Very disappointing experience. There was a strong smell of cleaning chemicals throughout the place, which made it unpleasant to eat there. The food was extremely overpriced for the quality provided. The fries appeared to be cooked in old, overused oil and had dark, burnt spots. The chicken did not seem fresh. Overall, this was a very poor dining experience, and I would not recommend this place to others.

Just don't go there, so expensive for nothing

We ate at this place and had a great time. One of the owners is also Italian, and we appreciated the effort he made to speak Italian. I'd say the value for money was excellent. Try it and then judge for yourself. Try their potatoes with cheese, they're... Wow...

Last time, I got a Turkish pizza. To my great disappointment, it had not a single bit of meat in it. It was a Turkish iceberg lettuce pizza, yuck. There were no spices or tasty pieces of meat in it. I come from the beautiful East, where I can get a delicious Turkish pizza for four euros and that comes with spices and meat. The base of this Turkish pizza came straight from Lidl, and I know it, because the one from Lidl is tasty and cheap, unlike this disgrace. Friendly staff, but the food is disgusting and inedible.

Had an excellent meal after the movie at Pathé around 11 pm. Everything was clean and tidy, the food was delicious, and Hany provided excellent service! Great guy. Definitely recommended.

On Google, they say open til 3 AM. On Thuisbezorgd, it's 2AM. Starving, I ordered at midnight on a Monday for a 6,99€ (!) delivery fee, and did not get my food AT ALL. I called them 3 times after 70+ mins of waiting, NO response whatsoever. Took my money, didn't deliver my food, didn't notify me, didn't pick up my calls. Stay away from this "business". Greedy & lazy.

I was here this week around midnight and received excellent service from a friendly gentleman. He was very helpful and the food was delicious. The döner was perfectly made, and the whole place looked spotless, very clean and hygienic. Huge respect for the gentleman who does everything, makes delicious food, and keeps everything so clean and tidy. 7 stars

He wouldn't let me eat my lunch while we were on a school trip. So I bought some dog food that wasn't good, and it still wasn't enough to eat our lunch.

The chicken burger was immaculate flavour to the best, the fries where golden, crispy and lightly seasoned to perfection. A wide range of sauce selections were provided to us, choosing the truffle mayo was an amazing choice elevating the dish to be flavourful and delicious. Overall an amazing experience with lovely customer service. Awesome.

Buy frise with chesse - charge me for 9 - Gave me cold frise whith chesse not melt - when i asked why cold and chese like that he say thats like that - ask for refund he. Kebab de dépanne goes above and beyond, perfectly respecting the "gypsy and chipsy" theme, complete with a cone of fries and gypsy music. Hats off to the owner for the idea, and long live the establishment!

As a good kebab expert, I think this is a very good kebab place. I ate a lot of kebab in my day, and this really brings back the memories. Very nice guy, fast service, and very tasty food. If you want to eat a delicious kebab, this place is highly recommended.

I was here with my family and children on a Sunday evening. Quite a few restaurants were closed, but then I saw this one. The food was delicious, and there was a young man there who was very friendly and did his job very quickly. Definitely coming back!

Very nice place. Everything was good: Kroket (the best), Kaasoufflé , bitterballen, Frikandel. And they worker in the counter was quite friendly. I would come back without problems.

Located across from the Amsterdam flower market, it presents itself as a fast food restaurant, although there's little to no fast about it. The atmosphere is heavily influenced by the fried food, and the smell, though faint, lingers inside. The fries are certainly not the best you'll find in the city, but they're not bad. The staff were very cold and aloof, and even seemed a bit annoyed that we'd shown up right after they opened.

The fries are thick, mushy, and not crispy, but greasy. The large portion is over €7. The service is disinterested. There are no customer restrooms. A CLEAR no-go for us.

Ok… where do i start. Firstly DO NOT EAT here. The food was cold and disgusting and when i noticed i got the wrong order and called it out, the man behind the counter dimply made a sensual jerking motion with his hand towards me. Speaking of the man behind the counter. His unkempt appearance and foul odour made me question if he was actually a worker or a random homeless man who wandered in to the establishment. When i was done and preparing to leave the man whispered to his colleagues and looked at me while gesturing a fondling motion of the breasts (i am a male) which made me feel uncomfortable. NEVER going back.

