Beautiful seafood restaurant with excellent service and amazing quality food. Atmospheric decor, indoor and outdoor seating, and a lovely view of the harbor. Prices are high, though. Main courses from €35, starters from €20, sushi rolls from €25, and desserts from €15. But definitely worth a visit!

We booked it for our anniversary because of a tip. We had the vig salad, ceviche, Dorade and salmon sushi roll. Vig salad was great. Ceviche not very special. Dorade delicious and sushi also great. Sushi was discounted for 12,5 euro. We had a lovely lady waiter but some people working there looked like they could kill someone. Doesnt hurt to smile sometimes and have people feel welcomed.

We usually enjoy going there. The food was delicious as always. However, we weren't satisfied with the staff today. They were inattentive! It felt like we were bothering them! What a shame ☹️

We visited on June 23, 2026. It's a good restaurant with delicious food, though not always healthy. The prices are quite reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber for the Netherlands. This chain has another restaurant in the area, a different category, and more affordable.

We went to Catch by Simonis with friends on a Saturday evening and had a truly perfect time. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome and were shown to a beautiful table overlooking the marina and the water – a truly magical atmosphere, especially in the evening. The service was first-class: Our waiter was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and courteous without being intrusive. We felt welcome and perfectly at ease from the very first moment. The food was simply outstanding. The bouillabaisse, in particular, was an absolute highlight – fantastic in flavor and perfectly prepared. But all the other dishes at our table were also excellent. The wine recommendation was superb and complemented the menu perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening from beginning to end. The combination of excellent food, outstanding service, great ambiance, and the stunning view of the harbor makes this restaurant truly special. We wholeheartedly recommend Catch by Simonis and are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

The service was fine, but not particularly attentive. It often took a long time for empty glasses to be cleared and for us to be asked if we wanted another drink. The soles were very dry and therefore disappointing. Additionally, I find the price-quality ratio unbalanced; you are mainly paying for the name. Unfortunately, in my opinion, Catch by Simonis is no longer as good as it used to be.

Everything was perfect once again, with the added bonus of a solid 10 for Eric, who served us perfectly.

Had delicious, buttery-soft fish; the food is top-notch. The service was also attentive and friendly. Perhaps a tad on the expensive side for what is offered, and a simple bottle of mineral water is obviously not worth 9 euros. The acoustics are terrible, making it a noisy henhouse; the location is nice for groups but less suitable for an intimate romantic dinner. It also seemed as if the bass knob in the background music was turned up a bit too high, causing it to overpower the music, but that is a minor and perhaps personal issue.

The grilled fish dishes, along with the bread and butter served alongside, are delicious.

We dined here yesterday for a birthday and enjoyed the food and the service. Beautiful location at the harbor in Scheveningen with a lovely view over the water. We started with carpaccio and prawns in garlic oil: everything was fresh and flavorful. After that, we ordered a sushi roll as an intermediate course, which was fortunately still available and arrived quickly. For the main course, we had the tuna, beautifully prepared with a special salad on the side. The wine list is also extensive and good. Compliments to the staff, especially Puck: friendly, attentive, and professional. Points for improvement: We had indicated during the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Because we did not order dessert, it unfortunately turned out not to be possible to do something about that at another time. Understandable perhaps, but still a bit of a shame. Upstairs, you sit very close together and can hear other conversations clearly. The lady next to us was served lobster that was opened with tongs; that didn't go quite right, causing all sorts of things to fly our way. Of course, she can't help that, but due to the limited space, it still felt a bit unpleasant. Additionally, the ambiance sometimes feels a bit off-balance with the prices: cloth napkins but simple wooden chopsticks for 6 pieces of sushi costing €30. Otherwise, we had a lovely evening. Highly recommended for lovers of fresh fish! We will definitely be back.

These were the tastiest oysters I have ever eaten (chef's oysters). As for the sushi: the presentation was top-notch, as was the garnish. But for the prices charged for sushi, I really expect fresh sushi rice that is served (as it should be) at 37 degrees. This rice had been prepared earlier and was really ice-cold because it had been in the fridge, which is a shame, also for the taste. I enjoyed eating here once, but due to the disappointing sushi, I will only return for oysters at most.

We ended up visiting this place because Simonis Kitchen was already closed, and it turned out to be such a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, just as you would expect from a Michelin-recognized place. Since we had our dog with us, we sat outside on the terrace and the view was absolutely beautiful. The service really stood out. The staff kept checking if we were warm enough, kindly offered water for our dog, and made sure both my child and I were comfortable and enjoying our food. One of the staff members was especially lovely, I’m sorry I forgot your name, but your kindness made a big impression on us. Because of this experience, my impression of The Hague and the Netherlands became even more positive. Everyone was so kind, spoke great English, and carried themselves with such charm. It really made me wonder what kind of environment creates such wonderful people. Simonis restaurants are all great, but this "Catch by Simonis" place is somewhere I will definitely come back to again.

