Great food and environment. Staff is super Kindle and always paying attention on the customers. I’ve been before and it never change ❤️ The ceviche, for me, is the star of the menu but I tried recently Tres Leches, which is made by the owner, and uhhh Lala: wonderful!!!

The coffee is so incredibly delicious! I have rarely drunk such delicious coffee, and I am really picky when it comes to coffee. We sat outside in the sunshine and the most wonderful aromas were coming from the restaurant, so next time we will definitely eat here too!

Casa Peru is a true hidden gem in the heart of Amsterdam. The food is absolutely delicious, full of authentic Peruvian flavors and prepared with great care and attention to detail. Food was incredible, excellent service and the atmosphere amazing, the outdoor seating with view to the canal is chef kiss, but the indoor sitting is beautiful as well. So much love and attention to detail in the wonderful restaurant! Definitely coming back 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Nice alternative to traditional food offerings, pleasant dishes combining tender meats and well cooked rice with cassava and plantains, potatoes and such. Peruvian food is comfort food! Really nice staff, fast service and with a nice spot along the canal for watching the world turn by. There's also a one-eyed orange cat living above the entrance, too cute for words!

This is my 2nd time here, and it's been absolutely delicious. The menu offers tasty dishes from the Peruvian cuisine and this time we ordered the ceviche for starter and the lamb and beef for main dishes. Everything was made to perfection, served with a smile and care. We will surely be back for more.

The food was good, especially the seco de cordero, which was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was lacking, it didn’t feel like a Peruvian restaurant, except for the food. The music didn’t reflect Peruvian or even Latin American culture at all. The service was disappointing as well. We clearly explained our allergies, but they still served dishes with ingredients we had specifically asked to be left out.

The food was very good, to start a refreshing dish of chicken with mashed potatoes and avocado very good. Then a dish with rice and meat that we loved "lomo saltado". And to finish the tres leches that we were blown away. We will be back.

Hi my name is Divina Divina. Very nice restaurant. Food is great and people working here are really kind and take care of the guests. The tables at the little canal make a dinner really unique as atmosphere and maracuia pisco sauer is very nice. For sure a restaurant to visit in Amsterdam

The ceviche was delicious but the portion was very small for the price. We also had lomo saltado, which tasted good but the pieces of beef were very small and the rice was a bit dry. My suggestion is to increase the portion sizes a little so that the dishes are worth the price.

I loved this place! Even with all the wonderful places around here to eat, my mother and I went to this place 2 times because it was so good. The interior is beautiful and the food is very flavorful, fresh, and the presentation is great! Try their sangrias. They’re the best!. Don’t miss this wonderful restaurant! I cannot wait to come back here next time I’m in Amsterdam.

Like any capital city, Amsterdam is not cheap, I’d say similar prices to London. I went to Amsterdam for a 3-night break and stumble across this Peruvian restaurant while walking around the area near my hotel. As someone born and bred in Peru (but left over 30 years ago), I am very precious about Peruvian food and I tend to assess the quality of a Peruvian restaurant outside Peru by its Pisco sour and Ceviche, so if both are good, then it’s very likely the rest of the food will be good and it’s a place worth going back to. When I found this restaurant, I had already had dinner, so I decided to try it out the next evening. However, when I was back at my hotel and I saw their menu on the website, I was shocked by their prices, e.g. nearly 20 euros for a ceviche which is a small starter. So, when I went there the next evening, I ordered a pisco sour, a ceviche, a portion of ‘yuca frita’ (cassava chips). I soon realised that the cassava chips were only served with mayonnaise – I’m not sure if it’s homemade, so I asked for ‘huancaina sauce’. The pisco sour was ok, not bad but I have definitely had much better ones. The ceviche was delicious and the flavours took me straight back to Peru! The cassava chips were nice and so was the special sauce. I was in a hurry to go to another activity, so I paid the bill quickly and left. Within the hurry I realised that I was overcharged for the huancaina sauce, which was listed at 2.50 euros on the menu and they charged me 4.00 euros. Obviously, the 1.50 euros is not the issue, but the principle of being overcharged, and as a Peruvian eating Peruvian food so far away from Peru, it hurts even more! Overall, my bill for those 3 items: a cocktail, a starter and a snack came to nearly 50 euros. The day before I had dinner at a traditional Dutch restaurant, and had a started, a huge main, a side of greens, and a glass of wine, and the bill came to just under 41 euros – much better value with really delicious food! So, in comparison, Casa Peru was not good value at all. So, if you love Peruvian food and decide to go to Casa Peru while in Amsterdam, then don’t bother with the Pisco Sour, definitely order the ceviche, and maybe try one of the mains. In other reviews, I read people were really delighted with the ‘lomo saltado’. When I went, the lady sitting at the table next to me ordered that and the dish smelled delicious, but the vegetables looked far too overcooked. Maybe risk it and give it a go but be prepared to pay more than at other places in Amsterdam with fantastic food!

