Great specialty coffee, great food. Was there on Monday afternoon 6 July. The one big negative was staffing: there was just one barista working while the shop was entirely full. The barista did AMAZING, but waiting times were too long, all the guests were impacted. There should be at least one additional employee/barista helping out

We had dinner at the Cupp this morning. It was a fantastic experience. The service was excellent; we were first offered a glass of water, coffee recommendations, and were asked several times how it tasted. We had a breakfast table for two, and it was beautifully set. The atmosphere is pleasant, the waitress and barista are friendly, and the service is fast. Also very nice, we received a card with our coffee detailing where it came from, how it tastes, and which season it suits. We would love to come back here again!

I really love the “Cupp”. My friend and I are here every week to speak Dutch. The staff are very attentive. They recognize us and speak extra Dutch with us, so that I learn even more. The coffee is super tasty and the latte art is always very beautiful. When the weather is warm, the fresh smoothies are also super tasty. Thank you for your work! Love, Sofia & Manuela

such a little gem of a coffee shop! we came here on a saturday afternoon with the hopes of watching arsenal women in their semi final game against lyon on our laptop. there was a designated workbench for people with laptops, overlooking the streets, and a small fee to use the wifi (which we were happy to pay). the lady who served us was incredibly friendly, showing an interest in the game, and allowing us to stay a few minutes past closing until the game finished. not only was the service excellent, but the coffee was too! thanks for such a personable experience.

We had a lovely Easter brunch with the family at Cupp!! It was delicious and the service was incredibly friendly. We wanted to make a reservation in advance for one more person than was actually possible, but that was no problem at all. Everything was perfectly arranged! The brunch consisted of a nice mix of savory and sweet, including granola with yogurt, sourdough bread with avocado & salmon, croissants, carrot cake, and brownies.

We ordered cake to take away. Very delicious and highly recommended.

Stopped by Cupp for a quick coffee and was pleasantly surprised. The espresso was smooth and well-balanced, and the staff were friendly without being overbearing. Cozy atmosphere, although it can get a bit busy sometimes and seating is limited. A nice spot if you just want good coffee without the hassle ;)

Had a wonderful experience! The staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. A perfect place to spend a day chatting. The staff knows how to work hard but also makes time for a friendly conversation. A bite to eat is definitely recommended, and you really can't resist the homemade pastries! All in all, a great place!

Cozy place with friendly staff. However, I've had the filter coffee several times now, and it was lukewarm every time, which unfortunately made the taste disappointing.

Got coffee twice, both times really not good. The last filter batch brew was lukewarm and sour, and the cappuccino (decaf) was very sour, I didn't drink it. I won't be back.

We had a wonderful high tea! Very different from the standard high teas, much tastier. Delicious things: avocado sandwiches with a poached egg and pulled chicken. The bread itself is also delicious! The pistachio croissant was surprisingly good, not as overpowering and sweet as you might expect. Homemade juice, yogurt with fruit and granola, and various sweets. The coffee is also delicious! Very nice and friendly staff. They came by a few times to ask if everything was to our liking and if we wanted more tea. Because we only ordered one tea, we got a second cup of coffee for free when we paid (we hadn't asked for it), which was very kind. If we had to complain about anything, it could use a bit more cleaning. The windows were very dirty and the fabric-covered chairs had stains. But otherwise, it looks nice and the atmosphere is great. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely go back!

Great place! Tip: provide a lid for takeaway coffee, especially in the cold, or leave the lids in a visible place so customers don't have to ask.

Visited them in Utrecht, it a nice cozy cafe with nice ambience. Their homemade carrot cake was just amazing and so was their coffee.

This place has a serious ventilation problem. The air inside is unbearable. Also, all of the chairs are dirty. Either food crumbs or stains. It needs some maintenance and cleaning every now and then during the day.

Disinterested staff. Just chatting away. The coffee was disappointing. The croissant was nice.

The atmosphere was fine, but the food and service were a bit disappointing. The two of us had made a reservation for brunch at 11:00. We ordered our first drink at 11:15 and indicated we wanted something to eat, which arrived at 11:35. The coffee had been sitting there for a while because it wasn't hot anymore. Then we took our order at 12:15, received our food at 12:30, and immediately ordered a second cup of coffee. The food was fine, but not prepared with much care. We had the acai bowl ourselves. It was far too runny and had a very dark color. But that was fine, as we were quite hungry by then. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff did apologize for the crowds at the end.

We went there for breakfast. They had a very good coffee selection. We ate cheese toasties, a croissant with eggs, and yogurt with muesli and fruit. There was also freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything was delicious.

Its a nice cafe with a cosy environment, and nice coffee. However, it is absolutely CRAZY to charge 2.5 per hour to use laptops, especially in a student city.

Very disappointed with my experience here. Had ordered a cortado and the barista told me to wait at a table and he would bring it over. Was thinking about ordering and seeing the breakfast options while the cortado was brewing but no one came to my table. Waited for 15 minutes and out of the corner of my eye saw the staff were serving other patrons and completely forgot my order. Moreover, the table where I was sitting at wasn't cleaned up and the last patrons' orders were still at the table, uncollected and no one came to clean the table. The young baristas did apologize when I came up to the coffee bar but it was a little too late by then. Ordered the cortado to go. The least the barista could have done was give the cortado on the house. Have advised all my friends, both Dutch and international, to avoid this place because of this gross negligence

Relaxed atmosphere. Attention and quality to the customer and the dishes. Delicious coffee. The menu isn't too extensive, which I appreciate.

