We recently visited the Chinese restaurant in Medemblik, and our overall impression is mixed, but positive. The positives: The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. You definitely get your money's worth, and the taste is excellent. The service was also outstanding: The staff was very friendly and helpful, and both the food and the beer we ordered were served very quickly. Perfect for those who don't want to wait long! The negatives: Unfortunately, the decor is quite dated. We found the use of paper tablecloths particularly unappealing and somewhat uninspired. An update would be desirable to improve the overall experience. Conclusion: If you can do without a fancy atmosphere and are focused on fast, friendly service and excellent, plentiful food, this is the place for you!

Food lacked flavor. No taste. The sweet & Sour sauce was the worst I ever tasted. Maybe I'm spoiled because most Chinese restaurants in the US have a lot of flavor and very delicious. I haven't found a good Chinese restaurant in Europe yet. The rice was not the best. I eat farm rice in the Philippines and it's a huge difference in taste and quality. Very expensive. The dish itself was fresh meat and paprika but just no flavor. Definitely needed a bottle of soy sauce for flavor but none was on the table. Your location is great. Restaurant is beautiful. Just please fix the taste of that sweet & Sour chicken and a better quality rice. I recommend Jasmine Rice.

For some time now, my daughter used to go to this restaurant for takeout. You could always choose whatever you wanted from the menu, and it was worth going there since they don't offer delivery. Last month, she went and was unpleasantly surprised to find that you could no longer freely choose from the menu. Now, if you want duck, you're forced to order noodles as well, otherwise you can't buy the duck. The manager's behavior is truly shocking, and it's the first time in my life I've encountered anything like this, and I've traveled to over 40 countries! Furthermore, because she complained, they charged her for the prawn crackers they give away to everyone who places a good order. The food quality has gone downhill considerably; you don't get that crispy duck anymore! What a shame! Never again!! I absolutely do not recommend it!!

Highly recommended! Very large portions and absolutely delicious. The only downside is that most of the staff don't speak English. But we managed to communicate using gestures.

My wife and I went to this restaurant because of the good reviews. I had number 27: Peking soup, and number 72: lean pork with sauce. The soup was delicious. No complaints there. Slightly spicy and fresh vegetables. The meat wasn't so good. The sauce simply tasted awful. It was lumpy and far too thick, and it also tasted incredibly bitter. My wife had satay skewers with peanut sauce. The meat was well-cooked and extremely juicy. However, there was so much sauce on the plate that you had to search for the skewers. The sauce was also completely lumpy and barely tasted of peanuts. For her main course, she ordered something vegetarian and even read it out again, pointing to the number. What arrived was cooked vegetables with chicken and an omelet swimming in tomato sauce. The dish was served in a metal bowl with two indentations. It didn't look very appetizing and reminded me of prison food from bad movies. The drinks were fine. The waitress tried to do everything and seemed a bit overwhelmed. Unfortunately, she didn't understand English, Dutch, German, or Italian. Nevertheless, she was always very friendly. It was a unique experience for us.

We had dinner there on Saturday February 15, 2025 with 22 people. It was super fun and the food was good and delicious. Worth repeating.

What happened? From a nice restaurant to a messy and dusty restaurant. What a shame 😥

I had decided to definitely go out for Chinese food during my vacation in the Netherlands, as Chinese food in the Netherlands is something completely different than in Germany. After much consideration, we decided on this restaurant. What the other reviews say is true: The service is super friendly, even if they only understand fragments of Dutch and neither English nor German 😉 But hey - this is about ordering food and it always works. From the outside and inside, the restaurant looks rather simple and a bit old, BUT: If you can overlook that, you will get one thing above all: very good, fresh, tasty and authentic food that cannot be compared with the mainstream buffet food from Germany. We had a Chinese rice table for two people and can really recommend it. The food arrived fresh and steaming on the warmer and was still sizzling when it was served. On a side note, I am a Peking soup junkie. Here I slurped down one of the best soups I've ever had. Nice and sweet, pleasant spiciness and great additions. When we're in the corner again we'll come back.

This restaurant, more than 20 years old, has varied and good quality food. The lady responsible for the service is very attentive if there are no people, but as soon as it fills up with people who come to pick up this restaurant, it becomes a calamity with the service. insufficient and bad, inexperienced staff you ask them for things and they forget, in short a disaster and it is a shame because with a little more staff it would be perfect.

Lekker gegeten, maar wat een lange wachttijd. Duurde ruim een uur voordat het eten werd geserveerd. Duidelijk dat het afhalen prioriteit heeft en niet het restaurant.

Very good food. Starters were Peking soup (tastes similar to Germany but a little sweeter, tastes freshly cooked and very good) and spring rolls (also very good). In the picture from the left: Sizzling Beuf, Sizzling Duck, beef with mushrooms and breaded shrimp with sweet and sour sauce. The sizzling dishes were with spicy Szechuan sauce. It had a good spiciness, but not too spicy. The Peking soup had more bang. Service very friendly. Dishes were priced at €20 +- €2-3 each. The quantity and quality were appropriate. Everyone was fed up. Conclusion: A visit is a must if you like Chinese food and want to escape the local fryer kitchen :)

Essen sehr gut. Recht authentisch. Menge und Qualität stimmt. Beim Service geben sie sich Mühe, sprechen sehr schlecht Englisch und nur sehr gebrochen Niederländisch. (Sagen die Einheimischen…) Währen dem Hauptservice hat sich das Personal verpflegt und den Gästen keine Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt.

