Disinterested staff. Just chatting away. The coffee was disappointing. The croissant was nice.

It was taking a long time and very unpleasant. We left!

The atmosphere was fine, but the food and service were a bit disappointing. The two of us had made a reservation for brunch at 11:00. We ordered our first drink at 11:15 and indicated we wanted something to eat, which arrived at 11:35. The coffee had been sitting there for a while because it wasn't hot anymore. Then we took our order at 12:15, received our food at 12:30, and immediately ordered a second cup of coffee. The food was fine, but not prepared with much care. We had the acai bowl ourselves. It was far too runny and had a very dark color. But that was fine, as we were quite hungry by then. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff did apologize for the crowds at the end.

We went there for breakfast. They had a very good coffee selection. We ate cheese toasties, a croissant with eggs, and yogurt with muesli and fruit. There was also freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything was delicious.

Its a nice cafe with a cosy environment, and nice coffee. However, it is absolutely CRAZY to charge 2.5 per hour to use laptops, especially in a student city.

Very disappointed with my experience here. Had ordered a cortado and the barista told me to wait at a table and he would bring it over. Was thinking about ordering and seeing the breakfast options while the cortado was brewing but no one came to my table. Waited for 15 minutes and out of the corner of my eye saw the staff were serving other patrons and completely forgot my order. Moreover, the table where I was sitting at wasn't cleaned up and the last patrons' orders were still at the table, uncollected and no one came to clean the table. The young baristas did apologize when I came up to the coffee bar but it was a little too late by then. Ordered the cortado to go. The least the barista could have done was give the cortado on the house. Have advised all my friends, both Dutch and international, to avoid this place because of this gross negligence

Relaxed atmosphere. Attention and quality to the customer and the dishes. Delicious coffee. The menu isn't too extensive, which I appreciate.

The most lace is ok. The food was mid. I got a breakfast and the cheese on my egg was plastic American kind (no offence USA but the cheese is terrible). The service lady was smilie at least. Especially when she informed me that in order to keep the place cosy they put people with laptops at the front window(with only one plug at the corner). I was not aware that my laptop broke feng shui rules but their cafe their choice I guess. Until you realise: They CHARGE for using your laptop. 2.5€ without informing you prior. Tldr: don’t bother there is another caffe at the next corner.

The coffee is excellent. As soon as you sit down, even before placing your order, they bring you a glass of water. They have their own pastries, and much of what they serve is freshly prepared on the spot once you order. Because of this, the waiting time can be a bit longer, but never too long. On one occasion, after a slightly longer wait, I was even given a free cinnamon roll. The atmosphere is wonderful, especially if you manage to get a table with a bench in the corner.

Latte tasted like smoked salmon because glass wasn't properly washed. Service is not great and slow. They didn't have time to clean the table.

Had cake and a single espresso. The cake was absolutely terrific. The espresso was lovely also, but there was only one type of beans to choose from. Roasted by local roaster Keen. As a coffee shop that doesn’t roast its own beans, Cupp does a very good job. There were a few bean references from Keen roaster available for sale along with funky beans from a roaster in Amsterdam. If you want a friendly coffee shop and good coffee, this is a perfect spot. If you are a coffee snob and seek more bean choices, maybe aim for roaster Keen’s coffee shops instead.

Always the best Flat White coffee in town. The staff is very friendly and the seat by the windows are very comfortable. Perfect for a chat with friends or some solo time reading or daydreaming

Great little find on our quick trip to Utrecht. Smoothie bowl was super fresh & filling (although I could have eaten ladles of that peanut butter!) and the cheesy eggs on the breakfast were 💯

We often visit specialty coffee shops with good food. However, we were very disappointed here – the coffee was extremely sour, which suggests that the grinder wasn’t properly adjusted. The kitchen also didn’t look very clean. The food didn’t taste good at all – the egg wasn’t fresh and had just been reheated. Unfortunately, we can’t recommend this place.

It was a bit disappointing. First of all the plates were not completely clean and then the waitress threw the spoon on the table for no reason and forgot 1 product ordered. I really wouldn't recommend it at all. Go somewhere else.

