Great tapas restaurant. Patatas bravas and meatballs work great together. The staff is very friendly and can help with a choice. The atmosphere is relaxing :)

I've been here many times during the last year, one of my favorite places in Amsterdam

No free tapwater even when you buy a glass of wine and four dishes of food

If you want to have a real Spanish experience try the delicious menu they offer. Amazing quality! My favorite the rib-eye Nigiri, and for dessert try the torrija! Very friendly staff and environment. The chef is TOP.

We had a wonderful meal here last night. The service was fantastic, the dishes were delicious, and the wines were excellent. The atmosphere was very pleasant. We had a wonderful evening and would love to come back again.

Ridiculously overpriced small portion tapas…sangria in a jar for 30€… Interior design is great and service is nice..but that is not enough

We had a wonderful meal at Cavataria. The ribeye paella nigiri was truly amazing; I would recommend it to everyone. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The wine list is also excellent. Simply a great place to enjoy a good meal and drinks. See you soon!

Overpriced for the dish size more pinxtos than tapas

Im sorry but this is absolutely insane! We ordered a cheese plate, mind you costs 15€, and this is what we get?? Absolutely unacceptable!!! Why does this plate look like the kitchen scrambled to get the last pieces of cheese from scraps to make this. Jam on the spoon, come on now. Also we were sharing this plate, are we supposed to all eat the same “cheese lollipop”? Be for real now. Do not recommend.

I wouldn't go here for the food, but if you can tolerate the background noise, this is a great place to be. The bread with tomato and garlic came without garlic (tomato flavor was very good by the way) and the spring roll with pork cheek was lukewarm. The manager responded to both that it would be passed on to the kitchen. That's a bit poor. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is intimate, albeit a bit dark. The service is rated somewhat lower because the complaints were not dealt with; the atmosphere because a constant monotonous thumping was heard (seemed as if the high and mid tones had been turned down) Tap water was served for free, therefore not two but three stars.

The food was excellent and highly recommended. The atmosphere had a very Christian touch and was a bit creepy at times :D But nothing intimidating, rather unusual. Unfortunately, the service sometimes left something to be desired. So that some drinks never arrived and were forgotten. Overall, however, we had a lovely and good evening!

Had a nice meal with the family again.

What a nice restaurant! I was happy upon entering and left even happier! Friendly service, really tasty Spanish dishes and super tasty cava sangria. I'll definitely be back!

The place to be if you like tapas and conviviality, the service is top notch and very friendly and kind. This place knows what it means to have a restaurant, have eaten there more than 5 times in the past year and have had perfect service every time. The atmosphere is just nice, not too exaggerated and just nice and normal, but the staff is well instructed about all dishes and takes all orders without a note or electronic devices. You must have eaten here once!

A gem in Amsterdam. A spanish restaurant which keeps its authenticy without using spanish self repetitive cliches. A catholic approach to the sincere atmosphere. Food is good. I tried antricote, side dish grilled salty chilis were great. Tomate salad could be better, i think they have a little transient problem with the 🍅, they were green house tomatoes. The cheese cake was superb. Strongly advised. Almond ice cream, a light cream and cake itself all were delicious. I had a good time here

Overpriced for the portion/quality of the dishes. Not even the bread with alioli was good… The decor is cluttered and overly religious, which I found off-putting. As a Spaniard, the restaurant concept was disappointing. The staff seemed inattentive and distracted. Overall, not a place I would recommend

A beautiful evening outdoors. Discreet service, basic dishes, substantially reheated. At 8.30pm it was not possible to ask for a Paela. Too bad..

The food is very tasty except for what is served from a can, but what they prepare themselves is good. The service seems a bit awkward, but they are very friendly and try very hard. Definitely nice to have a meal sometime.

Cavataria in Amsterdam is a tapas bar with a focus on Spanish dishes and cava. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful. The croquetas de queso, pan con alioli, chipirones fritos, pimienos de padrón were tasty. Unfortunately, the paella mixta was disappointing, not cooked enough, resulting in wet rice. This was a shame, especially considering the price. Despite this small caveat, Cavataria is worth a visit for those who like tapas with a Spanish twist and want a pleasant evening out.

