We have been at Moche several times, the last time for lunch on Sunday. The food was amazing, as always, and we appreciated a lot the possibility have lunch instead of dinner. The atmosphere is also relaxed and friendly, no frills but everything served tastes delicious!

I started with tequeños, thinking they'd be like the Venezuelan ones, but then I realized they have a different version in Peru, and they were delicious too. The salmon a la huancaína was amazing. My boyfriend ordered the duck, and if we go again, I'm definitely ordering that. For dessert, we loved the brownie.

Absolutely delicious Peruvian cuisine. Oh my the flavours are just fantastic - spicy when needed, tangy when needed. So balanced. Cocktails are excellent. Mint & Coriander Pisco Sour was divine. Such lovely friendly service e. Just go!!

Everything was delicious and the attention was amazing as well! The only dish that I wasn’t amazed with was the Suspiro. As a Peruvian, it was too far from the original and it tasted too much like lemon. Otherwise, I am looking forward to going back.

Genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Having been to peru, I can say that the leche de Tigre was authentic and amazing, and everything we ordered was fantastic. The owner and the staff were so kind, it felt like I was in someone’s home. Highly recommend.

Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for something special! All the ingredients were super fresh and great quality, and the flavors were way more interesting than what you usually get in Amsterdam. Pretty close to what you’d find in Peru, actually. Not just the mains and starters were delicious (highly recommend the ceviche and salmon dishes), but even the fries on the side were amazing! Service was friendly, and the place itself looks really nice inside. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it. Only thing I’d tweak is the brownie dessert - it seemed to be regular in comparison with other dishes. Merengue dessert, however, was nice and creative , I liked it a lot.

Have been here 2 years ago because I was craving a authentic ceviche. It was the best I ever had. So comforting. I came back today for my birthday 2 years later and it was just as amazing. The service is great, the cocktail menu is so carefully made. The homemade infusion of pisco and hibiscus and juniper berries was soooo good. The gentleman in charge of the distilled drinks really knows what he is talking about. The woman doing service at our table was very attentive and kind. And i learned a few new things about the cuisine (I think) the owner gave a very warm welcome and made sure to check in with us when saying goodbye. Overall a place that makes you feel very welcome and at home, but special at the same time. Lots of thanks and appreciation for your passion and art, Will visit again soon<3

Amazing peruvian food. The best in the Netherlands by far. Nice and cozy location in AMS Oost, great design and service. We will come back anyway soon !!! Great experience and highly recommend it !!!

Super delicious food. The duck rice was super flavorful and the ceviches were also very good. And finally, the homemade brownie to finish off! The service was also very good; the staff was very friendly! The only downside - it was very cold downstairs; I had to put on my coat.

Friendly staff and delicious food, but I simply can't give a good review if you charge €5.50 for a bottle of still water. Note: We didn't even order it ourselves; the staff suggested it. It's an old-fashioned trick that I simply don't like. Reply to Moche's comment: the water was forced on us, so it's strange that you have to pay for it when we didn't order it.

Incredible food, cocktails and service!

Me and my partner had an excellent meal in Moche, both going for the chefs menu which was the perfect amount of food. The ceviche was incredible and we loved our passionfruit dessert. The service was great and our waitress was so helpful and friendly. Would recommend to our friends and definitely be back! Our only small issue was the upstairs and downstairs difference, as we were seated downstairs and it wasn’t quite the same ambiance but we still had a such a great time.

Highly recommended, the best Peruvian food in Amsterdam

I visited Moche a couple of months ago and had been meaning to write a review. A beautiful and cozy place in the increasingly beautiful east side of Amsterdam. I had a delicious meal. I ordered a pisco sour and a chilcano, which were both good. The ceviches and tiraditos were on par with Peruvian restaurants. The tuna and avocado one was delicious, the duck rice was delicious, and the ají de gallina croquettes were crispy and juicy, but lacked a bit of flavor. The service was very good; we were served by a very friendly and helpful Peruvian woman. To top it all off, the dulce de leche coulant and the meringue were worthy of a luxurious ending.