We were there on Sunday morning just before driving home. The waitress was super friendly and the service was perfect. The coffee and food were very tasty. And the latte art looks really great! If we're in the area again, we'll definitely stop by for a coffee!☕️❤️

I recently visited this café and wanted to share my thoughts. Unfortunately, I found the overall appearance of the place to be a bit unkempt. There were used dishes left on some tables, and I even noticed a napkin on the floor, which gave the space a less-than-ideal impression. Additionally, I observed that in the preparation area, there was quite a bit of clutter on the floor, and a plant appeared to be poorly cared for. The staff, however, were very friendly, though the service was somewhat slow. The menu selection was quite varied, offering a good range of options. The dishes I tried were delicious, but I must mention that I found the prices to be very high for what was offered. Additionally, the drinks were served first, which meant they were already empty by the time the food arrived. Overall, while the café has potential, I believe there are some areas for improvement, particularly in terms of cleanliness, the maintenance of the dining space, and the timing of the service.

Een leuk koffiehuis op een leuke hoek - echt hele goeie koffie gedronken daar - met andere woorden dit zijn toch betere koffiehuizen in Utrecht en veel keus op de Menukaart.

Came here for a quick bite and a drink. The homemade iced tea is really yummy. I also ordered a toastie—it was good, but the prep time took 20 minutes. Not the fastest, but overall, a nice environment.

A great place to go if you're a coffee lover, like my husband. It has a rich coffee beans menu and a diversity of methods too. It offers cup sessions, which can be really fun for those who love enjoying coffee. I choose the matcha latte, and was great. I didn't love the banan bread and the options of sweets offer, but it seems to me that the strong point of the place is the coffee, so I undestand this isn't a serious problem.

Seriously the best tpk I've ever had

Not very satisfied with this place. I ordered a mint tea but it was about not well brewed since the water was entirely clear and tasted just like water. I wanted to answer some emails on my laptop but then the waiter asked me to move to another place designed for laptop use. While sitting there I noticed that they had small signs saying that you can use your laptop for a fee of €2,50 per hour. To he fair, I think that is very greedy! I paid for my warm water and left. I would not go here again!

In the last days of the old year I join Cupp. A spot at the long bar in front of the window offers a view of the busy street. Behind the counter are two young women who are clearly looking forward to their work today! I order a flat white with beautiful latte art and firm milk foam, #topper. For lunch a sandwich with pulled chicken. This is served quickly and has a nice taste, good quantity, although the dressing is quite spicy. I enjoy it for a while with another flat white. Nice place with a good vibe, I would love to come back here!

I tried the coffee and banana bread. They were both quite bad. Coffee was too acidic and the banana bread was soggy!

The food was superb! Everything was fresh and tasted great. The High tea was great, with a choice of luxurious teas (including fresh ginger tea and mint tea). Very friendly staff, we arrived late and the table was still reserved for us. Recommended!

November 2024 What a lovely place and how nice you can sit and relax here. Not the fastest service but one of the nicest (also more important) cappuccino could use a bit more 'kick' other than that good.

Vented here and it was wonderful. Friendly employees! The tables were clean but there were a bit too many food scraps on the floor.

Lovely tasty coffee with a little note to tell you about the coffee also. Rare to find a nice place to sit and enjoy coffee from people who know their stuff.

At first glance it seems like a nice place to go with two lovely hostesses. Unfortunately, the crowds seriously bothered them. We had to wait more than an hour for our order and in the meantime the stress only increased. At that time, people were also leaving again, because the waiting time just to order was starting to get very high. Finally received our food. It wasn't bad, but definitely not worth waiting so long for. I wouldn't go back there right away. Shame... Note: received an apology from the two girls and received a pastry on the house

Had vegan high tea, not recommended. Cupp seems to be mainly known for good coffee in the reviews, but I can't judge it myself because I haven't had one. They could also better focus on coffee, because this high tea hardly had any tea (from memory a total of 8 flavors). They only had 2 types of white tea on the menu, one of which was not yet available, while you have to reserve the high tea at least 24 hours in advance! I think this is downright bad service. In addition, the tea was served with a kind of plastic sieve attachment, which I not only didn't think looked very clean, but the strength of the tea varied enormously per cup (my tea had hardly any smell or taste; jasmine tea). High tea was vegan possible, which I like, but then I found the snacks disappointing. Kimchi sandwich was tasty, the zucchini "feta" was too spicy for me, the guacamole was literally mashed avocado without any flavor and the bowl of fruit wasn't even overnight oats, but literally just a bowl of fruit. Later we got a small smoothie, so that's not in the photo. The sweet stuff was generally quite dry and the banana bread/brownie smelled and tasted the same; tasteless and too bitter, so not tasty and we left it behind. When I made a comment about it, the response was "we use almond flour, which is indeed less sweet and may have less flavor". If you don't like this, just make it with regular flour. I didn't like the atmosphere either. Very small and noisy, does not feel warm and there was a cleaning/toilet smell when we entered. Didn't find it inviting. And especially for a high tea, too limited tea and snacks and therefore not worth the money. We won't be coming back here.

