Flawless service. Amazing staff. Delicious food. Even the view of the water seemed made to order. Costs a few more pennies than the norm in the area, but worth every one of them.

We had dinner in the brasserie with over 80 Queen fans. It was cozy, but a bit cramped. The food was good, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

We had high tea for six people. It was delicious! All the snacks were homemade. We had one person with us who is gluten-free, and they were very accommodating. Almost everything was gluten-free, and for anything that wasn't, they had a good gluten-free alternative. The staff was also very friendly. And the price was very affordable. We will definitely be back! 😀

We had a wonderful meal tonight at this restaurant. Service was on point and the atmosphere was cozy and warm on a windy chilly evening. We had the sole which came with capers, cherry tomatoes, a salad and fries. I had a ribeye steak cooked medium rare with au jus sauce, string beans, beets and a wonderful mash potato. The dinner was perfect and we felt do comfortable butbthff ed food was just full of flavor and my ribeye was tender and huge!! We highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful evening. Our total bill came to 60 euros for the dinners, well worth the cost.

We went there at around 8.30 pm for dinner. The place looked like a haunted one. One lady staff told us they don't serve food, sorry. She turned us back bluntly. Though she was kind enough to call another place for us. We had a tough time getting a taxi to another place. We felt insulted and humiliated.

We had a wonderful lunch at Restaurant Vrijburcht with my parents, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. To finish, we enjoyed a cheese platter paired with a glass of white port, which was simply delightful. Nice place. But ordered days special for almost 30 euro. Snall piece of fish with a couple of pieces of cauliflower. The fish isnt a delicatesse or something. Totally unsayisfying. Have to order extra fries for 8.5. To high price for what you get. People and place are nice.

Our family stayed in the area for 2 weeks and visited this restaurant several times. Every meal and drink was delicious! Service was friendly and attentive. Our favorites were the smashburger, burrata, flatbread, ice coffee and cheesecake. The restaurant is tucked away in the Steigerland neighborhood of A'dam with lovely water views and sunsets! Would highly recommend!

We were staying in a vacation rental nearby and ate dinner here twice, both times on the patio. Food and drinks were excellent, and the service friendly. Loved the casual atmosphere - families and friends enjoying the beautiful summer evening together.

I live around neighborhood so I go quite often, the owner/manager of the cafe treats customers sometimes quite impolitely and makes a face a lot, suspect that he treats people based on their face color. Otherwise it’s fine food/coffee, but there are flies around while eating, not the best dining experience. Can still enjoy some sun in the outdoor space though.

Ceaser salad and burger was delicious!

We had High tea and from the moment we entered the service was faultless. All the servers were so attentive and kind. The high tea was delicious. Everything was made fresh you could tell and I loved the selection. They easily catered for my vegetarian friend. We even got to sample sparkling tea which was so light and refreshing perfect for the hot summer day. Highly Recommend!

Gereserved in every table outside, all day, very inviting, very smart.

Excellent high tea. Attentive staff. Tasty scones. The only downside is that no loose tea is served, but normal pre-packed tea bags. As a real tea lover (which I am not), pay attention.

It’s very atypical to find a good service in Amsterdam, but this place real anticipates customer needs. Plus, the food is very good.

The staff is not unfriendly, but it seems inexperienced and clumsy. There were a lot of staff walking around but they did not make eye contact. Fries were more like pieces that had been thrown together and very lukewarm. I noticed that other visitors received a bowl of nice pieces of fries. The salad was meager and there was a discussion about a dish, where it was clearly stated on the menu how it was served. Despite this, we still had to pay for the accompanying sandwich. Very bad. Flatbread was like rusk. It was indicated on the spot, but not much was done with it and noted as feedback. And to think that you pay so much for a klumpsy lunch. The fish itself tasted good, but that's about it. I found it really disappointing and won't go back. Don't want to burn this place down, but the feeling I got here was not okay.

Food prepared with care. Relaxed operation. Nice location. Seats are good (inside). Reasonably priced by Amsterdam standards. So little to complain about. Parking is easy.

This is a typical Dutch cafe. The atmosphere is interesting, with the place situated by the water and a park. Food is decent but not memorable. Service could be faster and dishes could be better tuned with a bit more ‘love’ and ‘soul’ to them .

We were visiting from New York and had very little time to eat a quick lunch with local friends. I’ve not experienced such quick service in a long time and we were in and out in no time. The head waiter led us to a sunny table by the window and the roast beef sandwich was a delight. They were very sweet about my cafe latte order which I wanted with oat versus regular milk (I messed up the order) and all in all it was a wonderful -albeit short -time at this idyllic cafe! Fantastic location when the sun is shining. The terrace with moderate furniture is nice in the sun with a view over the water. The highway(s) is/are emphatically in the background. Depending on the wind direction, I guess. In short; had a lovely seat and a good meal. The coffee was tasty as well as the wine. Pleasant service. Recommended!