We didn't order anything there, so I can't comment on the food or drinks, but I can on the service. We sat down, and since they offered more snacks than meals, we decided not to stay. Unfortunately, my partner left his iPhone there. We were only able to locate it when we got home to Germany, so we called them directly. We'd already searched for it but couldn't find it. They said they would send it to us and that we should email them the address. Then they replied that they didn't have time to send it and that we should pick it up. This turned out to be an excuse. We asked again, explaining that we live 5-6 hours from Amsterdam and that we would, of course, cover the shipping and any other expenses. We also clarified that we didn't need the iPhone immediately, since they supposedly didn't have time. Finally, they replied that it was too risky to send it by mail. Ever heard of insured shipping? I find it outrageous that they then mention that customers often forget their phones and have to pick them up. We had already proven that the iPhone belonged to us. I really wonder if those people wouldn't have appreciated some help. Luckily, we had such wonderful hosts who picked up the iPhone for us and sent it by mail. Apparently, that was impossible for the owner and her staff. They would have preferred to make us drive another 5-6 hours (one way). Very disappointing.

I’m so happy I didn’t walk past this place. I had never tried Peruvian cuisine before, but I have eaten lamb many times in different places — and I can honestly say this was the most delicious lamb I’ve ever had in my life. The Seco de cordero was absolutely incredible — tender, rich, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. The service was not only very warm and welcoming, but also impressively fast. I highly recommend stopping by if you want to have a truly delicious meal. Don’t miss this place!

Last Sunday afternoon, we just managed to find a lovely spot in the sunshine overlooking the canal and the passing boats in this cozy restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed, there was a lively buzz, and the staff was friendly and laid-back. At first, we only wanted to have a drink, but after seeing the food at the communal table and their recommendation, we spontaneously decided to have something to eat as well. It was a wonderful, enjoyable afternoon, and we will definitely do this again. The espresso is also highly recommended.

We had dinner at Casa Peru on Sunday and, overall, I enjoyed the experience very much. The service was very kind, the restaurant is in a fantastic location, and even the walk there adds something special to the experience. I also found the food to be very true to Peruvian cuisine, which I especially appreciated, and the Pisco Sour was absolutely delicious, very aromatic and beautifully executed. It wasn't the real Peruvian taste. Furthermore, a lot was missing, like Causa and Inca Cola. Nice people, but slow service.

As a Peruvian, I was surprised with how authentic and delicious this place was. I always judge a restaurant by their Lomo Saltado, and theirs did not disappoint. It had so much flavor that my abuela would be proud!

We ordered the ceviche, causa de pollo and the tiradito as a starter - and the aji the gallina, lomo saltado and the estofado asado de tira for a main course. And many pisco/maracuya sours. It felt like being back in Peru. Huge recommendation if you like/know Peruvian food and pisco sours!

Best Peruvian restaurant in Amsterdam! Casa Peru is always my #1 choice when business takes me to Amsterdam. The restaurant itself is bright and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and provide prompt service. The lomo saltado is a must-try (pro tip: order the pepper sauce on the side for a spicy kick!). You also can't visit without trying the tres leches cake; the cake is superb, and they add a touch of passionfruit coulis that really makes it sing!

