Smakenrad is not just a wheel, it is a corona-proof restaurant. You can enjoy the Groningen view from the sky while having a delicious dinner. P.S. It is really cold up there. The doors on both sides have gaps in between, so the wind strikes hard. Wear some warm clothes 😉

Cozy ambience and tasty filling food, went for lunch. The staff is polite with good service. Very homely.

I had a fabulous 5 course dinner with beer and port pairing. Utterly delicious and I’ll be back next year.

Great restaurant! If you want to go on the weekend you have to book far in advance, but it is MORE than worth the wait. As a vegetarian you are often underwhelmed by yet another eggplant from the oven, but not here!! Every course new flavors that I have never seen combined like this before. I still dream about the spinach with jalapeno. I have never eaten as delicious as here. Each course was wonderfully put together, very diverse and yet it all fit together perfectly. What a party!!! Already looking forward to the next time!