Catch in Scheveningen markets itself as a high-end restaurant through hype, the menu, and the ambiance. The prices reflect this, which in principle is not a problem; good service and quality are allowed to cost money. However, the execution falls short on crucial points. It starts right at the entrance: the stairs to the first floor were littered with food scraps, breadcrumbs, and flattened fries. The menus were also downright filthy and sticky. This is absolutely not how it should be. Upon arrival, the chef was still eating at the table where we were supposed to be seated. They quickly got up to continue elsewhere, leaving our table unprepared and the cutlery incomplete. The wait staff appeared young and inexperienced; there was a discussion at our table about the placement of the cutlery, which was moreover handled by the part that goes into the food. The service surrounding the food also left much to be desired: at a serious seafood restaurant, you would expect the sole to be filleted for you at the table, but here too, the craftsmanship was lacking. Although this might be a 'hip experience' for many, it simply doesn't fit the etiquette and atmosphere. For a bistro where you pay €100-€120 for three courses, I would overlook this, but if you are shelling out €300 for a dinner including wine, this shoddy work is simply substandard. The food was fine, but certainly not spectacular. If you want truly fresh fish and value for money, you are better off going to Simonis at the fish market. Catch wants to present itself as a chic establishment, but in practice, it is unfortunately an overpriced bistro. For just a fraction more, you can sit at a Michelin-starred restaurant where the experience is right.

Het was een geweldige avond waarin mijn verwachtingen ruimschoots werden overtroffen. Ik kan me niet herinneren wanneer ik voor het laatst zó genoten heb van sushi. We zaten op de bovenste ring en werden fantastisch geholpen door een zeer attente en vriendelijke gastheer. Helaas ben ik zijn naam vergeten, maar het ging om een wat oudere heer die de bovenverdieping bediende, complimenten voor zijn warme ontvangst, deskundig advies en aanstekelijke glimlach. Wat een verademing om te zien dat gastvrijheid en kwaliteit nog zo mooi samen kunnen gaan.

Kom hier al vanaf het begin en vond de prijs/kwaliteit altijd prima, zit ook op een leuke plek en is echt vanaf het begin een aanwinst geweest in Scheveningen. Maar nu, na ontvangt van de rekening, schrok ik me dood, bijna 10,00 euro voor een flesje bruiswater en ze zijn niet de enigen, die het nodig vinden om de prijzen vanaf 1 januari te verhogen. I found the food almost overwhelming, so tasty and fresh, and at the right temperature! I also found it cozy with the lights reflecting in the glasses, and the chairs were comfortable. We hadden ons verheugd op een etentje bij Catch by Simonis in Scheveningen. Het restaurant stond al een tijdje op onze lijst, en de locatie en ambiance beloofden veel goeds. Bij aankomst werden we hartelijk ontvangen door het vriendelijke personeel. Onze zoon, die geen vis eet, koos voor de hamburgers, die er op het oog aantrekkelijk en smakelijk uitzagen. Helaas ging het bij het uitserveren al mis: een van de hamburgers viel op de tafel. Omdat we de avond niet wilden verpesten, gaven we aan dat het geen probleem was, het meisje deed het niet expres. Op dat moment leek alles in orde. Tot onze teleurstelling verliep de avond anders dan gehoopt. Eenmaal thuis werd onze zoon ziek. Hij moest meerdere keren overgeven, wat ons zorgen baarde. De ervaring voelde ineens minder feestelijk. Direct heb ik het restaurant per mail op de hoogte gebracht over de situatie en gevraagd of ze konden onderzoeken wat er mis zou kunnen zijn met de hamburgers. De reactie was vriendelijk, als tegemoetkoming werd ons een drankje aangeboden bij een volgend bezoek. Hoewel het gebaar op prijs werd gesteld, vond ik dit niet passend en in verhouding. Daarom heb ik het aanbod vriendelijk afgewezen. Het is jammer dat een avond waar we zo naar hadden uitgekeken op deze manier eindigde. De service was echt vriendelijk, maar de afhandeling van de melding had iets serieuzer en doortastender gekund. Hopelijk is dit een incident en wordt er kritisch gekeken naar eventuele verbeteringen in de keuken en het serviceniveau.

This was my first time here and it did not disappoint. We were seated top floor and served by Hubert, who helped us put together a great tasteful meal and a successful date night with my fiancé. We had the small bisque, which is not on the menu but great to have while bringing in some starters like their salmon sushi roll. They have a great selection of wines, with a surprising amount of wines you can order per glass. As mains we ordered the warm seafruit dish with an extra half lobster. This restaurant is ideal for sharing your dinner, while keeping right sized portions and maintaining quality. As desert we tried their new Dubai lava cake which I highly recommend. But really, the difference for us was how we were taken care of and the eye for our needs - this is what I want to experience when I have a well deserved night out.

Went to eat with a group. In itself it was tasty, unfortunately the food was a bit too expensive for what you get. The quantity, quality and taste were not what I would expect for the prices and without side dishes. I personally had the salmon with pistachio as a main course. We were in shock how catch has gone worse on their customer service. We went to have lunch on sunday noon and because of live music we wanted to sit in the place where it was not too loud music. We enter the place and the waiter was annoyed with us as he had to serve us as there was noone before we entered the terrace. The girl who guided to the terrace and the waiter were saying to each other how unfortunate it was that they had to serve us and why we didn't sit in the other floor. They just didn't expect that we clearly understand dutch. Sad how they treated us. I have been many times to catch but this has been my worse experience. Never going back again. For the 200 euro you spend for 3 people the service is horrible. The place was dirty and was stinky. May be the terrace is not used much so felt that way. Not going back again.