I had a very delicious meal here yesterday. The starter was a large platter of lightly fried fish, octopus, and mussels with a delicious salad (to share). Next, a chicken dish baked in milk, and for dessert, a kind of moist cake. All the dishes were perfect in terms of taste and composition. The Chilean white wine paired well with them. Delicious!!

The food was not great. Got the price the cevice was very little. The main dish had no flavor no salt whatsoever. In would not eat here again.

If you are looking for authentic Peruvian food or simply a place to sit near the canal and have pint. Or both! This is the place for you. Lomo saltado and Papa à la huancaina were flavoursome and worthwhile. While the price is slightly steep, it is Amsterdam and I don’t think you’ll be able to find any better Peruvian food around the area.

We had a fantastic lunch at Casa Perú! My husband, our two kids, and I ordered the Lomo Saltado, Sopa de Pollo, and Yuca, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were authentic and fresh, it really satisfied my craving for Peruvian food. My kids loved their meals too, which made it even more enjoyable for our family. The staff was extremely polite and welcoming, making the experience feel very special. The restaurant was also very clean and had a warm, inviting atmosphere. As someone from Peru, I can honestly say this place truly captures the taste of home. I would highly recommend Casa Perú to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Peruvian cuisine. We can’t wait to come back!

We loved Casa Perù. The food was authentic and refined. The Pisco Sour and Maracuyà were fantastic, the Causa del Pollo and the Tiradito, the lamb stew were delicious and tasty, and the Tres Leches was a great way to end our meal. The location is also ideal, next to the canal and in a great neighborhood. The Peruvian owner is welcoming and makes sure you are have everything you need whether you are a one time tourist, a group of South American customers longing for your culture or a regular customer who eats there 3 times a week. Casa Perù is a special place, we will make sure to come back when visiting Amsterdam again.

The service was terrible. We were the first to arrive; there was no one else in the restaurant. We ordered, and they took ages to serve us, and then a lot of people arrived. We have a baby, and they served everyone, getting our order mixed up and taking it to another table. The waitress ate the other dish. They don't speak Dutch, they don't speak Spanish, and they get confused with English. I asked for two glasses of water in all three languages. It's not a comfortable place, they aren't friendly, and the portions are small for the price. In the end, we left with a crying, hungry baby and without food because our order never arrived.

We popped in for coffee and pastry during lunch. When we wanted to order coffee with the same pastry as the table next to us, the customers were very enthusiastic, and the owner advised us to order one piece and share. One piece was indeed more than enough for two people. This thoughtful approach to customer service is top-notch! I don't remember what kind of pastry it was, but it's (also) offered as a dessert and was incredibly delicious. The coffee was also of far above average quality. A place to remember for us.

Today I had a very disappointing experience at Casa Perú in Amsterdam. I came to the restaurant with my wife and my two-and-a-half-year-old son. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty. The menu was mostly in Dutch and partially in English. I asked if anyone spoke Spanish, which you would normally expect in a Peruvian restaurant, but they told me no. We ordered two dishes to share: a seafood rice (arroz con mariscos) and a chicken “picante de pollo”. After placing our order, we waited for more than 30 minutes. During that time the restaurant started filling up with tourists. A group speaking Spanish sat at a nearby table. They ordered lomo saltado and picante de pollo. When the food finally started coming out of the kitchen, the waitress brought a seafood rice dish — the one I had ordered — but instead of bringing it to our table, she delivered it to that other table that had arrived after us. The customer at that table told her that it was not his order because he had ordered lomo saltado. However, instead of checking the orders properly, the waitress left the dish there. When she walked by our table again, I told her that the seafood rice was actually our order and that we had arrived and ordered first. She then took the dish from that table and placed it on the bar counter, as if we now had to wait while the kitchen prepared the correct order for the other table. In other words, my food — which had already been mistakenly served to another table — was simply set aside while we were expected to keep waiting. At no point did anyone come to apologize, acknowledge the mistake, or offer any solution. The attitude felt like: just wait until the other table’s order comes out and then we’ll deal with yours. After waiting more than half an hour, with my small child already hungry, I decided to stand up and leave. We had arrived when the restaurant was empty and ordered first, yet our food was served to another table that came later. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What matters is how they are handled. In this case there was no apology, no effort to fix the situation, and no real attention to the customer. Very disappointing service and a really poor experience. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Poor service and no accountability when they made a clear mistake.