A Culinary Crime Scene Disguised as a Fry Shop Upon entering this so-called “establishment,” I was greeted by the unmistakable aroma of scorched oil, stale despair, and what I can only assume was the ghost of a forgotten potato. I ordered a portion of French fries—simple, one would think, for even the humblest culinary knave to execute. What I received was not food, but a monument to mediocrity. These fries were less “pommes frites” and more “sticks of regret.” Limp, pale, and glistening with the kind of grease that seems to whisper, “your arteries are mine now,” they collapsed under the weight of their own soggy shame. Seasoning? If one considers the random appearance of something vaguely resembling salt—applied with the restraint of a Victorian nun wielding a pepper shaker—a seasoning, then yes, I suppose they were “seasoned.” The texture can only be described as “pre-chewed.” Each bite offered the thrilling sensation of chewing a damp envelope, while the aftertaste lingered like a bad decision made in a gas station at 2 a.m. The decor did little to distract from this tuberous travesty: flickering fluorescent lights cast the dining area in a hue that made everyone look like they had jaundice, while the walls were adorned with what I can only assume were stolen stock photos of Belgium. A final note: the staff, though friendly, seemed trapped in a Sisyphean nightmare of fry baskets and freezer burns, each one silently pleading for escape through the deadness in their eyes. To summarize: if Dante had known about this place, he would have added a tenth circle of Hell—reserved solely for those who dare to call this mushy abomination a “French fry.” ⭐ (One star, and only because zero isn’t allowed.)

Chipsey king is where dreams come to come true. Heart in my throat, on the streets of Amsterdam, by a quiet bridge I made a proposal. One of love, life, the future of my being to the woman of my dreams. I laid it all out, the good the bad, the crumbs in bed everything. And she said yes. The eve was a blur of photographs, calls home, champagne sipped from plastic cups meandering through the canals as the sunset kissed out skin. We wandered the streets, not knowing where we walked but knowing a lifetime of happiness was before us. Then, as we made for home ready for a sleepless night, pondering what the future may hold we tripped lightly across the window ledge of a chipsey king. The perfect end to a perfect eve. Mediocre. I'm actually a fan of the chipsy king at Leidse Plein. I figured this would be the same, but alas. The price was higher for the big "oorlog". The portion I received was way smaller, felt more like a medium. And there was no double sauce layer, something you do get at Leidse. To conclude the fried also felt way less nice/tasty than Leidse. I wouldn't come here again. Feels a bit tourist trappy

We were “fooled” by the name of the establishment. We thought it was a “prestigious” place for French fries, and what was our surprise when, when we ordered our portions of fries, they charged us €1 for each sauce without any prior notice. In addition, we were served poorly in terms of sauce. Some fries were raw and the saddest thing was the indifference of the employee towards the customers. He just wanted to get his work done and charge. If you are like us and are hungry for a quick snack, believe me, it is better to wait 15 minutes in a queue for the original fries.

During my fantastic trip to Amsterdam I decided to order a hair salon from this culinary heaven. Now, let's be honest, the hair salon wasn't exactly dirty, but I can't imagine Michelin awarding it a star anytime soon. The real showstopper, however, was the service. These enterprising gentlemen - who have clearly followed a masterclass in 'customer friendliness' - spontaneously decided that their hair salon was suddenly worth 13 euros instead of the announced 11. Surprise! So I dutifully paid 20 euros, after which they gave me back a 5 euro note and a 2 euro coin with a beaming smile. Oh, but wait! It gets even better. As icing on the cake, I also received 1 Turkish lira. Yes, a foreign souvenir, especially for me! Apparently they thought that I, as an unsuspecting tourist, could use a lesson in 'Amsterdam hospitality'. Basically, if you're ever craving a mediocre meal and an unexpected math lesson, you know where to go. And that lira? I will cherish that forever. Thanks, guys. What an experience!

If you are in Amsterdam and looking for a snack and a delicious meal, this is a good option. The location of this place, whose potatoes and sauces taste very delicious, is also an advantage that it is in the center of Amsterdam. Nice fries but terrible service. Me and my friend were feeling like getting some fries but were not very hungry. So we both wanted a small portion. When my friend ordered his, the guy behind the counter turned it into a medium portion, costing nearly double the price, I tried to help my friend but the man behind the counter wasn't listening. When I told him I wanted a small portion myself, he said it was a kids portion, and when I said no, it says small portion on the menu, he started asking if I didn't have enough money for a bigger portion. This was extremely offensive as I just wanted a small portion as I wasn't hungry. The guy kept on being disrespectful and joking about the small portion while making the fries for us. In the end my friend couldn't even finish his fries because it was too much for him. Really just a bad experience, will never return here.
