An insider tip for long walks in unique natural surroundings – in the Buurserzand, you'll find De Wakel in the middle of a dreamlike landscape. You can sit inside or outside and enjoy hot chocolate with whipped cream, cappuccino, and fresh apple pie. The prices are reasonable, and the team is very friendly and dedicated. Dogs are welcome and provided with water. The outdoor seating enjoys a sunny side, sheltered from the wind, making it a pleasant place to sit even in the winter sun.

Beautiful place to take a break while cycling the flamingo route. Super friendly staff, delicious homemade apple pie with whipped cream and nice coffee. The prices are also still affordable. What a nice beautiful place👌

Went for dinner tonight with the whole family. The food was delicious and freshly made! The service was friendly, professional, and welcoming. We'll definitely be back. We also had lunch there a few times last summer, and it's highly recommended. Simply a great place!

Scholtenhagenweg 46The restaurant goes to great lengths to exude exclusivity with its black and gold theme. However, for a rather expensive piece of meat, I expected it to be better than what I get at home. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Despite that, we still had a pleasant evening, thanks to the friendly service and fantastic company. Funnily enough, yesterday in the heart of Groningen, we ordered the same thing for half the price, and the presentation and taste were far superior to what we received here.
