Caffee Oslo in Hoofddorppleinbuurt

We always enjoyed coming to Oslo. From today on, we'll never go back for dinner. It's Wednesday, and along with two other tables, we were the only ones there from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The service was pleasant and attentive, and we had a pleasant evening, but the snacks and dinner were a bit of a letdown. The appetizers (12 pieces at €15.00 each) were lukewarm and limp. The appetizer was forgotten (and we canceled it), and the bavette dish was downright awful. My table companion reluctantly gnawed through his overcooked bavette—ordered "medium-rare." I sent back my main course, ordered "medium." The meat was utterly tough and tasteless. Ten minutes later, the dish was served slightly better, but still tough and lacking in flavor. The fried potatoes were limp and lukewarm, and the grilled vegetables were probably overcooked. Along with a few beers, wine, and some coffee, we paid €150.00 (!) But it was still a fun time!

What a fantastic atmosphere! Order the flat white martini. So delicious! The new owner is fantastic. I can't wait to see what she has planned!

Really friendly and helpful staff, the steak sandwich was the best thing I ate in Amsterdam and to top it off the pub has the friendliest pub cat I've ever met!

I quickly grabbed a bite to eat here. The service was excellent. The food was also good. However, there was hardly anyone else there on a Thursday evening, which didn't exactly improve the atmosphere, and the staff seemed bored.

Bar staff said my payment card required an additional charge. I've used this card in 1000s of places all over the world and never had any trouble. I declined and paid in cash!

This is one of those places that you will be happy if you go, but wouldn’t cross the city to go to. The food is good, the place is good, and the service is good. Nothing is outstanding, but nothing fails! Great place for beer near the canals, or just staying inside during winter nights. Last time we went there was the cutest cat ever roaming around - so if you are allergic or do not like cats: maybe not for you? Overall: if you are passing by and want some good food, you can go there with no hesitation.

Oslo Beers offers pleasant premises with a good atmosphere, perfect for a break with something good in a glass. The service was very good, and the staff at the bar made the experience extra pleasant. The beer selection is nice and varied, but could have liked to have a few more varieties on tap to make it even more exciting. All in all, a pleasant place to have a beer in Amsterdam, with a relaxed atmosphere and good service.

It used to be a nice bar with a relaxed vibe, good food and beer, perfect to have some beers and hang out with friends… Now it has become a posh and expensive place, but unfortunately the food and the service are not compatible with the high prices. The food is not bad, but you’d expect more for the price you pay. Portions are quite small. The waiters were always nice to us, but they were clearly confused with the new menu and made a some mistakes.

It used to be better when you could still sit inside and outside. It's lost some of its charm. The coffee and matcha are still delicious!

Unfortunately, the online menu is completely different from what you get in person, which is a shame. The food was still delicious.

Top restaurant, very nice service this evening (20/08)

We first stopped by just for a beer, but the great service won us over. We came back the next day for a proper dinner – it was absolutely delicious, the beer was great, and the service was top-notch once again.

Oslo Beers, the best lunch café in my neighbourhood. I used to go there with business relations, but certainly also with daughters, friends. The terrace was still wonderfully quiet, the sun was shining, company pleasant, service friendly and patient. The sandwich was super tasty (Avocado) Hadn't been there for a while, but Oslo Beers is still top.

The food was great! Tasty burgers and the other dishes were also very tasty. We were with a large group (30) and half of the group had already finished eating before the second half was served, so the wait was less fun. But all in all a very good experience.

Terrible Service – Would Not Recommend If I could give zero stars, I would. The service at Oslo Beers is absolutely terrible. The first time we went, we weren't even acknowledged when we arrived. After waiting for a while, we got up to grab menus ourselves, and only then did the waitress come over—not to take our order, but to snatch the menus from our hands, saying they were the wrong ones. I then asked for the lunch menu, and she handed us the exact same menus. So unnecessarily rude. It didn’t get any better from there. The staff ignored us for ages before finally coming to take our order, and when they did, it took over an hour for the food to arrive. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, so there was absolutely no excuse. We would have never gone back, but our friends wanted to meet there, so we gave it another shot. Big mistake. The same awful service all over again. After 1.5 hours, our food still hadn’t arrived, and when our friend asked about it, we found out that they hadn’t even started preparing our order. Unbelievable. The place was practically empty except for a few people on the terrace, so why such ridiculous delays? The service is beyond unacceptable, and the food is nothing special—easily found elsewhere with much better service. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