It's a good thing we were enjoying the spring sunshine on the terrace, but the lunch was unimaginative: a white, pre-baked roll, sour cod with vinegar in the onions, not-so-warm croquettes, and not even a lettuce leaf or anything. It was also quite expensive.

Causa, I've been eating this at Lily's for years. And the flavors are truly exceptional. Delicious, addictive, and a culinary explosion for your taste buds every time. Peruvian cuisine is among the best in the world, and this is the best Peruvian restaurant in the Netherlands. And order the ceviche! Tigre de Leche, as it should be. It's like sitting on a terrace in Cusco, the sun on your face, the Andes surrounding you, and the first bite transporting you completely back to Peru.

Looking for coffee, we stumbled upon this restaurant. After our delicious, strong espresso, we decided to stay for dinner. A very good choice. Main course, soft drink, and a delicious cappuccino. The main course was delicious. The service was excellent. We were there on a Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM. Total for two people was €70. Keep in mind that it can be much busier on weekends.

(Review from a Peruvian) My girlfriend and I went for dinner after reading reviews about the generous portions. In the photos, the plates really did look full, giving the impression of Peruvian home cooking, unlike the other restaurants in the city where they do strange things, modify, and excessively inflate the price of something that's already perfect. We went with high hopes of finding that. We ordered the ceviche, and the portion was... meager. As for the fish, there was a lot of onion just taking up space, barely four pieces of fish per person, which were small and very thin... (photos attached...) The Ají de Gallina barely had any chicken, and the sauce was mostly bread... The only thing worth mentioning was the Lomo Saltado, which was very tasty and plentiful. The rest left much to be desired. The Tres Leches cake was good. Everything you see in the photos cost €107. We won't be back.

I’m Peruvian and just moved to the Netherlands, and honestly? I’ve been on a mission to find home in a bowl. After hitting up 4 other peruvian restaurants, I finally found the real deal here! The ceviche hit me right in the feels—it felt like being back on the beach with my family, it is so fresh and tasty. And the lomo saltado? Pure Peru on a plate, the flavor is just insane. This is officially my favorite spot now. The food is DELICIOUS and the staff are incredibly welcoming. You seriously need to try this place!

My experience with the Lomo Saltado sandwich at Casa Peru was beyond amazing 🤍🔥 The taste literally melts in your mouth! The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned with rich Peruvian flavors, and everything was balanced in a way that makes you enjoy every single bite. The sandwich was filling, the sauce was delicious, and every element was exactly where it should be 👌 Honestly, it was a different and special experience — it truly felt like traveling to Peru while staying right where you are 😍 Definitely not my last visit, and I highly recommend it to all lovers of unique and flavorful food 🇵🇪✨

A small, ground-floor restaurant on the corner of Prinsengracht, not to be missed. Inside, the low ceiling and sloping windows give the impression of being on board a boat. So does the water of the canal beyond the windows. Instead, you find yourself on the other side of the world. Andean music, reproductions of angels and Madonnas from Spanish colonial Baroque on the walls, a menu offering papas a la huancaina, ceviche, lomo saltado, aji de gallina, and a good glass of pisco sour. The welcome is so warm on snowy and windy days, and the food is so good, that I went back three times during my three-week winter stay in Amsterdam.

The food isn't bad, but the prices are outrageously expensive! Completely ridiculous! A tiny glass Inka Kola (the small size) costs 7 euros, seriously! 🙄 Not even the personal size! It's a total rip-off for consumers who want and miss their food.
