide choice. Staff took great care of us and were friendly and professional.
