Simonis aan de Haven in Wijk 07 Scheveningen

Elk jaar proberen we het weer maar elke keer weer waardeloos!! Personeel chagrijnig, niet vriendelijk en AROGANT. Je krijgt een pieper mee voor je eten als je dan wilt gaan halen word er op arrogante manier duidelijk gemaakt dat hij mee loopt om het vervolgens letterlijk neer te smijten. Nederlands praten kunnen ze hier niet. Gebakken vis zit zo vol met graat dat het geen fijn mond g voel heeft en niet weg te krijgen is. En er moet echt iets gedaan worden aan de gratis saus.... gewoon belachelijk hoe ze daar lopen te pompen..... 12 bakjes !!!! Voor iemand met 1 gebakken vis. Blonde meid achter de kassa was het enige vrolijke wat er rond liep.... En dan nog vis verkopen en geen fatsoenlijke wijn in de aanbieding hebben... Jammer weer.. Neem gewoon normaal fatsoenlijk personeel aan dat ook nog een NEDERLANDS praat we wonen in NEDERLAND zo wil ik ook behandeld worden.

Simonis aan de Haven moet uitkijken dat ze niet ten onder gaan aan hun eigen succes, kwaliteit wordt minder en de vis wordt duurder,ondanks dat kom ik er nog wel graag.

Simonis restaurant is veel te duur geworden. Kwaliteit vinden wij redelijk. Parkeerkosten op eigen terrein tegen 6€ per etentje klinkt belachelijk. Helaas komen we nooit meer naartoe.

Comida muy mala y sosa. Demasiado caro considerando el sabor. No recomiende nada. Seco y soso y de sabor extraño. No vayas por tu propio bien.

Nadat het bedrag voor de bestelling van mijn rekening werd afgeschreven en mijn bestelling niet kwam werd ik voor leugenaar uitgemaakt bij de kassa en vervolgens met kanker bescholden toen ik hier wat van zei. Absoluut niet aan te raden, zaak is niet meer wat het geweest is.

Kwaliteit is achteruit gegaan. Kibbeling veel kleine harde stukken, friet slap, alleen maar mayonaise en tomatensaus aanwezig, salade waterig. Bediening niet klant vriendelijk. Waren meer met elkaar bezig.

On over troffen Fruit-de-Mer schotel!! Wat een feest, keurig door dhr Dennis zelf - meen ik - in orde gemaakt voor meenemen en daar konden de vriendjes en ik met een klein glaasje goede wijn erbij genieten van een festijn aan lekkers!!!

Gisteravond dachten wij gezellig wat te gaan eten bij Simonis. 85 euro lichter en met een heel slecht gevoel naar huis. Bij het bestellen voor en hoofdgerecht apart besteld word het gebracht wordt alles in 1 keer op tafel gegooid. Wij vragen netjes waarom antwoord nou dan zal je het wel zo besteld hebben . Ze willen ook het hoofdgerecht niet mee terug nemen . Dan vragen is er nog een chef in deze zaak het antwoord er zijn er zo veel dus Ook dat liep op niets uit . Dus mijn man boos naar de kassa want daar was het fout gegaan. Wat hij niet wist dat er van medewerkster was gewisseld dus hij werd boos op de verkeerde. Eindelijk iemand aan onze tafel ook had ik niet gekregen wat ik had besteld. Dus hoofdgerecht werd meegenomen en alsnog later geserveerd . Wederom het verkeerde eten. Ondertussen komt er een medewerkster op hoge poten excuses eisen voor de grote mond due zij had gekregen . Wij waren al klaar na het voorgerecht . Mijn man heeft nog wel tegen de verkeerde kassamedewerkster gezegd sorry dat hij niet wist dat zij op het moment van bestellen niet achter de kassa zat. Al met al een teleurstellende avond en wij komen al jaren bij simonis aan de haven . Het eten wad goed maar de sfeer er omheen was super slecht

Met alle respect voor de eigenaren van deze zaak, maar wat een onvriendelijk en nors personeel – het wordt elke keer slechter! Het toilet is vies, de tafels en stoelen zijn vuil, en de dames aan de kassa kijken je aan alsof je bij hen thuis bent binnengedrongen. Alles doen ze met tegenzin… Het is gewoon verschrikkelijk

Heerlijk eten kibbeling met patat en een lekkerbek met 2 personen, personeel prima maar het parkeerbeleid, belachelijk, €9.00 parkeerkosten, heb er goed uur geweest.

