A wonderful lunch spot. A menu with a huge selection and very nice, friendly staff. Highly recommended for children too! If you book in advance, they can bake cookies. Everything was perfectly organized.

What a fantastic location! Very friendly staff! We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee with a pastry and sausage roll. We've never had such a delicious cheesecake. Our compliments!

I ate there 2 times and both times it was delicious. The best breakfast I has do far in the Netherlands. I love the shot they give together with the coffee. Nice people working there. It's sad I'm moving to a new work location. Otherwise I'd eat here every weekend Saturday and Sunday.

Last weekend, we decided to treat ourselves to a relaxing lunch at this establishment. The atmosphere was cozy, and the menu offered a varied selection. What immediately caught our attention was a fun addition to the menu: "Kids Cookie Baking." A cheerful, inviting activity for children—and our daughter beamed with enthusiasm at the idea of making her own cookies while we enjoyed our meal. A win-win situation, we thought. Because smoking is still permitted on the patio—a decision we personally aren't happy with—we opted to sit inside. It was cozy and peaceful inside, until suddenly a storm blew up from the kitchen. When the cookie baking order was placed, the atmosphere changed abruptly. The kitchen staff member in question, whom we've come to call "the kitchen troll," apparently caught wind of the plan and snapped at the waitstaff. With audible annoyance, they announced that baking cookies was "absolutely impossible." The dough would be frozen, consultations would be needed, reservations, instructions, moon phases—really everything was dragged in to make it clear that we shouldn't have expected this at all. The waitstaff looked visibly uncomfortable, which led me to suspect this wasn't the first time they'd been weighed down by this kitchen gust. I honestly considered canceling our entire order at that moment and going elsewhere. We decided to stay, hoping the food might brighten our mood a bit. I wish I hadn't. What then appeared on the table as my "Full English Breakfast" was so unlike the classic savory dish that I briefly wondered if it was even meant to be breakfast. The sausages were tasteless, the bacon tough, and the egg looked more like a dried-out sun on a plate. The white beans in tomato sauce—normally a small, comforting part of the meal—tasted as if they'd been poured straight from a cheap supermarket can, without even the effort of being carefully reheated. The whole thing exuded nothing of what makes a good meal special: no love, no attention, no craftsmanship. It felt as if everything had been grudgingly dumped onto the plate. I'm not a difficult person and almost always tip, especially when I see the waitstaff making an effort, which was the case here. But this time it felt inappropriate. Not because I begrudged the staff member anything, but because I simply didn't get the impression we were welcome, let alone valued guests. An experience to quickly forget—or, in this case, to write off with a touch of frustration.

Nicely decorated cafe, but the service was poor. There were only three people for the entire restaurant, which was packed, so we had to wait 45 minutes for a sandwich.

The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was great. But we had to wait almost an hour for a few sandwiches, even though it wasn't crowded outside and it was empty inside.

What a nice lunchroom! Renovated terrace and good price / quality ratio. Enthusiastic and friendly team and delicious food! Also a nice children's menu and the kids can bake cookies. I will definitely come back!

Nog nooit meegemaakt dat wij het eten op hadden en daarna ons drinken kwam. Ja het was druk maar zoiets chaotisch nog nooit gezien, personeel liep als een kip zonder kop rond!

Had a super nice High Tea for a friend's baby shower. Arranging and organizing was super flexible and all agreements were fulfilled. We had a nice afternoon!

Nice surprise in Medemblik. Latte macchiato with oat milk. Nice cozy interior. Dog welcome. Lots of choice of different and tasty cakes.

Dickens evening menu, starter soup and main course stew with fries. We also had 4 bock beers, the bill was over €72. Main course was very poor. It's a shame that this is more of a standard in the catering industry these days.

I paid foam with Chai Latte flavor for 4,50€!!! I ordered Chai Latte for take away, and shocked they use the smallest paper cup! Shocked but too late to cancel, I need to chase my tram. I finished it in 2 seconds because it was ALL FOAM!! Really dissapointed. She was nice but lacks of service though.

