I've had lunch at this Loetje branch twice now. Both times, the service was great and the food was delicious! 12 o'clock is always my favorite!

I had a tenderloin steak with salad and it was okay. I was lacking the smoky flavor and tenderness. The service was very good and the atmosphere is nice.

Luckily, Loetje! Haarlem still had a spot available on Boxing Day, after Wilma and Albert (restaurant) let us down by failing to record our reservation correctly twice. Loetje! Thank you for the delicious food and friendly hospitality. We had the signature steak, the delicious satay, and my wife the schnitzel. The meat was cooked perfectly, so not tough at all. We had the truffle carpaccio and onion soup as a starter. Thanks to Loetje, we were still able to enjoy a wonderful Boxing Day dinner. We will definitely be back. Keep up the good work. The photo is a bit dark, unfortunately. Oh yes, the bread was included, and the fries with mayo were nice and crispy.

It was very cold inside, which made it uncomfortable. The chairs were also really uncomfortable for extended dining. A cushion would have been nice.

We made a reservation for 6:45 PM yesterday, and when we arrived on time, we had to wait 15 minutes before anyone would speak to us. We were then told, without hesitation, that there was currently no table available and that we'd have to stand for at least half an hour. When we expressed our displeasure because the kids needed to go to bed early, and we had made a reservation, we received a very unfriendly and unprofessional response from the staff. I'll never go there again.

I really enjoyed the liver steak. The portion was medium-sized and medium-rare (the meat was cooked perfectly). The grilled vegetables were delicious. Great for those who love fatty foods and those on the keto diet! We'll definitely be back again and bringing friends. It was a great New Year's atmosphere, very crowded, and almost every seat was taken. It's quite a popular place.

We had a delicious steak with sweet potato. The iceball dessert was especially delicious.

During the Christmas market, we had the last spot at the bar. The steak with original gravy and bread was excellent!

The Balinese steak is consistently good. Fast service and delicious food.

And I discovered another really nice Loetje. Not too big, but warm and welcoming. Great offer with a QR code for free chicken with avocado from January 6th until sometime in February. I'm curious how big that portion will be.

Stopped just for drinks and a snack of fries. Nice atmosphere, good drinks and fries. Good place to warm up on a very chilly day.

The food was excellent again. The staff was also very friendly. It was a shame, however, that one of the waitresses only spoke (broken) English, which made ordering a bit difficult.

Our table (reserved) was given to someone else, which was a shame, but it was quickly resolved. It took a while for the order to be taken, but when it arrived, it was fantastic!

We had a party of 7 for lunch and it was excellent! The steaks and tuna steak were exceptional. We will definitely go back.

The steak is very good and highly recommended. The chairs are hard and uncomfortable. The atmosphere is not welcoming.

Ate again today, and unfortunately, there was a hair in the gravy. We noticed it at the end. Last time, the bread was soggy and clearly came from the freezer. A long wait for the bill and no apology for the hair.

This time I ordered a 12-hour lunch. Onion soup (unfortunately without the delicious gratinated cheese and bread). I didn't really like the tuna salad, but I did get a delicious croquette with fresh bread. The service was excellent. Next time I'll definitely order the fried eggs :)

Been in Haarlem for quite some time now, with their well-known delicious steak, and of course other delicious dishes, I was there recently with my family to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary, delicious food, affordable, super friendly staff, and not to forget for dessert an oversized cream puff with vanilla ice cream and boerenjongens,

I don’t know why, I feel like the place needs some pillows, some warmth. My steak was not medium rare and to prove it is not, I had to cut my well done steak in the middle to see a 20 cent size spot where in did was medium rare. That, I learnt it is considered a medium rare steak.

It's just a Loetje in a beautiful location in the heart of Haarlem. The food is excellent, the restaurant is clean, and the service is top-notch. Only one comment: this restaurant is simply NOT wheelchair-accessible. You have to climb a few steps to reach the restroom. Please remove the signs or do something about those steps. This is simply unacceptable.

Do not come here for coffee! The worst coffee I ever had, from a machine. Also the floor was dirty, had not been cleaned from the night before. The food was average but the staff were friendly. We are not going back.

Great restaurant in Haarlem. 2nd time there this year. Both times were very good. Steaks are great and the service is too. We had great seating and I would recommend a reservation on Fri or Sat.

The steak was as you'd expect at Loetje, super delicious. Cooked exactly as I requested. White bread and fries, delicious. The lettuce, however, didn't look fresh, with brown edges. That was a shame. Otherwise, the food would have gotten 5 stars.

