Commune Restaurant in Schiphol

Expensive with very mediocre food. I think its better just to stay in the airport restaurants and eat for less as the quality is similar. IF you just want a quieter spot then it is a place to vet away from the hustle of the terminal areas.

Wanted to avoid the main airport restaurants, so I tried Commune after reading some decent reviews. I arrived 15 minutes before the lunch menu started and was told only breakfast orders were available. The menu was very limited - mainly sandwiches, wraps, croissants, and pastries. I asked for a wrap, but they were out, so I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. It arrived within a minute, clearly premade earlier and starting to go stale. The sandwich cost €9.50 with no side - overpriced for something you’d expect at a petrol station café, maybe slightly better, but definitely not worth it, even by airport standards. That said, the restaurant itself is really nice - quiet, comfortable, and a good place to relax if you have a long wait. The staff were excellent, friendly, and professional.

Food was decent, but really disappointing service. Restaurant closes at 11. We showed up at 9:00 and the waitress seemed reluctant to serve us—tried to direct us to a different restaurant at the same hotel. We took a seat anyway because we were already there. After that, service was mixed, but here’s the kicker: by about 9:45 the wait staff disappear. There’s still four active tables but not a server to be seen, so we can’t order dessert. At 10:05–after 20 minutes—I hail someone to order a dessert. He goes to inquire (of the same gal who initially sat us) and then reports back, “We do have that, but I’m sorry to report that the kitchen is closed.” So basically the wait staff slow baked everyone by not visiting the tables, then claimed “Sorry, we’re closed” when a customer tried to place a dessert order—55 minutes before the restaurant is scheduled to close. A proper server would’ve visited all active tables before the kitchen closed to make sure they were square, but these folks—particularly the gal who seated us—clearly just wanted to get out of there early.

Opening hours on Google are wrong :-( It says it close at 23 but at 22 kitchen Is already close

Had the steak, it was delicious. Served with super fresh vegetables. Also, the restaurant is really just a couple minutes walk from the terminal, worth the trip!

Overall nice restaurant, cosy, great if your on a transfer have time and want a real good meal. My burger was great, I don’t recommend getting the double one unless you can eat 4 burger patties 😂. So just get the normal one as it comes with two. Steak was good, same with the soup. service was really friendly but some seem unsure or unexperienced. They asked about 4 times about an item we ordered, and they mistook black tea for black coffee. But they solved the issues. Bathroom is very clean. We had to ask twice for a check Expensive. But it’s a nice place

A perfect place to come for a pre-flight meal. The happy hour offers good value, the food is tasty and the staff is always friendly. Angeline gets a special shoutout for being super attentive!

The steak was cooked nicely and the meet was soft. The peppercorn sauce was also very tasty.

Mediocre food quality. Bad service guys. The asian ladies (one worked at the bar and one as service) were great though and made up what the others didn’t.

I was not going to put a review, but the kindness of the waiters made me want to write. While the food was good, though nothing special, the staff was exceptional. They were extremely friendly and attentive. I forgot my AirPods, but a waiter, whose name sounded like Mid, ran to find me in the corridor to return them. He was wearing a gray suit. His kindness and effort truly stood out—give this guy a bonus!

Bad service, poor food and expensive.

My co-worker and I have now had the worst steak ever at a price of 42 Euro each! Was supposed to be ribeye, but not a single bite was tender. The waiter was kind, and we didn’t ask for a new as we had to fly… no compensation.

If you need to rest for a few hours at ams airport Actually you can come here I had to stay at ams airport for five hours because my flight was delayed I have seen this restaurant commune in other countries. This is my first time trying it. The food is pretty good. In addition, if it is difficult to find this restaurant on the map in AMS, then remember to look for the entrance of the Sheraton Hotel. They are two restaurants together.

Extremely tasty lunch while waiting for my flight out of Schiphol, with friendly and attentive service. Highly recommend the Gouden Brood beer, too! Will definitely stop by again.

Mame at the bar was very helpful and friendly. She was a pleasure and a very welcoming person after a vey long night flying in from the States. Thank You very much Ms Mame You were a very welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the airport!!

Very nice restraunt in the Sheraton at the airport. The pizza was very tasty. My wife had the chicken and it was good as well. I would come again. Apple Pie was excellent.

It looks closed but is actually open and a really relaxed fibe compared to the chaos of the airport. Friendly personel!

The Commune restaurant is located in the Sheraton Hotel at the airport. We wanted something filling but good. My husband had a delicious burger & fries. I had the Dutch Pea Soup with ham. Best I have tasted! Service was quick and I loved the atmosphere

I'm still unsure about the number of stars and have decided to give the food 3 instead of 4. We have been coming here to eat before departure or after arrival for years. The location has now been renovated and it has become beautiful. The service is friendly, but the price has also risen enormously. Great if you get value for your money. The reason for the 3 stars is mainly the €18 bouncer. These are 3 eggs, so you also expect 3 sandwiches for that price. It turned out to be 2 super simple toast sandwiches. Those cheap square white things. No lettuce, not even a piece of tomato. And then I think such a dish is way too expensive. The coffee was okay but not special. In my opinion, the time when you couldn't get foam with soy milk is over. My chicken salad was very tasty. I hope management will do something about that bread and the layout of the plate.

I have been a loyal SPG/Marriot member for more than 20-years and always stay at a Marriot in USA, Asia, and Europe. I am at Schiphol heading home to USA and a young Asian lady named Bianca waited on me at the Sheraton Schiphol bar on the Registration Floor. She was ver friendly, happy, and attentive. Although the place isn't the cheapest, you definitely get what you pay for. Absolutely incredible food (that kebab though), with some of the best service I've ever received. Special shout-out to Jakob. If you're ever here, look for him.
