Unfortunately, the sandwich I ordered was lukewarm. The staff reacted just as lukewarm. Oh, that's a shame.

We moesten wel even wachten maar het eten was erg goed. De omgeving is ook erg mooi en er was bij aankomst meteen een tafel gereed.

Het duurde vrij lang voordat we na de eerste drankjes de menu kaart kregen, ook het voorgerecht liet even op zich wachten (19.00 na reservering 17.30) Maar vanaf dat moment liep het prima, aardig personeel en heerlijk gegeten. We komen vast nog eens terug.!

Went to Captain Jack for the first time last weekend. Delicious lunch, good price-quality ratio and an absolutely cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff and even with a problem afterwards, they were helped by email. And received a response on a day when they are actually closed. In short, top service. I can recommend this opportunity! Next visit I also want to try dinner at Captain Jack.

Wat een sfeertje binnen, dat in combinatie met super vrolijke, nette en vlotte mensen in de bediening hebben er voor gezorgd dat we een fijne avond hebben gehad. Het was volle bak, maar dat had geen invloed op hoe de service en het eten was. Beide een super lekker stoofpotje gegeten, broodje met smeersels vooraf, biertje er naast (die ook vlot omgeruild werd voor een vol flesje zodra hij leeg was ;) ) en een heerlijke en leuk opgemaakt crème brulee na. We komen hier uiteraard graag terug

Pleasant and friendly staff, we were there for a team day, when the heater was turned up a little it was a great day.

Nice place and concept. First we played old Dutch games and then a simple buffet which was very tasty. Dessert buffet afterwards which was also good.

A private party with a 5-course dinner. Well organised, delicious food and good service.

Wij werden vanaf de reservering heel vriendelijk te woord gestaan en ik voelde mij welkom. Een vrolijke en aardige gastvrouw. Ik had gekozen voor een brunch om mijn verjaardag te vieren met familie die uit het westen moest komen. Mijn nichtje heeft heerlijk glutenvrij gegeten waar speciale aandacht aan was geschonken. Er was erg veel keus ook voor de vegetarische gasten en het buffet zag er heel erg lekker en feestelijk uit. Ik had gevraagd of wij een beetje apart konden zitten en dat was perfect geregeld. De bediening deed het erg goed en was attent en vriendelijk. Ik heb een geweldige verjaardag gehad en wij hebben heerlijk gegegeten.

We made a coffee stop here during a club tour with vintage cars. The coffee was excellent (14 opinions out of 17) and, according to one of us, a catering wholesaler, typically THE taste of frozen coffee paste. A shame because the location is beautifully situated and the icing on the cake was that the waitress admitted that she received more complaints about this brew. We decided not to take a chance on the quality of the lunch and went for lunch elsewhere.

Last Sunday we enjoyed lunch on the terrace in the autumn sun. Food was tasty, unfortunately the terrace was self-service despite the nice weather. My son enjoyed the sandbox on the terrace and had to shake it out thoroughly before we got back into the car.

Friendly service, but even though it was quiet we had to wait a long time. A few years later: another delicious meal. It's self-service now. Went fairly smoothly.

A great place to eat out! We think it's a well-known location in the area, but it was our first time there! The menu is modest, but oh well... that prevents choice stress, so to speak! Smooth and friendly service! The black angus steak was cooked well, as we indicated. Fortunately, we had a spot on the spacious terrace under a parasol, next to a robust chestnut tree. Fortunately, that parasol also prevented the wild chestnuts from falling on our heads!

Had a delicious local lunch. Add nice cold buttermilk. Great for each other.

We loved it again, just like other 2 times. The only thing is 3 service for 1 table. 1 brings drinks, 1 other brings food and much later, the cutlery. I had already asked for cutlery and the food person said it would be brought to me shortly... 5 minutes later than dinner and all 3 questions; everything as desired etc. Could be more efficient... But otherwise great again

The restaurant was actually already closed, but we were still allowed to join! We had a delicious meal. The family received us very kindly and told all the stories about the origins of the Restaurant. We were the only ones in a super cozy atmosphere and good music.

Captain Jack is a nice place where you can sit not only inside, but also outside. The location on the Buurserbeek is a real plus. Whether you want to sit in the sun or prefer some shade, you can do both here. The menu may not be very extensive, but it is... The dishes on it are all complete meals. Something for everyone, and you know you're in the right place when you join us here. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a relaxing place with good food!

Tijdens de fietsvierdaagse van Enschede was hier een controlepost en omdat we toch moesten afstappen hebben we gelijk maar even wat gedronken en dat was prima in orde. De drankjes waren prima gekoeld en de bediening was vriendelijk.

