What a terrible thing to do, and so utterly incomprehensible about their own mistakes. Watch out!! The bill is wrong, and if they want to reimburse it, the compensation isn't right either. But the attitude of the staff and owner, in particular, leaves much to be desired.

Bland - The food was disappointingly plain and did not justify the prices charged. Unfortunately, the service was even worse. Our order was taken incorrectly, and we were then blamed for supposedly requesting the wrong dishes. To add to this, we were overcharged for items we did not order. The attitude of the owner/manager was particularly poor and made the experience even more unsatisfactory. I would not recommend this establishment based on our visit. Follow up edit to owner's response: My review reflects my honest experience. No free bottle of wine was offered, and the meal we complained about was not taken off the bill; in fact, we paid for items we did not order, as shown on our receipt. Your response calling me a liar and a “cheapskate” is inaccurate and inappropriate, especially given that we chose not to argue in person with the aggressive tone used on the day and instead paid and left. I stand by my original review, and several people in our group can confirm what actually happened.

I popped in unannounced to eat alone. There was plenty of room, and I received excellent service. I enjoyed my meal, though not a culinary masterpiece, but simply delicious. The price is average, and the portions are good. Besides the three-course menu, I also enjoyed two beers and a cup of coffee. By the end of my three courses, the ground floor was completely full with reservations. So, if you definitely want to dine here with a group, it's advisable to make a reservation, although there was a table available for me.

The food is very good, but the plate is quite bare when it arrives.

I celebrated my birthday in a very relaxed atmosphere with my children and grandchildren. Delicious food and drinks were served by friendly staff in a cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Great location, great staff, and the food was generally good, but this time the satay was way too salty. That wasn't good at all, so better to have too little salt than too much, and I love salty food, so it was way too much.

The new menu is surprising and delicious!! Highly recommended for trying something different. The spare ribs are #1 in the area, but now I've discovered something else, including beetroot. It gives it a run for its money. Very satisfied!!!

Actually, no stars, which is to say, the owner doesn't pay his employees. I found it poor and the wait was very long. The alley where the business is located is also quite narrow, and there are no terraces.

I've been coming here for about 20 years. Food has always been very okay and it still is. The spareribs were so soft the bones just fell out. The rest was good as well. The only downside of the evening was all the substitutions, no icecream flavour, no chocolate for the same blanche etc. Service was great and handled the shortage well.

We had a wonderful meal here; the spare ribs were perfect! The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were friendly. The time between courses was a bit long, but the restaurant was full and we were with a larger group, so that's to be expected. All in all, fantastic!

Een gezellig restaurant met een sfeervol interieur. De locatie, in een zijstraatje naast het water, is wat verborgen, maar absoluut de moeite waard om te ontdekken. De bediening was uitstekend, met een bijzonder vriendelijke jongeman. Het eten was subliem: zeer smaakvol en royale porties. We genoten van een driegangenmenu en het is lang geleden dat we zoveel en zo lekker gegeten hebben. Echt een uitdaging om alles op te krijgen! Kortom: superlekker eten, mooi interieur, vriendelijke service en meer dan voldoende op je bord. Een verborgen parel die je niet mag missen!

From Warehouse to Waiting Room We started off on a sour note: the first beer we received was either half full or half empty—depending on how you look at it. The waiter, who seemed to be wiping away sweat more than taking orders, made a fool of himself with a blue tea towel, drying his face instead of the glasses. Apparently, the air conditioning wasn't allowed on, and the ice cubes were so small they'd melted before they even hit the table. Menus? We had to find them ourselves. After an hour of waiting, the appetizers finally arrived, and yes, you guessed it: the wait for the main courses took almost as long. The fries were re-fried (you've heard the story), and the tiger prawns (4 pieces) only came with a little green onion—and all for the price you'd normally pay for a meal in another city. The waiter did try his best and called management (who, given the lack of staff, weren't actually in the house), which resulted in an offer of free fries and drinks. But honestly, that wasn't enough to save the day. The service and quality really need a major overhaul.

The atmosphere was pleasant. You could tell the staff were busy, but they remained friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, though there was one minor drawback: while most restaurants include fries, here they charged an extra €4. I found that a shame.

Had a wonderful family dinner and were spoiled with culinary delights.

Had dinner here last Tuesday, it was really great! The spare ribs were so tender that the meat came off the bone, the burger was also deliciously tender. For dessert I wanted the baklava but unfortunately it was not there, I then asked for a dame blanche with cinnamon ice cream which was fortunately possible and it was delicious! I would definitely come back again if I am in the area.

I came all the way from San Francisco, and this was my first time visiting Het Pakhuis in Haarlem and I absolutely loved it!! The food was wonderful, full of rich flavors and clearly made with care. The cocktails were incredibly good, perfectly mixed and so refreshing. What truly surprised me were the desserts fresh baklava and homemade cheesecake, both absolutely delicious!! Everything from the atmosphere to the service made this an unforgettable experience. If you’re in Haarlem, don’t miss this place. I’ll definitely be coming back whenever I’m in town!