The sangria and food is delicious. Be sure to check the daily deals on the menu, they are great. The only let down was the desert (chocolates mouse) which had a store bought feeling.

Hidden gem in Oud-Zuid. Our group of 9 received super service, charismatic staff and know the simple service tricks of 'walking the extra mile'. Even after we wanted to change tables a few times, they responded flexibly and thought along about options. Divine cocktails, delicious wine and a nice jug of sangria on the table. A friend felt nauseous because she had eaten so many patatas bravas: the sauce was too tasty. My favorite has to be the prawns... what a nice evening. Thanks team Cavataria! Don't forget to peek into the confession room inside and dress up as a pope, including a Bible for fun.

Great tent! Especially when the terrace is open and the sun is shining. The Alhambra on tap is also a big plus.

We walked in the cold towards Oud Zuid until we noticed this nice looking restaurant. After some exploration of the outside, we spontaneously decided to walk inside. We were lucky for a cold Friday evening because there was still a table available. At first we just wanted to have a drink, but the dishes were so tasty that we turned the drinks into dinner. Very nice atmosphere and beautiful food and wine.

We spent an amazing evening, with excellent service and delicious, curated food. Will recommend!

Heerlijk gegeten bij Cavataria! Van alles wat genomen en alles gedeeld (wat makkelijk kan vanwege de kleine porties). Het was vrij rustig die avond, maar toch leuk. Personeel was ook erg vriendelijk en gezellig!

Een superleuk restaurant met heerlijk eten en het personeel was heel erg vriendelijk.

Een etablissement dat zijn potentie niet volledig benut. Buiten liggen sigarettenpeuken op een verlaten terras (winter) waarbij je nog twijfelt of men open is, want binnen is het erg donker en het krijtbord dat zou moeten uitnodigen, onbeschreven. Maar eenmaal binnen en geplaceerd voel je je toch welkom. Er is een leuke tapaskaart, keuze uit mediterraanse drankjes, en als hoogtepunt kwam men langs met een traktatie van werkelijk zeer smaakvolle hapjes van het huis. Calamares uit de diepvries met dat typische rubberen karakter vond ik een tegenvaller. Daarentegen waren andere tapas waarvan ingrediënten in Nederland beter vers verkrijgbaar zijn erg lekker, en goed bereid.

Lovely place with Spanish tapas. All plates we ordered were delicious. Quesos portion was quite small but still good. Sangria is also recommended!

Nu voor de tweede keer gegeten. + Goed eten. + Goede bediening. + Goede zweer. - Prijs wat te duur wat je daarvoor krijgt.

Hele gezellige sfeer! Eten was lekker. Ze liepen met pinchos rond en gaven aan dat we iets mochten kiezen van het dienblad. Later bleek dat dit gewoon op de rekening stond. Dit was een beetje apart aangezien ze de indruk wekten dat het uit gastvrijheid was. Voor de rest was alles goed!

Lovely atmosphere, tapas and service. Cute and rustic space, with lively feeling and perfect level of service. Bavette, jamon Serrano, asparagus and calamari so tasty. Look forward to trying more of the varied dishes on the menu 😍

The best Spanish restaurant of Amsterdam

Super lekker eten met goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Bediening was echt super goed, ondanks dat het restaurant best vol was. Een aanrader!

Leuke atmosfeer en prima borrelplank

Heel gezellig ingericht en fijn kaarslicht. Gewoon lekkere tapas (verwacht geen culinaire hoogstandjes) en hele aardige bediening! Lekkere cocktails ook 👍🏻 ik kom zeker nog eens terug.

Good food and atmosphere but the restaurant had no english menu. Also, we made a reservation in advance but the didn’t actually have a table reserved for us when we arrived.

Very disappointed with the food here. Out of the four dishes we had, three of them were incredibly bland. The aioli didn’t even taste of garlic, the tortilla was dry and overcooked, the peppers lacked salt too. I only liked the patatas bravas, so apparently they do have salt in the kitchen. The service was alright, but lacking too a little. Portions are small, definitely not worth the price! Atmosphere was cute though..
