Chinees Specialiteiten Restaurant Yu Woah in Bankras, Kostverloren

My daughter celebrated her 18th birthday, and I've never had such an unpleasant dinner. We traveled specifically to be able to hear each other eat, and sometimes it was completely silent. We asked for music, but it wasn't possible because of people who were more important than us, so there was no background noise or atmosphere. This is clearly just a takeout restaurant. Absolutely no atmosphere.

I want to start by saying the food was truly amazing, and I'll most likely be ordering takeout from here regularly. BUT. The atmosphere was truly awful. There was no music; it was deathly quiet. Absolutely silent. There was no one at the table, even though it was a Saturday night. When I asked if they could play some music, I was told in broken Dutch, "We don't play music." Fine. The service was also pretty much terrible. Even though there was literally almost no one to serve me, my empty glass was ignored repeatedly. At one point, it almost became an inside joke with my table companions. It's ridiculous. I recommend takeout, but besides that? Save your money.

The owner was very friendly and the kids seemed to have fun. The food was delicious and I'd love to come again!

I visited this restaurant together with my school group from Germany, and although I wasn’t hungry and didn’t try the food, I was truly impressed by the kindness and warm attitude of the owner. When we came, I politely asked if I could film a short clip for a vlog, without disturbing anyone. She said yes without any problems - but just for personal use and for a few secundes. While my teacher initially said filming wasn’t allowed there and told me to turn it off, the owner once again let me know that it was her restaurant and in her restaurant I may film myself all the time if I want. Her friendly and welcoming approach with a smile made a great impression on me. The outdoor terrace is also a lovely place to sit and relax, with a calming view of the nearby river and nature behind – perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. Highly recommend for the peaceful and friendly atmosphere to relax and have a dinner or some bevearge!

Very happy with this restaurant! I often get takeout, but I also eat in occasionally. Parking is easy. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is hygienic, and the service is good throughout.

Not bad, but far from good. I ordered rice noodles with chicken and vegetables, and there weren't any vegetables at all. It also didn't taste like Chinese food, but rather like bland Dutch. The price of €15.00 is acceptable, but I'd rather pay a bit more for slightly better Chinese food.

It’s our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands. The quality is always perfect. The service is very high. We really like traditional Peking Duck and Chicken, also Wan Toun soup is very tasty. We are happy that this restaurant is so close to our house.

Wonderful restaurant and amazing food

Have been coming back for takeout for years, but things have deteriorated considerably. I asked for extra peanut sauce, which I had to pay €2.50 extra for. When I got home I saw that I had not received any extra sauce, so I called to let them know, and they apologized for a new menu instead of looking for a solution. Because I am now without extra sauce even though I paid for it! Also no sauce for the spring roll. Food is not as tasty as a few years ago and the service does not even deserve a star, certainly not recommended. Scammers!

Since the hotel nearby was only equipped for vending machine snacks, we walked about 800 m to this restaurant, even in the rain and wind. It was worth it!

I had an outstanding experience at this Chinese restaurant! Every dish was crafted with high-quality ingredients, and you can really taste the difference. Unfriendly owners. Especially the lady. Not friendly. Been here once and then never again. Food is also not tasty at all.

Old, dilapidated and dull. Food was mainly salty, but otherwise had no nice taste. Service is nice and does its best. Nevertheless, not worth repeating.

I've been coming here for years, actually the best Chinese in Amstelveen so far, especially the spring roll and tenderloin are buttery soft and tender. This time I ordered babi pangang, which was also recommended. The service is always nice and helpful and does not look away, which is sometimes the case in other restaurants.

We went in as a group of 10 and had different meals, the food was delicious and fresh. The juices were also fresh . I had the peking duck and it’s one of the best ducks I have had in a while. My partner had lamb chops in salt and pepper and this was nice too. Portions are quite large too. Well done to the team

The place is nice. The service was not very good: one of us was missing the cutlery and we really had to ask for it because the food was almost arriving; they brought the appetizers before bringing the plates for it (a couple of things likes this, and the place was not very busy). I ate the roasted duck, it comes with 2 souces (I didn't like any of them) and rice/noodles. The duck flavour was very Simple, it seems to miss something, and the noodles were dry. Another friend ate tipan duck, and it was better, my friend liked it. Another friend got "fake" duck and also liked it.

