The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic! Only the promised two free drinks upon arrival (we had to wait a bit for a table due to the crowd) were added to the bill. That was a bit of a disappointment... Update: We returned, and as promised, everything was completely made up for, and the experience was perfect again! HIGHLY recommended if you want good food and excellent service at your table. Definitely worth 10 stars.

We went here on a Friday evening without a reservation. The room we were in was really small for the number of people in it, and the lighting was too low and dim for the number of people it accommodated (if they'd been seating couples and the tables were further apart, I could understand the dim, dim lighting). The waiters were polite and friendly. The food didn't particularly impress me; the tartare I ordered was completely covered in the sauce they used to prepare it, preventing me from savoring the true flavor of the meat. Furthermore, the color wasn't particularly convincing; it should have been completely pink (a sign of freshness), but in places it was darker (as if it had been left unused for longer than expected). I didn't touch the garlic bread at all, so as not to further ruin my palate. In short, a tartare fit for Count Dracula, yes, but clearly not for a girl. I had ordered a side dish, but when I tasted it, it was more like a dessert, and I'm talking about the grilled corn with vanilla butter (too sweet for a side dish). Finally, I tried the sandwich, but again, I wasn't impressed; the meat was overcooked and the bread wasn't very soft. A pretty good flavor combination for those with that preference. I wouldn't go back, especially for the price. It's not worth it.

One of the best meat restaurants in Amsterdam. Had burgers, entrecôte and spicy chicken wings. All excellent in tast. A little messy serving with not all of the food being served at the same time. Will definitely come back!

I've been coming here every time since 2015 (I usually go to the one next to Dampkring), and I noticed this place this year. We've been stopping by for two days now. I've tried almost everything on the menu. It's truly a place deserving of every accolade.

WOW!! Every time we eat here, the atmosphere is fantastic. We receive excellent service. The beer and wine recommendations are excellent. The food is very good. It's not a vegetarian restaurant, but there are some options. The food is super tender, tasty, and looks great. Reserving in advance is recommended.

Arrived early enough to get a seat at the bar before it got packed. Staff was very friendly. I got the cauliflower wings and 100g of the pork belly. Everything was cooked perfectly. The cauliflower breading was crisp while still tender inside. The porkbelly had great sear marks and the fat was crisp but juicy. Also had a lychee cocktail which was very nicely balanced.

The food is truly fantastic. The spareribs fall off the bone and aren't too sweet. They have a wonderful char that makes them slightly bitter, and the sweet glaze is truly delicious. Delicious fries and corn on the cob. It was very busy, but we were still able to get a table a little later. The service was very friendly; they could have been a little more attentive at times at the beginning, but otherwise, nothing to complain about!

We booked for two, and we weren't disappointed! The food was excellent, as were the sides. The sauces were very good; you could tell the ingredients were high quality. Even the Dame Blanche (vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce) was generous. I'm giving it 4 stars because the tables are close together, which makes it a little less private.

We went without a reservation, and we were really lucky that they managed to find us a table. You should definitely make a reservation. The food is amazing — we’ll definitely visit again!

The interior is quite dark, a pub-like atmosphere. But don't let that deter you. The hamburger is legendary, and it pairs perfectly with a Cannibal Royale beer. We also ordered ribs, which were incredibly delicious. With fries, we paid around 60 euros. The rib portion was quite filling.

The only place where you can find A5 quality Wagyu meat. Be sure to visit this place to experience unforgettable Japanese-quality Wagyu meat.

I went there twice during my stay in Amsterdam. The first time, the service was good and the steak was delicious, so I thought it must be a good restaurant. My flight was canceled, so I stayed an extra day and tried again, but the staff had completely changed since my first visit, and the service wasn't so great. The first time, the dishes were brought one by one as they were ready, allowing me to enjoy my meal at my leisure. The second time, however, they brought all the dishes at once, asked "Are you done?" when it was clear I wasn't finished, and then they forcefully took the dishes away, which left me feeling uneasy. Because the service varies depending on the staff, I can't really recommend this place. The second time, I ordered my steak medium, but it was cooked to about well-done, so the flavor wasn't great. However, the medium LE MODESTE (250GR) I had the first time was very delicious, and the oven-baked Camembert, LE CAMEMBERT DIABOLIQUE, was also excellent! It was the best steak I've had recently! The chicken wings are legendary. The classic burger is good. The moderate steak is acceptable, but the medium rare is best. They also have an amazing short rib sandwich that's not too heavy—you absolutely have to try it (one isn't enough). Just tell them not to add too much mustard, or not to add it at all. Overall, the restaurant is very nice and you must try it.

Too noisy, but the food was very good. The waitress was super attentive. The tables were too close together, and the people were very drunk and loud. Otherwise, everything was perfect. The ribs were very good, the nachos too, and the garlic bread as well!

Amazing steaks, cool location and friendly waiters!!

The waiter was very pushy and arrogant, tried to take our plates away.. while we were eating, trying to get us out for the next reservation. Unnessessary because we had another 40 min from our 90 min reservation left. Then he tried to charge us a much higher amount than on the bill he gave us. Please double check before paying with card, he was very fast, good that it was too fast for the card device. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've been to Cannibale Royale before – both here in Amsterdam and in Rotterdam – and I was absolutely impressed again this time. The atmosphere is fantastic: cozy, cool ambiance, and a menu that simply whets your appetite. Our appetizers, the Camembert and garlic bread, were truly outstanding – perfectly balanced in flavor and prepared to a very high standard. For my main course, I had the beef ribs with mac & cheese – simply divine! You immediately notice that the food here is cooked with very high quality and attention to detail. The service was also super friendly and attentive – exactly what you'd expect. To finish off, we had the homemade cheesecake, which was truly fabulous. Price-performance ratio: absolutely fair for the quality offered. All in all, one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam when it comes to meat and soul food. Unreserved recommendation! 🔥🍖🇳🇱

Good food if and great service. Music was a little loud and if you struggle with eating in the dark maybe ask for the best lit area as we were at the back which is quite dark.

