NAZKA in Nieuwe Pijp

One of my favorite places in Amsterdam. Sometimes food simply needs to be exquisite, not just interesting or sophisticated—and Nazca delivers on all fronts.

Outstandingly creative cuisine of the highest quality, attentive and incredibly friendly service, an excellent selection of drinks, a pleasant atmosphere – and absolutely reasonable prices. We were lucky enough to celebrate a birthday here and were surprised with a birthday cake and a handwritten card for dessert – everything was thoughtful and exceptional. The staff was so welcoming – we will definitely be back!

Good. High in acidity. Expected. Ceviche... but a bit too acidic with the chili in all dishes except dessert. The wine menu complemented the menu perfectly, except for the red wine with the monkfish. I would recommend a full-bodied white wine, but that's a matter of taste. The service was correct and friendly, but a bit too unpersonal and routine; there's room for laughter, people, it's a night out. Enjoying life is allowed. Even at work. The atmosphere was good overall. The food was good, but less than expected. At 318 euros for 2 people, it was a bit too much for what was offered. But hey: it's just an opinion; expensive doesn't exist.

Just left the restaurant. Conclusion: I left hungry… so please when you go: 1) don’t come there when you are hungry? 2) go with the expectation it’s more about the taste than the amout of food (in other words: small portions etc) I really think they should do bigger portions for the amount of money you pay. 2 stars cuz of the frustration with being hungry. If I was not: it would be a 4.7 out of 5.

Spending an evening at Nazka is a true experience. From the warm welcome to the moment of departure, your senses are stimulated and pampered. We begin with a delicious cocktail, prepared with fresh ingredients. We opted for a botanical accompaniment to the four-course menu, and what a great choice it turned out to be. With each course, all beautifully presented and truly otherworldly, we were served a plant-based drink. The combinations are surprising and truly high-quality, both in the food and drinks. Throughout the four courses, we received extremely friendly service, received extensive explanations about the culinary journey we were taking, and were occasionally, but not too often, asked if everything was to our liking. For anyone who wants to experience the wonders of Peruvian cuisine and enjoys a fine dining experience, Nazka is highly recommended. I will definitely be back!

Another lovely evening at Nazka. The team are warm and attentive, and they take great care with coeliac needs for my partner. Cooking remains consistently excellent, with refined presentation that makes each visit feel unique and memorable. This is the place we book first and ahead of every trip to Amsterdam. We enjoyed both ceviches, the best of our visits so far. Both were fresh with vibrant mouth watering flavours. The bavette was again cooked to perfection with a sauce we really enjoyed, and the pesca was fresh and satisfying as a generous main. Cocktails were well made, and the pacing of the meal felt just right. A night at Nazka is not to be missed.

Great to have a good level or Peruvian restaurant in Amsterdam. It was pricy but worth the food!

Definitely nothing on the menu was Peruvian. It's marketed as a Peruvian restaurant, but only the facade and some ingredients are from Peru; it's not real Peruvian food. Yes, it's gourmet, but even with that, it's not the taste of Peru. I'm not saying it has to be 100% the same, but there wasn't even a lomo saltado on the menu. So, in my opinion, it doesn't qualify as a Peruvian restaurant or for Peruvian flavors.

while im not a big fan of fine dining (more of a burger guy) the flavor pallette is something else, its a tasteful journey, an experience of a kind, strongly recommend trying it out

Nice restaurant and friendly staff but a bit too pricey

The food was really nice and the staff were kind. However, for a place that’s considered fine dining, there is room for improvement to meet that standard. We understand that weekends are usually busy, but despite having a reservation, our table was not ready when we arrived. We ordered the tasting menu, and one of the dishes took almost half hour to arrive. No one noticed the delay until we raised the issue. The staff handled it well once we pointed it out, which we appreciated, but unfortunately the overall vibe was already affected. There was also a mistake on the bill. We were charged for three espressos when we only had one. They corrected it, but altogether these experiences did not meet our expectations except dishes.

As the Dutch would say... superbly delicious! The food is amazing, the cocktails are exquisite! I have to say, one of the best ceviches I've ever tried, a 10/10 balance of flavors. 👏 The staff is helpful and attentive at all times. I definitely recommend it! My partner and I will be back!

Had the 4 dish tasting menu and ordered oysters and botanical drink pairing on top. Best botanical pairing ever. Went perfectly with the meal. The dishes were also very creative and flavors were on point. Somehow the chef makes it work with Indian. Southeast Asian, and Peruvian flavors. Incredible. Our favorite meal so far during our trip. Attentive and friendly servers. Definitely get the botanical pairing. We shared it and it was enough. We are thinking about coming back before we leave!

