Catch by Simonis in Wijk 07 Scheveningen

Hoewel ik er al vaak over had gehoord, was het er nog nooit van gekomen om bij Catch te gaan eten. Hoog tijd dus om dat eens recht te zetten, en wat ben ik blij dat ik dat gedaan heb. Het was een geweldige avond waarin mijn verwachtingen ruimschoots werden overtroffen. Ik kan me niet herinneren wanneer ik voor het laatst zó genoten heb van sushi. We zaten op de bovenste ring en werden fantastisch geholpen door een zeer attente en vriendelijke gastheer. Helaas ben ik zijn naam vergeten, maar het ging om een wat oudere heer die de bovenverdieping bediende, complimenten voor zijn warme ontvangst, deskundig advies en aanstekelijke glimlach. Wat een verademing om te zien dat gastvrijheid en kwaliteit nog zo mooi samen kunnen gaan.

Kom hier al vanaf het begin en vond de prijs/kwaliteit altijd prima, zit ook op een leuke plek en is echt vanaf het begin een aanwinst geweest in Scheveningen. Maar nu, na ontvangt van de rekening, schrok ik me dood, bijna 10,00 euro voor een flesje bruiswater en ze zijn niet de enigen, die het nodig vinden om de prijzen vanaf 1 januari te verhogen. Een advies, verlaag deze prijzen, anders zie ik het somber in voor oa Catch

I found the food almost overwhelming, so tasty and fresh, and at the right temperature! I also found it cozy with the lights reflecting in the glasses, and the chairs were comfortable. The people looked friendly, and the service was caring, enthusiastic, and informal. This gave the evening, which was full of anticipation, a veil of relaxation. I can really appreciate the latter with a sensitive psyche. It was a beautiful evening, and the price and quality is in a good relationship. Insh'Allah until next time! Tip: Insert a tea card

We are Japanese, and the salmon sushi satisfied us in quality (fish freshness), taste and presentation. Our kid liked the bongole and crab pasta as well.

This is the most elegant restaurant in the heart of Scheveningen in The Hague, with highly qualified staff, beautiful cutlery and a chic atmosphere. Catch by Simonis is our favorite seafood restaurant!!!! The service attitude was very poor. I was very sorry when I ordered food as soon as I entered the door. The waiter who served us was very poor both in ordering and serving food. If I could go to the Netherlands again, I would not come again.

Another delicious meal, but the portions are becoming smaller over the years. Service is top notch, the atmosphere is pleasant.

We are foreign guests and do not speak English very well. However, a waiter was not very friendly and ordered a lobster platter. When we asked how to eat the claws, the waiter actually broke the claws with his bare hands. Putting aside hygiene issues, is this the level of hospitality expected of a high-end restaurant?

We hadden ons verheugd op een etentje bij Catch by Simonis in Scheveningen. Het restaurant stond al een tijdje op onze lijst, en de locatie en ambiance beloofden veel goeds. Bij aankomst werden we hartelijk ontvangen door het vriendelijke personeel. Onze zoon, die geen vis eet, koos voor de hamburgers, die er op het oog aantrekkelijk en smakelijk uitzagen. Helaas ging het bij het uitserveren al mis: een van de hamburgers viel op de tafel. Omdat we de avond niet wilden verpesten, gaven we aan dat het geen probleem was, het meisje deed het niet expres. Op dat moment leek alles in orde. Tot onze teleurstelling verliep de avond anders dan gehoopt. Eenmaal thuis werd onze zoon ziek. Hij moest meerdere keren overgeven, wat ons zorgen baarde. De ervaring voelde ineens minder feestelijk. Direct heb ik het restaurant per mail op de hoogte gebracht over de situatie en gevraagd of ze konden onderzoeken wat er mis zou kunnen zijn met de hamburgers. De reactie was vriendelijk, als tegemoetkoming werd ons een drankje aangeboden bij een volgend bezoek. Hoewel het gebaar op prijs werd gesteld, vond ik dit niet passend en in verhouding. Daarom heb ik het aanbod vriendelijk afgewezen. Het is jammer dat een avond waar we zo naar hadden uitgekeken op deze manier eindigde. De service was echt vriendelijk, maar de afhandeling van de melding had iets serieuzer en doortastender gekund. Hopelijk is dit een incident en wordt er kritisch gekeken naar eventuele verbeteringen in de keuken en het serviceniveau.

Fine but pricey restaurant. The food was tasty but actually had higher expectations. The restaurant is located in the harbor of Scheveningen. You can park here for a fee in the parking garage or on the quay of the port. All in all, I would give the restaurant a 7.

First time here, great experience. Beautiful Restaurant it really left an impression on me. We had a delicious meal here. We had various dishes on the table from sushi to pasta and delicious fruit de mer, the hot and cold variant. Cocktails are delicious here and there is a wide choice of other (non)alcoholic drinks. Staff were very friendly and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

This was my first time here and it did not disappoint. We were seated top floor and served by Hubert, who helped us put together a great tasteful meal and a successful date night with my fiancé. We had the small bisque, which is not on the menu but great to have while bringing in some starters like their salmon sushi roll. They have a great selection of wines, with a surprising amount of wines you can order per glass. As mains we ordered the warm seafruit dish with an extra half lobster. This restaurant is ideal for sharing your dinner, while keeping right sized portions and maintaining quality. As desert we tried their new Dubai lava cake which I highly recommend. But really, the difference for us was how we were taken care of and the eye for our needs - this is what I want to experience when I have a well deserved night out.