Helaas is Simonis de laatste tijd erg veel aan kwaliteit achteruit gegaan. Personeel niet vriendelijk en kortaf. Leek wel of ze er geen zin in hadden. Vieze tafels. En als klap op de vuurpijl: betaald parkeren. Visje gegeten, 6 euro zoveel betalen voor parkeren, terwijl dit vroeger gratis was. Ga er niet meer heen. Voor klanten moet parkeren gratis zijn zoals bij veel andere restaurants, bv Van Der Valk !!

Heb 3 keer de visschotel van 15,50 gehaald en een portie kibbeling. Op het laatste was het even wachten. Thuisgekomen was de lwaliteit zoals zovaak prima. Moest nu wel 3€ betalen voor even parkeren om af te halen. Dat vind ik toch wel overdreven. Daarom 4 sterren in plaats van 5.

Un endroit très fréquenté par les familles. Les produits de la mer proposés sont cuisinés sur place et les portions sont généreuses.

Leuke plek, genoeg zitgelegenheden. Vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk eten. Ook het winkeltje eraan vast staat vol lekkers.

Helaas is het niet meer zoals vroeger. De slibtongetjes waren gewoon op te hoog vuur gebakken. Zwart tot donkerbruin gebakken. De zwartste lag onderop. Jammer.

Garnalen cocktail besteld, vond dit erg karig met een blaadje sla en de saus in een klein bakje er naast en dat voor 17,50. Voor deze prijs mag ik wel wat meer aandacht voor dit product verwachten. Ook de paling op brood leek wel gehalveerd met de vorige keer.

You won't get better fish anywhere else. It is very busy inside. The tables are placed closely next to each other. Decor is nice.

The food is always good and fantastic. Once again a delicious meal. The only thing is that it is always messy and busy. But in the end you take that for granted.

Today we ate fresh herring with onions and sea bream from the oven. It is always pleasantly busy here, and service is provided quickly.

Delicious, super fresh fish with fries and coleslaw (fish and chips)!! The portions are large: two "fat" fish per person, although one is a lot, to be honest. Excellent system: order and pay first. You get a receipt with a number and then you wait until your fresh fish is ready. Your number will be called and you can either eat it outside or take it neatly packed with you. Friendly, efficient team of employees. Parking in front of the door. It is expensive now: 1 euro 50 per 15 minutes!! That was a bit of a shock and means that we will be less likely to go here from now on.

New Year's Feast at Simonis aan de Haven We celebrated the first day of 2025 at Simonis aan de Haven, revisiting The Hague. At the entrance, there’s a seafood bar brimming with vibrant, colorful seafood to welcome customers. The warm lobster bisque was the perfect antidote to winter’s chill, bringing comfort to our frozen fingers and toes. The highlight was the €50 snack platter, a generous assortment of freshly cooked fish and seafood. Though recommended for sharing, a gentle note suggesting a minimum of four people might be helpful—it was far too much for just the two of us! As we savored the feast, an amazed passerby exclaimed, "Enjoying, enjoying, enjoying!" at our overflowing table. We could only smile wryly and wish for more friends to join the celebration. A cozy meal in a cherished place—perfect for welcoming the New Year!

Simonis was once a really good place to eat, but now it has all the allure of a food bar in an amusement park. I really tried my best to like it, but for a long time this Simonis location has been doing everything it can to test that good will. Staff who don't look at you and sometimes don't even answer questions, walk right past you. Dirty tables where children have been finger painting with mayonnaise, whose works of art must apparently remain for the next guests. Piles of used crockery that look at you as dead as the staff. More salt than fries. Too little spiced Simonis soup. The floor is slippery and sticky with ice, fish, crushed fries. But: congratulations to the young lady who came to put our food on the table. Then again, yes. I think this Simonis mainly depends on its name and location. Maybe it's recommended in Lonely Planet or something? But compared to the competitors in the area, I really put this tent at the bottom. It seems mainly for expats and nouveau riche to brag that they have been to 'the best' fish joint, but in my opinion the Simonis family is letting this location succumb to success. To me this ship is sinking. It feels like you've walked into a dairy cow. There is no pride and love left in the building. All that nonsense from 'local guides' about price-quality and generous portions is nonsense. You can get that elsewhere too. Literally one door further you have the peace, cleanliness and service for a more reasonable price. And that's where I'm going for the time being if this remains the dining experience at Simonis.

After a long time I ate at Simonis again. You get large portions (which is OK for the money you pay). Other than that, I didn't think it was much better than a random fishing tent in a village by the sea.

Super big portions. Definitely value for the money. Staff were nice and friendly but sometimes they look a bit lost, maybe because they get too busy. So don’t be shy if your food didn’t show up, just go and ask. I also felt the grilled Tuna was pre cooked because it came too fast and it was partly cold and felt raw. Good thing is tuna can be eaten raw as well so no problem. Fish was fresh. I think this is a perfect place for big family eating.