The experience was great. The stuff really nice, very friendly atmosphere and really quick service. The food was amazing, every dish was full of flavor. Only negative is the high prices...be prepared for 90€/pp (3 courses and 1 cocktail).

The food was good, the service was attentive (although we felt a little pressured into ordering quickly after being asked three times in a row). However, be prepared to pay a lot of money for what you get. The portions are not large, so we would’ve liked to order more food if it hadn’t been so expensive. If you like cocktails, be prepared to pay €16.90 for each. The Duck & Rice cost €32.50, and the Tiradito Ponzu €23.80. Overall a good experience, but the price point versus portion size was not balanced in our opinion. 🫤

Our evening began with pisco cocktails that impressed both in taste and presentation. After visited Peru, I was keen to taste again the cuisine. And what a disappointment. I was keen to try cerviche classico, but it was already gone by 8:00pm (and they let us know once we were about to order it. Tip: maybe share it with customers once you bring the menu). Staff was so unprofessional and clumsy. They brought the water but forgot the glasses. We ordered 2 drinks, first one arrived immediately, the second 20 minutes later(and few reminder later). The service was very slow, we waited a lot for our food as well and weren't asked if we needed anything. Food is good-ish but price-performance ratio is disappointing.

The food was great, but the service was awful, so I won't be returning. We kindly asked to be moved upstairs where there was a table available, but we were given the most random reason for this not being possible: "we just decided like this". My pregnant wife got sick due to the smell coming from the kitchen and later threw up all the food. Absolutely ruined our nice night with friends. The service was also slow, we waited a lot for our drinks and weren't asked if we needed anything.

We tried this restaurant on a Saturday night; it was quite busy, and the service was very, very poor. They only told us when we were ordering that some dishes were no longer available (are you already out of ingredients at 8 pm on a Saturday night?). They brought us a bottle of water but forgot the glasses. One drink arrived immediately, while the other arrived half an hour later (after a couple of reminders). The restaurant is nice, but the tables are crowded together (less than half a meter of space between each table in the first-floor dining room). The food is quite good, and the portions are just right: we ordered four dishes, at least two of which were very good. The prices, however, are incredibly high. €17 for a watered-down Pisco Sour is ridiculous.

After traveling for a month in Peru and savoring the delicious cuisine, we decided to continue our tasting after a day of sailing. After reading reviews, we opted for Moche. My fiancé wanted the cerviche classico, but it was already gone by 8:00 PM. So we opted for lomo soltado and boneless chicken. The boneless chicken was fine, the portion was small, but my fiancé really enjoyed it. The lomo soltado was a bit disappointing. The meat was tender and the other ingredients were also prepared okay, but the sauce was far too acidic. It seemed like they'd overdone it with vinegar or some other acid. We'd eaten a lot of lomo in Peru, and this didn't come close. The pisco maracuja wasn't bad, but for the price of 16 euros, it was a bit bland. The dessert, a sort of passion fruit crumble, was good and had an original flavor. The waitress was professional. I would just buy her a stool so she doesn't have to stand on the chairs in front of the guests with her shoes on when she needs to get glasses. The waiter seemed a bit new. And besides knocking my fiancé's alpaca coat off the chair, leaning over my fiancé while serving the guests next to us wasn't exactly a plus. Price-performance ratio is a bit disappointing.

The restaurant was in a nice area, and very cute decorated. I really liked what they did there. Definitely 5💫 for me. The service was OK, but my US friend was a bit shocked of the service, lol, that's why 3 💫 I would definitely come back for the Lomo Saltado and the Makis. The flavor was on point in this dishes 😍😊❤️ The rest didn't really seemed to me like Peruvian flavor: salmon in huancaina saus, ceviche, brownie and lemon pie. However, I do understand this is The Netherlands, it is a different target group, also different ingredients. So it is fine, it was more like fusion cousins in those plates. Definitely and by very far it was a lot better than other Peruvian restaurants I have visited here (including Callao in Den Haag) and I plan to go back for the Lomo and the makis!! PS: Sorry for slamming the door I thought it had a door stop and I was putting my jacket on 😳

I love Peruvian food in general. I am super happy that this restaurant fully focuses on Peruvian cuisine. Overall, the ingredients and menu are fine, but the taste was too strong for me. A little too much for everything. Too sour, too salty etc…

Highly recommended! Delicious Peruvian cuisine with tons of flavor and refinement. We started with the calamari, followed by the boneless chicken and the salmon, all perfectly prepared and incredibly flavorful. The service was also incredibly friendly and attentive. Definitely a place we'd love to return to when we're back in Amsterdam! Extra tip: There's also a ParkBee parking lot at Middenweg. That way, you won't have to pay through the nose for a meal here.