The signature tenderloin steak is delicious. The accompanying chips are, disappointingly, tasteless.

The worst of all the Loetjes we've ever eaten at! The starter: The carpaccio was almost impossible to find due to the enormous pile of truffle mayonnaise. The service: The waitress took the used dishes off the starter and walked away with it. Immediately, without any pause, another waiter arrived at the table with the main course. The main course: The steak is cooked medium as standard at all Loetjes (unless you request otherwise), but this one was cooked far too long, no longer pink inside, not hot, and anything but tender. The fries—one was limp and half-warm, while the other was hot and crispy. We got the impression they weren't cooking to order, but to stock... Surely another customer's steak didn't go back to the kitchen and was served to us? We were asked if we wanted slices of white bread with our steak... Of course! We actually thought this was standard fare. We were astonished that the bread was included on the bill at a high price. Next time we'll just drive to Loetje aan 't IJ again, our favorite!

Loetje is a great location with good food and friendly staff. For the kids, there's a coloring sheet and pencils they can take home. It was our son's birthday, and they celebrated it with fireworks.

I'm a bit dubious about this location. Better than Overveen, as you sometimes get a seat in the back and can't hear anyone when it's busy. Unfortunately, when everyone came in, the table next to us was almost on my lap. I understand you want to fill the place, but this is just not relaxing. It also took ages for something to be cleared from our table. The staff was otherwise friendly, and because we were very early, the first half hour was manageable. The steak Bali was delicious, but the gravy was incredibly salty. I also have to say that the prices here are very high for what you get; a portion of fries for almost €7...

Loetje never dissapoints in terms of food, for sure a good steak we loved it! service was somewhat slow and we had to ask for some drinks/dessert etx. was a fun evening! Sad to see the prices go up that much in the past years, its gotten crazy expensive here now!

Ate typical Loetje, simple but delicious

Ordered drink and food, all came, two of them were not correct. Waited for some time to get the correct order. but there was no cutlery service even though all the food is delivered. Meat got cold. We asked two times for cutlery service. They said ‘of course!’ But then nothing. And we asked more bread, they said ‘of course’ but nothing came. And I want to say that it was not crowded. Different waiters only say ‘Of course’ That’s it. Overveen branch is the best branch so far. If you ever thinking to come here and eat, think twice!

The food was delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly medium! A bit more expensive for the relatively small amount on the plate, but friendly service and good quality. It's a bit drafty, so maybe close the door if it's windy outside.

If you pay €42.50 for lunch, and pay with €50,- Is it normal for the waiter to ask if I want change back??? And be surprised when I say yes!! Sorry Loetje, are you so bad at paying staff??? Last time for me at the branch

A big thumbs up for Loetje Haarlem. The 3 steaks ordered by 'Riki' (Make a wish for residents of Schoterhof nursing home) for my sister-in-law, who wanted to eat a delicious steak again, were given away completely free of charge when they picked it up on June 26. Because they thought it was such a nice gesture. We thought it was an even nicer gesture from Loetje. We enjoyed the perfect steaks and my 90-year-old sister-in-law was completely delighted and grateful. Trudy Hoogeboom-van Velzen

A top place, nice service, good food

Delicious food with plenty of vegetarian/vegan options. The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance and music were excellent. The coffee was also excellent. If life brings me back to Haarlem, I'd be happy to come back.

Great restaurant, especially if you like steak: can be ordered in three sizes. Only served "bare", so you will have to order a portion of fries or vegetables separately. One portion of fries (€ 6.75) is for 2-3 people with sufficient mayonnaise. Not many choices if you want to eat vegetarian. Tasty desserts. Friendly and quick service. It is easy to reserve a table via the website www.loetje.nl.

Not helped properly upon arrival, waited 20 minutes for water, bones in the eel, the gentleman next to us only received his gingerale after we complained about everything. Paid 64.20 for bad service

After ordering a cocktail 3 times, at least they didn't have the 1st, nor did they have the 2nd and 3rd. Then a drink that they had ordered, and an appetizer, ohhh they didn't have either. 5:15 PM so the evening has yet to start. Sorry, but I think that's really bad if you order 4 things and all 4 are no longer available. So we skipped dinner and went somewhere else. It also took a very long time before we could even order and receive it. Better used to it from Loetje, but Haarlem won't be back anytime soon.