The Simonis soup is very salty and the fish pieces dry. The atmosphere is better than a cafeteria, but you don't have to expect real conviviality. You can order via a QR code, but unfortunately not every dish contains what it contains

Restaurant? Refectory? As the food production cycle increases in places where people eat, the energy and taste of the food can be negatively affected, especially if a head chef who enjoys his job does not put his soul into the event... Breading and serving the fish creates a feast of taste... It is a very busy place and it works almost like self-service... It doesn't promise anything in terms of view when you go at night, but its location is good...

We always bring a tasty dish, fries, salad, and 2 gourmets. We have been doing this regularly for years, but every time it deteriorates more and more, the meals are such a shame, I really had the feeling that my gourmets were double fried, the crust was rock hard and really not tasty, I have been there so many times now, but this was all very bad. Too bad, we will NOT get food there anymore without using our money

I understand that Boxing Day is also busy - but there should be some kind of system in place by now! Incredibly poorly organized with orders! Once it's your turn in the store, you hear that you have to join the queue where people place their orders to eat there. So you have to wait twice unnecessarily long. When we were there, none of the orders were ready - you are all waiting in the aisle - pushed from left to right, really not okay! But…. The gourmet dish and the scallops were perfect! There was nothing to complain about.

Today we ate at this place. Bad service. The general board where the orders are displayed is not working, it is impossible to navigate when the order is finally brought, then the pipper pipped and the waiter came. he said that the order number board was stopped for technical reasons for a long time for an hour. Had dinner here for the first time tonight, what a disappointment. Staff not nice at all, bordering on rude. 2 dishes of kibbeling Kibbeling/fries, way too much thrown on a plate and very salty. There was no salad or anything with it. All in all, we took a few bites and threw the empty bottles into the bin, not a pleasant atmosphere at all, We were outside again after half an hour Don't mind spending money But this was really bad Shame!!

When I'm in the Netherlands I always eat fresh fish and hoesters at Simonis. The atmosphere is great and the products fresh. I recommend everyone to visit there and enjoy the traditional Dutch gastronomy.

A super tent that we like to visit from the south. Everything served fresh and hot. Furthermore, a nice place to eat some delicious fresh fish. This is a great restaurant!

You come here for the fish! I think it was normally busy for a Saturday around 6pm. "Outside" (covered and with a few electric heaters) was sufficient space, and also cool given the outside temperature. Nice meal. By the way, parking is paid.

The food is fine and lots of it... But 3.50 for a small bottle of coke??? Today, December 27, 2024, we were there again. It's like feeding time in a pigsty. What a shout and full of people.... Gourmet is burnt black, fish soup with bones. Too many people and the quality of food is deteriorating rapidly.... Small delicacies for a lot of money as well as the drinks......

2 of us got food poisoning, we shared 3 dishes. Oysters, kibbeling and the fish soup. Not sure what the culprit was but we won't be going back. The service was fast and well organised and it's a nice venue but none of that can make up for poor food hygiene standards.

You come into the store as a tourist, wait 30 minutes for your turn and are told to line up around the corner for the restaurant. Totally rude and unfriendly employees. You can get the food you get there at rip-off prices with a drink for a third cheaper at the competition next door. We will never enter this store again

Delicious gourmet and kibbeling food!! Loud environment, take it for granted ;) I ate really fresh fish, breaded in a light, thin, crispy layer as it should be!! Nice that you get a small coleslaw with it too! Wonderful discovery! We will be back!

Delicious sea-fresh fish to die for. Order a menu and it will be brought to the table. You can get all kinds of sauces from the sauce table and order drinks. It's also a lot of fun on the terrace in the summer. But with this chilly wind it is nice to sit inside. Nice base after a beach visit. It is a busy restaurant with an adjacent fish shop to enjoy at home.

Excellent, honestly it was the best

The best restaurant in The Hague! We always come here when we go to the sea. The big prawns are best! Afterwards you can buy the Spanish marinade in the shop! Clear recommendation 👍🏼

The service was unfriendly and we had to ask 3 times until our table was really clean. I myself have had kibbeling and there was almost more dough than fish. The kibbeling was very salty and there was hardly any seasoning on it. It was very noisy and the atmosphere was not pleasant, also because the service was very unfriendly. You had to pick up the drinks yourself and you had to get the sauce yourself. That's not necessarily bad, but you can't call it a restaurant. More like a snack bar with bad food. It was also very expensive for what you got. The one I was with had swordfish. There was almost more oil than fish. Really, really fat. Also unnecessary. It would have been much better with less fat. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Simonis aan de Haven is known for the excellent quality of the kibbeling and the generously filled portions. You really get your money's worth when it comes to the taste and freshness of the fish. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is no longer what it once was. Numbers are no longer broadcast as they used to be, there is now a somewhat impersonal and less pleasant atmosphere. Another disadvantage is the parking situation: it is difficult to park in the area, and you also have to pay a lot for those parking spaces. Prices have also risen considerably over time, but fortunately the quality remains at a high level.