Went to eat with a group. In itself it was tasty, unfortunately the food was a bit too expensive for what you get. The quantity, quality and taste were not what I would expect for the prices and without side dishes. I personally had the salmon with pistachio as a main course. The service at the table also did not go smoothly. 1 person in the group only got his starter when the rest were almost ready.

Really good. Very satisfied with everything. And it seems that we have to complain: we sat on the closed and covered terrace. It was probably quite chilly when a door opened somewhere. But hey, it's winter!

Amazing food and luve music. Great quality food..spent whole afternoon with close friends and family.

The chimney fire today meant that we were no longer served main courses. We were asked to pay and leave the restaurant through the side door. Logical because the fire brigade was working with an aerial platform and all. However, as a regular guest I missed any gesture of service. Shame about this experience!!

Each dish was flavorful, well-presented, and made with fresh ingredients. I especially loved CATCH OF THE DAY (at the time it was sea ​​bream with asparagus), which was cooked to perfection. The menu offered a nice variety of options. The wine card was also fantastic, with a great selection of wines that paired well with the dishes. However, there were a couple of minor things that could have been improved. The wait time for our food was a bit longer than expected, and there were a few small details in the service that could be more polished, such as refilling drinks a bit more promptly. Despite these small drawbacks, the overall experience was very satisfying. The quality of the food and the pleasant ambiance made it a memorable meal, and I would definitely return. I’d rate this restaurant 4 out of 5 – it’s almost perfect, with just a few minor improvements needed to make it a 5-star experience.

We were in shock how catch has gone worse on their customer service. We went to have lunch on sunday noon and because of live music we wanted to sit in the place where it was not too loud music. We enter the place and the waiter was annoyed with us as he had to serve us as there was noone before we entered the terrace. The girl who guided to the terrace and the waiter were saying to each other how unfortunate it was that they had to serve us and why we didn't sit in the other floor. They just didn't expect that we clearly understand dutch. Sad how they treated us. I have been many times to catch but this has been my worse experience. Never going back again. For the 200 euro you spend for 3 people the service is horrible. The place was dirty and was stinky. May be the terrace is not used much so felt that way. Not going back again.

I love the food and the lovely environment. It is wheelchair accessible. We keep coming back.

Very tasty dishes and good service, very nice to eat here, this is definitely a place where we will come back more often. We haven't tried all the dishes yet, but I can definitely recommend the salmon tartare (the rest too)

Delicious food. Excellent quality, plenty and friendly staff! We recently had lunch there on Sunday with live music. That was also of a high standard!

Paar jaar geleden encore van simonis gedaan en vonden we wel leuk. Nu eigenlijk verkeerd gereserveerd. Druk, chaotisch onthaal. Veel lawaai en in een klein hoekje terechtgekomen. Vis, tonijn en tarbot hadden weinig smaak en de frieten waren veel te lang gebakken. Voor deze prijzen verwacht je meer. Pluspunt de zeer vriendelijk over met halflange blonde haren. Vrolijke vriendelijke man!

Had dinner at Catch with friends. The starters were fine. The main course of one of us (turbot) turned out to be partly raw. Which may have led to several late-night excursions to the bathroom. The service was very good and attentive. We sat directly under a loudspeaker, which made it difficult for us to hear each other. When we asked to turn the music down a little, we were told that this was part of the appearance of the restaurant. Certainly not a repeat of 'Catch by Simonis' for us.

This is the best restaurant ever. Whenever someone else offers me dinner, I choose this place. Fantastic! (Unfortunately a bit expensive, so treat yourself)

The cuisine is excellent, but the service is “Dutch”, the waiter was polite, but everything took a very long time, we waited and waited... 🙃 We booked a table in advance, asked by the window, and were seated in the center of the hall..

Super lekker gegeten: sushi, calamares en gyoza. De Sauvignon blanc was ook goed van smaak. Muziek kan zachter en de verlichting sterker. De menumap is belachelijk groot, zwaar en stinkt. Ruilen voor een meer handzaam exemplaar dat goed schoon te maken is.

We sat outside for lunch on an exceptionally warm day at the end of October. As requested we were given a table with a spectacular view of the harbour. The food presentation and taste were top notch! The service was beter than excellent! We were so glad we took the waiter’s advice and tried the fresh and grilled oysters as pre-starters! It was quality time all round!!

The interior was very chic. The service was good but the servers could be more attentive, given the fully packed restaurant though, it is kinda normal that the servers sometimes miss things. The desserts were phenomenal, the lava cake and crème brûlée were amazing. The wine recommendation by the server was fantastic.

