Ate and drank here for the first time. Delicious dishes in combination with beautiful wines. The people of Platenburg are (of course) very knowledgeable and know how to tell great stories about the wines they serve. Often from my own experiences with the winegrowers. The atmosphere is casual and the bar is a nice place to be, we can share from experience. A new, nice place for us in the city where we will definitely come back more often!

What a great place for a good glass of wine, delicious food and lovely conversations with the staff about wine. Unfortunately we live too far for a regular visit, but if we are in Rotterdam again we will definitely go back!

If you haven't been there yet, you're missing out! Delicious wine in a cozy bar. Expert explanation of the wines and it feels like a cozy living room with a Burgundian spirit. We had a few snacks that were delicious. Larger dishes can also be reserved, so we will definitely do that next time!

Overall a nice experience. The wines and the food were mostly nice. I was disappointed with the bread they brought as it was stale and not sour though, so a bit of a cheap choice on them. It’s overall a tad expensive for the quality and portions you get, especially with wine tasting. I’m not sure if I’ll be back but if I do I’d rather not go for wine tasting but rather select the wines and snacks.

Very nice spot for a few glasses of wine. The wine list selection is extensive enough, especially bottles from the Coravin list, the list was also quite long and reasonable priced. Staff was very knowledgeable, the guy that was serving us knew a lot about each bottle we asked. For food we only had finger food which was just okay.

Chef Vaggelis was very friendly and the food was delicious! The chef brought the food personally on the table and the chicken was the best chicken I ever ate ! I suggest the restaurant 100%!

What a fantastic wine bar. Unique of its kind. Friendly and very professional service. Most of whom are sommeliers. The kitchen brigade is very passionate. Here you can drink a nice glass of wine with delicious snacks. And if something is not on the wine list, you can choose a bottle in the wine shop and/or wine cooler for a small storage. We are fans!

First time visit. I ordered the chef's menu. The food was uninspiring. Desert was Okay. After the recommended wines pairs the cost was equal to a high quality restaurant. It is better as a wijn bar than a destination for food.

Taste at Platenburg remains an absolute must! After visiting several times, we decided to visit again last Saturday, and it was once again a great success. The wine flight is highly recommended, where you can try different wines in a fun way. The variety of wines is beautiful and the service is always friendly and knowledgeable, which makes the visit extra pleasant. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful location both inside and outside on the terrace. Excellent selection of open wines; someone with wine knowledge for explanation, half and full glasses possible. Enough choice for something to eat. Definitely come by again when I'm in the area👍

Unfortunately, we didn't quite get what you expect from a wine tasting. Glasses of wine have been poured inside, you do not get to see the bottle and you are not allowed to taste it beforehand. If you want to taste it, you have to order a drink for €15, which includes 3 half glasses. Relatively little information about the wine on the menu. Sometimes you get an explanation about the wine, sometimes not. We didn't speak to a sommelier (I don't think). The attention for the people seems to fade away when it gets busier. The cheese board was tasty! The orange wines are recommended, it's a pity that little information has been given about them... it's a pity that we could not taste the white and red wines in advance and could not see the bottle. The staff was friendly.

What a great wine bar/restaurant! Definitely recommended. Beautiful special wines - also by the glass. Nice to get an explanation from the waiters/sommeliers - they know a lot about it. That's a real bonus. The food is also delicious. A real asset to Rotterdam. Beautifully decorated location, good wines, tasty dishes and super staff - friendly, knowledgeable and personal. There is also a terrace and a nice location to rent for small (business) events. :)

Received a nice wine tasting gift. Redeemed the gift voucher on Saturday. Nice glass of bubbles, half a glass of white and 2 half glasses of red. Nice to taste different wines side by side. Nice matching snacks and good explanation. Friendly staff. Suitable for both drinks and a simple but tasteful dinner. We will definitely go there again.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon at Proef bij Platenbrug to taste some wines. Excellent service from the sommelier Joelson who responded very well to our wishes and gave great advice. Great atmosphere, good menu with snacks. Recommended!

