Great place, guys! No nonsense, good wine, lovely terrace, and some gems in the cellar.

De leukste wijnbar van Nederland! Heel vriendelijk en attent personeel, de beste dranken en happen geselecteerd door de eigenaar, en altijd een fijne sfeer. De zaak is mooi en tijdloos ingericht. Geweldige plek om met vrienden af te spreken of om in je eentje naartoe te gaan, met een boekje erbij. 😊

Nice wine shop without a menu. This automatically gives you a more pleasant conversation with the waiter and waiter. Being able to tell something nice about the wines, that's always good. Immediately chippie and carafe of water on the table. Also a good sign. Nothing wrong with that people, nothing wrong with that.

Top service in this special wine bar with a very large range of wines by the glass. Delicious side dishes are highly recommended!

I have to say when I came in here I thought oh shit, this is such a metropolitan nature wine bar. Fortunately, nothing turned out to be further from the truth, original and good selection of wines that were all spot on, tasty snacks, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very nice place.

After three months it was so nice to be back and see some familiar faces behaving the bar and in the kitchen !

I came by with a friend of Ward's and he showed us an absolutely amazing time. As many have said, there is no wine menu but at the end of the day it isn't necessary at all. We simply told Ward what type of wines we liked and he was able to provide us with amazing selection. The food was fresh and delicious as well. I recommend the tartare and rillet. Overall it was a lovely time and I can't wait to visit again. Thank you Ward for a great time.

What a golden thing this is! I immediately felt welcome at Ward and Ömer. Delicious wines, a top cheese board and pleasant conversations at the bar with other (regular) guests. This is my new favorite cafe!

It's great to visit a place where they understand you

Very good concept, nice selection of wine and service to match. On the other hand, the cuisine is not up to par: cheese board for €17.50 with only 5 small pieces of cheese. This is a bit disappointing compared to the price.

A “hidden gem” for wine, champagne and cheese lovers on the Hoogstraat in Rotterdam: Café Verward. Tonight we enjoyed an East German Wostok lemonade, a bottle of Ratafia Champenois Chavost, and a platter with a variety of fine cheeses.

They don't have a wine list here, but they make sure that everyone drinks a wine that you really like. Super nice service and very tasty wines. When we were there they had small mussels and they were really tasty! Recommended.

What a nice cafe for a drink. You can taste every wine, the service is friendly and fast and they also have a very original menu for a tasty snack. Definitely go there again.

Really enjoy the wines here. Not always easy to get what you want but they are very helpful and you don’t have to be afraid to run dry.

Too bad you can't give 6* for atmosphere and food. Top tent! We like to come there, have a few drinks and enjoy some nice wine. Also an adult audience, so no aso or grumpy people. Gwn people who just want a pleasant evening. And the great thing is that the staff and owner are always so supportive!

Top wine bar, with some great people in the service who really do their best to give you a great experience and also listen carefully to what you like. It was a shame we didn't have more time. Next time we will definitely spend more time here and enjoy it.

Truly fantastic place for wine conoceours and amateurs alike. I'm a wine lover and familiar with the type of wines I like, and they did a great job at recommending 4 different bottles that not only were amazing, but kept getting better and better!

Ambiance relax, sympa, amicale, un peu bruyante. Service souriant, éclairé, avec de bons conseils. Bien sur tout le monde parle anglais. Le barman parle français. C’est la serveuse oenologue (je suppose) qui choisit le vin pour toi. Tres bon choix. J’ai découvert un vin blanc espagnol. Assiette de fromages délicieuse. On peut jouer aussi : grand choix de jeux de société et de damiers.

Super bar à vin ‼️ très bon choix, service professionnel et aimant leur métier. Très convivial, choix de vins précis, on nous a fait goûter des vins avant de consommer. Bravo, nous reviendrons.

When it comes to wine bars, this one is EPIC! Unlike any other, the employees are educated on wine and bring you bottles that suit your taste. That’s right NO WINE LIST! Trust the process, I’ve never been steered wrong. Stop in, grab a cheese board and a glass (or two) and enjoy Rotterdam.

Fantastic wine bar. We visited Rotterdam for two nights and came here both of evenings. Staff were fantastic on both occasions - friendly, knowledgable and very helpful. Food available mainly consists of snacks and cheese and meat boards. The food we had was very tasty and well presented. Would recommend this bar to anyone visiting Rotterdam.

If from now on I was allowed to only go to one bar in the world, it would be Verward.

Een warm bad als je binnenkomt. Zeer persoonlijke sfeer en prachtige wijnen en happen. Heerlijk om even aan te waaien maar ook om heeeel lang te blijven ...... genieten. Super relaxte sfeer aan de bar of aan een tafeltje

Prima, mooie selectie aan wijnen en ook biertje is mogelijk. Inrichting is op z'n best gezegd saai daarom maar 3 sterren.

Seriously the best hospitality me and my friends experienced in the Netherlands after living here for +6 years. Ward, the owner of the bar, was extremely attentive, caring and accommodating. Echt een geweldige bar. Er is niet echt een kaart, maar wel 300 wijnen op fles (en toffe speciaalbieren). Als je zegt wat je lekker vindt dan regelen ze het!

We discovered Verward by strolling down the streets of Rotterdam and it truly made our evening. Great atmosphere and wines with truly delicious food. The rillette de canard was amazing and we were even introduced to yuzu sake by the super friendly Ward, which besides being very knowledgeable about wine, served flavorful espresso’s! Definitely coming back soon!

Samen met mijn dochter voor het eerst een bezoek gebracht aan deze gezellige wijnbar. In de middag onder het genot van een prima Spaanse wijn begeleid met een heerlijke kaasplank en steak tartaar. In de avond na een diner elders teruggekomen voor nog een laatste wijn alvorens weer huiswaarts te keren . Echt een aanrader om hier eens een goede wijn te drinken. Gastvrijheid staat hier hoog in het vaandel.
