Real traditional Italian food! Nice atmosphere

Dutch people... are really not interested in food... The menu is limited.

Short version: this place is worth a substantial detour from whatever route you had in mind. If you are curious just how good food can be, in a small restaurant in a residential area, come here. The menu is limited, which in my book is a good sign. People are people here, including the guests, hosts and cooks. And boy can they cook. I have never had a better caponata than here. Anywhere. Barring none. We had the dishes of the day, being a beef stew and dorade. The desserts were a Tiramisu (not some fantasy version either) and a semifreddo / parfait. The quality was not what you expect from a small local restaurant: higher than most in town. The sauces of the stew and dorade were outstanding, the wine was suited for the meal and reasonably priced and the desserts were to return for. Why come here? For the food and the people that worked to bring that food to your plate.

The food was fine, but very expensive for the small portion you get. Unfortunately we will not come back here because it is too expensive

Excellent place which I very recommend!!! As an Italian, stepping in Casa Capello, gives you the feeling to be in Italy. Aldo, the owner, puts passion and professionalism in all services. A traditional cuisine, with a flavor of innovation and refinement that makes all dishes to be extremely delicious.

Nice, intimate and modest restaurant. The owner is a nice and friendly host. Went out with two 17-year-olds who the next day were still talking about how good it all tasted.

We had a group dinner at Casa Capello last night. It was great! The owner showed us the fresh truffels and used them in the dishes prepared. They were flexible to prepare dishes as we requested as well. I had the noci pasta and asked for truffels to be added and tagliatelli to be used instead of fusilli. All requests were accommodated. The owner served us and service was very good . Everyone enjoyed the food and the atmosphere!

This restaurant could be a very good one, but there are two things that would prevent me from recommending it: there is not a large choice of dishes on the menu, and the quantities are much too small. What is the point in going to a restaurant if you are still hungry when you get home? Whether this is to increase the profit or to encourage customers to order more dishes is, in mind opinion, unacceptable, which marred the whole experience.

Cozy restaurant, but the dishes were disappointing for a real Italian. The pasta seemed to come from a package and we missed that extra Italian. Better luck next time Aldo!

Good atmosphere in this little restaurant in a nice part of The Hague. The cook was probably on leave , because the food was quite plain , and the pasta did not look home made . That was a little bit a disappointment since the reviews are so good.

Extremely sympathetic restaurant. Italian dishes, served by the authentic and Italian-born owner Aldo. You won't find this in the city centre, so absolutely worth a detour!

Brilliant, brilliant, I have eaten in a lot of fine places, this is up there with the best of them!! HM great location. Lovely host!! He takes the orders and the food and wine is to die for!! This is an amazing food experience!!!! Had the steak tartare to start with! Previously I had steak tartare in Ashford Castle, best hotel Ireland!! This was up there !!!! Has the fillet steak special and wow!! I’m sorry the evening has to end !! If you like food , you have to eat here!! Tiramisu for dessert didn’t disappoint!! But needs more alcohol!! Great food and evening!!! Tripadvisor undid itself!! I have been in many places and this was a place I loved 👍👍👍 Cannot wait to return!!!

Mijn vader en ik zijn hier uit eten geweest. Hele aardige eigenaar! Het eten was heel erg lekker en vers. Zeker een aanrader. We zullen hier nog eens naartoe komen :)

Een hele leuke plek, zeer vriendelijke ontvangst en bediening. Lekker eten! Hier komen we zéker terug!

Weggestopt in de wijk,maar een aanwinst. Zeker nog een keer terug.

We hebben heerlijk gegeten, alles was perfect. Aldo en Julia hebben ervoor gezorgd dat we een top avond hebben gehad met hun gastvrijheid en vriendelijkheid. Ik raad het restaurant dan ook zeker aan en we komen terug als we weer in de buurt zijn!

Abbiamo mangiato benissimo e ci siamo sentite come “a casa”. Da italiana posso dire che è un cibo e servizio 100% autentico. Consigliatissimo! -We had a great dinner and we felt as if we were back home in Italy. I could say that this food is 100% “made in Italy”. Give it a shot!-

Amazing chef, food and just a good environment + experience.

Lecker zu Abend gegessen in Casa Capello in der Archipelbuurt. Weil Corona endlich nicht mehr so dominant ist, hatten wir einen Tisch reserviert und Freitagabend dort gegessen. Die Menükarte ist nicht groß aber interessant und die Hauptgerichte muss man erfragen, da sie wechseln. Und es wird noch mit der Italienischen Manier von primi und secundi piatti gearbeitet. Der Service ist gut und auch die kleine Weinkarte hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir nahmen zwei Vorspeisen und zwei “primi piatti” sehr leckere Nudelgerichte. Das Dessert haben wir uns geteilt und im Anschluss noch einen sehr leckeren Italienischen Espresso genossen (klein aber sehr geschmackvoll). Ein versteckter aber absolut zu empfehlender Italiener in Den Haag.

Iedere keer een genot en feestje om hier te eten. De truffel polpettone is super! een smaakexplosie zo lekker... dit moet je zelf proeven. Risotto is ook fantastisch van smaak. Aandacht en liefde voor het echte Italiaanse eten. En dat merk je aan alles.

Fijn, knus restaurant met een paar bijzondere pastagerechten en verder dagschotels. Uiterst betaalbaar, gezellig en simpel maar goed en lekker. Zo hoort het ! Hulde!

Een feestje voor jezelf! We zitten nu te genieten van een crema di limoncello Nonna Luisa, homemade by Casa Capello. Hebben een dineetje afgehaald, kaarsjes en muziekje aan, heerlijk gegeten. Making the best of december.

Beautiful meal, excellent service, lovely wine. One of the nicest places I've been in The Hague.

Eten was lekker, maar duur voor weinig. 1 portie is maar net genoeg voor 1 persoon en meer dan €10. Maar dan heb je wel eten van een echte Italiaan...

Este restaurante está ubicado en un barrio encantador en La Haya y la comida es absolutamente deliciosa. El dueño del restaurante es italiano y, por lo tanto, el menú tiene muchos platos italianos auténticos. La decoración interior del restaurante es hermosa y elegante. El servicio es excelente. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante!

Locale piccolo ma con un fascino tutto suo, menù molto interessante e ricco di opportunità da gustare! Ci siamo fatti consigliare da Aldo che è davvero bravo e appassionato nel suo lavoro.Abbiamo optato per una bittiglia di vino un antipasto e pappardelle al cinghiale e tartufo e stato tutto delizioso. Un’esperienza da rifare.

Heerlijk eten gebaseerd op de keuken van Piemonte . Aldo is een voortreffelijke gastheer. Mooi en gezellig interieur. Alles in balans.