Enorm fijne sfeer, het eten is heerlijk een zeer goede aanrader en erg vriendelijk personeel ga zeker eens langs zal ik zeggen.

Frederique is een hele gezellige en huiselijke lunchroom. Wij hebben tijdens ons bezoek voor de warme wafel met slagroom en aardbeien gekozen. Dit was echt een aanrader.

Je kan hier heerlijk eten, maar ze hebben ook heerlijke zelfgemaakte gebak voor bij de koffie of thee. En bij mooi weer lekker op het teras met een borrel en een plankje

Nice place, nice coffee and surprising menu

Today we looked for a terrace because we wanted to have a drink and were hungry, but we had our dog with us so we looked for a terrace, so we came across Frederique by chance. An English-speaking hostess then came to get us in, "dogs are also welcome, we are a dog-friendly restaurant". She even arrived with dog biscuits, but placed on the table in case the dog wasn't allowed to have them. I had a bowl of pea soup, I am not lying when I say that it was the tastiest I have ever eaten, tasty with a bit of a spicy taste, but not overpowering. Great service, nice staff and delicious food, my big compliments. We will definitely come back again...

High tea When you read the offer you expect a delicious high tea, but we were disappointed. Soup with a piece of bread was fine, what came next in terms of sweets was not tasty, except for the mini piece of apple pie, dry mini muffin, mini donut, eclair, tompouce, supermarket/frozen quality. The savory part consisted of 2 types of mini sandwiches salmon and salami, quite specific, fine if you like it. And a piece of foccacia. We were actually left in doubt, is this it or will there be something else, no scone, quiche or something like that. Too bad, if this offer normally costs 29 euros, we expect a little more from it. Not recommended.

My mother made a reservation here asking if there were vegan options available. There were three according to the person on the phone. There was no indication on the menu of vegetarian or vegan dishes. When asked, the waitress knew nothing and said things about gluten-free, which has nothing to do with veganism (which is often confused in the same way). After much discussion with the waitress about my dietary requirements (vegan), I ordered a sandwich with hummus and grilled vegetables. When this was served, I noticed a sauce on it that the waitress said was made from yogurt. In the end I got a version without yogurt sauce, but that wasn't great in taste either. There are more restaurants that do not have vegan options, but the telephone communication promised otherwise. The person on the phone mixed up vegetarian and vegan. All in all, this made for a less than ideal experience. The waitress did her best to serve us well.

Bestilte en Ceasar salad og forventet å få den med kylling som den egentlig skal ha. Fikk ikke kylling men heller en slags pølse laget av svin. Bestille i tillegg en latte, som heller ikke var god. Brødene som vi fikk til krokettene var tørt.

Freundliche zurückhaltende junge Bedienung, sprach auch English (kein Deutsch). Zu dem heißen ausgezeichneten Kaffee gab es einen kostenlosen Kaffee-Likör, sehr lecker. Schönes Lokal in schöner lebhafter Umgebung.

De tonijnsalade was uitstekend.

Medemblik is een gezellig stadje. Vooral in de zomer. Gezellige terassen.

Lekker en vriendelijk personeel

Dickens avond in Medemblik was heel gezellig. Het vroor 3 graden en toch lekker! Leuke kraampjes en Dickens karakters live zang, glühwein. En natuurlijk van Hoorn naar Medemblik met de museumstoontrein!

Ik heb hier op een zondagmiddag met wat mensen op het buitenterras een kopje koffie met appelgebak genomen. De koffie wat ruim aangekleed met een blokje boterkoek, een heel klein glaasje liqueur en slagroom. De appeltaart was licht warm met slagroom. Erg lekker allemaal en door het waterige najaarszonnetje goed te doen buiten.

Hier heerlijk kunnen lunchen. Sfeervol en lekker warm binnen, personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Friendlijk rustige ambiance met een familie gevoel waar men gaan bijkomen van een lekker stads wandeling.