We visited Cannibale Royale in Amsterdam for the first time with a group of five colleagues. At first, there were no seats available inside, which was a bit disappointing — but our amazing waiter Ivo worked his magic and found us a cozy table within minutes! The food was outstanding — perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. One of our colleagues, who’s very picky about steaks, said it was one of the best he’s ever had. I went around 3 p.m. It was quite quiet inside. I regret not choosing it for dinner. The La Modeste Steak I chose from the menu was excellent. The sauce and Cannibale Blonde beer truly left a lasting impression.

I don’t know the employee’s name, but he looked Arab or Moroccan with curly hair. He didn’t welcome me properly and didn’t let me sit at the table I wanted, even though the restaurant was empty at noon. He told me to sit at the bar, but I came to eat, not to drink! I ended up leaving and going to another restaurant afterward.

Its rare to say that a burger joint exceeds all expectations, but this one is it. By far the best burger ive had in a LONG time. Very few even come close to comparing. Tho the atmosphere feels a bit somber and a bit dark, its very fitting for the entire restaurant's atmospehere. Hats off to the team behind Cannibal Royale.

I ordered a chicken burger and garlic bread as a starter. It was so delicious. I didn’t wait long either to get my order. However, only negative things is that inside is so warm.

I don't leave reviews often, but I feel like this place really deserves it. The ribeye was amazing, really well cooked! All of the staff members were very nice (and quick) as well. Had no expectations going here, but I'm definitely going back! And something worth noting... the knifes were incredibly sharp, as they should for a steak :)

A friend recommended this place and it did not disappoint. The hotel is near here so I’ve eaten here a couple times. I would definitely recommend a steak. Mine was perfect. Their Pale Ale on draft is currently the 2 Chefs Brewery, Funky Falcon, it is also delicious.

Soooooo goood, i always go for the steak and its always amazing! I appreciate alot that it comes with a garlic sauce and also the pickled onions. It is such a nice combo. As a side i always have the fries which are also always great! All in all everytime i come to Amsterdam a must visit. My fav restaurant by a long shot! Also service people are so nice and attentive.

Reliable spot for good food in the touristy center of Amsterdam. Open later than most restaurants, usually can go as walk-ins. My go-to spot when in need of late evening food in this area.

We came to eat at this restaurant at 16:18. We were told that the kitchen was closed. Disappointing.

At first didn't think much of it because it was in the city center and I thought this was just an average touristy restaurant trap. Boy oh boy was I wrong. Really cool interior, service was 5/5 and food was excellent. We had a lot of meat cuts but the T-Bone steak was extraordinary.

EVERYTHING WAS BRUTAL. I've been there three times in six days. They change the menu after 4 p.m. I recommend the cannibal sandwich at lunchtime, and the cannibal ribs in the evening.

The tasting platter for 2 was pretty good but very greasy. The camembert melted cheese dip was delicious. The corn was super greasy and the garlic broccoli was okay. The high bar stools are the most uncomfortable stools I have ever sat on which would have been fine if the service was a little faster but we were waiting for food for a long time. At the end we just ended up standing while eating.

The waiters are nice, we took a meat plate for two, it is very tasty, definitely take it, the onions and cucumbers are divine. The beer is delicious In the end, the meat plate and 2 beers cost 70 euros

Good value for your money considering the location. The food was very decent and the staff attentive and delightful. I ordered my steak to be cooked rare and it arrived medium-well. When our attending waitress saw that I looked a bit irritated at the meat she rushed over and said: 'That's not rare, let's get you a new one!' even the chef showed up later and apologized. I didn't even have to say a word and I am so glad that I hadn't to, because it feels so bad to sent food back. In the end, sometimes food has to be thrown away because it's spoiled. It's unfortunate, but it happens in every kitchen. I liked my new steak a lot, the vegetarian burger was also good. Be aware that the Mac'n'cheese comes with some kick, which I liked a lot, but some people might be irritated by having a usually very unspicy dish to be hot. I had a Pornstar Martini that tasted a bit unbalanced and was very, very sweet. I switched to beer after that and the taste and selection of those were great. Our overall experience was very good and I'd be back in a heartbeat when I am in the neighborhood. The cannibale Royale is a hidden gem that's definitely worth a visit.

It is the best restaurant for steaks and ribs in Amsterdam. I had the beef short rib with a side of fries. It is one of the best ribs I have ever had. Also, the fries are the best fries I’ve had in Amsterdam. They were thin, crispy, and fresh. The service was very good and quick, and the restaurant’s location is great. To be honest, even the price is great for a steakhouse. I highly recommend it, and I’ll visit it again in my next trip to Amsterdam.

Coming from Argentina, we have high standards when it comes to eating good meat, and Cannibale Royale surprised us very well. The steak was cooked exactly as we had ordered. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The first night we didn't have a reservation, and they let us sit at a table. For the following days, we booked directly there. I would definitely return.

I'm very disappointed. I ordered mac and cheese and couldn't eat it because it was super spicy! So I barely ate anything, and the waitress didn't seem to care... Aside from that, the ribs were delicious, and the fries were good too.