Prachtige locatie, naast een riviertje. Leuke plek om te zitten. Kleine maar doeltreffende kaart. Voor iedereen iets te eten. Lekkere gekruide gerechten. Als voorgerecht hadden we een courgette soep die erg lekker op smaak gebracht was, een aanrader. Verder een goed gevulde groente burrito en een sate ven de haas. Beide erg leuk opgediend en zeer smakelijk

Due to a lack of staff, there is a takeaway counter. I understand, but not pleasant. Not a menu on every table. Delicious toast. Also good parking behind. Also for engines. Place tray in a cart. Also unpleasant. Hope things will be different again!

The catering staff shortage is clearly noticeable at Captain Jack. We were 3 people, 1 of whom had difficulty walking. It had been raining and the tables were all wet, so I asked for a cloth. I was given a stack of napkins. Well, it would have been a bit of service if you as an employee had said (were chatting with each other, were not busy with or for other guests); I'll come over and clean the table. Then I walked back to the counter and asked for a card, because there was a terrace, so self-service. And that's fine if there is a shortage of staff, but surely a card can be placed on the table with a message 'please order at the counter'? Received a response: we don't have a terrace. So I got back what the other 2 wanted. One wanted an ice cream and the other wanted coffee with apple pie, together with another cappuccino and apple pie, that was our order. The order was delivered, without ice. In the end, we had almost finished our coffee and pastries, when the ice cream finally arrived (after speaking to an employee). I just forgot, no excuse or anything that the ice cream arrived so late. Just be honest, that will give you much more understanding than quietly putting down an ice cream and walking away. The girls behind the terrace counter were also not that friendly, very short, disinterested and busy chatting with each other about their 'interesting' topics. This while I was waiting at the counter and at one point I was told: just sit down, my order will be delivered shortly and this was done in a rather snarky manner. This way they could chat about this and that in peace and quiet without me hearing any stories. Very unpleasant. I've heard many good things about Captain Jack, but having had an experience like this myself makes me think it was a one-off visit.

Team building afternoon. Well cared for and well thought out. By working in compartments on the terrace, you have your "own" area. BBQ from the O-fyre, absolutely great!

Zaterdagmiddag met mijn echtgenoot geweest en het viel ons helaas erg tegen. Het was zelfbediening tegen een flinke prijs. Naast ons was een feest en kennelijk vond de eigenaar dit belangrijker dan de reguliere gasten. Kwamen hier graag, maar dit was de laatste keer. En personeelstekort en een punt voor even een tussenstop is geen excuus. Dit schreven zij namelijk naar mijn echtgenoot gezien zijn slechte review. Hij was ook niet de enige die slechte ervaringen had op de website. Dan moet je de tent voor betalende gasten gewoon sluiten.

Café restaurant with takeaway counter for the terrace. No menu or drinks menu. Despite the fact that you have to serve yourself, the prices are as if you had service. Is not true. The atmosphere of what it once was is gone. It has now become a kind of McDonalds.

We had a delicious meal and we were served very politely.

A real shame for such a beautiful location. Self-service (in itself strange for such a small business), a virtually non-existent menu unless you want ham, cheese or croquettes on bread at exorbitant prices. Everything feels like a snack bar next to a swimming pool. But they usually have more choice in terms of food. It just doesn't smell like chlorine. More like the 200 tractors that drive by every hour. Captain Jack from that 90's song is turning in his grave.

We came quite late for a drink on the terrace on a beautiful summer evening. Even though we arrived close to closing time, no effort was too great. Enjoyed a drink with something tasty. Thank you!

Op de terugweg van de bioscoop met een kinderfeestje hier op het terras patat (met snack) gegeten. Alles was tot in de puntjes verzorgd met een verrassing na. Wij komen zeker terug!

Nice place to stop during a walk or bike ride. Had a drink here on the terrace. Didn't eat anything, but I think that's fine here too.

April 2024 This catering facility is located along a main road, next to the stream. You look out onto the terrace from the road. It's a shame that a natural separation has not been created. Spots on the terrace overlooking the stream are nice. The terrace is self-service. At least... that is indicated everywhere and there are overcrowded, impractical carts where you can place a tray. Some guests are served at the table. But the vast majority receive a beeper. Upon arrival there is a full ashtray on the table. Which is still there when we leave. The nachos were very dark, almost burnt, when I pick them up at the counter.

It was fun, friendly and the food was great and a big thank you to the top staff

We found this restaurant with a beautiful outside seating area right at the canal "Buurser Beek" by accident on a bike ride. The location is beautiful, service is good and the meals are better than average. We had just coffee and cakes but some other guests we spoke to recommended having lunch or dinner there, too.

