Pinseria La Storia in The Hague offers authentic Italian cuisine. The pinsa romana,fermented dough, is light, crispy, and so delicious I forgot to take a photo because I was too hungry! The homemade tiramisù is special and memorable. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, fair prices. Highly recommended!

Very nice and attentive waiter, as a starter the homemade bread with olives and a garlic dip was very tasty, as a main course spaghetti bolognese was also very tasty, obviously a bit more expensive but it is everywhere in the city center, definitely worth a recommendation and I will come again

With the amount I'm paying and the food I'm getting, won't wanna come back again. It was 21 euros for just a small piece of pinsa with some ham and artichoke in top. And was further charged for the takeaway without notice. Food was not fantastic either.

Great pasta and very pleasant staff

The manager or the staff were probably annoyed...we left the restaurant because, although it wasn't full, it seemed like people were waiting forever for their food. The menu was only in Dutch, not even English, which is to be expected. What are you supposed to order?

The service at this restaurant was extremely rude. After we sat down, we wanted to sit by the window, but the staff insisted that the table was already reserved — even though no one was sitting there and the restaurant was nearly empty. When we tried to grab a menu ourselves, a female staff member signaled that we weren’t allowed to take it on our own and said someone would bring it over. The ridiculous part is — the menu was literally right behind us, within arm’s reach, yet we still weren’t allowed to take it. Eventually, a male server brought it over and practically threw it onto the table in front of us with a very arrogant attitude. Then he tossed the remaining menu onto another seat like he was annoyed. The whole experience felt like they didn’t want customers to be there at all. So we decided to leave. As we walked out, the female and male staff happily said, “Goodbye!” — like they were glad to see us go. Honestly, it felt like their entire goal was to drive customers away. I can’t help but wonder what the owner of this place is thinking — keeping staff like this around is basically asking to go out of business. [Follow-up to my previous review] Since Google Maps doesn’t allow direct replies to owner responses, I’m leaving this follow-up here for context. As everyone can see, the owner has provided a wonderfully detailed explanation — truly a masterclass in customer service. It’s clear that in this restaurant, even if the customer enters with a polite smile and behaves respectfully throughout, none of that really counts — what matters more is that we follow their unspoken rules perfectly, and ideally, read minds too. I now understand that being a “qualified customer” requires extensive training. I’ll be sure to work harder next time, and perhaps one day I’ll reach the high standards required to deserve a table — or even a menu — at this establishment. Thank you again for the educational response. I’ve definitely learned something.

Amazing soft atmosphere. Classy. We enjoyed really nice fresh pasta, you could tell that the produce was of a quality. Tasty and worth its price and wait. But! Inside was quite hot, no AC in sight. With the pizza oven being right on the floor, it should be accommodated. Ladies bathroom had no toilet paper insert in the holder, only laying around Even thought we were literally alone in the entire restaurant, service was slow and every course took quite long. Service was good, but the waitress was really quiet and shy, bless her heart 😊 We had a nice time, enjoyed a good conversation and a 3-course meal. Definitely recommend but we hope that these small drawbacks could be accommodated in the future. PS: Tiramisu ice cream is to die for ;)

Yesterday, the three of us went to Pinseria La Storia for dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the best part was the dessert, an excellent tiramisu. If we ever come back to The Hague, we'll definitely stop here again.

We stumbled upon this restaurant when we were on holiday in Den Haag. We both had the carbonara, shared the Bruscetta and I had a Tiramisu for dessert. All three dishes were really tasty and the portions were more than generous. They have big pizzaoven in the guestroom and you can watch them make the pinse, which looked deliscious as well. Would defenitely recommend.

