I spent nearly €20 on coffee and drinks because I urgently needed somewhere to sit and work on my PhD thesis. Only after paying did I find out that laptops are apparently only allowed upstairs. Fine except the upstairs area was completely full. So there I was: €20 poorer, carrying my drinks, with plenty of empty seating downstairs, but still not allowed to open my laptop. How exactly am I supposed to know before paying that the only laptop-friendly area has no available seats? I came in as a paying customer, not to occupy a table for free. Instead, I paid premium café prices and ended up with nowhere I was actually allowed to do the work I came there for. If you’re going to have such a restrictive laptop policy, at the very least make it crystal clear before customers order and pay, or provide an alternative when the designated area is full. Honestly, an incredibly frustrating experience especially when you’re under pressure trying to finish a PhD thesis. I basically paid €20 for the privilege of being told I couldn’t use my laptop.

The coffee was delicious but also a bit pricey. The pastries (cheesecake and shortcake) were unfortunately very disappointing. They were extremely sweet, and the base of the cheesecake was practically pure sugar… A real shame at €5 for a slice. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with a study area and a more casual one. They also provided colored pencils and coloring books—a very cute idea I hadn't seen before. There was also a guestbook, a very charming and innovative touch.

I was here on a Friday afternoon with two others. They have delicious coffee and many varieties. Fresh cake and other treats. You can sit inside or outside.

Great coffee and pastries in cool seating areas

Coffee Company is a nice spot for a coffee break, with a nice interior and a great location along the canal. The outdoor seating is a bit limited and fairly basic, with simple metal chairs that aren’t the most comfortable if you plan to stay for a while. We tried the iced matcha latte and the iced chai latte. The matcha was sweet, refreshing, and enjoyable, while the chai was a bit disappointing. It lacked the spicy chai flavor and wasn’t sweet at all, which was a shame considering the price. Overall, it’s definitely on the expensive side, but still a pleasant place to grab a coffee to go.

Ordered a red smoothie which was supposed to contain berries and banana. It tasted terrible and not like any strawberry or blueberries as they said

Arrogant staff (the girl with pink hair). Didn’t even say hi. I ordered iced coffee but it came hot. Also, i ordered to take away. My order came with their in-house cup. When i told her nicely, she didnt care and just left me behind.

This store earn its five stars the minute they offered me free tap water. Highly unusual here in the Netherlands, but on top of that: actual air conditioning that feels cold. Nice relaxed atmosphere and nice staff that handled our order. Good was average but everything else made up for it

The matcha was excellent—smooth, well balanced, and very enjoyable. The atmosphere of the cafe was lovely and relaxing, making it a great place to sit back and enjoy a drink. I enjoyed it so much that I even bought a matcha kit to take home. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would happily visit again.

Always a good cappuccino. Strong and warm. But it really is time to make the small outdoor terrace smoke-free.

One of the few cafe that lets you work on your laptop, there are laptop free tables too, which is balancing both. I like the lively vibe in the cafe especially it is centrally located in Utrecht. Other things I like is that they have various sizes for your drinks and also no additional costs for plant-based milk which I find amazing.

Yes, I live in France and then I come to Utrecht and am shocked by the coffee prices. I was able to sit outside with my coffee, though.

The waitresses were quite rude. Nobody smiled, nobody tried to understand. The red velvet cake was just okay, rather dry. It's a good place to work, but the prices are outrageous… a small Americano is €4… just okay. But they do have plenty of milk options :)

They do the most incredible blueberry matcha iced latte. The atmosphere is always spot on and the staff are always kind.

Great coffee shop in a central location in the heart of Utrecht. It wasn't incredibly busy on a Saturday afternoon, so we were helped immediately. It was a memorable day, because I decided to order my first matcha. It was high time for a new yu-upgrade in my life. At the staff's recommendation, I ordered an iced matcha with mango. This iced matcha was delicious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back for a matcha or a delicious coffee! Highly recommended.

REALLY good coffee, matcha is also delicious, especially with blueberry. It reminds me of Blank Street Coffee in New York (my favorite oat coffee spot). I ordered a slice of cake for €4 and something and got a really big one! The people behind the counter are also super chill and friendly. It's also a great place to work.

The cafe is super cute. There is a great atmosphere with work areas. It's a great option when you want a drink, a sweet treat when you read a book or answer few email. It is located in a very touristy area of ​​the city. The price is higher than other cafés.

Visited today after having a good experience in the store in The Hague. The customer service we experienced in Utrecht was appalling. Two of our toasties were placed in the oven (by someone with “pink” space buns) who then didn’t tell anyone they were there and left the building with trash - leaving our food to burn. We approached the counter and spoke to someone with “blonde” hair who advised they would bring them to our table. They didn’t. “Spacebuns” came back in and was informed by “blonde” that they had left our toasties. They both laughed whilst scraping off the burnt parts before brining them to us. No apology, no offer of “new” toasties and we were told to “enjoy” the food! Definitely won’t be returning

LAPTOP FRIENDLY!!!! A bit more expensive but it was worth it for being able to plug in and work well. White chocolate latte - more expensive and it was just a mocha. Yum toastie and good size - €7

The staff do everything they can to make you feel as uncomfortable as possible... Before they even say goodbye, they've already listened to you twice and laughed at you a few times.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the cake, which clearly came from pre-made molds and was served frozen, even after being placed on the plate. For a café, we expected more freshness and quality. However, the coffee was very good and nicely prepared.