We visited here on our first night in Amsterdam. We just flown into the country about 2 hours, if not less, before we visited Oslo Beers. We ordered the Mushroom Burger and the No Chicken burger. It was absolutely amazing. I honestly need the recipe for the mushroom burger as it's been stuck in my head since having it! The lady that served us was so lovely and when we ordered the Mort Subite for myself, she helped us pronounce it properly because we weren't too sure haha! I'd highly recommend going here if you're in the area. I'd also suggest looking at NeoTaste for the 2-4-1 burger which makes things a little easier!

Almost all the tables around us were empty, there were only two other guests. We had to call the staff every time to order something or even to see the menu. It seemed like he didn't feel like doing his job at all. The starters were tasty. The main course was relatively expensive, for that amount of money, for example, fries could have been added. But unfortunately, we had to pay extra (4.50 I think) for that. The main course came with some kind of sour vegetables. A little was nice, but this was too much, too sour. The food itself was tasty, but relatively expensive, and the staff was very interested. In addition, the tap for washing your hands after using the toilet was set very strangely, so that the water quickly ended up on your clothes as soon as you put your hand under the tap. There was a sweet cat present, who came to give and ask for some attention. The menu that can be seen here on Google is not the current menu.

Delicious beers and food for normal prices

The focaccia with chorizo was 10/10, smash burger also very good! Theres good music playing and the waitress was very sweet! Recommend!

Nice atmosphere, good fish options

Horrible service and a bit dirty…. Here on a Sunday afternoon sitting at the bar. Trash and even a glass (?) on the floor. Hardly a greeting from the staff. I felt like an after-thought once I sat down as well despite being the only person at the bar and only feet from two staff members behind it. Had to ask for a menu and flag them down to order every beer and my food despite an empty glass in front of me. I ordered the salmon sandwich (actually quite good) with a side of fries. Fries never showed up, so I asked the woman who took my order. She forgot them, but rather than admitting it and putting the order in, she made it seem like I never ordered them in the first place because they and I quote, “Are not in the system”. So, whose fault is that? I have no access to your POS system, you just forgot. Not a big deal to forget. We’re all human! But to not take accountability (intentionally or not) for a small mistake is just bad service and makes the customer feel unwelcome. Will never come back and will not recommend. Staff needs training.

Great Brunch address in Amsterdam! With a friend we had pancakes which were exceptional and we shared the breakfast board. All products are qualitative and very good. The place is very warm with a very friendly team! I recommend this restaurant 😁 We will come back to try the burgers and sweet potato fries! Visited in April 2024.

Super friendly staff, always! The interior is nice, cosy, welcoming and the overall atmosphere is perfect. The revealing of the burgers is quite special... Love this place since years and years!

It is a very nice place, with great burgers, we went at 4 in the afternoon to eat and there was no problem, I recommend it.

The menu specializes in hamburgers, it was good (I'm not a fan of hamburgers), but if you like it, I have to say that the meat was good and the bread too. The atmosphere is great. And for beer lovers there is also something to choose from.

This is one of my favourite spots in Amsterdam to grab a beer and a bite. The servers are consistently friendly and helpful. The beer options are typically enough for even the astute beerologist, the Brother's In Law Australian Pale Ale is always good 🍺 but there are enough other styles to satisfy most tastes. The food was delicious and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I'll never turn down a chance to spend some time here.

The waitresses were great! Very nice and thoughtful! A vegan dish was not available, but the chef had very sweetly converted a vegetarian dish into a vegan dish. Everyone from the restaurant was very helpful and the food was great!

The smallest cappuccino ever. Stopped by for an early lunch, but I changed my mind when I realised they forgot our coffees sitting somewhere. When they brought them to us, the froth of the milk had already vanished. The place was pretty empty, so no justification, really...

We reserved a table for 11 people. First of all the table was 5 small round tables pushed together so it felt very disjointed for our group. It took 30mins+ to place our order and 1hr30mins to get our food, which was cold, mediocre and dishes were forgotten. Overall it was a terrible meal for our group.