Loved the whole experience of the place from the decor, the staff, the ambience, the food and drinks. We got a tasting menu for 1 of us and then a mix of food for the other and shared everything so we got to experience a wide range of food. There's a lot of interesting tastes, textures and looks to every dish with some real Peruvian authenticity to it all.

Props to chef Koosh! Everything was beyond amazing, from the service to the ambiance and the amazing food. I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

had to wait for appr. 25min until our table was ready but cocktails on the house and charming waiters made up for it. a great, vibrant "casual fine dining" place.

It was super cozy and warm. The service was AMAZING. Very attentive and foreseen. Coat check available as well. Only „negative“ point to mention is that the bathroom is not easy to reach (very steep stairway)… Food was amazing as well. The fish was perfectly cooked as well as the vegetables and the sauces and dips were outstanding. Highly recommended: Yucas Bravas!

The service was one of the best in Amsterdam, very attentive, friendly and took note of my bday with a lovey card and dessert. Food is on the smaller portion side but expected for this type of establishment. Visually gorgeous and amazing taste.

It was very nice Peruvian experience.. We did not try Nazka tasting Menu; instead,we created our own tasting menu with almost everything in the menu. All was so delicious. I recommend definitely the oyster as starter and bavette as main course.. Patagonia wine was also perfect..

One of the best tasting menus I've had. They've elevated Peruvian cuisine to the next level. Paired with the freshest produce and seafood the Netherlands has to offer, Nazka has created a culinary experience like no other in the city. Edit (Update as of August 2025) Visited for the third time, this time a menu by Chef Koosh Nazka has never failed to wow me, each time i go back it exceeds my expectations. Chef koosh's influence on the cuisine has elevated it to a new level. The suble flavors bring a feeling of nostalgia. You start to pinpoint the flavours you taste, but the feeling is fleeting - which for me made the experience far more profound. (I haven't ever written such a passionate review until now) As always, I'll find a way to return to Amsterdam, just for a few hours to make a pitstop at Nazka, which is undoubtedly, for me, is the best restaurant on Earth.

Then choose between a 4 course tasting menu or go à la carte. Honestly, the best move is to come with friends and share as much as possible, because here, every dish deserves a try. Highlights? The ceviche of raw seabream with grilled strawberries and leche de tigre—a true masterpiece, as beautiful as it is delicious. The strawberries bring a subtle, unexpected freshness that makes this dish perfect for summer. The tuna tartare with oyster sauce is another standout: refined, delicate, and full of depth. For mains, the tataki was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had, while the Black Angus bavette cooked on the BBQ had that smoky perfection only a chef with experience at Central in Lima could deliver. Dessert? A decadent Peruvian dark chocolate creation, rich and elegant to close the night on a high note. The wine list is impressive, with a strong focus on South American labels that pair beautifully with the menu. Prices are fair for the level of quality and creativity. In short: whether it’s your first dive into Peruvian cuisine, or you’re looking for something bold, refined, and downright delicious, Nazka is a must-try in Amsterdam! Definitely a contender of best restaurant in Amsterdam. The flavours really wows you, super well balanced, and the presentation is beautiful. The service is also super good, very attentive and kind! Can't wait to go back!

The food was decent, but that's about it. A lukewarm fish fillet with sauce was the main course, though nicely presented. No side dishes like vegetables. Two dishes were way too salty. One dish wasn't salty enough. The ceviche was nicely presented, but the taste wasn't anything special. The service and atmosphere were okay, nothing wrong with it, but nothing special. The price-quality ratio is out of whack; for €100 per person, there are better options.

We were here for the second time during the Croatian wine pairing event. I can’t speak highly enough about the quality of the food & the service. I have some hearing difficulties, but the acoustics in this restaurant were good. I was able to enjoy an easy conversation with my partner without any trouble. Great value for money. Would highly recommend. And I’ll say it again: absolutely great service :-)

