A small, ground-floor restaurant on the corner of Prinsengracht, not to be missed. Inside, the low ceiling and sloping windows give the impression of being on board a boat. So does the water of the canal beyond the windows. Instead, you find yourself on the other side of the world. Andean music, reproductions of angels and Madonnas from Spanish colonial Baroque on the walls, a menu offering papas a la huancaina, ceviche, lomo saltado, aji de gallina, and a good glass of pisco sour. The welcome is so warm on snowy and windy days, and the food is so good, that I went back three times during my three-week winter stay in Amsterdam.

The food isn't bad, but the prices are outrageously expensive! Completely ridiculous! A tiny glass Inka Kola (the small size) costs 7 euros, seriously! 🙄 Not even the personal size! It's a total rip-off for consumers who want and miss their food.

It was a pleasant surprise to find a Peruvian restaurant with great food and very friendly service. We really enjoyed the music, but the Tres Leches cake was the star.

Yummy! The ceviche was superb. We had the chicken and the beef main dishes. Both were original and delicious. Service was super fast and lovely.

It's a small place, so I recommend booking. Friendly staff. The food is very good. A bit pricey, but of course, that's how it is in Amsterdam. Still, I recommend it.

The food was really good, to be honest. We ordered ceviche as an appetizer, followed by lomo saltado and aji de gallina. The ceviche was very good, fantastic I'd say, although I think it had a bit too much lemon, but it was very tasty. The two main courses, the aji de gallina and the lomo saltado, were very good. The dessert was delicious, excellent.

BAD/NO SERVICE! Simply terrible service! The woman was very affected, and I wasn't served at all; I had to carry my food out myself. Since I, as a customer, have no experience with a tray (with bottles, glasses, and food on it), I knocked over a bottle of cola, and no one helped me, let alone gave me a new one! I will definitely never go there again.

I visited Casa Peru and really enjoyed the food — everything was tasty and well-prepared. The restaurant has a great location, which makes it easy to find and convenient to visit. The pisco sour wasn’t the best for me, but the tres leches dessert was absolutely delicious and definitely worth trying. Overall, a nice experience and I would come back for the food and desserts!

The pork belly seems to be stewed first and then fried. It is very soft and delicious. The corn kernels as a side dish are also delicious.

I'll be honest: I'm quite disappointed with the quality of the food here. Compared to traditional Peruvian food (I've been to Peru many times), I feel like a lot is missing here. My Peruvian wife was even more disappointed. I had the papa a la huancaina as an appetizer and lomo saltado as a main course. The papa a la huancaina was missing the most important ingredient: the Peruvian yellow pepper, which meant the sauce didn't taste as it should. What I missed with the lomo saltado was the fact that the meat, onions, and tomatoes weren't flambéed. This made the meat quite tough, and the flavor was completely lost, even though they should have complemented each other. My wife had the seco de cordero: the beans weren't tasty, and the meat wasn't seasoned well. This makes the price-quality ratio very disappointing (almost €140 for 3 people).

I am a Dutch local, this is one of the best ceviches o have ever eaten. The ambiance is amazing on the canal. The owner is soo sweet, hard working. I advise everyone to come and check out a real Peruvian kitchen in Amsterdam. We will be back with friends for shire!!

The food was okay, but the service was really disappointing. The waiter was rude and didn’t bother removing the plates during the meal. Since the table was small, we ended up clearing the plates ourselves and putting them aside. When we asked for clean plates, he got annoyed and said we already had some. Definitely a poor experience. The location was good though.

Bad experience, the loin meat is sautéed however it is boiled. Everything is ready. But the most uncomfortable thing was that I asked for chili and they charged me €2.50.

I am Peruvian 🇵🇪 and this was my first and last visit to this restaurant. I give it 1 star because I can't put less. While I was talking via video call with my family in Peru, the owner yelled at me from the counter saying that this was forbidden in the Netherlands and said that she was not interested in hearing my conversation. I have been living in the Netherlands for 5 years and people is alowed to use the cellphone and have video calls. My parents felt very sad for the way I was treated. I ordered bread with lomo saltado and did not taste good and was full of soy. Minutes later when Dutch customers arrived, the owner served them with a lot of kindness and respect. The peruvian owner treated dutch customers very good. I was charged a different price than the one on the menu. The waiter apologized saying that the menu was not up to date and gave me back the difference. This was the worst experienced ever in a restaurant.

The ceviche as an appetizer was a bit too sour. Quite a large portion. The main course of tenderloin, rice, fries, onion, tomato, and cilantro was delicious. The tenderloin was a bit tough. I found this dish a bit ordinary. I've eaten Peruvian food in Arnhem before, which was very refined and of exceptional quality. Unfortunately, I didn't experience that here. In terms of price-quality ratio, I find it expensive.

Abel to sit outside right over/next to the Prinsengracht - watching all the boats and fun people go by… from the tasty Chicken soup to the superb lamb stew - and the coffee and tres-Leches cake… this is one of my oases in Amsterdam..: loving it again as always Update - update Recently returned to Amsterdam and went straight to Casa Peru for my Peruvian Food “fix.” Just love the atmosphere (now in the winter season and it feels so “luminously warm”), the terrific food and flawless service. I had the Aji de Gallina and the tres leches cake. OMG… I loved the Aji (reminds me so of the true Peru) and the tres leches cake is to die for.enough said. I’d give 6 ****** if I could… Oh why the X2 ? Had now two incredible meals that were top level plus.. thank you! Initial review - After a terrific canal tour, I was looking for a relaxing place along the Prinsengracht to enjoy a “solid” cappuccino… I came across Casa Peru and I liked the feel of the “draw” towards the wonderfully quiet and welcoming “Ambiente.” The cappuccino was perfect. Ok it was lunch time and so I had lunch and a superb pisco sour came next. The food was prepared perfectly and was super tasty. Service was impeccable and attentive; and I did not feel rushed; Then I realized that there is outside seating as well right along the Prinsengracht and the entire lunch “moment” became a memorable experience … top food; top libations; top service and the result: this most positive review… I was for the time being transformed and felt I was in Peru….. true Peru in Amsterdam - lucky me (!) clearly deserving 5 Stars ***** and magic memories to carry forward …

One of the best meals of our two-week Rick Steves tour* of Belgium and the Netherlands. Ceviche and Chupe Camerones were exceptional and deliciously spiced. My very favorite place in Amsterdam, food is amazing. Seco de Cordero, Cevice, Tres leches the ones I love the most but also everything else taste as Perù(best kitchen in the world btw, Italian said). Hope to be back soon here in Amsterdam to visit Casa Perù one more time!