Spent a very pleasant and atmospheric afternoon at Proef. The wines to taste were special and very tasty. The explanation by the sommelier, with a lot of knowledge and certainly passion for wine, was very fun to listen to, also educational! And last but not least, delicious and generous snacks.

Without exaggeration, this was the best dining experience I had during my 5 day stay in Rotterdam. The food, the atmosphere, and the service were all excellent without exception. This place is 100% worth the visit and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

We were here to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday, what a nice and beautiful wine bar! Good explanation about the wines during a 'wine flight' by a 22-year-old blond young man who could talk about the wines with a lot of passion and knowledge! We accidentally pushed our table halfway through the evening and the response was very friendly and everything was cleared/replaced. Finally, the Greek chef is very friendly and involved, he often proudly brings the dishes to your table himself and they are delicious! We will definitely be back! :)

We had a small wine tasting plus drinks with snacks here for my mother's birthday, with a group of 45 people. The 'living room' of the tasting room was attractive and large enough for our group. Wine and snacks delicious and staff very friendly and attentive. Worth repeating!

Celebrated my birthday yesterday at Proef bij Platenburg, a wonderful experience. The staff was super friendly, the wine was super tasty and the atmosphere in the beautiful bar was great. Also very nice that a lot was told about the wines and shop! We will definitely come back!!

We were here on a Sunday afternoon, very nice wines on the menu, the blanc de blanc champagne was really delicious 😍! Also did 2 different wine flights (Germany and Italy) which was also great!! Nice explanation and really great wines!! The chef also makes different dishes and you can choose what you want or they will give advice on what to drink with which wine. The goat cheese croquettes with fig chutney 🤤 highly recommended!! The cod fillet was also great! To finish we also had a cheese board with of course a nice glass of port🥰 All in all we had quite a few great hours here!! It's not very cheap, but hey, you should treat yourself once in a while 😉

Bij toeval tegengekomen en wat een aangename verrassing! Naast “A ride on the trains” hebben we genoten van enkele hapjes. Proef behoort tot de naastgelegen wijnhandel, die tot vier generaties terug gaat, en die passie merk je. Correcte prijzen, ongedwongen sfeer en zeer vriendelijke service! Aanrader dus 👍

Geweldige gelegenheid! De moeite waard om naar toe te gaan.

Allereerst is de verbouwing zeer succesvol gelukt en hangt er een goede ambiance. De opzet is slim gedaan met voorin het pand de bar + tafeltjes en achterin een grote tafel voor cursussen e.d. Het was mooi om te zien hoe het gloednieuwe personeel al op een deskundige manier hun kennis en passie over de wijnen en alles daaromheen konden delen. We hebben ook interessante gesprekken gehad over mogelijke wijn-spijs combinaties. We waren erg te spreken over de "wine-flights", waarbij je drie halve glazen voorgeschoteld krijgt. Bijvoorbeeld een pinot noir uit Zuid-Frankrijk, eentje uit Noord-Frankrijk en een (klassieke) uit de Bourgogne. Een mooie manier om de gasten inzicht te geven in de verschillen binnen één druivenras. Absoluut een aanwinst in het centrum van de stad! Kom er vooral een keertje proeven en genieten! 👍🏻🍇

Hele mooie wijnbar, waar je in huiselijke sfeer wordt begeleid naar hele knappe wijn met heerlijke hapjes. Erg leuk concept waar je ook halve glazen kunt proeven of een kleine proeverij van 3 halve glazen kunt doen. Bijzonder aan te raden voor een borrel of gezellig avondje uit.

Leuke gezellige wijnbar. Ze hebben heel veel verschillende wijnen en fijne bediening die je kan helpen iets lekkers uit te zoeken. Het eten dat ze aanbieden is ook heerlijk. Op de kaart staan kleine hapjes en kazen, daarnaast worden ook steeds wisselende hapjes uit de keuken aangeboden. Wij hadden de pita met oesterzwam gyros, heerlijk!