Tasty! Tasty! Tasty! The best beef I've had in ages! Perfect texture, slightly crispy and what a unique gravy! It is so good that it makes you eat it slowly! Service was also great, the staff were friendly and food was quick!

Cozy place but unfortunately the worst Loetje restaurant I have been to so far. Service was very slow and mediocre. A man (with glasses) was friendly and good. The rest were disinterested and slow. Unfortunately, the steak also arrived cold on the table and it took a very long time to remove our plates. Food was also fine. For us, we have not seen many better restaurants in Haarlem for this money…

We went for lunch. On arrival, I didn’t find the waiter that friendly, I almost felt like we were stopping him from doing something else. We had bitterbollen, pulled chicken sandwich and apple pie. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and well presented however the service lets this place down. The toilets also let the place down they need a bit of a facelift, one of the handles on the toilet cubicle was broken the other was very dark and dingy. It was also difficult to distinguish which was the women’s and men’s as the main door to the women’s was open which made it seem like the men’s was inside the women’s toilet.

We made one reservation at 19.30 for 20.30, they confirmed it even by email and when we arrive to the restaurant the waiter said us that the reservation didn’t have been taken so they didn’t have space. So we had to turn 30 minutes to find another place. unprofessional and unstylish.

Apparently, now they have this new game to find the good bitterball. On our “Bittergarnituur” we ordered to share, we got 8 bitterballen and only one of them had some filling! The rest were almost empty or directly empty, as the one on the picture. The rest of the dinner was fine. The meat was good, as well as the service.

The steak and sauce at Loetje Haarlem were tasty and well-prepared. However, the sides and vegetables were way too oily, which took away from the overall experience. A bit more balance would really elevate the meal.

A magical touch to my Haarlem visit! I enjoyed a delicious liver dish topped with crispy bacon and perfectly caramelized onions — all in a cozy and delightful atmosphere. Truly a hidden gem worth revisiting!

Really fresh food, the salad was beautiful but with a little too much dressing. The pastrami sandwich was a special which again was lovely but could have had more flavour. Both were expensive. The shrimp croquettes were divine however!! Would definitely return, prices are just a little high

Fantastic lunch, I wanted to try the oysters and something light and the staff offered many options for my dining experience. The dining room is comfortable and has a cost feel, most days there were people outside but was a bit cold today. The staff was pleasant and as I knew what I wanted I ordered before being seated. Food arrived quickly, first my Scottish oysters followed by the soup of the day which does not translate well into English but is a vegetable based soup similar to artichoke. Service was wonderful relaxing and enjoyable. One to keep on the list for sure.

Truly, the tastiest steak I have ever eaten. Tasty starters too. We skipped dessert because we were both quite tired of the main course. Service was very friendly. For some reason we had to wait twice for our drinks, but that was resolved promptly by the staff both times.

Cozy restaurant with very friendly staff! The waitress was also joking and you could tell she likes her job. That always creates an extra nice atmosphere! Service is also very fast and we had a delicious meal. Another nice thing: we felt no time pressure at all (in some restaurants nowadays you just feel that you are being looked away for the next batch). I will definitely come back here again!

I recently had lunch with 2 friends, it was delicious, but the wooden chairs are terrible. Not really customer friendly. I had pain in my back and buttocks for 2 days. So it's just this one time... Very unfortunate, the location is nice...

Always exactly what you expect. However, the design of this loetje is different from all the others and feels much more modern. However, there is a huge draft from the kitchen at the last table. You also look straight into the kitchen and into refrigerators. Not really recommended to sit at that table.

Delicious tenderloin steak. They serve it very tender, medium rare, and the sautéed mushrooms on the side were great. Knife just glided through it like butter, super nice. The atmosphere was less exciting, but drinks and food were served quickly. Overall, it's worth a visit for a good steak, sharing fries with a friend/date, and large windows to enjoy the view in front of the church.

We went Loetje for my birthday dinner with my baby daughter tonight. As soon as we ordered our food my baby started to cry so badly. My husband took her and went outside for a walk but whenever she returned back she looked at me and started to cry and scream. All other table looked at us like we were aliens. So my husband could not even able to sit to the table and there was still no food. I asked waiter to please prepare a take away because its not possible to eat. She asked and returned 10 mins later that they preparing take away while my baby still crying.. after 7 mins later waiter came and ask me that if I want also souse with my steak in the container or not because maybe it can be fall off.. I said yes with sauce please and still my daughter crying so badly.. 13 mins after she came again and said that she has a bad news that there is no take away option because they don’t have any container for it but we have to pay for it. I did not accept the payment and she called her manager, he told me that he will try to find a container like asking other restaurants and it will take max 5 mins.. I waited 10 mins and went to next my husband just in front of the enterence.. the manager called us laudly that “ guys are you gonna pay!!! Because you have to!” While my daughter on my arms while she is crying .. We said that yes we will .. My husband paid the bill and my daughter cried around 45 mins or 1 hour because of me.. because I could not stand up and paid this fxx bill and go home.. Worst birthday ever.. If they just tell me that no option bu I should pay then I would and go home without waiting for it, Sorry you are not a good restaurant and probably I am not a good mother as well..

