Nice café close to De Burcht! You can either sit out- or inside and take a rest. There is self-service at a counter inside. Small dishes and tasty cakes are offered next to great coffee and other drinks. The café is well populated by students due the relaxing atmosphere in combination with a free and decent internet connection. Go there and enjoy!

The cappuccino is good. I picked up their card to collect stamps, since I often study here and love to get a coffee. Btw, I tried the chicken noodle, bcs I was hungry. But turns put the noodles was cup noodles put in a bowl. 😅 better get their toasty another time

Delicious hot chocolate with whipped cream (and marshmallows). The brownie was a bit dry, but the service more than made up for it!

Lovely and cozy cafe that is part of the public library - great place to study or work, and they serve great coffee. You can also always add cinnamon or biscuits to your order :)

Very unpleasant. The music here is far from under control. Either it's not there, or it's very soft. When it is there it suddenly stops and is turned on again after a while. Quality of the speakers is VERY poor. I hear this from others too. Very unfortunate guys, this is a coffee shop, where we come for the atmosphere and a BIG part of that is nice background music. Silence/no music in a coffee shop is VERY uncomfortable. If we want silence, we sit in the library. Besides, this is just sloppy. Take an example from other CoffeeStars or coffee shops. Oh and the sandwiches are not made the same by everyone. One person makes 2 loaves, the other 3. By the way, place the pastry without foil, in a display cabinet that is visible, so that it looks attractive and you sell more. TIP for the manager/staff: Invest in a good speaker, set the volume so that it is clearly audible EVERYWHERE and not just behind the counter. If it is noisy and the coffee machine turns on more often, turn it up to a volume that is audible to everyone. - Turn on the music from opening time. - Turn on a playlist, so it doesn't turn off every time. - Turn it up loud enough that it can be heard by EVERYONE. - Discuss this with each other.

Fijne, gezellige koffiebar in een pittoresk stukje van Leiden. De koffiemachine maakt wel erg veel herrie, dus een noice-cancelling koptelefoon is een must als je hier wil studeren en/of werken

Finally find this place, wanna come since heard of it. And have passed by the library before, but never happen to find the door successfully. Finally stepped into the library, and had a cap of coffee in the morning. With some people talk, some work, and also some with babies. Lovely. Nice place to recharge, beside the library I'll visit it and spend a whole day next time.

Best double espresso in town with enough ice for my iced coffee :-) The two girls were very polite, correct and helpful. Lovely place. Highly recommended.

FF snel een bakkie als je toch op de Leidse markt rondloopt.

Gezellig en handig dat het bij de bibliotheek is. Het drinken is prima en allerlei lekkernijen zijn goed. De bediening is vriendelijk hoewel niet aan tafel wordt bediend. De laatste keer vond ik de tosti wat droog.

Gezellige mensen achter de bar, fijne sfeer, vooral achter het café ook heerlijke studeer plekken met grote tafels en stroom. Heerlijke koffie, maar niet goedkoop.

really cosy place for great coffee, chai and cakes. when it's crowded you may have to wait in a queue before ordering. it's worth the wait though!

Tea, coffee and tostis are fine. The entrance is around the corner through the library. My only complaint is the floor and the way the chairs sound when slid backwards. It's loud and when a group of people leaves, you can't hear anything else. Especially when reading or studying, this is particularly annoying.