A truly wonderful cafe! The coffee was excellent and the food was equally delicious. Particularly noteworthy is the exceptional friendliness of the employees - you feel completely at home here! 😊

The cappuccino I had was one of the best I've had. The Ethiopian coffee had a lovely light & subtle flavour.

Mi hotel no ofrece desayuno. Caminé a Cupp alrededor de las 8. 30 am. Cuando entré me hicieron sentir como en casa. Pedí un desayuno americano negro y el huevo después de una breve conversación sobre café de origen único. El café era sabroso (uno de los mejores que tuve en mis vacaciones) y la comida era excelente, de gran sabor y muy llena. Me preparó muy bien para el viaje de casi 10 horas a casa en Eurostar al Reino Unido. El personal, cuyo nombre lamentablemente no pillé, era atento y muy bueno. La comida llegó rápido. Recomendaría este establecimiento para el desayuno.

Food of quality and stuff very friendly. But If you are looking for a place to drink a coffee and relax, this might be not a good one; it could be bit noisy and the kind/level of music doesn’t help.

Really nice visit on a warm Saturday afternoon. Awesome food, drink and service was appreciated by all the family. My wife was also very positive about the great changing facilities for our baby. All round highly recommended!

Nice café, nice service staff, but they couldn't answer questions about the coffees offered at the table (origin and degree of roasting of the beans, which beans are used for which drink). However, connoisseurs of light roasted third wave coffee will not be happy here - the espresso (Ethiopian Natural) tasted burnt and no fruity notes could be detected. In the Flat White (Peru), tar and burnt coal dominated. The Indonesian cold brew was the most convincing.

Nice place for a high quality cup of coffees I usually go to the other location, this one is a bit smaller but has a lovely atmosphere. The carrot cake was amazing! Can also recommend the iced cappuccino.

I stopped by for an iced cappuccino in a warm day, a nice place to have a hit up.

Taking your laptop costs €2.50 per hour, and is only allowed at a small desk by the window. Strangely enough, the €3.40 250ml cappucino fit into a 150ml take-away cup. The bar staff are nice, but the rules of this place are inhospitable and you are cheated on the sizes.

Worst cafe I have ever been to! They ask you to pay 7 euros an hour if you want to work on your laptop. Fair enough, although it is outrageous if you are a student to have to pay 21-28 hours to stay there for an afternoon. Second of all, I had a migraine and had to take medicine. I used my own water bottle to do so. The owner came up to me to tell me rudely that I will not be allowed to drink my own water and must purchase their water. I already paid for my coffee, you already make (too much) money off of that, don't get greedy with the water. I understand that you have to make money, but you don't have to be so blatantly greedy towards customers! Other cafes never do this because they know it will drive customers away. I will never come back and I tell my friends to avoid this place! Greedy, rude people

Very nice atmosphere. There was a lot going on, so it was very loud. Wrong drink brought. And it's not all cheap, but it's normal for the Netherlands now, just like it is for us.

Caffee location is really nice and near by city center. The service was relly good there, we were in this coffee first time. My first impression was very possitive. 🤩 I love flatwhite - really good taste of coffee. And they have also a lots of coffee types. Som you have a rich selection. And what about food? Very lovely and deliciius combination for this sendwitch. 😋 Bread was aspecially fluffy and fresh. They have also a big sellection af home made cakes and sweets - good combo with great coffee. Inside it was little bit small and crowded, but it is cosy place there.

A lovely and warm atmosphere. This is because of the two ladies that were working at the time. Very courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. For them it wasn’t just work - they enjoyed being there. I tried a latte with pea milk and it was delicious! The veggie salad was also delicious. The tosti looked amazing!

Loved their speciality coffee. One of the best I tried in the Netherlands. Thanks to the Barista for taking care in preparing such a great tasting coffee and the precise caffeine extraction out of every coffee bean.