The most lace is ok. The food was mid. I got a breakfast and the cheese on my egg was plastic American kind (no offence USA but the cheese is terrible). The service lady was smilie at least. Especially when she informed me that in order to keep the place cosy they put people with laptops at the front window(with only one plug at the corner). I was not aware that my laptop broke feng shui rules but their cafe their choice I guess. Until you realise: They CHARGE for using your laptop. 2.5€ without informing you prior. Tldr: don’t bother there is another caffe at the next corner.

The coffee is excellent. As soon as you sit down, even before placing your order, they bring you a glass of water. They have their own pastries, and much of what they serve is freshly prepared on the spot once you order. Because of this, the waiting time can be a bit longer, but never too long. On one occasion, after a slightly longer wait, I was even given a free cinnamon roll. The atmosphere is wonderful, especially if you manage to get a table with a bench in the corner.

Latte tasted like smoked salmon because glass wasn't properly washed. Service is not great and slow. They didn't have time to clean the table.

Had cake and a single espresso. The cake was absolutely terrific. The espresso was lovely also, but there was only one type of beans to choose from. Roasted by local roaster Keen. As a coffee shop that doesn’t roast its own beans, Cupp does a very good job. There were a few bean references from Keen roaster available for sale along with funky beans from a roaster in Amsterdam. If you want a friendly coffee shop and good coffee, this is a perfect spot. If you are a coffee snob and seek more bean choices, maybe aim for roaster Keen’s coffee shops instead.

Always the best Flat White coffee in town. The staff is very friendly and the seat by the windows are very comfortable. Perfect for a chat with friends or some solo time reading or daydreaming

Great little find on our quick trip to Utrecht. Smoothie bowl was super fresh & filling (although I could have eaten ladles of that peanut butter!) and the cheesy eggs on the breakfast were 💯

We often visit specialty coffee shops with good food. However, we were very disappointed here – the coffee was extremely sour, which suggests that the grinder wasn’t properly adjusted. The kitchen also didn’t look very clean. The food didn’t taste good at all – the egg wasn’t fresh and had just been reheated. Unfortunately, we can’t recommend this place.

It was a bit disappointing. First of all the plates were not completely clean and then the waitress threw the spoon on the table for no reason and forgot 1 product ordered. I really wouldn't recommend it at all. Go somewhere else.

We were there on Sunday morning just before driving home. The waitress was super friendly and the service was perfect. The coffee and food were very tasty. And the latte art looks really great! If we're in the area again, we'll definitely stop by for a coffee!☕️❤️

I recently visited this café and wanted to share my thoughts. Unfortunately, I found the overall appearance of the place to be a bit unkempt. There were used dishes left on some tables, and I even noticed a napkin on the floor, which gave the space a less-than-ideal impression. Additionally, I observed that in the preparation area, there was quite a bit of clutter on the floor, and a plant appeared to be poorly cared for. The staff, however, were very friendly, though the service was somewhat slow. The menu selection was quite varied, offering a good range of options. The dishes I tried were delicious, but I must mention that I found the prices to be very high for what was offered. Additionally, the drinks were served first, which meant they were already empty by the time the food arrived. Overall, while the café has potential, I believe there are some areas for improvement, particularly in terms of cleanliness, the maintenance of the dining space, and the timing of the service.

Came here for a quick bite and a drink. The homemade iced tea is really yummy. I also ordered a toastie—it was good, but the prep time took 20 minutes. Not the fastest, but overall, a nice environment.

A great place to go if you're a coffee lover, like my husband. It has a rich coffee beans menu and a diversity of methods too. It offers cup sessions, which can be really fun for those who love enjoying coffee. I choose the matcha latte, and was great. I didn't love the banan bread and the options of sweets offer, but it seems to me that the strong point of the place is the coffee, so I undestand this isn't a serious problem.

Seriously the best tpk I've ever had

Not very satisfied with this place. I ordered a mint tea but it was about not well brewed since the water was entirely clear and tasted just like water. I wanted to answer some emails on my laptop but then the waiter asked me to move to another place designed for laptop use. While sitting there I noticed that they had small signs saying that you can use your laptop for a fee of €2,50 per hour. To he fair, I think that is very greedy! I paid for my warm water and left. I would not go here again!

In the last days of the old year I join Cupp. A spot at the long bar in front of the window offers a view of the busy street. Behind the counter are two young women who are clearly looking forward to their work today! I order a flat white with beautiful latte art and firm milk foam, #topper. For lunch a sandwich with pulled chicken. This is served quickly and has a nice taste, good quantity, although the dressing is quite spicy. I enjoy it for a while with another flat white. Nice place with a good vibe, I would love to come back here!

I tried the coffee and banana bread. They were both quite bad. Coffee was too acidic and the banana bread was soggy!

The food was superb! Everything was fresh and tasted great. The High tea was great, with a choice of luxurious teas (including fresh ginger tea and mint tea). Very friendly staff, we arrived late and the table was still reserved for us. Recommended!

November 2024 What a lovely place and how nice you can sit and relax here. Not the fastest service but one of the nicest (also more important) cappuccino could use a bit more 'kick' other than that good.