Amazing flavors and great service 👌👌

FINALLY had dinner here with a friend (she had been before). The welcome was excellent. I was asked to hang up my coat/bag. I was politely shown to the table. There was a cocktail and tasting menu, and there's also an a la carte menu. Everything looked great. As an extra option, we chose a canapé. Before dinner, a holder with cards was placed... each card told the story of the ingredients and origins of each dish. She placed a matching card with each dish, a nice touch. The canapé was lychee with coconut and tiger's milk curry, a delicious start to the menu. Next came a house dish: pani puri, always delicious! With each dish, the waiter explained what it was and how best to eat it. Next came the dish I'd been looking forward to for so long: ceviche. It had grilled strawberries, among other things. Man, oh man, in my opinion, the best ceviche I've ever had. Simply perfection!!!! The flavors blend so beautifully, and the fish is tender and cooked, not tough like in many restaurants. Next, we had a potato milfouille with a colorful sauce. Beautifully thin potato slices topped with a slightly spicy, sweet sauce. It was a replica of the Vinicunca mountain in Peru. Very nicely done and very flavorful. Next, we had perfectly cooked fish with peas and crispy tapioca, and a green sauce that transported us to India. This dish threw me off my game a bit, as I was already used to all those Peruvian flavor explosions, and suddenly something Indian. Haha, it was quite delicious, no doubt about it. The finale: a chocolate ganache with olive oil, salt, sesame crackers, and something else. I wouldn't have thought of olive oil with chocolate, but it works. We enjoyed the food, the service, and the improved Pisco Sour!

Easily one of the overall best restaurant experiences we've had. Attentive and precise service, from a knowledge and friendly service team. Peruvian fusion, interesting combinations and flavors. Be sure to try the ceviche - and pairs well with their list of different pisco cocktails.

Probably my favourite restaurant in Amsterdam. Love the food, love the drinks (I dream about those Psico Sours frequently) and love the staff, the nicest and kindest. Just 10 out of 10. Since the first time I went I have recommend it to people and those who have gone have added it to their favourites in Amsterdam as well.

Awesome food and fantastic servers at a nice quiet place away from the hustle and hustle of Amsterdam. My friend ordered the tasting menu and I didn't. We both lived wgat we ordered. The chef has done a great job of creating fusion dishes incorporating his birthplace, India, and where he grew up and learned cooking, Peru. While it may not be a michelin rated restaurant, it will soon be or at least in my mind it is.

Confident, beautifully executed cooking. Enjoyable simplicity and lightness. Good wine pairing. Fantastic cocktails- I recommend the one with strawberry, mescal and rocoto pepper. Great service. I recommend as a special treat with loved ones.

We recently had the pleasure of dining with a business friend from China at our favorite restaurant, Nazak, in Amsterdam. It was a moment of friendship, celebrated with the refined flavors of Peruvian cuisine. Nazak remains an absolute favorite for us: a true explosion of flavors, beautifully balanced compositions, and surprising influences from Japanese, Spanish, and African cuisine. Every dish demonstrates passion and craftsmanship, prepared with attention to detail and love. The service is attentive, professional, and international, which contributes to the feeling of being abroad, right in the heart of Amsterdam. As the icing on the cake, we enjoyed a fantastic 2002 Spanish Douro wine. In short: Nazak is a culinary experience you won't soon forget. Highly recommended for a special moment. We will definitely be back.

A very surprising 4-course menu with matching wines. A fusion kitchen with super tasty combinations in the food but also in combination with the wines. The individual dishes and wines were so different, but in combination with each other so perfectly in harmony. I have been eating and cooking as a professional for a long time, but last night was really special for me at Nazka. Really, so many compliments for all of you, super involved staff, and also Bart, from Wine and Roses, super combination of wines with the dishes....

4.5* The food was really good! I loved the peruvian and Indian influences. But if I am being nitpicking, I found the water and the botanical pairing expensive. The botanical pairing was just glorified mango juice ( mazaa) for 9€ and that felt ridiculous. On the other hand, I tried oysters for the first time and it was a really good experience. We had both the kinds of oysters.

A hidden gem where your taste buds get a VIP treatment! Every plate looks like it belongs in an art gallery, and tastes even better. The food is made with heart, the staff are genuinely lovely, and the whole place just makes you want to stay longer. 100% recommend. I’ll definitely be back for more!

fantastic experience! it was our first time with the Peruvian cusine, but it was simply amazing! you'll feel with your combinations of different cusines and flavors even with your first bite. also tried several cocktails and mocktails, and can offer anything they have in the menu. will definitely come here with a bigger group to have our 2nd round, as it's suitable for every kind of occassion.

The food exceeded all our expectations! The dishes are not only aesthetically beautiful, they are also delicious but above all they tell a story. The Indian influence marries perfectly with a high-level Peruvian cuisine. Compliments to the chef! The atmosphere is young, modern and colorful! Unfortunately there were some small flaws in the service, even if the guys tried to fix the mistakes during the dinner. Apart from this small flaw, an absolutely perfect experience! Incredible food and service - can’t stop thinking about the bavette and ceviche. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a nice smoky flavor to it. We shared one order of the tasting menu and the bavette which was the perfect amount given we weren’t too hungry. We were celebrating a birthday and they were so kind to hand write a little note. Definitely recommend!