This restaurant has an attractive view of the marina. We enjoyed some traditional fresh fish dishes, including oysters. The service we received was excellent.

Straight from the sea, via the Scheveningen harbor onto your plate at Catch by Simonis. What delicious oysters, never tasted so good before. The quality is of an extremely high level with delicious wine. It is also a nice place to spend a Saturday afternoon. My advice is not to postpone but to go straight away. Highly recommended in Schevingen

Ate here with my husband. Cozy atmosphere, we were shown to our table (which was very nice). The dishes we ordered were very tasty, I can recommend the Peking duck.

As usual the food and wine were superb!. The only downside is that the tables were way too close together. This gives this restaurant a gluttonous idea and it doesn't really come into its own. Certainly not for the prices you have to/want to pay.

Great place for a delicious fish, but non-fish lovers also have choices... the only downside is the overly large cards and large in physical size. A quarter of it in size is enough.

This afternoon I had a capuccino and my friend a fresh mint tea. We were charged 10 euros, for a medium-size cup of coffee and a small cup of boiling water ...... perhaps they think here they are in Paris or London??? Honestly, it is just Scheveningen. A rip-off :-(

Nice location on the harbour, we had a table overlooking the yacht harbour. Lobster bisque and Sea Bass cevice was very nice, as was the smoked seafood pate served with the bread. Warm Fruit de Mer as main, really nice. We will be back! Fairly priced.

Still a favorite after years. Fresh fish, sushi, oysters, everything is delicious. In the summer you can sit on the large terrace at the marina.

Been several times. But unfortunately the quality of The Catch by Simone's is no longer what it once was. This time the experience was disappointing, despite it being quiet. The fruits de mer was not fresh, the cod seemed frozen and had been fried for too long. The fries were old and re-fried, making them rock hard, and the shrimp were mealy. The wine was good and the service was also fine.

Étape obligée lors de nos séjours à Scheveningen (La Haye, Pays-bas). Restaurant pouvant s'apparenter à une brasserie haut de gamme en France (au moins 50€ à 70€/personne). Prédominance des produits de la mer très frais. Cadre très ouvert et personnel aimable.

The service was amazing!! The food mediocre. We had the king crab sushi roll. It was fishy tasting which anyone who has had fresh fish knows it shouldn’t taste fishy at all. We were going to send it back but my daughter just said let it go. We also had the Asian ribs and fries. The ribs were tough and chewy tasted like they were coated in Chinese five spice. The fries were about 5th place compared to the other fries we’ve eaten. We did order a $110. Bottle of wine which was excellent however afterwards we did the math and it would’ve been cheaper to buy it by the glass. If I lived in the area I would not go back. Paying $26 for the same roll I can get at Susie Qs right next door for $16, just isn’t worth it. When Susie Qs was delicious!! Tipping is not customary so we watched and noted we were the only ones who had tipped our waiter, he didn’t even say thank you or seem to appreciate the tip which was shocking to us. We are here for a week and within five minutes walk however we wont be back, prices are high, atmosphere is wonderful unless your backs to the Harbor like ours was, and fancier attire is expected.

It is a place that tucks in at the end of the street. From outside, you may wonder if you were on the right way, but once you reach the front door, the sound from the crowds and the lights of the fireplace all tell you that this a happening place.

Top tent...top food...great ambiance. Not really cheap (read: quite pricey), but worth the money.

Thus is the place to be for Sunday lunch especially when there are tribute singers. We celebrated a birthday today and tge singers and staff made it special.

Been here a while ago with family. We were kindly welcomed and shown to our table. Some of the dishes we ordered were delicious, like the lobster soup! Highly recommended! The lobster and soup are served separately. Very nice to see. Furthermore, the other dishes were tasty, but not very special. I think the tuna steak was delicious, but unfortunately not in combination with the sweet eggplant.

The food is average, prices too high and the decors, staff and other patrons somewhat tacky. The food is not bad, it’s just basic. Most of the menu consists of raw or fried fish that you can get down the street for a fraction of the price. It’s not a bad choice for a nice dinner by the harbor if you’re ok paying more than it’s worth. We had the lobster.

Not recommended if you want to eat here outside on the terrace, you will get dirty cigarette smoke in your face from neighbors. You are also very close to each other. It's really unusual these days that the terrace is not smoke-free or at least partially smoke-free. Host puts us in a spot and says no one smokes here now, but it is not smoke free, what good is that?

Not cheap, but everything tastes delicious. Of course you come here to eat the harvest of the sea!

Wonderfully quiet and beautiful location. Service is very attentive and hospitable and they come by regularly to check whether everything is to your liking. The food was excellent and very large portions. Well flavored and prepared with care. Excellent quality. You pay a little more for it, but it is well worth it. Highly recommended!

Yesterday we had delicious sushi outside, with a view of the harbor. Soft lounge music in the background. Service is very attentive and helpful. All dishes are beautifully prepared and taste excellent. My only consideration for not giving 5 stars overall is the high prices. A glass of Pino Grigio costs 11 euros, while I just paid 6.50 euros on the beach in Scheveningen. And this one tasted just as good!!