Good spot especially when it is sunny, they have a very nice sunny terrace facing the water. Good choice of food and beer. Children habe a small corner with toys to play with and also a children menu

A great restaurant in the idyllic area of ​​IJburg. We have been coming to Amsterdam for several years and always meet up with friends there. The staff is very attentive and very friendly. The changing dishes are very tasty and the meal creations are beautifully presented. If you want to eat well away from the hustle and bustle of the center of Amsterdam and away from the crowds of tourists, take tram 26 towards Amsterdam IJburg and visit the Brasserie Vrijburcht.

Brasserie Vrijburcht is a wonderful place to sit for a snack and a drink! Especially when the weather is nice and you can sit on the terrace overlooking the water. Service is always great and I always find the vegetarian sandwiches and salads very tasty!

First of all I must say this is one of the most interesting reviews I have to write. Because until now, I have been to this brasserie several times because I was very happy as a customer. Food is really good!! I am usually a loyal customer and if me and my husband like a restaurant we generally go there often because after some time you know the staff and you feel like home and you say why going somewhere else instead of a cosy place we love. For this brasserie I had exactly this feeling; until last night.. Unfortunately.. Last evening, I was there with a friend and my dog. A very nice table was reserved for us and a very kind person served our table (he could be the manager or the owner; I am not pretty sure) It was a quite busy evening which I also understand because it was nice weather and we were there at the 'rush hour' :)) Other than the gentleman served our table there was another person serving. I wanted to ask for a cup of water for my dog. Since, at that time, he was the only one around I wanted to make an eye contact with this person while saying 'Sorry?' couple of times so that he could look at me or see me. He didn't.. I thought he really didn't see me so I waited and when he was going inside I said 'sorry' again in a polite way and then there was in a screaming tone 'IK BEEN EVEN BEZIG MEVROUW!!!!' which means 'I AM BUSY M'AM' I write this in big letters because it was really a shout. Even we could call it a roaring!! Before I could say anything he went in. So asking anything from this person at that time has been the biggest mistake I've made. (Until then, everything went smooth as you can see.) Honestly, I didn't wanted to create a scene with my friend and with people around. But what I cannot stand is RUDENESS; one could be angry/ upset for something else going on, but this doesn't give you the right to shout / roar at a customer (or to any other person actually) or if you do by any chance then I expect an apology (which wasn't the case). So I find it a pity that because of service, I begin to doubt to go there again.. A real pity! ps. I wrote it in English although I speak Dutch since I heard many languages in addition to Dutch.

Exceptional food in a posh residential neighborhood on the water. The fresh mozzarella in the Caprese salad was fantastic.

All tables were reserved and empty at 4:30 PM on Thursday, but we were not allowed to sit for half an hour even though there was no one else there.

Today we took a seat on the terrace, but an employee rushed up to us and very unfriendly ordered us to take a seat somewhere else. We got up and asked if he could also ask nicely, because it was not clear to us that we were not allowed to sit at that table. He continued to insult us, "it had to be clear that we were not allowed to sit at such a long table." There was no reserved sign, so it was not clear to us. We found his behavior so unfriendly that we left. Too bad, we had specially planned to have lunch at the Vrbijburcht. A blemish on this beautiful day.

We had the Eggs Norwegian, excellent in taste and fresh products, but the bread was a bit wet, which did not improve the dining experience. The additional Verdejo ordered was ok. Service very alert and friendly, the manager also helps where necessary. The location is nice, away from the tourist crowds, really a place for locals. Easy and affordable parking, beautiful terrace on the water.

Very poor service and extremely disappointed to have given any time or business to this establishment. I asked for something without cheese as I can not have it (lactose intolerant) as is half the world, the waiter said "I wouldn't recommend it without cheese as it will have no flavour" I told him I can not have cheese and he went to the kitchen to ask if it is possible to serve something without cheese, (a simple request) he returns saying "we can not do anything like that" . What a joke 😃 Disgraceful service really and I am coming from a small town in the country of the Netherlands and never have I seen such bad service from a place in such close parameters with a big city like Amsterdam. Makes zero sense, besides discrimination, which there is no excuse for.

Amazing place and highly recommended. The locals seem to prefer it as there have been many there for dinner when we visited with family. Just this, it says a lot. The food was amazing (I had the burger) and the deserts (creme brule) a little piece of heaven. Very satisfied.

Even though it was very busy when I dropped in, the staff was very efficient and the food and beer arrived promptly. Well done, and a lovely view across the water to top it of.

Nice tent or a beautiful location on the water in IJburg. Parking was easy. We had high tea here with a large group. Scones were delicious! And the chocolates were also really divine. They can refine the High tea a little by serving the tea in nice teapots 👌🏼

We went to have a coffee because we were peeing and when I get to the bathroom I find that they don't use a cistern and an unbearable smell of urine. So unbearable that I urinated without breathing. A horrible experience, but otherwise everything was ok.

We always enjoy coming here. Both in summer and in other seasons. The staff works hard and knows how to keep things enjoyable, even on busy days. Menu is excellent and the wines especially stand out. Lots of great finds for a normal price.

My visit here was a disappointment. The staff was arrogant and with 0 knowledge or competence to make us-customers feel welcomed. Our questions were met with arrogance and no desire to help or advise us. From a restaurant serving food in such price range I would expect higher quality service.