Highly recommended. An incredible experience. The customer service is 10/10, they explain each dish in detail. The staff is delightful. I ordered six oysters with aji amarillo foam that were finger-licking good. The strawberry ceviche pleasantly surprised me; I never had a strawberry ceviche before, and it was delicious. And for my main course, I ordered 300g of black angus steak with chimichurri, which was rare, just the way I like it. I really enjoyed the dish. In short, a sublime experience.

It was a most wonderful experience. The food and the service were outstanding. I loved how every course was presented, highlighting both the craftsmanship and care that went into creating them – and the taste was really exceptional. Both the botanical and the wine pairing were also delightful, emphasising and adding to the food. Also, the amount of wine was unexpectedly generous. Usually the glasses are filled less enthusiastically in these kind of places. But that is a plus in my book. :) I would have loved it even more, if the place had been less crowded or the tables spaced somewhat wider, but that did not lessen the experience in a meaningful way.

High end Peruvian restaurant with Indian influences. Personally I was very impressed by the flavours of it all. We started with an Indian Amuse, Pani Puri with a kind of fruit jam, it was very delicious. We took the 4 course meal. The first course was my favourite, the ceviche was out of this world as all the flavours blended super well. The second course was a layered potato dish clearly inspired by the Peruvian Causa a la limeña. The third course was a delicious piece of fresh fish while the dessert was a pumpkin inspired sweet. The first 2 courses definitely stole the show for me as I could taste Peru in it, a place I have personally visited. The only complaint I have in this regard was the small portion size. This restaurant clearly thought they were serving a 10 course meal as these 4 courses were not even enough to fill someone up for lunch, except for the ceviche, each dish was like 3 bites. It's that the flavours were this good, if not I would have probably given this place 4 stars just for this. My father decided to go a la carte, we ordered some oysters which were quite nice and a delicious steak. The portion of meat was huge and the steak was super tender and delicious, they use bavette which is an underrated but delicious cut. What really surprised me in this restaurant is the wine. They have a huge wine list and sell wines at prices that are cheaper than a standard restaurant, you can get a bottle for under 30 and a glass for 5. The wines come from over 20 different countries, so there is plenty of variety. The staff working here were very attentive, professional and friendly. Special thanks to the sommelier for being so friendly and letting us try many different wines before choosing one. The interior of the restaurant is a cool mix of classic and modern, while having a few on one of the busiest streets in de pijp. Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant and loved the flavours, they can work on their portion size but that's typical for fine dining, thus forgiven. I highly recommend checking them out

Just had an incredible dinner at Nazka. The food was absolutely amazing every dish packed with flavor. I had the bavette steak, which was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender. We also tried two different ceviches, and both were fresh, vibrant, and bursting with taste. The balance of flavors and presentation really stood out. Highly recommend this spot if you’re into bold, delicious Peruvian-inspired cuisine!

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Amsterdam. I’ve been to Nazka four times already, and every single time it’s been a truly special experience. The chef, Koosh Kothari, brings his Peruvian and Indian roots into each dish with such elegance and creativity—it’s fine dining at its best. The flavors are deep, balanced, and exciting, but what really takes it to another level is how visually stunning the plates are. The colors, the composition… they honestly look like little masterpieces. Inspiring. The wine pairing is always on point. Alessandro Tondini, the sommelier, does a brilliant job with his selections—every glass he serves just fits perfectly with what’s on the plate. On top of that, the whole team is incredibly professional and welcoming. The vibe is always warm, the service impeccable. The space itself is beautiful too. Stylish and thoughtfully designed, without being over the top. Yes, it’s on the pricier side—around 150 euros per person—but it’s more than worth it for the quality you get. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they get a Michelin star soon. Go now, before it becomes impossible to book.

If you want to spend a lot for really tasty food, you shouldn't go here. Too expensive for what you get. Left with a bad feeling. Fusion restaurant not a Peruvian restaurant, it is an insult for someone from Peru to eat here

Delicious food with good matching wines

Nazka is a great restaurant with delicious Peruvian food. Every dish is tasty and well-made. The atmosphere is cozy and nice, and the service is excellent—friendly and fast. I highly recommend it!

This place was an astonishment. Every single dish was absolutely amazing and you could just tell the amount of care and thought that went behind each one. The standout dishes for me were the ceviche and the two Mole dishes. The waitress was professional and kind. While a little pricey, the quality of the food really makes it worth it and a must visit.