We always enjoy coming here with family or friends. Always a nice, spacious place, just outside the hustle and bustle in an alley. I always go for the spareribs and they are really great! But the other dishes are also always excellent.

The owner gave us a great deal without having any reason to do so after miscommunication. Respect to the owner for what he did.

Ordered 2 x Tournedos skewers, asked in the comments if it could be red. It was two skewers with pieces of shoe sole. The fries were cold and 1 of the sauces was not sealed properly so was loose in a foam box. Ordered here for the first time but also for the last time.

It took a very long time for the food to arrive, fish cocktail was a plate of lettuce with three slices of salmon, main course was way too salty, sole was hard and also too salty and sent back. Venison steak raw on the inside and fried too hard on the outside. Service, on the other hand, was very nice.

Food is good, especially for the price. Service is always good and atmosphere relaxed. We like coming here.

We had a perfect steak with nicely grilled vegetables and some fries. It was delicious. The chocolate cake with cinnamon ice was of similar statue, melting on my tongue. Ambience and waiter of this grand cafe feeling restaurant were also nice and caring. I will visit again when in haarlem.

This was better than expected for my mother in law's birthday dinner. We enjoyed the chicken satay, burger and tenderloin skewers...all was a large portion, good value and great server, the guy was friendly and attentive. Thanks 👍🏼

Nice place with good food and plenty of different choices on the menu. Only downside is that there is a lot of noise when big groups are dining here. On those nights, the service to the other customers is also a bit slower (we became invisible to the staff after we finished our food).

Food was okey but no more than that. E.g. coleslaw that has the aftertaste of fish? And the daily menu salmon and prawns an almost raw salmon fillet and 2 large shrimps, no prawns. Service is nice, but e.g. take your glass with you while there are still a few sips in it or take your napkin with you and say come and bring a new one and then nothing will happen. I understand that I can also indicate some things, but in most restaurants this happens automatically, but unfortunately not here.

Not much special. It was striking that we had ordered the tournedos with several people at the table and some had a piece that was almost twice as large as the others. As a result, the small piece was overcooked. This was indicated to the waiter, it was resolved neatly and a new dish was quickly offered. So the service is good, the dishes are of very poor quality. The atmosphere in the restaurant is not entirely special. So if you want to eat well, spend a little more, it is better to skip the Pakhuis in Haarlem.

Formerly a nice place (van Rol) with simple and good food. Now standard, mediocre and much higher prices. Go eat at the Greek restaurant across the street!

Very busy, in my opinion few staff, waiting time also very long (more than 2 hours for main course). The staff that was there worked hard. Food good but not special. Cheesecake not baked is a shame.

Helaas geen goede ervaring. Allereerst werden mijn prosecco glas matig gevuld. Voor het hoofdgerecht betaal je 24,50 en krijg je een smakeloos stukje zout vlees, er staat geserveerd met groenten maar dat waren een paar stukjes. Voor patat betaal je extra bij. Mijn vriendin of de hertenbiefstuk doorbakken geserveerd kon worden maar deze was helemaal rauw van binnen, na het terug gestuurd te hebben moesten we lang wachten op een nieuwe portie, wat niet erg is, maar vervolgens kreeg ze buikpijn tijdens het eten van de biefstuk en is ze erna de hele nacht en dag erna ziek geweest. Toen ik de eigenaar/ manager belde om alleen door te geven dat ze ziek is geworden de dag erna ging hij meteen in de verdediging dat het niet door de biefstuk kon komen en heeft op een enkele andere wijze meegedacht om tot een goede oplossing te komen. Hele onprofessionele manier van gastvrij handelen. We komen hier nooit meer terug. De bediening is lief maar wel wat jong en onervaren, zo kwam het over. Maar dat deed niet af aan deze ervaring.

Unfortunately not a good experience. First of all, my prosecco glass was moderately filled. For the main course you pay 24.50 and you get a tasteless piece of salty meat, it says served with vegetables but there were only a few pieces. You pay extra for fries. My friend asked whether the venison steak could be served well done, but it was completely raw on the inside, after sending it back we had to wait a long time for a new portion, which is not bad, but then she got a stomach ache while eating the steak and she was sick all night and the next day. When I called the owner/manager to simply let her know that she had become ill the next day, he immediately became defensive that it could not have been caused by the steak and thought of another way to find a good solution. Very unprofessional way of acting hospitably. We will never come back here again. The service is nice but a bit young and inexperienced, that's how it came across. But that didn't detract from this experience.

Had dinner here last night, unfortunately had to return the tournedos twice because it was not cooked medium rare. The 3rd time it was good, only the vegetables were cold. Partner had already finished all her food. Ordered coffee with dessert. Only the coffee was weak. When paying, we were not asked how the food tasted or how the evening had been. In addition, no compensation was offered. Food was tasty! And the atmosphere is good. If the extra bit of attention had been given, it would have made more of the evening.

Delicious food! Almost haute cuisine. And that for a reasonable price. Where do you still see that nowadays?

