'T Hagen in Wijk 01 Haaksbergen (buitengebied)

The location is beautiful, and after a long walk, it was lovely to plop down somewhere. Upon arrival, the tables hadn't been cleared yet, but oh well, that can happen. We just sat down, expecting it to be sorted out quickly, as it certainly wasn't busy. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the start of a rather peculiar experience. We weren't served, and only after looking around questioningly did a very young girl finally come to take our order. We ordered two drinks and Chips & Nuts. Meanwhile, all sorts of things were happening on the terrace. Tables remained piled high with dirty plates and glasses. People around us complained that their order still hadn't arrived. Others received their pastries and then had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes for their coffee. People had to ask multiple times if they could order something and if the dirty dishes could be taken away. Orders were also frequently brought to the wrong table. I truly didn't see anyone clean even a single table with a cloth. It seemed as if there was absolutely no oversight or direction. Our Chips & Nuts eventually arrived, but three items were missing from the platter. So we went back to report this. The platter came again, but something was still missing. At a certain point, we’d had enough: eat quickly and get out of there. You really wonder: where is the manager? The three very young girls were actually really sweet and friendly, by the way. That was absolutely not the issue. They were visibly trying their best, but had absolutely no idea what they were supposed to do and seemed to be standing on the terrace without any supervision. Actually, it was mostly just a shame, because the location is beautiful and there is definitely potential in this place. But the service and organization were really far below par this time.

Great food, friendly service, spacious layout, so plenty of privacy. Highly recommended!

A great spot to relax and enjoy a snack after a brisk walk. The prices are very reasonable. The cappuccino comes from a vending machine and was a bit disappointing. The apple pie was delicious! Pleasant music in the background would break the silence and enhance the atmosphere. I missed that.

We come here regularly. The food is good too.

You walk in. Silence (no music). One couple playing dice in a restaurant. You order a drink, and half an hour has passed and nothing has arrived yet. Even though there was hardly anyone there. Then you still have to go order food. Well, every windowsill is covered in dead flies, and it wasn't clean inside either. Tables sticky. Drinks not finished and food not ordered. Work to be done. P.S. We did hear from others that you really should go there sometime…