We had high expectations on Moche based on reviews, but left very disappointed. We ordered two glasses of white Grenache. A staff said only one glass remained and offered a Chardonnay instead. We agreed, but the Grenache tasted so off it had to be returned. Later, we noticed the wine list had changed. The Grenache and Chardonnay weren’t even on the current wine menu. It turned out we had been given an outdated wine list at the start, and were serving the very last left inventory to clear. When we pointed this out to the owner, he dismissed it as a minor reshuffle. Totally outrageous. The octopus dish served as a main (€26) was shockingly small. It was a definitely a starter size not a main, even compared to other photos of the same menu in reviews. Staff were inattentive, orders were mixed up. When paying, the staff just left the machine on our table and left, no follow-up. After waiting for a receipt that never came, we had to bring it to the bar to confirm payment had gone through. I dine out frequently, and this was easily one of the most underwhelming dining I’ve had recently. **** Edit to clarify a few points from my side after the restaurant’s response 1. Regarding the wine: yes, I raised the menu issue at the table. You initially said the wine selection was the same and only the layout had changed. I pointed out clearly that the White Grenache we ordered wasn’t on the new list, nor were some other wines that are now listed. You then said, “It’s just that one,” and tried to move on. But now, in your public reply, you’re repeating the same claim that the wine list was unchanged which directly contradicts the facts. We ordered a wine based on an old menu, were served the very last glass of that bottle, and it wasn’t on the current list. That’s not “same selection with a different design.” I understand mistakes happen. offering an outdated menu could be one of them. But when it’s pointed out, a simple acknowledgement would have sufficed. Instead, the consistent denial, both at the table and now again in this response, only reinforces my disappointment. 2. We attempted to order more drinks but struggled to get any staff’s attention despite multiple efforts to make eye contact. At the end, the payment terminal was placed on the table without explanation and no one returned to assist. If this is considered attentive service, I respectfully disagree. It’s great that other guests have had positive experiences. But implying that my experience doesn’t reflect the “actual” service is not appropriate.

Great Peruvian restaurant in the beloved Amsterdam East

First of all, the food was spectacular, very tasty and high quality. Then, the overall service was excellent, and the Catalan lady working was lovely. Thank you!

The food was decent, but the portions were small for the price. While the quality was fine, it didn’t feel very filling or worth the value. A nice spot for a light meal, but not ideal if you’re looking for something more satisfying.

Besides the fact that Yazan will serve with a very big smile throughout the meal, he also takes the opportunities to really guide you through the menu to make the best options. Even if you’re doubting if you like, for example the coriander Pisco, he convinces you and it did not dissapoint once! Highly recommend

A standout dining experience from start to finish. Moche delivers on every front—great service, stylish ambience, and truly exceptional food. The ceviche was an explosion of fresh, vibrant flavours, easily one of the best I’ve had. The coulant de dulce de leche was rich and indulgent, a perfect way to end the meal. Pisco sours were spot-on—well-balanced and properly made—and even the dessert wine was unexpectedly good. A memorable meal in a place that clearly cares about quality in every detail.

The food and cocktails were good but this was not authentic traditional peruvian food, the menu is not the same what show in the webpagina. Terrible service, forget things, not attetitive.

Great experience sitting out on their terrace on a sunny weekday evening. Food was excellent and fresh, flavors were delicious and exciting, and nothing was a miss. Looking forward to my next visit, definitely want to try more of their ceviches and the passion fruit pisco!

Had a great meal here last week! Ceviche was really fantastic. Has a real South American atmosphere and the service really takes the time to explain the dishes. What you definitely shouldn't miss are the cocktails. Very surprising flavors. All in all a must and when the weather is nice it's lovely to sit outside on the terrace.