By far the best Italian in The Hague. The food is so authentic great. It differs by far from the other Italian restaurants. It is my favorite place; I bring each time new friends and also, they are impressed and enjoy the great food and hospitality of the place. Friendly staff, great chef! The most authentic Italian pizza in The Hague! I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the most authentic Italian pizza I’ve ever had outside of Italy. The dough is perfect — light, flavorful, and made with top-quality ingredients. Every time I come back, I fall in love all over again. To top it all off, the owners are incredibly kind, friendly, and always welcoming. Their warmth and hospitality make every visit even more special. We had dinner at Pinsaria La Storia and truly enjoyed the experience. While we had to wait quite a while, it was clear that everything was made fresh and with care—which absolutely paid off in taste. One of our orders got mixed up, but the replacement dish was just as delicious, so no complaints there. We tried the pasta, lasagna, and a pinsa, and everything was full of authentic flavor. Great value for the quality. Definitely a place we’d recommend and return to.

The best Italian food in The HAGUE

We had a lovely dinner with eight people at your place. Tables were rearranged and set for us without a reservation. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. It was good value for money. The fireplace in the restaurant makes the whole place cozy. I can't say whether it would be too hot in midsummer, as we were there on a cool day. If it gets too hot, you can always go up to the first floor.

Just had lunch here. Food is authentic, fresh and very tasty. Perfect spot if you’re looking for proper Italian cuisine in an easygoing atmosphere. I genuinely appreciated the additional information about the pinsa dough. We will come back for sure.

Very attentive staff delivering both antipasti and main course right on time. Nice selection of beverages as well! We chose salmon carbonara and pinsa and they were both very tasty! Don’t forget the coffee!

Food is great, but the guy working there is acting very dull, almost rude at times. I am saying this on behalf of a group of people that have experienced the same. Hopefully this can be discussed with him so that the atmosphere gets better for everyone

Pinsa was good! But it took more than one hour and a half to bring the food. And also the antipasti was brought very late! I definitely appreciate that they apologized for the delay and I know,guys that is not your fault for running out of staff, but you should take our review as an advice.

Nice restaurant, delicious food and good service. We ordered a bottle of wine that could serve 5 glasses. When it turned out that the 5th glass was only a bottom, a new bottle was opened without any problem to serve. And a limoncello on the house! We also really appreciated the choice of music. We would love to go back again!

My partner and I stayed here and will continue to visit. The service was good and attentive until the end when things got strange. We had ordered food for which we had to wait about 50 minutes. There was no small apology or anything like that. After the main course we were enthusiastically asked if we wanted dessert or something similar. We think the food was fresh, but when we finally ate it, it was really fresh but tasted bland. In my opinion, my partner's tortellini was subpar and the portion of my lasagne was really mini, hardly seasoned for a lot of money. As a starter we had bread with a dip and 5 olives. We are happy to pay more for the food, but the approx. 80 grams of bread with dip and 5 olives must have cost 7-8 euros, which is really not justified. When it came to paying we noticed that the mood was strange. We always tip well but other than the nice service there was really no reason for it. Accordingly, the boss/waiter was in a good mood when we left.

If you don't know where to eat in Den Haag I absolutely recommend Pinseria La Storia. An excellent little place a stone's throw from the center where you will find the two owners (Emanuele and Diana) who will take you directly to Italy with their cuisine. The place is clean, the food is good and the service is also fast and the waiters will satisfy your request every time. Highly recommended

- the prices are different online than on the real menu - there's no option for big or small pinse - nobody could tell me what the special dough was - staff could not recommend wine - the mood feels quite tense with the staff

The service was terrible, very rude. No English menu, and they were surprised that I needed one. We were sitting on the one side of the table for 2, me and my partner, looking at menus when the guy came and told us to sit "normally" (so he meant sit opposite to each other instead of next to each other). Later they claimed that there was reservation on next table so we would bother them, when literally 3 min ago the guy offered us that table because he thought we were 4 (with the other people in line). I haven't tried food, simply because we didn't felt welcomed there, the guy was saying "byeeee" very excited, moment he saw us leaving. Maybe food is okay but with the rude staff with attitude, nothing tastes good:)

Restaurant doesn't have that much space and it's a bit cramped, but the food is very tasty and the portion is okay for the price.