Loetje never disappoints if you are in the mood for a great steak. The Haarlem Centre store is small, but cosy with lovely decor and appreciate how they cleverly dampen the acoustics.

A food factory. They are known for their good steak. Mine was not tasty. Had a liver taste probably because it was overcooked and the gravy was way too salty. In my opinion, the portion of fries is way too big. So are the beans. It's a shame because then a lot of it has to be thrown away.

Nice waitress. She just didn't keep an eye on the customers. I had to order our second drink at the bar because she wasn't making eye contact with the customers.

Very expensive for a medium size steak (small 27 EUR). Fries and salad must be ordered separately. The 'famous' Loetje gravy was very salty and inedible. Leave this and this would be passed on to the kitchen. The service itself was very attentive.

We waren hier met ons gezin bestaande uit 6 volwassenen. Ontvangst is prima. Tafeltje begane grond was erg klein zo ook de stoeltjes. Met meerdere mensen wordt het onaangenaam druk, herrie achtig. Het is een rommelige bediening. Ipv alles tegelijkertijd brengen en afruimen werd ieder bordje apart opgehaald terwijl anderen nog zaten te eten. Smaak was veelal hetzelfde en citrusachtig. Wij hadden het 7 gangen en zijn na 4 gangen met 2e weg gegaan vanwege maagklachten. De Iberico was te heftig van smaak. De prijs is veel te hoog gezien het aanbod. Jammer deze ervaring.

While loetje is not my favorite, I do enjoy the food and the atmosphere! Good service, delicious ice tea specials and excellent food. It's a bit pricey these days for what you get, but that's not because of Loetje of course!

Overall the experience was ok - the restaurant looks really nice and it's a nice atmosphere. I know they are a new restaurant so the staff is still probably finding their rhythm. The food is always pretty good at Loetje, but my only complaint is if you order salad or a side dish you can't put it on your plate since they fill it with sauce and they don't give you a side plate. It was impossible to share a side salad with my husband! The staff did mess up our drinks and charges us for a drink we never ordered - they corrected the issue afterwards. Not sure if I would rush back there but the steak was good!

Loetje is a nice restaurant where it is very cozy and where you can enjoy delicious food.

Loetje, you've disappointed me for the second time. Let me start with the service. Drinks were well replenished, but the clerk did not know anything about the wine list. She went to ask the other clerks, but we didn't see anyone anymore. Loetje, if you're trying so hard to be a luxury restaurant, make sure your waiters know something about wine. Now for something much worse: the bar staff. From my seat I had a good view of the bar. Two events behind this bar gave me a bad aftertaste to my Loetje visit. First, I saw the bartender open a bottle of white wine with his mouth. I wish I made this up but it really happened. I think this is super unhygienic, of course, and not desirable from your staff? A while later (the same one) the bartender squirted whipped cream onto the floor with a whipped cream can. The clerk standing by had to laugh at that. Strange, this behavior. Then about the food. Every Dutch person already knows that steak is overpriced, so I won't mention that myself. It's a shame that an employee upsells you for extra fries. The fries were also WAY too salty. I thought the starter and dessert were fine to eat, but they are comparable or better in almost every other restaurant. I had the carpaccio and the creme brulee. The steak remains very tasty, but it is just very expensive for what you get. The gravy that comes with the steak is very bad by the way. All in all, the food is just very tasty. But if you really want to radiate luxury, choose your controls a little better. Loetje is a restaurant that wants to radiate luxury but is simply not luxurious. You don't have to come here for the atmosphere, every table is right next to each other and you can hear everyone talking at the same time. 2 stars, that's all I can say. I was here Dec 22, 2024.

Tasty food, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff

Food was okay, at one point half of the waiters disappeared and there was a door that service was using constantly that was annoying for the person sitting next to it, but it also spreaded a really disgusting sewer smell

Super good service, luch food in our case very good, the place very pleasant. Very good option.