Had a lovely dinner at Caffè Oslo. The menu has gone up a bit, but the quality and atmosphere make it worth it. The location near the river and close to the center is perfect for a post-dinner stroll in Vondelpark!

The burgers were ok but the Cesar's salad was a disgrace (16€) and both were overpriced. The prices are for a 0.2l drink!

The spareribs had too much sauce which was very overwhelming. The meat quality of the chicken and beef burgers were good, but the rest of the ingredients were medium. All in all decent restaurant tho. Our child got a lolli at the end.

Oslo Beers is a great place to meet friends - you can find the perfect balance of comfort, good prices and good service. Neon lights and subdued warm light create an enveloping cosiness in the evening, so this place is also suitable for a date. The menu has everything you need including meats, starters, grilled vegetables and something sweet. The bar menu is simple and sufficient. The location is convenient too - you can eat before or after walking around Vondelpark. We'll definitely be back to try something new!

The experience was really nice. I came in with a friend who was visiting Amsterdam for the first time. The team was very friendly and the food was in good portions and very good taste.

Just rested during King's Day. There were gluten-free rolls which was nice, but few other options. Furthermore, a nice location with top music.

We chose the restaurant based on a review on Google, unfortunately they probably didn't have their day. The staff ran around confused. No one responded to the empty glasses, it was necessary to summon them. We waited a long time for our food and the wait was not worth it. My angus burger was overdone, hard and dry and almost cold. The only positive was the selection of draft beers.

We've been here many times during lunch and dinner and usually it is fine, but today there was a mishap that I want to give feedback on. The server didn't get half of our order (maybe because they didn't write it down, maybe because they didn't hear us well over the music and crowd) but we waited for close to 30 mins and finished what we thought was the first half of the order before they came to ask for clarification. In the end, we had to put in a new order and wait for the rest of the food to come. I think it would be better if the orders were written down and confirmed for the future! Otherwise, the restaurant has a good vibe and food.

Super nice cozy spot along the water. You can sit super comfortable both inside and outside. Our waitress Lisa was incredibly thoughtful of us and deserves all the praise!

Food was less than mediocre, flavorless. The burger definitely did not look like the pictures on Google. Boring bun. But the staff was even worse. They did not notice us and cleaned empty tables first, We had to ask twice if they can take the glasses from the previous guests. We will not come back here unfortunately

Normally when you step in a restaurant they greet you and you are made feel welcome, but not at this place. We made a reservation at 18:30 and came before time. Upon giving name and amount of people, we were snubbed and talked down to. Apparently the waiter was expecting us at 16:00 and are already gave our table away. He had his booking system open, which showed that we indeed booked at 18:30. We showed him that and our confirmation email, but he kept on being rude and even accused us of changing the booking (?). After a lot of “whatever”, rolling eyes and sighing from him, he showed us to the back part of the restaurant which was half empty. He never apologized for his rude and unprofessional behavior though. After waiting for a while, the lady behind the bar saw that nobody was helping us and send a different waitress to our table. She was quite friendly, but the service was a bit too slow. It was a busy Friday evening after all. Food was okay, only downside was that the corn and grilled vegetables was cold as ice. We won’t come back to this place and that’s due to the first waiter. We go out for a nice evening, not for being treated like trash. This place is a perfect example how hiring incompetent and unprofessional staff can ruin a business. Such a shame for a nice looking place.

Delicious Chicken Burger with fries. We were hungry so everything was gone! Relaxed atmosphere, the house cat regularly came to cuddle and it was not busy. Nice tent on the corner of the Overtoom!

Service was inattentive at best, with long waits and wrong orders. The food was a disaster - greasy, mystery-meat burgers and limp fries. The whole place lacked atmosphere, with bad music and uncomfortable seating. Save your money and your tastebuds!

Made a reservation on February 22 for next Sunday (March 17) and I was informed by email that my reservation was canceled by the restaurant due to a company outing. Very rude and not a customer friendly way of handling reservations. So wouldn't recommend it.

There were two of us there. We were able to communicate well with English. Food was very good. Had the beef burger and the grispy chicken burger with sweet potatoes. Staff was nice, flitting back and forth, which caused the attention to suffer a bit. But if you noticed - very nice service.