Having arrived home late Christmas evening from Texas, I enjoyed a small Christmas dinner at our favourite Italian with Bodo and his mum. Run by a young Italian couple, Manuel and Diana, their love of home cooking and passion for quality is evident. Though Pinsas are the speciality of the house, the home made pastas and Christmas specials including a favourite of mine Spaghetti Vongole were delicious. The best brushetta in town as well as a delicious chocolate souffle cannot be missed. The restaurant is quaint, reminding one of the small streets of a big Italian city like Naples, Bologna, Catania. Service is family friendly, attentive but not pompous or rapid like a Micheln restaurant but one to chill, relax chat whilst celebrating good food and quality ingredients. Certainly a very enjoyable evening and one we will remember for a long while.

I was looking for a good italian restaurant and this place looked like a good option. However, it was a big disappointment. We were two people and waited almost 1 hour to receive our food (and we were very few customers). The waiter was REALLY rude. We are not coming back.

Since half a year I live in the city. Since the beginning of living here i come to La Storia regularly. Actually several times per week. Its easy for me on walking distance and i can bring my dog (Labradoodle) although he is big. Manuel and his wife are perfect hosts and every visit to their restaurant is pleasure. The food i love and the wines are great. Service is in my opinion perfect. It feels like being in Italy and they do their best to even present special dishes (as I know the menu by heart by now). I can only recommend this place to everybody.

I had to wait about an hour for a Spaghetti á la Carbonara. Large chunks of burnt bacon with little flavor. I am a spaghetti lover and would not recommend this to anyone. A long chili Chicken at Burger King brought more pleasure to my taste glands than an overpriced experience at Pinseria La Storia.

Finally I found a place abroad run by Italians with 100% Italian food. We also returned the following evening. The pinsas are excellent, starters with quality raw materials and finally good first courses. The place is large and welcoming and the staff are friendly and very kind. Special mention for the house "Tiramisu", a must try. But it should be noted that they also have Italian craft beers in bottles... 7 different flavours! Really top notch place

Delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere

You can enjoy delicious food here for a good price-quality ratio! The Pinsas are freshly prepared in view of the customers. They are deliciously topped and they are happy to help you if you want something special on them. The tiramisu is highly recommended! We ended the evening with a delicious limoncello from the company.

Nice pinseria with a confident, funny boss. The two of us shared a Pinsa Margherita for lunch, as unfortunately the online menu with two different sizes was not available in the restaurant. We really enjoyed the pinsa and the cheese was really nice. Unfortunately, the menu explicitly stated cherry tomatoes as a topping, which we didn't find on our pizza. The basil was limited to four leaves in the middle of the pinsa. Therefore only 4 out of 5 stars.

I’ve visited this restaurant a few times and always found the food fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, due to repeated negative experiences with a particular male staff member, I won’t be returning, and neither will my friends. On two separate occasions, I was treated in a rude and patronizing manner by the same staff member. My experience aligns closely with another reviewer who noted similar treatment, suggesting that non-Asian or non-brown customers did not receive the same level of disrespect. I felt exactly the same way. This pattern is concerning and disappointing. During my last visit, I was rudely informed that the restaurant was closed, even though the door was open and the listed hours indicated it should be open. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially when better alternatives, like VIP—a POC-friendly establishment—are available nearby. A reminder to the management: all customers, regardless of their background, deserve respectful treatment. I hope you can address this issue so that others don’t have the same experience. Addition: In response to the owner’s reply below, I would also advise the staff to avoid being defensively dismissive or lecturing customers about their experiences. To genuinely improve customer service, it’s important to empathize with others and understand how actions, even if unintended, might be perceived as discriminatory. A response that begins with, “I’m sorry you felt this way,” does not constitute a genuine apology. It’s worth noting that another customer of color has had a similar experience, indicating this is not an isolated incident. I hope the staff will work on their inclusive communication skills. The food is good, and I still wish for your success.

Terrible service; waited over an hour and the food was just overall mediocre. Tables that came at least half an hour later than we did were even served way earlier than we were. I’m now reading the reply and laughing out loud. What a clown🤡 made my day tho, thanks a lot lmao😂 And that teacher is in no way gonna be you🤭

We ate with the family and it was an incredible experience. They treated us great and the quality of the food was 10! I recommend it 100%