Adjusting a sauce is too much effort, a pity, but it will be my last time here

The restaurant looks cozy, not too massive. The food is very good, the steak (tippan beef) was wonderfully tender. Service very friendly. Recommended! We will definitely come back here again.

Upon arrival... Nothing, good evening customer.?? Not a word... Ordered Tjaptjoy chicken... Nasi much too salty and too dry. Can't find chicken... 4 pieces Vegetables scarce... Never again. After calling back and reading that a lot of people find the contact very unfriendly. Food back tomorrow and money to take home.... Never order from this rude restaurant again. Update Back and collected money....I immediately got a big pout upon entering. Was a hostess!!! 🤮 As a chef, this is the worst food ever at a Chinese. Congratulations for blowing your case.

Picked up food but regretted my €17, almost everything was thrown away. It really wasn't tasty.

Definitely one of the best in the region. The food here is of star quality, although the takeaway offering leaves something to be desired. Everything is super fresh, the service is attentive, it is quiet - you can just have a conversation - and the prices are acceptable, but not cheap. You can pick up, but let your tongue be caressed in the room. Sit back and enjoy it. Experience it and enjoy.

Not really customer friendly service and my dishes were downright bad. Thinking that the champion is on holiday was really tasteless.

Yu Woah at Kostverlorenhof is a great place for lunch and dinner. Parking with blue zone until 6pm.

Wij zijn hier vaak geweest was altijd prima. Maar dit keer was onze bami Pangang zeer vet en niet lekker. Veel knoflook maar geen groente . Ook was de loempia die we daarbij gegeten hadden , was nat en zacht en er zat alleen tauge in. De kip ontbrak. Jammer dat het zo achteruit is gegaan. We komen er in ieder geval niet meer!!

Good food! being a non-dutch speaker was a bit problematic, I didnt understand what they were saying. Also if you need a quick bite, fyi, it wont be very quick. People were all dressed up, almost fine dining.

Altijd vers en lekker. Aanrader is de Peking eend met flensjes. Vriendelijke service. Wij komen hier regelmatig en zijn altijd tevreden.

De beste chinees die er is! Altijd vers, meer dan genoeg, goed gevuld met vlees of vis, goede prijs, de bami is echt zo ontzettend lekker!!! De loempia en de soepen zijn ook heel lekker. Wij halen hier 1x in de week en verheugen ons er altijd op. Super dus!!!

Had telefonisch een bestelling geplaatst en kon krap 10 minuten later al terecht om mijn bestelling af te halen. Nasi is standaard vegetarisch, kip loempia erg lekker. Volgende keer wat anders proberen.

Super lekker eten. We eten hier af en toe en halen ook wel eens wat voor thuis. De beste chinees die ik ken. Zomers kun je ook buiten zitten. Aardige dames.

Wow. That’s absolutely one of the best Chinese restaurants in Amsterdam. Fully authentic and traditional. Amazing food. Never ending menu. Big choice. A lot of dishes to share. Huge portions. Excellent taste. Definitely recommended. Planning to come back very soon

I booked table since we found a restaurant won awards with Chinese cuisine. Unfortunately, the service ruined all experience in restaurant. It looks like restaurant is understaffed and existing waiter is doing just general things.

The communication with the recceptionist was cumbersome and the babi panggang was chewy (but edible).

Essen ist sehr gut, aber für österreichische Verhältnisse viel zu teuer.

Zeer lange wachttijd voor afhalen. Babi pangang zonder atjar besteld en babi pangang zonder saus gekregen. Probeer eens door een bak gortdroog vlees te kauwen. Slechte ervaring.

Lekker gegeten. Prettige bediening

De loempia "speciaal" was niet zo speciaal. De inhoud bestond voor 95 % uit tauge met een friemeltje kip en ei. De babi pangang "van het huis" bestond uit een bak met smakeloos gortdroog vlees met de bekende beker zoetzure saus, De "nassi" was een bak smakeloze witte rijst. Ik zal bij deze dure hier niets meer bestellen
