Pretty crap service for “foreigners” of different ethnicity. Ordered a Whiskey not much of a selection. Service basically indifferent… Cheers

Nice place, the young girl with the red hair was unfortunately a bit rude and extremely unfriendly. It’s a shame.

Lovely bar. We came here for a beer late in the evening as it is very close to our hotel and I must say: we discovered a real gem! Very authentic oldschool vibe, lovely bartender, recommended us some great beers and even offered us some water for a dog (which wasn’t ours lol, but point stands that it was very nice of him to ask). Definitely recommend!

Went to Cafe Welling for a late night drink and to play cards on our last night in Amsterdam on holiday. This was a lovely little pub. Both the outside and inside have plenty of tables for sitting, and it feels like a real local spot. The bartender was very nice, and the prices were unbelievably affordable. Lovely, non-touristy spot for cheap drinks!

Café Welling is truly amazing! Highly recommended! Very friendly staff and delicious beer. They also serve small snacks, but not full-on meals, although the snacks are delicious.

I love this place! A classic old bar with good beers, limited but better-than-average food, and a spectacular atmosphere. There's a beautiful terrace to sit outside and a cozy atmosphere inside. You have to order everything at the bar, but the vibe is great. On Sunday afternoons, they host mini-jazz concerts that fill the place.

Good tosti, good beer, friendly staff and a lovely wicker armchair on a quiet corner terrace to enjoy it all. Perfect!

A brilliant brown bar tucked away behind the concert hall. Very cosy with friendly staff. A wide range of beers and v reasonable house wines.

We were treated rudely by a dull-witted lady behind the bar. We don't have to become friends, but a friendly person behind the bar seems very normal to me. There was a guy who did his best to be nice, which was appreciated. So if you're looking for a nice bar, dive into the Jordaan, there are plenty of them.

My favorite café for years when I go to the Concertgebouw. I'm from Eindhoven and always go to this pub. Delicious beers and snacks (beef sausage and liver sausage)! The atmosphere is great and you always get to talk to people you didn't know before. Also today on the way to the Concertgebouw and Welling.

Just easter chats over nuts and beers. No music and great clientele and barstaff.

Very cozy neighborhood pub, perfect for drinking before a great concert in the Concertgebouw or for a drink afterwards, of course. Tasty snacks from the kitchen (toasted sandwiches recommended) and a nice beer list. Also a nice owner and employees

Super nice little cozy brown café, in the middle of a residential area in Amsterdam.

A very unique place in this neighborhood. I wanted to go in with my Venezuelan friend, I had a couple of beers and stayed in the place for a while. The waiter, slim with good levis and a very friendly smile, served us wonderfully. He Bar atmosphere makes you feel in a real Dutch bar, the smell, the people, the cat, the service, the tables, the lamps, everything. A place that is very nice.

Food is just for snacks but great character of bar atmosphere and the people who come through it. Social bartenders who don't seem burned out by tourists and own little traditions, if you are in the area it's a must check out in a city filled wirh bars with character

A great little bar on the edge of town. A good range of drinks and a homely atmosphere. Seating inside and out makes it a great place for a drink after being to the theatre especially. Very welcoming staff who loved chatting about his alcoholic offerings. Great place with limited dining.

Special café, just no music, how wonderful is that?! Not hoarse because you have to have a conversation over the music. Nice mix of visitors, from young to old. Nice service!

Don't go ;-). Nothing to it. Very clean glasses. Not nice the sparkling free boys Gulpener Beer that they serve. The gins are too special and too varied and the audience too mixed.

Owner and manager of the place very welcoming and friendly. Availability, kindness and professionalism come first. First evening in Amsterdam, very late, everything closed. We enter this place near the hotel, the only one open, and despite the time and close to closing they didn't refuse to prepare us a quick meal even though the kitchen was closed. Fantastic beer

Authentic cafe, visited as a tourist. Moderately heated. Nice choice of draft beer. Friendly staff. No music. Plus points for the young guest who reads a book standing in the middle of the shop.

Upon entering, a young man comes forward to welcome us and without waiting for us to speak, he tells us "two persons" as if we didn't know it. It automatically assigned us a tiny space for two where we couldn't take off our coats because it was 0°. For the value of the prices we thought that everything would be very good. I ordered a red cake thinking it would be heavenly. I was very wrong. The base was dried powder that was and tasted like ice cream. The Chai latte only tasted like milk diluted with water and the chai only had a hint of ginger. My husband ordered a carrot cake. Worse. Poor. The music is for teens and the furniture is tremendous. White lacquered chairs and others made of transparent plastic. The worst is at the end. The price €22 and without stomach protector.

Fantastic old brown café next to the bustling Museumplein, but a coming together of old and new, where you can go back in time, but time never stands still. Delicious beers and always busy and fun.

Small place visited on Christmas Eve. Crazy decorated!!! Good choice of liqueurs, including an excellent homemade geniper. Small but welcoming environment, a nice experience, normal prices. Worth a visit

It is almost impressive how this beautiful café has managed to arrange such disinterested, sometimes even arrogant bar staff for decades. And yet, despite this, in my opinion, cultivated shortcoming, I quite enjoy coming there.

A nice brown bar in oud zuid, one of the remaining few in oud zuid. That's what makes it special. It has a cosy vibe but can get quite crowded during peak hours and weekends. If doesn't have a lot of options in terms of food, especially vegetarian - that's why I have given 4 it stars. For me, it would be 5 stars of it had more vegetarian food options.

This kind of cafe is why Amsterdam is my favourite city. The bartender was excellent and the beer was fantastic. It is also reasonably priced. Hope to vist again next year!

Incredible neighborhood bar with great bartenders and a fun vibe. Great local beer selection, however don't expect any mixed drinks here. This is a very great place to have a pint and enjoy the conversation. Limited menu is available focused on bar snacks and bites. A great local experience in an Amsterdam local pub. They do have live jazz on Sunday afternoons about once a month.

Extremely cozy and local atmosphere in a traditional Dutch brown cafe. Older cheerful crowd. Drop by for a quick juniper shot or to explore retro paintings on the walls.

Very Traditional brown cafe (pub) full of locals with a bit of an older crowd. Lots of character.

Ik heb hier geschuild voor de regen, en dat was heel effectief. Reden: het was er droog en gezellig. Ik kom wel weer een keertje terug.

Enorm gezellige kroeg en ongelooflijk leuke mensen ontmoet. Personeel is allervriendelijkst. Kom zeker terug, ook al woon ik niet in Amsterdam.

Met de gelagkamer van Vd Werff op Schiermonnikoog is dit het beste cafe ooit. Geen muziek. Dat for a start. En de sfeer en ambiance enz.!! Al 35 jaar kom ik er met groot genoegen.

The place to be! Zeker in december als de zaak bomvol kerstversiering hangt. Verscholen achter het Concertgebouw en het thuis van veel buurtbewoners heeft deze gastvrije locatie altijd een bijzondere sfeer. Het lange bestaan bewijst dat Café Welling zich steeds aanpast. Zo is er inmiddels ook een uitgebreide collectie speciaalbier om uit te kiezen.

Blik achter of pal op de rug van het Concertgebouw. Bezoek Welling wellicht niét na een uitvoering, dan is het net een ondersteboven gekeerd circus.