We were there for dinner for the second time and had another lovely evening. Food and service is excellent. Recommendation to start with a cocktail that is excellent.

Tanta atención al detalle, servicio increíble, tarjetas en la mesa que describen la inspiración para cada curso (un gran toque) , y la comida era locamente buena. Fue un brebaje de aguacate y mango y un montón de hierbas y sabores vibrantes, empacados en una bola delgada y crujiente que nos dieron instrucciones de comer todos a la vez. Vaya. Fue una explosión sensorial en tu boca que no olvidaré pronto, y absolutamente deliciosa. Todo estaba delicioso, incluyendo el cóctel agrio de pisco y bebidas de maridaje de hierbas. Solo 10 de cada 10 de principio a fin, lo que no he experimentado en mucho tiempo. Mi amigo encontró este restaurante en la Guía Michelin, y no decepcionó. Excepcional.

I have really enjoyed dinner at NAZKA. Flavors were explosive and unexpected. Drinks were also perfectly paired. I will for sure go back! The sommelier is extremely experienced and all the staff is prepared and very professional.

Beautiful experience! Attentive staff, great vibe and the most delicious food! We were there simultaneously with a couple of new years eve gatherings that were quite loud and made it difficult to have a conversation. Such an incredible experience! I’ve lived and eaten all over the world and these flavors were unique and delicious. I don’t think I left a drop on any plate! Pani puri starter was an explosion of taste, and the dessert with mazamorra was the perfect amount of sweet. Tons of incredible textures. Service was amazing and the team was super personable and lively. They made me a custom spicy mezcal cocktail as well. It was a really good value for what I paid (4 course Nazka menu). I would totally make this a regular spot if I lived in the city. Can’t wait to come back one day!

I’ve been to Nazka twice and cannot wait to go back. The menu and flavor combinations are unbelievably creative. The wine pairings are surprising and unexpected. This place is a star among the culinary scene in Amsterdam.

We had 6 course Nazka menu, it was a very nice culinary experience 😍 Maybe one meat dish could be added but that is just my personal preferance. The only negative feedback is the design of sink and tap which is very inconveniet to wash hands.

The staff is personal, sincere, and dedicated, coming from true passion and talent. The botanicals and cocktails were pure alchemy, with the mezcal passionfruit standing out as the best I’ve ever had! Simply fantastic. I loved the authentic Peruvian cuisine and everything from the oysters to the squash was fantastic. The staff are knowledgeable and the wine list is fantastic. At this place it's also a good idea to order a lot of things because each one has a nice surprise waiting like flavor and presentation. If you're in Amsterdam try this one out for sure!

Fantastic food, service with many gluten free options. They have a few different menus available and they continually serve the food as you finish the prior one. The service was great!

We had mixed feelings after eating at this restaurant. The first few dishes in particular were really amazingly good, but after that it just got stuck in more of the same and we were no longer really surprised. The acoustics in this restaurant were not really good. The fact that there was a music box hanging above our table, which played loud music all evening, didn't help either. This made it very difficult for us to understand each other and the staff who came to explain the dishes were also difficult to understand and understand. Speaking of the service, we found it businesslike, correct and distant. That was also because we had at least 6 or 7 different table service. This means you don't build a bond or anything personal with the service, and the fact that they only spoke English or Spanish didn't help either. The woman who received us was wonderful, unfortunately we only saw her again when we came to collect our coats at the end of the evening. We also thought it was expensive, with his 4th child we spent €540! Many wines from €100+, €200+, €300+ and even €400, it was really hard to find something affordable. So all in all not a good price-quality ratio. Yes, there were really beautiful and good dishes!! But we still left with mixed feelings.

Had a great evening. Frindley reception in a nicely decorated Hal Comfortable seating in a pleasant ambiance. Knowledgeable waiters. Started with cocktails, had the four course menu, it retrospect would have chosen the six course option. Beautifully presented food with rich taste, one of the fish dishes had a bit tougher fish. Conclusion - highly recommended.

We had dinner at Nazca this evening. Both the food and the service were great! The pisco sour and their other cocktails were very good. The bartender made an agave margarita and a tequila old-fashioned, on request, and we really enjoyed them. The food was bursting with different flavors and was so delicious. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for some very good Peruvian-flavored food with decent wines and great cocktails to go along with it. The ambiance and decor of the place were very chic and artistic. The overall experience was great!

Overall very rich experience of flavors. The sea bream ceviche was a standout. Corvina - the main course - was underwhelming.