At first I thought: Oh, I still have something for tomorrow. You think, that was sooooo delicious, we ate everything (2-menu with two hungry sailors) except a few noodles. Always my pleasure :* ***** Stars

Picked up for €183.00. It was very messy but the worst part was that it was not tasty. Seemed reheated and not fresh. One of us got sick from it and had to throw up. No complaint was made by telephone

Locally known and very popular, Asian dishes (Chinese/Indonesian) very copious and inexpensive, sweet/savoury, friendly and relaxed service, you have to order the grilled meats served very hot in a sauce called "zwarte bonensaus" (apologies , I forgot the name).

The teppan dishes here are delicious!

We came an hour before closing, but were met with beautiful smiles. The Peking soup was creamy, and the vegetables were a perfect crispness. The meat and chicken sizzled as it arrived at our table and melted in the mouth. I had Mihoen Singapore style and it was incredible! Perfect texture and amount of spicy. I will be back to repeat this wonderful experience. Thank you ladies!

The new owner ensures better quality now that the restaurant needs to be renovated

It was very busy with the Dickens Market, but still fast service and a delicious meal. It exceeded our expectations.

Das Restaurant sieht etwas heruntergekommen aus. Die Akustik ist sehr Laut. Das Personal nett. Die Speisekarte in 3 Sprachen inkl Deutsch. Das Essen nicht gut es ist zu fettig und es scheint so ein bisschen wie Tk Kost. Sehr schade.

Freundliche Bedienung, bemüht aber die Bestellung war schwierig (kein Englisch oder Deutsch). Speisekarte dafür 3-sprachig. Süß-saure Sauce war mit Dosenfrüchten gesüßt. Im 2. Gericht (Hähnchen mit Bambus und Pilzen) fand ich 3 Bambusstreifen, ansonsten ein paar halbe Gurken- und Möhrenscheiben, die Champignons waren definitiv aus der/dem Dose/Glas. Da es nach nichts schmeckte ging ich ins Restaurant, innen sehr dunkel alles, und fragte nach Sojasauce, woraufhin mir eine Menage mitgegeben wurde. Über Geschmack lässt sich nicht streiten aber wir können dieses Restaurant leider nicht empfehlen.

Voor ons het beste Chinees restaurant.

Wij hebben hier Chinees afgehaald toen we in Europarcs IJsselmeer verbleven. Echt heel goed eten! Maandmenu was heerlijk (met smaakvolle kipkerrie) en alle babi pangang was erg lekker (vooral de spek en ketjap variant). We hebben niet in het restaurant gegeten. Dat zag er niet super sfeervol uit maar het eten wat voorbij kwam zag er super goed uit. Echt een aanrader!

Ook met een voedselallergie maken ze hier terplekke wat lekkers klaar! Vandaag speciaal voor mij een loempia gemaakt. Zo lief

De maaltijden zijn goed. Bij afhalen uitkijken dat het juiste bedrag berekend wordt. Kroepoek is soms gratis.

Mooie mensen bieden goede service

Nog nooit in het restaurant zelf gegeten maar halen hier altijd ons eten. Altijd goed en mocht er een keer iets niet goed zijn kun je bellen en krijg je een vergoeding of iets voor de volgende bestelling.

Het eten was lekker, maar aan de dure kant voor een grote bami, foe fun yong hai, sate stokjes ruim 23 euro kwijt

Was weer erg lekker en perfecte bediening. Lekker warm aan het tafeltje bij het raam. En de prijs was ook zeer redelijk. Wim en Coby.

Das Essen war sehr frisch und lecker, der Service aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Ambiente empfanden wir allerdings sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Papiertischdecken, darunter schmutzige Stofftischdecken, sehr alt und billig wirkendes Besteck und wer mit Stäbchen essen möchte bekommt Plastikschalen. Sehr schade ist auch, dass man das Essen eigentlich nicht sehen kann, da es so dunkel im Lokal ist. Vielleicht nennen es andere gemütlich, unser Eindruck - ziemlich heruntergekommen. Wer darüber hinwegsieht bekommt aber sehr gutes Essen.

Nice old fashioned Chinese restaurant with lovely food. We took take away, all food was hot and very tasty. The place looks a bit dated, but I like these kind of places.

Wat een pareltje, hier eet je echt lekker chinees, chinese rijsttafel genomen, geen spijt van de keuze, alles was heerlijk, en de bediening is top, ja de inrichting is typisch chinees, beetje oudbollig, maar dat hoort zo in een chinees restaurant.

Vriendelijk personeel ook als het ging om de vraag of er glutenvrije opties waren. De Tjap Tjoi heb ik besteld glutenvrij met rijst en het was allemaal super vers. Het enige jammere was dat het ook meteen vegetarisch was terwijl er kip doorheen zou gaan en het was niet gezouten of iets dergelijks dus er zat weinig smaak aan. Toch wel fijn dat er glutenvrije opties zijn hoor en de rest van de groep heeft heerlijk gegeten.