Wow, what an experience to eat here. Started with a fantastic cocktail, which set the tone for what was to come. Presentation, explanation by the friendly staff and they are fully committed to the customer experience. The food is simply amazing. Pure, fine in taste and of high quality. We shared different dishes each course and were surprised every time by the skills of the kitchen. We selected a nice red wine to go with it and we were sold. We will go back soon, highly recommended if you are in Amsterdam.

unbelievable what a great atmosphere to have a special evening dining with such tasteful new flavors. Yes that is English ha ha but covers the load of something different than steak with fries. Just an outing! People who serve you with a real smile.

We arrived at Moche hungry and because the restaurant was a minute from our hotel, so we thought we were taking a risk trying out the local Peruvian! Not top of the list of cuisine for any of us. All five of us left full, and devotees of Peruvian food for life. Following the recommendations of the owner we took a few Ceviche starters. I'll say that if we were not so polite, some of the group would happily have licked the plates clean. Portions are not big, but somehow what we all had was very satisfying. This was followed by Padron peppers, and hot starters. Mains were duck with rise and their spiced chicken ... Every bite was delicious, without exception. Noone left hungry, and the final bill was more than reasonable. Bottom line, I would make a special visit to Oost to eat here again.

Had a lovely meal outside. Something different and that pleasantly surprised me (not Italian or French or Asian, a kitchen that you don't often encounter at this level). Special dishes made with fresh products. Don't forget the desserts. Drinks (cocktails) and wine list is versatile and service is spontaneous and competent. I really have nothing to complain about, that sounds like advertising but every now and then you are really positively surprised.

Moche is a cozy and qualitatively excellent Peruvian restaurant. Easy to reach just next to Oostpoort. I have been in Peru for a long time. Traveled a lot there and the recognition of the dishes at Moche was pleasant. Compliments for the delicious and beautiful dishes. See the photos on the site! And not to be missed a tasty pisco (drink). Anyone who has been to Peru or is going there, I recommend a visit to Moche. Hats off to the chef!!!

We were a group of 7 people and we all agreed that you can eat surprisingly well and drink cocktails here. The service is quick and the atmosphere is pleasant. Moche also has a reasonably large terrace and groups that want to sit more privately can also sit in the pleasant basement with a view of the kitchen. Definitely worth it.

Way too expensive, the portions are incredibly small, and guys, for the love of God, ceviches in Peru are not starters, they're a MAIN DISH! I know the chef is not even Peruvian but come on!! Show some respect for Peru. Jesus.

A friend and I decided to try Mocha after seeing it highly recommended in our neighborhood chat. As a big fan of ceviche — and having tried it in many places around the world — I was impressed by Mocha’s version. It was fresh, flavorful, and definitely a highlight of the evening. The scallops were fresh but spicy, which I didn’t expect :) Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the quality of the food. Our waitress seemed a bit inexperienced, unable to answer basic questions about the menu or wine, and forgot to bring the water we had asked for. We had originally planned to stay for more food and cocktails, but ultimately decided to move on to another spot. In short: the food is excellent, but the service needs improvement.

It is simply the best restaurant I ever been in Amsterdam. Food is great! All dishes were just fantastic and out of ordinary. I went with my family and everyone loved it. Can't wait to come back

The food was amazing and I would for sure come back for that. We had 3 ceviches, the chicken, duck, Peruvian drinks and dessert. With the ceviches being the highlight! But unfortunately, the staff seemed inexperienced. They forgot both our main dishes, so at some point we were only eating the sides without the main. When you are a big group, that is obviously not great. When paying they also forgot to deduct our prepayment, which was +€100 so not a small mistake.

Really really good experience. I have ordered two starters and one ceviche classic. The ceviche was mouth-watering, I could have eaten three, very tasty, great flavour. The starters were succulent, the taste of the croquettes pleasantly surprised me. And the calamari was delicious, the sauce on top was incredible. I also ordered two passion fruit mocktails.