Leuk restaurant maar er is waarschijnlijk personeelsgebrek waardoor het allemaal wat amateuristisch lijkt. Eten was goed voor een goede prijs. Met goed personeel en wat meer aandacht voor de details zo het best leuk kunnen zijn. Update: Vandaag geweest i.v.m. familiefeestje nu was de bediening top en professioneel. En ook het buffet was prima. Dus eerste deel van tekst is een beetje achterhaald voor dit moment

Leuke locatie voor een familiedag met BBQ en leuke Oud Hollandse spelletjes! Vlotte vriendelijke bediening en goede kwaliteit van eten. Een nadeel vond ik wel dat de grote ronde BBQ van staal, waarbij het vlees op een brede rand word gelegd, hout gestookt is, niet echt meer van deze tijd! Tevens hing in al onze kleren een gore brandlucht.

Ook al woon ik in de buurt, nooit eerder geweest. Mooie plek en uitvalbasis na het wandelen!

Op aanraden van andere campinggasten in Enschede, bij Captain Jack gaan eten. Gereserveerd voor 2 pers. Voorgerecht duurde 40 min.(pers.problematiek) maar daarna ging het vlotter. Personeel erg vriendelijk en vlot.Hoofdgerechten runderstoofpotje en kipwokpotje heerlijk, uitstekend en ruim voldoende, ook de bijgerechten zoals frietjes, wedges e.d. Nagerecht ook heel erg goed. Al met al ruim 2 uur getafeld.Echt een aanrader!!

Zaterdagmiddag aan het eind van de middag was er niet veel meer te doen, de bediening was traag ( ook vreemd bij zelfbediening) en onervaren. Ondanks alles is de ligging natuurlijk prachtig en kun je er heerlijk zitten.

Vind het normaal altijd fijn om erheen te gaan, maar door de drukte en te kort aan personeel merk ik dat hun vriendelijkheid minder wordt en laten ze jou gerust een uur wachten ook al had je gereserveerd.

Tijdens wielrennen lekker appelgebakje gegeten. Ondanks dat er maar 1 medewerker was werdenwerden we toch goed geholpen.

Het 3 gangen diner was heel smaakvol en keurig opgediend. Het personeel is vriendelijk en bedient goed en snel. Jammer dat wij zover weg wonen anders kwamen we hier vaker! Tip: ga het gewoon proberen en genieten.

Het was een prettig verblijf. Prima service. Vriendelijk en betrokken. Heerlijk gegeten. Compliment voor de kok! Zalm en stoofpotje smaakten heerlijk! Lekker gezeten op het terras.

Wij waren in Buurse aan het wandelen en wilden graag wat drinken. Toen wij bij Captain Jack kwamen bleken ze gesloten en alleen open voor een gezelschap. Toch konden wij wat drinken. Super vriendelijk en bedankt voor de service.

Heerlijke cappuccino met een kruidkoek gehad. Fijn terras met veel zitjes met uitzicht op de naast gelegen Buurserbeek. Vriendelijk en gastvrij personeel.

Het was prima,ik had twee kroketten met bruin brood. En een alcoholvrij biertje. De prijs was redelijk dus iedereen blij.

Gezellig leuke sfeer alleen ben niet gewend dat je zelf moet op staan om te betalen bij een deur in rij staan 2 voor ons.

Hele leuke lokatie...deze zondag met 27 pers een BBQ gehad, was heel goed, lekker vlees en een hele gemoedelijke lokatie Volgend jaar gaan we weer onze verjaardagen / ik 24 juni mij man 25 juni vieren Is heel goed bevallen Thanks !

Aanrader! Fijn restaurant met mooi gelegen terras aan de beek, goed en betaalbaar eten en geweldige bediening! Horeca zoals het overal zou moeten zijn. Het past in de huidige tijd dat je som iets langer moet wachten, maar op deze mooie locatie is dat geen straf. Voor kleine kinderen is er een leuke speelplek.

We hebben hier ons werkuitje mogen vieren. En chapo voor de gastvrouw een leuke en geduldige vrouw was dat. Met een grote groep ongeregelden zo rustig blijfen. Petje af Wat een gezellige locatie. Alles was top geregeld. En de bijzondere bbq was helemaal goed. Eten was meer dan genoeg! Een aanrader!

Heerlijk eten en geweldige bediening! Echt zoals het 'hoort'! Dat kom je niet vaak meer tegen. Soms moet je wel wat langer wachten op je eten.

Lang gewacht tot een iemand kwam om ons een ijsje te verkopen. Uiteindelijk een prima ijsje gehad.

Vandaag heerlijk gegeten bij captain Jack onverwachts we kwamen langs op de fiets de zon scheen en we dachten wat een leuk terras. Eerst wat gedronken en daarna gegeten. Super biefstuk en een flinke zalmfilet voor mijn vrouw. Complimenten voor de kok en de bediening Gr peter en yvonne uit Brabant