While the matcha was a bit underwhelming and lacked the bold flavor you were hoping for, the shortcake was outstanding—perfectly made and truly delicious. The standout was the service: friendly, helpful, and respectful of dietary concerns. The staff went the extra mile to check ingredients, which is always appreciated. The interior was also lovely and inviting. Overall, a very good spot with room for improvement in the drinks.

Slow service. Bring enough time just place an order as a non local. At table menu via scan and order. When you are finally ready to place your order you will find a) you HAVE to pay online and b) they accept only ONE online payment service which you may have to sign up to. Therefore we had to get up again, stand in line for another 7 minutes. The 3 different Matcha were very tasty but pricy too. A good thing so is that you are charged 10ct extra for take away plastic waste if ordering to go.

The baristas are just chatting with each other, it takes them 10 minutes to make 1 coffee. A rare disorderly mess here. In addition: it is incomprehensible that customers here are allowed to walk very fast and make video calls. It is of course fine that people work on their laptops. But every time I sit here, people act as if they are the only ones in the world and are disturbing the entire place with their loud video calls. Coffee Company allows this. The toilet is always dirty and there are almost never any paper towels.

Guaranteed the grossest toilet in Utrecht. There used to be a sign that said you had to report it if the toilet was dirty, but even that is no longer there. If the NVWA were to inspect here, they would have to close the place. In addition, the slowness of the baristas is unparalleled.

Unfortunately, ordering via QR code is not really my thing. It is convenient, but there is little or no contact with the barista(s). While service in the form of making contact and chatting is so important, it makes the customer feel heard and seen. I had to pick a location for a casual business meeting. Since we both enjoy a good coffee we decided to try this place. The atmosphere was really nice. It was very cozy and relaxed while leaving plenty of room for good conversations. They had special seats dedicated to talking and others dedicated to working so that you wont disturb others. The coffee was really good. You can customize it if you want, but I enjoy the simplicity so I went with a capuchino. They have foods as well in case you want a bite. It was pretty busy, but not too crowded. Most importantly, it wasn't noisy.

I don't understand how coffee can taste so weak, jus de chaussettes is the closest approximation of the brew I got, if you have to cough up 8.60 for 2 coffees, you can still have a cookie with it... Nice tent with a wide range of drinks. The only downside for me is the cat that walks around freely. For a catering industry where food is prepared, I find this a bit strange given the diseases that animals can spread.

Usually I experienced good service in here, but today I went to the cafe, and the one of the staffs was very unwelcoming. From getting order, payment to the closing, never felt they have a good service. Very disappointing service because of the one staff, while the other staff who I assume a barista was very nice. Hope the service improves in the future. It is not that you should always smile and be perfect to the customer as they are not customers’ entertainer. She was not even fit into the bare minimum. I understand it is very busy time and they are physically and mentally tired, but don’t have to spread the bad energy to the customer. Just don’t be rude to customer :) which is basic.

Love this location of coffee company. I always come here to study and pesto the cat is a daily regular who helps by taking naps on your lap.

Good spot for remote working! There are cooler and warmer spots, the WiFi is good enough, and there are plenty of sockets in reach to charge your laptop.

I had a matcha lemonade, and a lemon bar. The lemonade was fine, nothing special. The lemon bar was really tasty although a bit on the pricey side. Unfortunately it is a noisy environment. Coffee machines sounds and talking is expected of course, but the music is rather loud (lots of bass). It's also pretty warm inside. The general atmosphere was relaxed, there's a black cat snoozing on one of the benches.

I just had a coffee and a cappuccino and asked for water for the dog. You collect the order and bring it to the table and then bring everything back when you're finished.

Great place for working or studying. Most coffee shops are small/cozy with limited seating, but this is somewhere you can easily find space to work. Four different seating areas on the first floor alone, plus seating upstairs and outside. There are also outlets at the long table downstairs, which is a huge plus. Coffee is great (can’t speak for the food; didn’t order any—but they have a cheap breakfast + coffee option on the menu👍👍), and baristas are nice. Good music playing, and it’s not too loud. Also, no speakers in the area where I’m sitting (long table downstairs), which I love because it’s not distracting or too loud to take calls. WiFi is free/unsecured and seems to have a strong signal. No issues so far.

Above average coffee place, with a good machine and pro staff. The food they have for a quick bite is quite unhealthy but tasty. The atmosphere is nice and modern, with surprisingly lot of spaces to sit which is nice. My feedback would be: add more vegan, lactose free, and/or healthy snack options instead :)

Coffee was ok. But what I have to comment on is the service. I’ve worked in customer service around the same age as the employees of this place. I understand it’s difficult when it’s busy and you’re under a lot of stress. But one of them really lost their cool this morning and was quite rude - which by the way takes away the complete object of the message they were trying to get across in the first place. Anyways, it’s not a good look. And it creates a bit of an anecdotal story that can be shared with friends and acquaintances. The benefit of the doubt has to be given but the moral of the story has to be to treat every single customer with respect when trying to get across any kind of message. That’s surely the bare minimum no?