Surprisingly large restaurant in this small alley. With a group of 14 people we were divided in two into a large and small table. Very strange. Then the food: as a main course, 1 skewer of satay with 4 slices of pickle and a handful of prawn crackers with three drops of satay sauce and ten fries is too poor for what you pay for it. 5.20 euros for a beer makes for a hefty bill afterwards. The service was excellent, smooth and helpful. Would I go here again: no, it wasn't that special.

A gem in a beautiful street. Haarlem is such a fun eating out city. Eating at the warehouse is delicious. Chose spare ribs that literally fell off the bone, so tender, really great! Starter was beautiful and above all very tasty. Nice beer, Brugse Zot! Employees super friendly and attentive. I can't think of anything that could have been better, so 5 stars. Even the bill doesn't scare you.

3.5 Staff were great fun and very accommodating. Great atmosphere too, down a side alley but it just needs something more. My fish dish was pleasant but quite bland. Fish itself was cooked ok but it looked very undercooked so not so appealing. Red wine was not great either…. Tenderloin skewer was decent but not so attractive to look at. Cheesecake lovely. Overall I just wanted it to be a bit better.

Het eten was goed, de bediening vriendelijk. Organisatie niet adequaat. De rekening niet correct en onwillig dit goed in orde gemaakt. Met als gevolg 9 euro teveel betaald. Ik had geen zin om er nog verder op in te gaan en het zo gelaten. Ik had gewaarschuwd moeten zijn omdat de persoon die voor mij afrekende ook teveel werd aangeslagen en dit ook niet goed werd opgelost.

Het eten is niet duur maar ook beslist niet bijzonder. Maaltijdsalade zalm bestond uit beetje sla, wat plukjes zalm en witbroodcroutons. Bestel je een glas water bij je wijn, dan blijkt dat op de rekening opeens ‘chaudfontaine’ in een karafje te zijn. Bijna 5 euro!

We hebben hier een driegangenmenu genomen. Dit was smakelijk en voor een redelijke prijs. De bediening is vriendelijk. Het herentoilet voor wat betreft het zitgedeelte is slecht toegankelijk.

Eten was prima. Niets hoogstaand, maar dat is prima voor de prijs die je betaald. Personeel is erg vriendelijk.

Een aanrader om te gaan eten. Goede kwaliteit en hoeveelheid eten voor een goede prijs. Leuke gastheer, goede bediening. Het zit in een klein gezellig straatje waar je wel even naar moet zoeken. Maar nogmaals..de moeite waard!

Beetje een 'hidden gem', je loopt er niet zomaar langs. Mooie gevarieerd menu. Vraag vooral om de extra wijnkaart.

Goed gegeten, vriendelijke bediening en oplettend. Mooi 3 gangenmenu voor een aardige prijs.

Gisteren heerlijk gegeten met het team, iedereen uitermate tevreden over het eten, de bediening en de sfeer. Zeer goed betaalbaar voor het lekkere eten dat je krijgt.

Aangename, gemoedelijke sfeer, waar je rustig kan zitten zonder herrie maar toch gezellig, waar iedereen van jong tot oud zich op z'n gemak kan voelen. Het eten was prima, geen heel culinaire hoogstandjes maar het smaakte beslist wel goed. Kortom; prijs/kwaliteit verhouding klopte. Hoofdgerechten benaderden wat betreft portiegrootte eerder een voorgerecht, maar zo heb je nog wel trek in een nagerecht, wat ook wel weer leuk is want die waren ook lekker en daarna zaten we toch echt wel vol. De bediening was ook heel vriendelijk, twee jonge lieve mensen die hun best deden. Wij komen vast nog wel eens een keer terug !

Erg jammer ! Wat je krijg voor het bedrag 19.50 voor 1 stukje kippendijen saté zonder patat want dat moets je er nog eens los bij kopen. Daar in tegen was de bediening wel erg vriendelijk

Heerlijk genoten, kan niet anders zeggen. Hele fijne bediening, zeer gemist in deze tijd, het eten ja ik zal zeebaars kroket aanbevelen maar kortom, alles was lekker, absolute aanrader! En ik kan gewoon lactosevrij genieten.

Wir haben uns spontan für ein Restaurant in einer Seitengasse entschieden. Da wir noch früh dran waren, waren wir zuerst die einzigen Gäste Nach einem freundlichen Empfang und der Menükarte hatten wir uns für ein 3 Gänge Menü + einer zweiten Hauptspeise entschieden. Es gab vorweg Frühlingsrollen, die vermutlich vorbereitet aber selbstgemacht waren, mit einer sehr gute sweat Chili Soße. Im Anschluss gab es nach ca. 20min Wartezeit die Hauptgänge. Die Aubergine mit Feta und Gemüsefüllung war lecker. Das Lamm war auf den Punkt zubereitet, mit einem selbstgemachten Pesto. Hervorzuheben sind auch die herausragenden Pommes. Die Portionen sind dabei nicht übermäßig aber ausreichend. Zum Abschluss gab es New York Cheesecake Dieser war ebenfalls gut Das Menü lag bei 33.50 + 23.50 das Lamm Hinzu kommen noch die Getränke Alles zusammen war die Entscheidung in einer Seitengasse nach einem Restaurant zu schauen wieder einmal die richtige.