Hugely disappointing experience. We had a reservation for 9:00 PM and placed our order by 9:15 PM. At 9:20 PM, we were informed that one of our chosen items was out of stock. Understandable, these things happen. We asked for a few minutes to pick an alternative. However, just five minutes later, at 9:25 PM, we were told the kitchen was closed and the chef had switched off the oven, so we couldn't order anything else. This was incredibly frustrating and poorly handled. Keep in mind that they actually take reservations until 9:15PM😂 To add to the disappointment, the food we did receive was distinctly average, and the cocktails were overly sweet. Given the service issues and mediocre quality, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Haven't felt so scammed in a long while: overpriced menu, overcrowded tables, and awful service. Ceviche was tasting good, though you get 10 little fish cubes for 23€. My main dish was grilled octopus, and it was only sauce and a single tentacle: no sides, no rice, no antyhing. It was brought together with the starters because of a mistake in the ordering system which couldn't be changed (the waiter realized the mistake while taking the order and couldn't change it). My friend's side was the cheapest fried potato-wedges, dry and shockingly out of place in a 35€ course. Duck was dry, although on some delicious rice. On top of it, the tables are so close that as the waiters did their job, I got several butt rubs on my back as I was eating. Lovely. And the bill was *steep*. Stay away ANSWER: None of my issues were addressable by a complaint. (1) a fully packed restaurant with 25cm between tables is an upfront choice which can't be fixed on the sport. (2) a "main dish" includes sides. If not, the waiters should warn about it. A single tentacle doens't consitute a "main dish", and when it's brought to the table it's too late (3) the dish was brought by mistake with the starters, even if the waiter made the mistake while taking the order. He said he'll fix it. How? The dish disappeared from the table, and I got a lukewarm tentacle 15 minutes after: likely it sat under an infrared lamp. What was I supposed to say then? (4) the other main dishes were also quite underwhelming. The fries that typically come with the Lomo were the cheapest wedges from the flash-frozen bag: dry inside and tasteless. There's a number of simultaneous issues that is too many, I have never wrote such a detailed negative review, but I wholeheartedly mean it.

Great Peruvian restaurant with a bit of fusion. Specially love their ceviches and tiraditos…fresh ingredients, amazing taste with a rich rainbow of flavours. Delicious cocktails with pisco. “Gezellige” interior and a fantastic terrace for those sunny days. The staff is very friendly, service is impeccable and a very friendly chef. Fully recommend it - I’m Peruvian with a very demanding taste 😉

The food was fantastic, but the service was mediocre for the price they ask. Also pay attention to the amount you pay, because they force you to pay a 15% tip without you knowing. Not customer friendly. You also get a smaller portion if you choose the 4-course dinner. Here and there they play dirty.

Attracted by the good reviews we went to Moche for our daughter's birthday. We had a table a bit in the back, but the front door was open so we kept our coats on to protect ourselves from the cold. Ordered still water, but we got sparkling water. Also ordered a cocktail, but it arrived later so we couldn't toast the birthday together. The cocktail was sour and too alcoholic. The draft beer was gone, oh no, not yet, oh yes it was. A bottle was held out to me, go ahead, it was a different brand than the first, turned out to be €2 more expensive. No table setting, eating with a spoon. When we asked for cutlery it was explained that in Peru you only eat with a spoon. The food was tasty, but too pretentious and the portions are meager. Despite a 4-course meal we didn't eat enough. The main course was lamb ribs for me and my wife. It was very fatty, no side dishes, except for a tiny little cup of corn. A lemon tart for dessert, it was very sour. It was nice that a star was brought for the birthday. To be honest, I don't understand the great reviews, the price-quality ratio is lacking at Moche

Great food, amazing drinks, it is a must. It is not a traditional Peruvian restaurant, but it doesn't change, they kept the Peruvian vibes and flavours.

An incredible place with equally amazing staff. We hosted our post-engagement dinner here, and all of our friends were blown away by the delicious food and drinks.

We had our wedding dinner at Moche and it was the best decision ever :) Enrique was very responsive and accomodating with our requests and all of the staff were very nice, polite and professional. The food and cocktails were super delicious, and so much! :) Recommended for sure!