It was rather old, a classic ambiance of the old Dutch days...and many old couples were eating there...it was a coincidence, I think 🤔...however the fried foods were greasy a bit and so the floor was! I would rather go there by my parents... they like it, by the way!

Lekkerbek maaltijd was toch niet zo als wij gewend zijn. Kwaliteit is matig en de porties duidelijk kleiner dan voorheen. Prijsstelling is pittig icm “ eigen bediening “ service 😉. Kwam er later achter , dat vrij parkeren / Simonis ook niet meer van toepassing is. Gemiste kans ! Richard S

Such a nice place! The food is of extremely good quality. The mix of guests is very nice: at one table they are unpacking fruits de mer and a bottle of bubbles, at the other table construction workers are sitting after a busy working day. So something for everyone. The food is served quickly and the service is attentive. It would be useful if drinks could be ordered elsewhere. Now we had to wait until a large group had completed their order.

You’ll never be disappointed here—my top pick is the shrimp Caesar salad.

It was very busy inside and not necessarily a pleasant atmosphere. Very massive. Fish was tasty but not special.

First we were treated rudely at the checkout counter, then we looked for a seat while waiting for our food, well the ordered kibbeling dish and Simonis soup arrived quickly, first bite of fries no use, back to checkout and got new fries, they were also poorly cooked, the kibbeling was actually also nasty, way too many herbs and fries way too salty, the kibbeling was also much too cold to eat well, but to go back with a plate twice?? No judgment about the soup, my wife thought it was okay. All in all, 34 euros for this was really too expensive. Quality was terrible, along the way we found a mandarin on the street, that was the tastiest thing we ate at Simonis. So yes, will we ever go again? Staff is unfriendly and shows no respect for you.

Aten kreeft. Was geen kreeftvork bij. Met een gewone vork , kun je geen kreeft eten. Bleek dat ze die niet meer hebben. Ook geen nat doekje. Moet je tegenwoordig voor betalen. 6,25 voor 1 1/2 uur parkeren. Friet niet warm. Mijn laatste keer!!!

Quality always good, pricing always bad, unpleasant atmosphere

Ordered a delicious sea bass dish from the oven + Dutch shrimps and a portion of kibbeling. Price quality is excellent, slightly more expensive than other fish shops, but you still get what you pay for. The quality of the sea bass was good and tasty, I thought the vegetables were a bit too much, but the taste of the white fish was good. Spicy sauce for the shrimp was particularly tasty, definitely recommended.

The atmosphere is a bit campy. But the food is top notch.

We have often visited Simons at the harbor in the past. Always had a good meal until this afternoon. We ate the dirtiest salty herring there that we have ever eaten. At first you also doubt yourself, so you let others taste it too. Luckily it wasn't our fault. The herring was tasteless, watery. Just nasty tasted nothing. And yet they say that you must taste their award-winning herring. It looked as if it hadn't been in the brine. In retrospect we should have brought it back. Rest of the food was top notch and delicious. But we will never buy a herring here again. And then the parking for 1.5 hours at 7.50 is scandalous

Known for years and yet always an experience... The fish sales counter like in France!

It was delicious fish. We had a bell but they delivered it so it was very neat. The atmosphere was normal, it was not very busy in this weather, but it was completely good.

We ordered a dish with plaice fillet. There was so much batter on the fish that it could not be tasted and the fries were limp and not fried. The crust was crispy, but it was more crust than fish and that's not what we come for. Too bad, and also quite pricey.

Went inside for an hour, had to pay 5 euros for their private parking lot. A bit ridiculous for someone with a walking disability.

Order one less than the number of people there are, the portions are huge.

If you want freshly caught fish at good prices, this is the right place for you. Food is very good. However, it is sometimes very crowded and therefore very loud.

My wife and I have been coming here for 35 years, in the beginning there were only standing tables. The products were always fine, today the bickering was so disappointing, only fried flour, no fish to be seen, I filed a complaint at the cash register on site. She would pass it on. The Simons fish soup was also disappointing last time.

It took quite a while for the food to be brought to the table. Portions are fine 😋. (Slightly smaller than a few years ago) Wasn't very busy, but it's a shame that you have to pay for parking these days 😕
